Christmas Money Holders

Hello friends.  I made these money holders for Christmas to give to my grandchildren. They are grown and it is easier to give them money so they can get what they want.  I will link them up at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Not a Card

I used an older Recollections 12x12 Christmas pad for the papers and it also had the cute tags in it, which I fussy cut.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom two form a couple of SU Christmas sets.  I used a scalloped border die to cut the flaps with.  I also added Velcro dots for the closure.

I have two more to make but wanted to get these linked to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge before it closes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Blessed Christmas Wishes

I made another Christmas card based on the sketch at The Paper Players

ETA:  My card was a Runner Up at Color Hues.

and A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

I used the rectangle for my sentiment which is from a retired SU set.  I embossed it in Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  The poinsettias and foliage are from MFT Pretty Poinsettias, colored with Copics and die cut with the matching dies.  I mounted the poinsettias and the sentiment panel with foam tape and glued the foliage under the flower petals.  I added some tiny red rhinestones for a little bling.  The background panel is embossed with Spellbinders Dazzling Dots EF.

I will also link to the Color Hues Challenge - Scarlet & Green

CASE a Seize the Birthday Designer

This is Seize the Birthday's last challenge for 2022 and Barbara has chosen our topping option to CASE a STB Designer.

I chose to copy this card of Barbara's as I really love it.  Heat embossing is her favorite technique and I enjoy it also.

This is my card

I did gold heat embossing on a panel of Midnight Muse card (SU ret.) using the large floral image from SSS Beautiful Flowers, stamping off the edge like Barbara did.  I also used a large sentiment from Waffle Flower Happy Birthday Sentiments.  I used Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder for the embossing.  I mounted the 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 blue panel on my white card base and I was done.  I am really pleased with the final result and I hope Barbara likes my CASE design..

Hop over to Seize the Birthday and check out which designer each team member decided to CASE.  I hope you will choose a designer and play in our fun challenge.  If you had rather do your own card, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  This is my second post today and I have an anniversary card to share that I made for a couple at church.

I watch a video by Tina Smith making this card using some new Spellbinders products (I used different products) and loved the technique she used with the small trellis die from SB Kaleidoscope Plaid set on the white panel. This set has 3 small dies you can layer together or use separately like this.  I cut the die 3 times as Tina did, once from the white scallop panel, which I die cut with SU  Scalloped Contours die.  I layered them together for sturdiness and dimension and placed them back in the cut out area..  I used a different floral spray from Spellbinders July 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month Club.  I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I glued this to the white panel and them to a Pale Plum (ret.) mat.  The sentiment is from SU Celebrating You.  I mounted this to the white card base and my card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Sweetest Season for The Paper Players

Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today and I made this one for The Paper Players Challenge - CAS Christmas

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the A Cut Above at the Paper Players.

The candy canes are from Reverse Confetti Joys of the Season. I have had this set for several years but this is the first time I have used it.  It has several lovely images and I am sure I will be using it again.  I stamped them with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I then die cut them with the matching die and mounted them with foam tape to a panel embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.).  The sentiment is from SU Sweetest Time (ret.), stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink and mounted with foam tape.

I am also  linking to Krafty Chicks Challenge - CAS

Joy to the World

Hello friends.  I am getting more Christmas cards done and this one is for the Color Hues Challenge.

The background panel is embossed with SP Forevergreen EF.  I used SU Cherry Cobbler to die cut the Waffle Flower Layered Poinsettia die.  I die cut two of the largest layer to make it a fuller flower.  I shaped the petals and layered it together, offsetting the layers, then added 3 small gold beads to the center. I used 2 shades of green to die cut the foliage from Spellbinders Holiday Blooms.  The gold die cuts are from a retired SU set.  Joy is cut from white then a layer of gold foil.  I have had the die for several years and there is no name on the package so I am not sure who makes it.  To the World is an older MFT set and is embossed with Ranger Fine Gold Embossing Powder.

I will also link to The Flower Challenge - Add Embellishments

Merry Christmas for JUGS Color Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today.  I made this one using the colors at the Just Us Girls Challenge.

ETA:  My card was a Favorite at Die Cut Divas.

The colors are red, green and gold.  The background is SU Evening Evergreen embossed with Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettia EF.  The large ornament is from Spellbinders October Large Die of the Month Club.  I die cut it from ivory card stock and also die cut a solid one to layer behind the cutout piece.  It can be for stitching, but I used it plain and added small pearls to the centers of the design. The gold trim is a separate die which is cut twice and layered on the top and bottom of the ornament.  The poinsettia and foliage are also from the same set. I die cut two poinsettias, layered them, and added small white pearls to the center. I had the Merry Christmas already die cut from gold foil cs and I am not sure which die I used.

