Seize the Birthday Primarily Pink

Hello friends.  It's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy would like our birthday cards to be Primarily Pink.  Of course there is always our "anything goes" birthday, if you are not into our "Topping" option.
I cut a panel of SU Barely Blush (available May) and used Waffle Flower Rhombus Texture Die to create the pretty texture.  I used Gina K. Designs Wishful Florals Stamps, Dies, and Stencils to create the pretty flowers.  After stamping them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I used the stencils and Barely Blush ink to color the flowers and SU Soft Succulent ink (ret.) to color the leaves.  I used SU Lt. Pretty in Pink Blend to add a little color to the centers of the flowers and base of the buds.  I die cut them and mounted with foam tape to the pink panel.  I added an Altenew white enamel dot to the centers of the flowers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts stamp and dies, and is mounted with foam tape also.

I will save this for my great-granddaughter's birthday in May as her favorite color is pink.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Tag

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules wants us to Add a Tag to our card.
I used Simon Says Stamp Rustic Layering Flower for my bloom.  I used Pale Papaya card for the flower and blended Grapefruit Grove ink in the centers of the 3 layers, then glued them together.  I added a brown center, colored with a Copic marker.  The leaves are cut from Granny Apple Green and blended with a little Mowed Lawn DOI.  I cut the largest and smallest tags from SU Tailor Made Tags dies (ret.) and mounted the flower on the largest tag and added a bow to the top with a glue dot.  I stamped the sentiment on the small tag.  I cut a panel of Pale Papaya and glued it to the card base and then added a white panel embossed with SU Crosshatch EF (ret).  I mounted the large tag with foam tape and then added the small tag under the flower petals with foam tape.

Check out all the inspiration by the DT and our Party Guest over at Seize the Birhday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.  Hope to see you in the gallery.

Seize the Birthday - Main Color of Green

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I am the hostess for this challenge.  I chose to use green as the main color since St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner.  It can always be our "Anything Goes" for a birthday - the choice is yours.

I embossed a panel of SU Garden Green with Altenew Textured Tiles EF and then mounted it to the white card base.  I used my new SU Simply Beautiful set and stamped the flower and leaves on white with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then blended DOI Squeezed Lemonade in the center of the flower and DOI Bundled Sage on the leaves.  I don't have the dies yet, so I fussy cut the flower and leaves and then mounted them with foam tape to the green panel.  Then sentiment is stamped and die cut using Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts.  I mounted it with thin strips of foam tape.  I added Spellbinders Black Dimensional Dots for a little bling and my card was done.

Check out all the different cards by the DT and out Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday and join in our fun challenge.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday - Anything With Wings

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jenny would like us to make a card with Anything With Wings.  Of course, it can always be our "Anything Goes" if you are not into our "Topping" option.
For my card I used an older retired SU set called Free as A Bird.  I stamped the image and colored with SU Blends: Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake, with a little yellow on the small flowers.  I blended Balmy Blue ink around the oval after coloring it.  I cut it out with an oval die and matted it on SU Misty Moonlight cut with a scalloped oval die.  I mounted the image with foam tape to a white panel embossed with a 3D leafy embossing folder, but there is no name on it and I can't remember where I got it.  I added a Misty Moonlight mat and then glued to a white card base.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Charming Day on a white strip and added it with foam tape and my card was done.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous card by the Team and our Guest Designers over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday - CAS + Dies

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda would like us to make it CAS (clean and simple) plus dies.  If you're not a "Toppings" kind of person, well...you can just go with our usual "Anything Goes" Birthday!  The choice is yours!

For my card I began with a panel of SU Basic Beige and embossed it with Honey Bee Burlap EF. I had these flowers cut from white with Altenew Cute Open Rose die so I thought I would use them.  I blended some SU Crisp Cantaloupe ink (ret.) to the centers  and shaped the petals before gluing them together.  The centers are cut from Spellbinders Merlot and Sicily cardstock.  I blended Rustic Wilderness DOI on scraps of white to die cut the leaves and glued them under the flower petals.  The sentiment is cut from white using an older Sizzix die and glued on.  I really love the finished card and will be sending it to my granddaughter as her birthday is next month.

