Seize the Birthday - Embossing

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of using any kind of embossing on your birthday project.

My card base and all the white panels are Coredinations Heavy CS.  The large white mat is embossed with Su Decorative Dots EF.  I used SU Pistachio Pudding for the mats.  The large green mat is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.  The circle and mat are Spellbinders Classic Circles and Petite Scalloped Circles dies.  The sentiment from SU Beautiful Birthday (retired) is embossed with SU Black embossing powder.  I did some paper-piercing around the sentiment.  The flowers are from MFT Spring Tulips and fussy cut (as I don't have the matching dies YET).  The smaller flower was overstamped with the matching stamps, but the larger oene was colored with SU Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Canteloupe inks and my waterbrush marker.   I mounted the flowers with tiny strips of foam tape.

Now check out all the great cards my teammates at Seize the Birthday have created to inspire you.  I hope you will join us.

Warm Wishes for Christmas Card Challenges #34

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is "Anything Goes" as long as it is a Christmas project.

For my card I used this cute snowman from Avery Elle's Be Jolly.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and did a little coloring with Promarkers.  I paper-pieced his scarf and added Fun Flock to his hat brim & pompom and to the snow.  I embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder and then sponged light blue ink for the sky.  I rounded the corners and added an MFT Electric Red mat.  The panel was mounted with foam tape.  The DSP is from Echo Park's 'tis the Season 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The card base is Coredinations Heavy White CS (from JoAnn's).

Now hop over to Christmas Card Challenges blog and see what inspiration my talented teammates have to show you.  I hope you will play along with us this time.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

JUSGS #302 AND MFTWSC238

Hello friends.  I was able to do a birthday card combining 2 challenges:  Just Us Girls #302 color week and My Favorite Things #238 sketch challenge.  Here's my card.

My card base and sentiment panel are Coredinations White Heavy CS.  I used Recollections Butterfly Wings CS for the lime green leaves and bright pink flowers, and SU Tempting Turquoise for the blue panel.  I added homemade yellow enamel dots to the flower centers.  So I used 4 colors from the JUGS color challenge.     The sentiment is from MFT Birthday Sentiments.  The flowers were made with MFT Layered Rose dies and the leaves from MFT Royal Leaves dies.  The turquoise panel was cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 13 and the sentiment panel was cut with a die from Blueprints 14.  I added faux pen stitching around the panel and mounted it with foam tape.  I really like how my card turned out and I didn't use any patterned paper either. :)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas for Christmas Card Challenges #33

Happy Sunday Morning my friends.  After a two week challenge we are back with our regular weekly challenge for Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge for you.  I used the red and white in the photo as my inspiration.

I have had a very busy week with our Vacation Bible School at my church and this is the first card I have made all week.  I was in charge of crafts and with 4 classes coming one right after the other each night, needless to say it was a little hectic.  But we had a great time and lots of kids.  They enjoyed it and had fun, and also learned about God's word, which is the most important.

Okay, on to the reason you are here, for my card.  I used a new stamp I got at Stamp Fest a few weeks ago.  I love the way it does the reverse image on half of it.  My card is similar to the one they had on display and I loved it, so I can't take credit for the design.  The stamp is Framed Poinsettia from Just For Fun and is embossed in white on MFT Electric Red CS.  The card base is the same CS and the white is Coredinations Heavy White CS.  The sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season is stamped in MFT Electric Red ink.  A quick and easy card, which I don't do often.  :)

Now check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a couple at church.  I used the Just Us Girls #301 Challenge - incorporate gold on your card.
All the white is Coredinations Heavy Weight CS.  The black is Recollections.  I embossed the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms with gold embossing powder, cut them with the matching dies, shaped the petals and added a SU gold button to the center.  The leaves are cut from SU Pistachio Pudding with MFT Layered Leaves die.  On the center strip I added the sentiment cut with Elizabeth Craft dies #970.  The gold heart enamel dots are by Teresa Collins.  The black border is done with a retired SU border punch.  The flower and leaves are mounted with foam tape.  The white panel is embossed with an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug EF Matelasse.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day.

Congratulations on Your Special Day

I had a request from a friend for this card and I enjoyed making it.
I used Cordenations Heavy White CS and SU Marina Mist CS.  The white panel is embossed with SU Filigree Frame and matted with Marina Mist.  The center panel is cut with a Sue Wilson California Collection-Beverly Hills die by Creative Expressions.  I used SU Petite Petals stamp & matching punch for the flowers stamped in SU Marina Mist ink.  I sponged the petal tips, shaped them and added a blue rhinestone to the centers.  The leaves from SU Language of Friendship (retired) are stamped in SU Pear Pizzaz and punched with the matching Bird Builder punch.  I also sponged the tips of the leaves.  The sentiment is from MFT Together Forever set.

I am entering this in JUGS #300 Word Challenge - Congratulations.  JUGS is celebrating their 300th challenge.  Congratulations to JUGS.

I am also entering this in CAS on Sunday's challenge - embossing.

Just Us Girls #300 challenge - Congratulations

Just Us Girls is celebrating their 300th challenge and this week it is a word theme and the word is "Congratulations".

For my card I used the 3 adorable animals from Verve's To The Moon.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Promarkers, and fussy cut them out.  The sentiment is from MFT's Grand Greetings and was perfect for this occasion.  I stamped it in Memento ink and rounded the corners with an EK Success punch.  The DSP is from an older retired SU pack.  The card base and mats are from MFT Sno Cone CS.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Stars & Swirls EF.  The sentiment and animals are mounted with foam tape.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Going Dotty" as there are dots in the swirls of the EF and also the spots on the giraffe, sorta.
