Another Faux Cloisone Card

Hello friends.  I had so much fun making my first faux cloisone card that I made another one using the same magazine as before.  I used stamping, dry and heat embossing, and die cutting. I am linking to CAS Mix Up Challenge.

I embossed the flowers from SU Friendly Hello on a picture of a sandwich with some kind of berry jelly on it.  I thought it would make lovely flowers.  I embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder, glued it on scratch card for stability, and then fussy cut the image.  I embossed a white panel with SU Subtle EF and then die cut a circle from it.  I added a smaller die cut circle with black card to make a frame.  I glued this panel on the card base after stamping leaves from Friendly Hello in Blackberry Bliss to match the flowers; and the sentiment from SU Many Mates.  I am pleased with the final card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for Friends

Hello Friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made this one for a sweet couple at church.

My card was a Team Pick at Tic Tac Toe.

I used my Spellbinders Magnolia Blooms die again as it makes such pretty flowers.  I die cut both pieces from white and then blended blue ink where the flowers are.  On the detailed cut out top layer I masked off the leaves and sponged green ink on them.  I mounted them with foam tape on a white panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF.   I stamped and die cut the word happy from The Greetery's Birthday Blooms and mounted it with foam tape.  Anniversary is from SU Well Said (retired) and is also mounted with foam tape  This panel was glued to the card base.

I was inspired by Silke's lovely card over at  the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the right column down - dry embossing, flowers, CAS - and thought it would make a lovely anniversary card also.  I will link to their challenge.

CAS Mix Up Challenge - Faux Cloisonne

Hello friends. This is my second post today as I finished my card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge - Faux Cloisonne

I used stamping, heat embossing and die cutting for this challenge.  I found this picture of a  casserole in my food magazine and thought it would be perfect for this butterfly image as it had yellow, orange, and rust colors in it.  I stamped it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Extra Fine Gold embossing powder. I then glued it on a scrap piece of cardstock before die-cutting it with the matching die - it is from SU Brilliant Butterflies Bundle.  I also die cut Hello from Memory Box Hello Friends Posh Script from the same piece of picture.  I mounted the butterfly on a piece die cut from Altenew Burlap Texture Die which was glued to the card base.  I then glued Hello below the die cuts.

This photo shows the shine of the butterfly better although it is not as clear.

Seize the Birthday - Dichromatic

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini has chosen the "Toppings" option of Dichromatic - Use two colors only, with the optional addition of any combination of black/white/neutral colors. No metallics allowed!  I had never heard this word so I am glad she had the explanation for it.  Several of us have chosen the two colors of blue and green but all our cards are different.  Be sure to check out all the inspiration over at Seize the Birthday.
I dug out an oldie but goodie stamp set, SU Fabulous Florets (retired),  I stamped the flowers and leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics.  I fussy cut them and layered them on a die cut white panel using SU Ornate Layers Dies.  I mounted this layer with foam tape on a Seaside Spray panel embossed with my new Altenew Diamond Stars 3D EF.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Thoughts. For a final touch I added clear rhinestones to the centers of the flowers.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  This is for a sweet couple at church.  I have 6 anniversary cards to make for March and this is the first one. This card was inspired by a card of Lin's where she embossed with a hot foil plate. I just used a die cut and the cute flowers.

These cute little flowers are from Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms (larger flowers) and Mini Blooms and Sprigs (small flowers & leaves).  I cut them in several springy colors and layered them around a die cut from Spellbinders Elegant Ovals.  I mounted this with foam tape on a panel embossed with SU Danity Diamonds EF.  This panel was glued to a white card base.  The sentiment is from a Verve set that I have had for quite a while.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for a Special Friend

Hello Friends..  I am sharing a birthday card I made for a special friend. Her favorite color is yellow so I always try to include yellow flowers.

The flowers are from SSS Bouquet of Thanks, colored with SU Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blends.  They are mounted with foam tape on a panel of SU Soft Sea Foam card with the edges die cut with Altenew Creative Edges: Lace Die.  I mounted this to a white panel embossed with SU Tufted EF (retired), and then to the card base.  Birthday is from The Greetery Birthday Blooms stamp and die set.  I masked the word wishes from another stamp set, cut around it and mounted it with foam tape also.

I will also link this one to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - Occasions

Happy Birthday for the Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a card to share today that I made for a friend using The Flower Challenge - Occasions theme.  I am always needing birthday cards.

I stamped an image from MFT Magnolia Blossoms twice, colored then with SU Blends, Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive, then die cut them with the matching dies.  I cut apart the second image and just used the larger flower (the one on the right).  I used Pink & Main Plaid Cover Dies Panel A and Panel B for the white layers and mounted them to a card base of SU Seaside Spray. I then mounted the blossoms with foam tape to the card.  The sentiment is from JustRite Large Fancy Sentiments stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, fussy cut, and mounted with foam tape over the flower stems.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Red & Black Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card made for the Color Hues Challenge - Red & Black.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Rockers at Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

I used some new goodies from Spellbinders - Be Bold Blooms for the red flowers and black centers. I added Wink of Stella to the black centers and the edges of the flower petals.  The open leaves are from SU Artistic Dies.  I cut them apart and placed them under the flowers where I thought they looked best.  The sentiment is stamped in Real Red using Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp and die set.  I mounted it with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Pine Planks EF.  The black gingham paper is from a Recollections pad and the scallop border is cut with a SU die.

I will link to the Watercooler Wednesday challenge - All About Occasions.

Seize the Birthday - Sparkle and Shine

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  Our new challenge at Seize the Birthday has the "Toppings" option of Sparkle and Shine chosen by Cathy.

I stamped the flowers from MFT Floral Focus (retired) and colored them with Copics.  I then die cut them with the matching die.  This set has a large image but can be cut apart. I already had the two pieces with one of them colored, so I decided to color the other one to match and use them on my card.  I tried several different arrangements and finally settled on this one.  They are mounted with foam tape on a Pool Party panel embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF.  The vertical sentiment is from SU Celebrate With Flowers.  I matted this with an aqua metallic paper by Tim Holtz (shine) and added 3 rhinestones for a little sparkle.  The whole panel is mounted to a white card base.  I am really pleased with the final result.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team and our party guest over at Seize the Birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Plaid Birthday Card

Hello Friends.  I am sharing a birthday card for Just Us Girls - Plaid challenge.  I got this plaid paper from Michael's this week and thought it was perfect for this challenge.

I mounted the plaid paper on a Crumb Cake card base which matches the tan stripe in the paper.  I had the flowers already colored and fussy cut from SU Friendly Hello (Sale-a-Bration item) and thought they went with the paper perfectly.  The sentiment panel and mats are cut with SU Stitched So Sweetly dies and mounted with foam tape.  I glued the edges of the flower to the sentiment panel and added foam tape to the edges not on the panel, then glued the leaves under the flowers.  The sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moments.

I will also link to Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - All About Occasions.