Be sure to check out all the cards by the DT and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will also link to the Trible B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies.

and also to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Honey Bee EF.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow of Colors

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Cathy wants us to use a Rainbow of Colors. Of course you can always just make a regular birthday card if you are not into our "Topping" option.

Here is the card I came up with.
I cut a white panel and then blended these inks in rainbow fashion: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Pacific Point, Highland Heather and another row of Real Red.  I cut the panel down to to fit behind the Sizzix Tartan Plaid die cut, and then glued it to the white card base.  I used Birch Press Splendid Cosmos Contour Layers die for the flower cut from Pale Papaya and sponged Pumpkin Pie ink in the centers before gluing the layers together.  The center is cut from Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. The leaves are cut from Pear Pizzazz with a little Call Me Clover ink sponged on one side.  I glued the flower on and then glued the leaves under the petals.  I didn't think about it, but the flower covers the Highland Heather row.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments and cut with the matching die, and  I added 2 plain layers under the stamped layer for some dimension.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the Team and our Party Guest over at Seizer the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Snowflake Background for STB

Hello friends.  This is our first STB challenge for 2026 and Barb wants us to make our own snowflake background.

I found this navy pattern paper in my stash and it has tiny stars and splatters so I thought it would make the perfect background for my snowflakes.  I used an older die, DieVersions Snow Flurries, to cut all the snowflakes and then added them around an MFT Mini Scallop die cut, which is mounted with foam tape.  I die cut Poppy Stamps Birthday Wishes Moonlight Script base from the same pattern paper and then added the white top layer.  A quick and easy card that looks great, in my opinion.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the DT and our Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Can't wait to see what you create for our challenge.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday - Use Christmas Supplies

Hello friends.  Welcome to our last Seize the Birthday Challenge for 2025.  Our team will be taking a break until next year.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.  For our last challenge Ashiwini would like us to use our Christmas supplies for our birthday cards. Of course it can always be an "Anything Goes" birthday project.

I used Waffle Flower Poinsettia Frame Die & Stencil set as I thought the poinsettias looked good to use for a birthday card.  I die cut some single flowers and also the frame die and used the stencil to blend the flowers with SU Flirty Flamingo and Regal Rose inks.  The leaves were blended with SU Just Jade ink.  I cut the frame section apart to use different parts.  I used the berries & leaves section and the smallest flower from the frame die.  I layered 3 flowers together and added a gold gem to the center, glued it in the top left corner of a white panel embossed with Taylored Expressions Weathered EF. I had stamped the greeting from an older SU set in Shaded Spruce ink before embossing it.  I then glued the leaves under the edges.   I used 2 flowers the same size to layer together for the bottom right corner, also adding a gold gem to the center, and gluing the leaves under the edges.  I placed this white panel on a Shaded Spruce panel cut with a SU Scalloped Contours die, then glued to the white card base.  I think it is a perfect card for someone with a December birthday.

Check out all the inspiration by the team and our party guests and join in this fun challenge.  Can't wait to see what you create with your Christmas supplies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Favorite Fall Treat

Hello Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nance (our newest team member) has chosen the "Topping" option of Favorite Fall Treat.

While looking through my stash of dies I came across this older die set by Spellbinders Welcome Fall and thought it was perfect as pumpkins are always a favorite, since I didn't have a pumpkin pie stamp :).  This is the first time I have used this die set but am pleased with the final result.  I got the general idea from the die cover but changed it quite a bit.   I added an extra wood slat to the sign and stamped the sentiment from an older Impression Obsession set, masking each word before stamping.  I also made the post longer to accommodate the sign, which were all made from lt. gray card from my stash.  I used DOI and MFT cloud stencil to blend the sky and green for the ground.  I also used DOI on the leaves.  I die cut the pumpkins from SU Pumpkin Pie (very appropriate) and blended Pumpkin Pie ink around the edges. I also added extra to the basket and placed the 3 small pumpkins in it.  I placed 2 large pumpkins by the basket with form tape.  The basket and sign were also mounted with foam tape.  The branch and leaves were glued on.  I mounted the main panel to a panel of SU Cloud Cover and then to the white card base.

