Saddle Up & Celebrate

Hello friends.  Today I have a birthday card to share.  This is for a 3 year old at church.  Her family has horses and they all ride, so I thought this image was perfect for her.

The image and sentiment are from MFT  Saddle Up & Celebrate.  I colored the image with Copics and die cut it with the matching die.  I used a white stitched circle die cut and stamped some grass, with a very old stamp, then sponged the green over it.  I also sponged some lt. blue for the sky and then mounted the cowgirl with foam tape.  The circle is also mounted with foam tape.  The pattern papers are from my scraps and matched the coloring perfectly.  The white panel is embossed with SU Stone EF (retired).  I flagged the ends of the sentiment banner with a punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Texture

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and this time Shirley would like us to add texture to our cards. Just remember this is an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

For texture I made a panel using MFT Small Brick Wall stencil and Golden Light Molding Paste. I added a drop of re-inker to color the paste for texture on the brick wall.  I let this dry while stamping and die cutting the pretty MFT Floral Focus set.  I snipped the flower in two sections and colored it with SU Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I cut a circle in the top layer with the largest die from SU Layering Circles die set, stamped the sentiment (Stampabilities) and then embossed it with SU Subtle EF.  Love the texture from this EF.  You can click on the photo to get a better view of the texture. I mounted the flowers and top panel with foam tape for dimension.

Now you need to hop over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates. I hope you will be inspired to play along in our fun challenge.

I will also link my card up at The Flower Challenge - Circle/Circles

Another Anniversary Card

This is my second post today.  I needed another anniversary card for a young couple at church and this is what I came up with.

I stamped MFT Floral Focus twice and colored with Copics.  It is a large stamp and has two sections that can easily be snipped apart, and I did after I die cut them with the matching die..  I used only a small flower from one section for the top corner.  I die cut PTI Bold Borders Flare die from white card and placed the flowers in opposite corners.  I added small white pearls in the small circles of the die cut.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates.

I will link this to The Flower Challenge -Circle/Circles as there are a lot of small circles in the frame die cut, even though they are mostly covered with pearls..  (I hope that counts).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for the Color Hues

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card to share with you today.  I used the colors from the Color Hues Challenge for this one.

For my card I used Seaside Spray and Pumpkin Pie Blends to color the flower from SU So Much Love and then fussy cut the flower.  The blue paper is Seaside Spray and the orange stripe is a scrap from my stash, which matches the flower perfectly.  I glued these papers on a white panel embossed with SU Tasteful Textures EF and mounted it to my card base.  I die cut the circle with a SU Stitched Circle die and stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates. I mounted the circle and flower with foam tape and then added 3 small Seaside Spray faceted gems.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made this for a sweet couple at church using the Flower Challenge - Circle/Circles challenge.

It is also their 4th Birthday challenge.  Congratulations to the Flower Challenge.

Here is my card.

The white panel is embossed with QuicKutz Polka Dots EF (lots of circles there).  I then die cut the white circle and black scallop circle mat with SU Layering Circles dies.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates on the circle and mounted it with foam tape.  The flower from SU So Much Love is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends.  I added foam tape to the lower portion of the flower and glued the top portion to the circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas for The Color Hues challenge

Hello friends.  I finally had a chance to make a card for the Color Hues Challenge - Cream & Gold.

YEA, my card was the winner at the Color Hues.

I had the cream/gold dotted paper in my stash so used it and matted with gold foil.  I stamped and embossed the middle and small poinsettia layers from SU Poinsettia Petals and the sentiment from SU Perfectly Plaid with gold embossing power.  I made two of the middle layer and one of the small layer and then shaped the petals and glued the layers together.  I die cut the center from gold foil also. The sentiment panel is die cut with a Nested Labels die and mounted with foam tape.  I glued the flower to the left side of the label and then added two cream die cut leaves and two of the berry sprays cut from gold foil.  I was really pleased with the final card and was glad I got to join in the fun challenge over at the Color Hues.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge

Hello Friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge -  Tone on Tone using stencils.

I die cut an oval from cardstock and used the negative to sponge the oval with Speckled Egg DOI, then I placed my new Newton's Nook Gingham Stencil over it (with the negative oval piece still in place) and sponged Salty Ocean DOI over the oval for the tone on tone look.  I had this pretty flower already stamped, colored and fussy cut just waiting to be used on a card, so I paced it to the bottom of the oval, off center, and then placed some die cut leaves around it.  The sentiment is from SU Fancy Phrases and die cut with a fishtail flag die.  I mounted the flower and the sentiment with foam tape.  I added a thin black mat and my card was done.

Seize the Birthday - Use Your Scraps

Hello friends,   It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Lindsey would like us to use our scraps on our birthday project.

I had this flower from Altenew/Pinkfresh Studio Celebrate Us already stamped, including the yellow layers and just had to color the leaves and then die cut it with the matching die.  Luckily I had some scraps that went with the flower colors so I cut 3/4" strips and mounted them on a white panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF.  I added a thin black mat to this layer to make the colors pop more.  The sentiment from SU Fancy Phrases was stamped on a panel cut with a retired die.  The sentiment and flower were mounted with foam tape.  I added 3 yellow candy dots for a final touch.

Don't forget to check out all the fabulous cards by the design team over at Seize the Birthday and  join in the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Maculine Birthday Card

Hello Friends.  Today I have a masculine birthday card to share.  This was made for my granddaughter's friend's dad.  He rides and trains horses so she wanted a cowboy/horse theme.  She said he loved the card.

I downloaded this image from Pinterest and colored it with Copics and Promarkers. I sponged some lt. blue ink for the sky area.  I then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and matted it with Basic Gray. The sentiment is from SU Blossoms in Bloom, also die cut with a small stitched rectangle die and matted with Basic Gray.  The image and sentiment are mounted with foam tape on a white panel embossed with the Stone EF (retired) and then on a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.
