Color Throwdown #840

Hello friends.  I saw the colors at Color Throwdown #840 and of course thought of flowers so I had to make a card using those colors.

I cut a white panel using Pinkfresh Studio Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate and glued it to the white card base.  I die cut red and yellow flowers using Spellbinders Garden Wreath Add-Ons with SU Riding Hood Red (ret), Lemon Lolly, and Daffodil Delight.  The leaves were cut from two greens from a Recollection card pack.  I added black die cut centers to the flowers, and yellow centers to the two small flowers.  I tried several different arrangements but liked this one the best.  The middle yellow flower is mounted with foam tape and the rest are just glued down in the centers.  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders Press Plate and die set, then mounted with foam tape.

I will also add this to Darnell's IDEAS as it is die week and I have used lots of dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for 2 Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today.  I made this card with two challenges in mind - Color Throwdown #815 and The Flower Challenge #96.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Be Fearless Stamps, Dies & Stencils along with PFS inks Mimosa & Mango Sorbet for the flowers and Gina K. Designs Light Spruce for the leaves.  After stamping the images, I used the inks and stencils to color them, and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I die cut two white panels with SU Radiating Stitches dies and blended Bermuda Bay ink around the edge of the largest panel.  I stamped the sentiment from an older Verve set in Bermuda Bay ink and then mounted it with foam tape to the larger panel, and then to the white card base.  I laid the 3 flower die cuts around in an arch to see how I liked it and then mounted them with pieces of foam tape.  I really liked the finished card with this color combo.

Color Throwdown #810

Hello friends.  I am excited to be guesting with Color Throwdown #810 today.  Here are their colors for this challenge - Brick Red, Terracotta & Green.

I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to ink a panel of white card for the mat and die cut the Memory Box Happy Birthday Debut Script die from it.  I then stamped a white panel with the Fired Brick ink and Altenew Chocolate Flowers background stamp.  I die cut Papertrey Ink: Into the Blooms Dahlia from some Recollections card, the closest to Terracotta I had.  I layered the Dahlia and added the center which is punched from a piece of the inked card; I shaped the circle and added it with a little foam tape.  I mounted this to the bottom left corner of the panel.  The die cut green leaves are also from the Dahlia die set and glued under the edge of the petals.  I die cut an extra white birthday sentiment and layered them for a little dimension and then glued it to the top of the stamped panel.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the Team over at Color Throwdown and join in this fun challenge.  Thanks again to Color Throwdown for having me as a guest designer.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends. I have a new anniversary card to share.  I just received the Altenw Chocolate Flowers kit (die, stencil, embossing folder and background stamps) and couldn't wait to use it.  I used the colors from The Color Throwdown Challenge

Wow, my card was the winner at The Color Throwdown.

Yellow, pink and green automatically says flowers to me, it is the perfect color combo.  There is one die that cuts out all the pieces together so I cut them out of white and then used my blending brushes to and inks to color them.  I used SU Pretty in Pink for the two larger flowers, layered together.  I then added a touch of Flirty Flamingo to the petal tips and on the flower centers.  I blended Daffodil Delight on the 2 smaller flowers, and then layered together; and also on the spiky bits and added clear rhinestones to the centers of all.  The leaves are blended with SU Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment die does not have a name on it and I can't remember where I got it.  I die cut 3 layers from white and blended Pear Pizzazz ink on top.  I embossed the white panel with the Chocolate Flowers 3D EF and then mounted all the pieces to it, and then to the card base.  I had fun making this card and really like the finished card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

PIck of the Patch

Hello friends I have a new birthday card to share today.  I used  a new My Favorite Things Pick of the Patch Stamp & Die set I just received.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Blends.  I used Copic C1 to give a hint of gray to the bunny.  I cut the frame with the 2 largest dies from Spellbinders Venise Lace.  I trimmed the outside edges just a bit to show the Real Red mat. I embossed the frame with SU Subtle EF (ret.)  Using the center cut out panel, I sponged Granny Apple Green ink along the bottom and a hint of blue on the top to make it stand out from the frame.  I mounted the frame with foam tape and then glued the center cut out panel to the red mat.  I mounted the images with foam tape, except the two individual strawberries which I glued down.  I stamped the sentiment from the set in black and die cut it with a die from SU Stylish Shapes.  I sponged a little Daffodil Delight ink over it and glued it to the bottom center of the frame.

I am linking to the Color Throwdown Challenge - red, green & yellow.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.