I will send this to Darnell's NBUS since this is the first time using the die set.

Be sure to check out all the fun Fall Treat cards at Seize the Birthday and join in the fun.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Splish Splash for STB

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Shirley has chosen Splish Splash for our "Topping" option.  If you are not into the topping, it can be our usual anything goes for a Birthday.

I used a free digital image from Whimsey Stamps (free on World Card Making Day) and sized it to fit on a panel cut with SU Radiating Stitches die.  I colored it with SU Blends Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Boho Blue.  After die cutting it, I mounted it with foam tape on a panel of Bleu Cheese (Taylored Expressions) also cut with the larger Radiating Stitches die. I then mounted the whole panel to a white card base.  I did the sentiment on my computer and thought it would be perfect for the image.  I glued it to opposite corners and my card was done.  I like the finished card and it will be going to a little one at church who has a birthday this month.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by the Team and our Party Guests at STB and join in the fun challenge.

Seize The Birthday - Embossing

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jenny would like to see embossing on our birthday cards.  If you are not into our "Topping" option, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I used some old and new products on my card.  The old is the SU Heirloom Frames Dies.  I die cut the oval frame and then embossed it with the matching embossing folder.  The Balmy Blue panel is embossed with SU Cross-Hatch EF.  I added foam tape strips under the frame and mounted it to the blue panel.  I stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts (beautiful fonts in this set) on the oval cut out and glued it in the center of the frame.  The flower images are from Gina K. Designs Flower Medley (love this set and have been using it a lot).  After stamping them, I colored with SU Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam Green Blends.  I die cut them and arranged them around the oval frame.  For the final touch, I added black dimensional dots to the centers of the flowers.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge

Hop over and check out all the inspiration by the team using embossing on their cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Black and White

Hello friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda wants to see our birthday cards in Black and White.  Of course it can always be Anything Goes for a birthday.

I used two black & white pattern papers from my stash, glued them together and added to a thin black mat, then mounted on my white card base.  The flower from Gina K. Designs Wishful Florals was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and die cut with the matching die.  I added strips of foam tape to the back and then added it to the center of the black/white dotted paper.  The sentiment is from an older SU set, cut and added with glue and foam tape.  A quick and simple card but I think it looks elegant in black and white.  Thanks Linda for a fun challenge.

We are glad to welcome a new team member to STB - Nance Salked.  Glad to have you joining us Nance.

Seize the Birthday - Use Your Favorite Color

Hello friends.  It is time for a new post at Seize the Birthday.  I am the host this time and I chose "Use Your Favorite Color" as our "Toppings" option this time.  Of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

Any shade of blue is my favorite color so I used SU Boho Blue inks and cardstock.  The die cut frame is from Penny Black Double Frame set.  I used the larger frame for my card.  The beautiful bloom is from SU Thankful Garden set (stamps, dies, stencils).  After stamping the flower I used the stencils to blend Boho Blue ink for the flower and Old Olive ink for the leaves.  I glued the frame to the card base and then stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts, stamped in Boho Blue ink.  I mounted the flower using foam tape and the end of the stem glued under the edge of the frame.

Be sure to check our the Design Team & our Party Guests cards to see what their favorite colors are.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Food and/or Drink

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda would like to see Food and/or Drink on our cards, of course it can be anything goes as longs as it is for a birthday.  I would like to welcome Karen Letchworth who is joining us as our Surprise Party Guest for the next two months.