The ornament die set has other pieces that you can make a large layered display card but I chose to make a regular A2 size card (5 1/2 by 4 1/4) with just the pretty ornament.

Christmas Blessings

Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today.

ETA:  My card was a Top Pick at The Krafty Chicks

and also a Team Pick at Tic Tac Toe Challenge

and an Honorable Mention at The Flower Challenge.

I made my card using the Tic Tac Toe Challenge board and went with the left row down (green, holiday floral and scoring or embossing) and the middle row across (holiday floral, free, and red).

I used Spellbinders Holiday Blooms for the pretty poinsettias in Real Red and foliage in Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  I layered 2 large and 1 small poinsettias together and added 3 gold gems in the middle.  I added these to a white panel embossed with Spellbinders Forever green EF and then to a thin mat of Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment from Taylored Expressions In and Out Christmas is gold embossed, then fussy cut.and mounted with foam tape.  I also added Wink of Stella to the small buds but it doesn't show up in the photo.

I am adding this to The Flower Challenge - Add Embellishments (gold beads to the flower centers)

Turquoise and Mustard for The Color Hues

I have been thinking how I wanted to use these colors sand this is what I came up with after trying a couple different layouts..

I die cut a panel from Tempting Turquoise (SU) with a Scalloped Contours die and embossed it with the Painted Texture EF.   The flower is made with my new Spellbinders Button and Daisy Chrysanthemum die.  I die cut double layers of the 3 largest flowers from white and blended More Mustard ink over all the layers, making it darker in the centers.  I glued the layers together offsetting them and added a white enamel dot to the center.  I mounted the flower with foam tape and added white die cut leaves using Altenew Leaf Mix Die Set (lacy leaf) and a retired SU die (small leaves).  The sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp & die set is stamped with Tempting Turquoise ink, die cut with the matching die and mounted with foam tape.

Seize the Birthday - Many of Something

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time out "Topping" option was chosen by Ashwini and it is Many of Something.  If you are not into the "Topping" option, just make it for a birthday.

Also, a big welcome to our new team member Linda Snodgrass.  Glad to have you with us Linda.

I had started to use SU Wreath Builder dies with some small blooms but ended up using Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and die cut many blooms and many leaves for my card. The colors are SU Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie for the blooms and buds. I added brown enamel dots to the centers of the blooms.  The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi (ret.).  I did cut apart the wreath die cut for the lighter green leaves.  I arranged these on a white panel embossed with SU Painted Texture EF.  The sentiment is from an older Verve set.  I used a corner rounder to round the edges and mounted it with foam tape.  The white panel is added to a mat of Mango Melody and then to the white card base.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you join us for this fun challenge.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Merry Christmas card

Hello friends.  I am working on getting my Christmas cards done for this year, still have quite a few to go.

I had these two poinsettias from SSS Holiday Sprigs stamped, colored, and die cut and ready to use.  I was deciding how I wanted to use them and was inspired by a card on Pinterest by Bette Manning. I embossed a lt. gray background with a die and used the de-bossed side. I then used my white ink and a dobber to ink the raised lines.  I just received my MFT order yesterday with the Pretty Poinsettias stamp set and matching dies so I stamped 2 each of the foliage and berries from that set, colored with Copics, then die cut them.  I arranged two sprays in opposite corners and added the die cut white circle with a sentiment from SU For Unto Us stamp set.  I added two yellow glittery dots to the centers of the poinsettias and 3 small red rhinestones on the sentiment panel.  The sentiment circle and poinsettias are mounted with foam tape and the foliage is just glued under the petals.

Christmas Tag

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas tag to share today.  I don't make too many tags but had to do this one  for JUGS Wild-Card Week which is Holiday Gift Tags.

I used an older MFT Stitched Tag die to cut my tag.  I then blended DOI Peeled Paint over the bottom left corner where I wanted to place my poinsettia spray.  I used SSS Holiday Sprigs and matching dies for the poinsettia and the mistletoe sprig.  I colored the images with Copics and added Diamond Stickles to the center of the poinsettia and the berries.  The poinsettia is two layers separated with foam tape.  The sentiment is also from the same set.  I punched a hole in the top and added white & silver ribbon and tied with white & silver Baker's Twine.

I am also linking to NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) as this is the first time I have used this set even though I have had it a while.