I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms dies cut in cream (flowers & buds) and then sponged them with SU Crisp Cantaloupe ink (ret.) I added rhinestones to the flower centers for a little bling.  The leaves & stems were cut from SU Soft Succulent cardstock.  I mounted them on a cream panel and a Crisp Cantaloupe mat cut with SU Countryside Corners dies.  The sentiment is stamped in SU Soft Succulent.  I mounted this panel with foam tape to a cream panel embossed with Spellbinders Dazzling Dots EF.

I made my card with two challenges in mind -
Color Throwdown - Peach, Sage Green, & Cream

and Can You Handle the Pressure - Use an embossing folder, with a twist of bling.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made my card for JUGS Challenge -  using the colors from Color Throwdown (Sage, Rose, Burgundy).

ETA:  My card was an Honorable Mention at Just Us Girls.

I chose to copy Carol McFarland on the JUGS DT.  Love her layout with the 4 circles and the sentiment in the center and the white panel with the scallop edges.  I used Taylored Expressions Playful Plaid Background stamp to stamp a white panel in SU Soft Succulent ink (ret.).  I trimmed this panel and mounted it on a white panel cut with MFT Blueprints 27 die for the scallop edges.  For the circles I punched 4 white circles and matted them on Merry Merlot scallop circles.  I die cut 4 flowers from MFT Box Card Bouquet in SU Rococo Rose (ret.) and mounted them to the circles. I added Soft Succulent die cut leaves and a rhinestone to the centers of the flowers, then mounted the circles with foam tape.  I glued this panel to a Soft Succulent panel then to my white card base.  The sentiment from SU Sweet as a Peach (ret.) is stamped in Merry Merlot ink and mounted with foam tape.

Happy Birthday for Color Throwdown

Hello friends.  This is my second post today, scroll down for Make My Monday card.  I wanted to get a card done for the Color Throwdown Challenge colors of yellow, green & white.  Of course I thought of flowers for these colors.

I used an old Cheery Lynn die called Daisy Strip for the pretty flowers which I cut from SU So Saffron.  I shaped the layers with my stylus before gluing them together and added a white enamel dot to the centers.  The leaves are cut with a die from my friend - no name on it, but I like it.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Thoughts (retired), stamped on a stitched oval die cut and matted with a scalloped green mat.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape on a white panel embossed with SU 3D Cross Hatch EF (an on-line exclusive set of 3 different 3D EF).  I glued the flowers in the centers and glued the leaves under the edges of the petals.

Happy Birthday for Color Throwdown

Hello friends.  I love the color combination for the current Color Throwdown challenge so I had to make a card with these colors - Aqua, Celery Green, Yellow.

For the flower and buds I used SU So Saffron and Certainly Celery (retired) for the leaves and stems.   All the elements are cut from Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and Club Blooms dies.  The sentiment is cut with Memory Box Happy Birthday Poe Script die from some aqua paper in a Paper Studio Stack from Hobby Lobby.  The white panel is embossed with Spellbinders Splatter EF - my first time using it and I love the texture from it.  I mounted the flowers in the lower left corner and glued the leaves under the petals.   I added the white panel to an aqua mat and then to the card base.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to add to my stash as I am always needing them.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate Die for the lt. blue background, I think it is so pretty.  The flowers and leaves are cut with PTI Into The Blooms - Dahlia; cut from paper from my stash.  I cut 2 of the smallest layer for the small flower and then inked the edges of all the petals before gluing them together.  I added rhinestone gems (Hobby Lobby) to the centers.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set and die cut with Honey Bee Scallop A2 Honey Cuts.  I mounted the sentiment panel with foam tape and glued the flowers and leaves on opposite corners.

I will link this to the following challenges:

Happy Birthday for 3 challenges

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I had 3 different challenges in mind when I made this card.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the colors from Color Throwdown Challenge (red, green and brown) and AAA Birthday Challenge - Anything Birthday Goes.

I stamped the pretty bud from Altenew Peony Bouquet 3 times, colored it with SU Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green, and then die cut it with the matching die.  I die cut 3 small stitched squares from SU Chocolate Chip (ret.) to mount them on.  I mounted them with foam tape under the bud and glued the stems down.  The green pattern paper is from my stash.  The sentiment from SU Celebrate With Flowers (ret.) is stamped in Choc. Chip ink.  I thought the vertical sentiment would be perfect with the sketch design.

