Vellum for Seize the Birthday

Hello crafty friends, it is Thursday and time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  This week we have the "Toppings" option of using vellum on your birthday project.  Remember it is just an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

My first thought was to use flower images on vellum as they turn out so pretty, but decided I would use a Memory Box butterfly.  I die-cut it in white and then fussy cut the vellum to go underneath.  I glued just the body part and bent the wings up slightly.  Inked the back of the butterfly with some springy colors, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is a Verve stamp in SU Early Espresso ink.  The sentiment panel is cut with an MFT die, and mounted with foam tape.  The mats and the flourish are SU Early Espresso CS.  The pattern paper is from MME Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing.

Welcome Little One

Today I am joining in a blog hop to welcome Lesley and Corey Croghan's little one, due in April.  Be sure to check out what all the participants have to share for Lesley and Corey on Lori Turner's blog.  It was wonderful of her to do this for Lesley.

I met Lesley through being on the Seize the Birthday and The Dynamic Duos design teams, and also by participating in several of the challenge blogs she created.  She is a very sweet lady and very talented.
 Congratulations Lesley, I am so happy for you and Cory.  

For my card I used SU Blushing Bride CS and DSP (from an older pad).  The image and sentiment are from Sugar Pea Designs Bundle of Joy.  I colored the image with Copics, fussy cut it, and mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is cut with MFT Pierced Circle and Circle Stax 2.  I added 3 dots with Nuvo Jewel Drops Rosewater.  The white panel is embossed with SU Happy Heart EF.

This is a look at the inside.  I found the saying on the left side on line, typed it up and cut it with Spellbinders Floral Oval die.  The sentiment on the right is from the same Sugar Pea Designs set.

Have an Amazing Birthday

Hello crafty friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  Our "Toppings" option this time is to use black & white with a splash of one other color.

For my card I added the splash of color with the SU Botanical Builder Framelits and MFT Electric Red CS.  I shaped the flower a little and added a rhinestone to the center. The DSP is from an older Carta Bella Words of Love 6x6 pad.  The circles are cut with MFT Pierced Circles, Circle Stax 2 and MFT Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers dies.  The sentiment is from Verve's Poppy Birthday set.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Dot Swirl EF.

Sieze the Birthday

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time it is "Anything Goes" as long as it is for a birthday.

We have a new Guest Designer, Anita Bowden.  Help us welcome Anita by visiting her wonderful blog and leaving her some love?

For my card I used DSP from Authentique Latest & Greatest 6x6 pad (I love the pink & black color combo).  I matted everything with black.  The scallop mat is cut with an MFT Blueprints 20 die.  The white panel is embossed with a retired SU EF.  The banners were cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Layers Stax.  The flower is made with Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur set.  I sponged the flower petals  with SU Pink Pirouette ink after stamping and die-cutting them with the matching dies.  The leaves are from Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose set and cut with Botanical Wings die.   I added a yellow enamel dot to the center of the flower.  The sentiment is from Verve Happy Birthday Plain Jane stamp.

Thinking of You

I made this card for a friend, who is having surgery, using this week's Just Us Girls photo week challenge.

The red frame is cut from SU Real Red CS with a Mama Elephant Framed Tags die, and mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment and tulips are from MFT LJD Spring Tulips.  I die cut two layers of  MFT Grassy Edgers and glued one to the card base and one under the edge of the frame for some dimension.  The tulips are mounted with foam tape between the grass layers.  I sponged the clouds on using Taylored Expressions Cloud Border Die and SU Bashful Blue ink.