I was looking through my stamps to find one with food and found this older SU stamp set Sweet as A Peach and decided to use it.  I used SU Peekaboo Peach (ret.) to stamp the 3 peaches, stamping them twice.  I stamped the leaves twice with Granny Apple Green ink.  I die cut the peaches & leaves with the matching dies and then had to decide how I wanted to use them.  I had recently received this frame stamp & die set by the Greetery, Sweetest Frames, and decided to use it  to place the peaches on.  I stamped it and die cut with the matching dies, then stamped the sentiment from the Sweet as A Peach set.  The pattern paper was laying on my table from another project and I thought it went perfect with the peaches.  I mounted the frame with foam tape and then glued the peaches on the bottom right corner.  I added pieces of foam tape under the parts not on the frame.  There were small flowers in the stamp set but I decided to die cut some small white flowers with Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms set.  The centers were cut from white and inked with Peekaboo Peach ink.  The leaves were from a cluster in the stamp set and I cut them apart to glue under the flowers.  I really like the finished card - thanks Glenda for a fun challenge.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous food/drink cards by the team and our guests over at Seize the Birthday and join in our fun challenge.

I will also link to AAA Birthday #75 - summer birthday.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Silhouette

Hello friends.  Cathy is our host at Seize the Birthday and she would like us to "Add a Silhouette" to our birthday cards.

I had to think about which stamps I wanted to use for the silhouette and decided on a silhouette stamp set by Inkadinkado called Meadow.  I have had it for several years and this is the first time I have used it (not sure if it is still available).  I stamped the image along the bottom of a white panel in Versafine Onyx Black and then stamped the butterfly twice.  I sponged SU Balmy Blue ink around the sky area and then stamped the sentiment from SU  Little Delights (ret.). I added a black mat and then glued it to my white card base.  Thank you Cathy for a fun "Toppings" option.  I enjoyed making this card.

Be sure to check out what the Team and our Guest Designers came up with for the Silhouette theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Fancy Fold for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It's a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara would like to see our "Fancy Fold" cards for a birthday.

My fancy fold turned out pretty good I think.  I cut a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 Grapefruit Grove  in half long ways to be 4 1/4 by 11.  I then scored each end at 2 3/4" and folded to meet in the middle.  I used a corner rounder punch on each corner.   I also rounded the corners of the cross piece - mat of Grapefruit Grove and white panel.  I embossed the white panel with SU Cross-Hatch EF.  The stamped flowers are from SU Layers of Beauty and ink blended using the masks (stencils) with Grapefruit Grove and Granny Apple Green inks.  I cut a couple of the end pieces of flowers off so it would fit on the front of my card.  I even used one of them to decorate the inside.  I glued the images on and mounted the sentiment with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the fun fold cards by the DT and our Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use a Frame

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini would like us to Use a Frame on our Birthday project.

For my card I used a Stitched Scallop frame by Pinkfresh Studio.  It cuts in two pieces so you use just the outer part, the inner part, or both. I added foam tape strips to the back and kept it together as I like that look.  I blended Calypso Coral ink over the base of the card and stamped the sentiment from an older SU set before adding the frame.  The flowers are from Waffle Flower Tulips stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends.  The top bud is clipped from another image and added for more fullness.  I added them to the card with foam tape and tucked the bottom of the stem under the edge of the frame.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration by the team over at Seize the Birthday and I hope to see you in our gallery.

Seize the Birthday - Flowers

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy would like to see flowers on our birthday cards. Thanks Nancy, this is my favorite kind of card to make, as you all probably know.😉

I used my new Pinkfresh Studio Magnolias stamp, die, and stencils for the flowers.  After stamping the images in black, I blended SU Pretty in Pink and Flirty Flamingo inks on the flower and buds; and Soft Succulent ink on the leaves.  I die cut the images and mounted them with foam tape to a panel cut with a Memory Box Fringed Scalloped Frame die.  I mounted the panel with foam tape to the white card base.  The sentiment is an older one from My Sentiments Exactly.  I fussy cut around the sentiment and mounted it with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will link this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the fist time I have used this magnolia set.