Happy Birthday for the Color Throwdown

I love the colors at the Color Throwdown Challenge this week and was able to get a card done for it.  Of course I used a floral stamp, no surprise there. :)
I stamped the background panel with Pinkfresh Studio Diamond Tiles with SSS Intense Black ink.  The flowers are from Newton's Nook Peony Blooms stamped in black and colored with SU Real Red and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I added a little yellow to the flower centers.  I mounted the flowers on an oval die cut mounted to a red scallop oval die cut and then mounted it with foam tape to the card.  I added a little foam tape to each end of the florals that stuck over the ovals.  The sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moments.

I am also linking this one to The Flower Challenge - Summer/Winter challenge.

Happy Birthday for The Color Throwdown

I love the color combo for the current Color Throwdown challenge and finally got a card made with the colors.
I used SU Woodplank background stamp (retired) in Smokey Slate ink on the white panel and then mounted it on a yellow pattern paper from my stash.  I die cut the scribble circle from SU Painted Poppies die in Smokey Slate card and mounted it with foam tape.  I die cut a stitched circle in white and stamped the sentiment from SU Peaceful Moments and then adhered it to the gray die cut.  The flowers and leaves are from SU Painted Poppies and colored with Daffodil Delight blends.  I fussy cut the leaves and used my water brush and ink from the lid of the Smokey Slate to lightly color them.  The final touch was a few grey enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello for Color Throwdown 496

Hello friends.  I made a card for my sister using this week's Color Throwdown colors.  Blue is my favorite color and I think it is striking with black and white.
For my card I used the flowers from SU Flourishing Phrases and stamped it 4 times in MFT Blue Raspberry ink.  I fussy cut the center layers on 2, added a pearl to the centers and mounted them with foam tape.  I stamped the background with SU Gorgeous Grunge and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamped off once for a lighter touch.  The pattern paper is an older sheet I had and I don't know who it is by.  I added punched scallop borders in black.  The black flourishes are from MFT Simple Leaf Flourish.  Finally, I added Impression Obsession Hello die (#DIE174-W).

Thanks so much for stopping by and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.  Have a wonderful day.

Thank You for Color Throwdown #294 challenge

Hi friends.  I am playing along with the Color Throwdown #294 challenge this week.
I love these color choices and had to play along.  I made a Thank You card for someone special.
My card base is Sahara Sand, a Whisper White layer, and Coastal Cabana DSP.  I inked the edges of the DSP with Coastal Cabana ink.  I used my new Creative Expressions Californian Collection - Beverly Hills die to cut the pretty white layer and stamped the sentiment from SU Perfectly Penned in Coastal Cabana ink.  I stamped the flowers from Flower Shop and Petite Petals in Strawberry Slush ink and mounted them with foam dimensionals.  The leaves from SU Peaceful Petals are stamped in Sahara Sand ink on SS CS and inked with SS ink for more dimension.  I added a piece of Strawberry Slush CS under the die cut to finish my card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week.

Big Birthday Wishes

I made this card for my granddaughter using two challenges:  MFTWSC143 and The Color Throwdown #261.  My card also qualifies for the current The Paper Players tic tac toe challenge - the middle row, patterned paper, embossing, any shade of blue.   I used Marina Mist for my card base and mats.  I added a white layer between the card base and Marina Mist DSP.  I used MFT Circle Stax Sets 1 and 2 and MFT ala Modes Big Birthday Wishes for the image and sentiment.  I stamped the image in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.  I also stamped the pants on Pacific Point CS and her top on Pacific Point DSP and paper-pieced them. I sponged the edges to add a little dimension.  I cut her out and mounted her with foam dimensionals.  The balloons are So Saffron and Lucky Limeade CS and I also sponged the edges with coordinating ink.  The circle element is embossed with QuikKutz Polka Dots EF.  I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point ink and added So Saffron and Lucky Limeade (?) brads.

Seize the Birthday 19 and Color Throwdown 246

Sorry for all the posts today but I am trying to get caught up with some challenges.  I am glad if I get one card posted on some days. This is my card for Seize The Birthday 19 and Color Throwdown 246.
ETA;  Yea, my card won the challenge at Seize the Birthday.

The color challeng had me stumped for a little while, but I tried several different DSP and flower colors and finally settled on these.

The card base is Pear Pizzazz CS. The DSP is from 3 different SU packs.  The white mat and sentiment panel is SU Whisper White.  I stamped the SU Happy Birthday sentiment in Old Olive ink and matted it on Old Olive CS.  I stamped the flowers from SU Secret Garden in Rich Razzleberry and cut them out.  The top flower and sentiment panel are mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are from Build A Bird punch and the fern punch is a MacGill punch, all punched from Old Olive CS.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.
