Seize the Birthday - Cakes

Hello friends, glad you stopped by.  We have a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  Shirley has chosen the "Topping" option of Cakes for this challenge.

I used an older SU stamp and die set Happy Birthday to You.  I colored the image with Promarkers and then die cut it and mounted with foam tape to a Stitched so Sweetly die cut.     The pattern paper is from my stash.  I mounted this on a Crumb Cake panel and then to the card base.

Hop on over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the great cards by our party guest, Jenny, and the design team.  Hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday in Fall Colors

Hello friends, thanks for stopping by.  I have a birthday card to share using new stamps, dies, stencil, and fall colors for a few challenges.

This is my first time using the Altenew Cone Flower stamps and dies.  It is a layered stamp but I chose to stamp the flower and color it with SU Bleends:  Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede and Old Olive.  After die cutting the image I did a little fussy cutting on the white border so it wouldn't show on the Altenew Sphere Stencil.  I used Frayed Burlap DOI on the stencil and off set it on the edge.  After sponging I embossed the panel with SU Tasteful Textile EF.  The sentiment is from SU Sweet As A Peach, stamped in Soft Suede ink.  I cut the slanted ends and mounted both the sentiment and flower with foam tape.

Time Out Challenges - I chose flowers and joy from the words

Tic Tac Toe Challenge - top  row, Die Cut, Orange/Rust/Embossing

Christmas Card Challenge - Plaid (again)

Hello friends.  I have made another card for CAS Christmas Card Challenge using plaid pattern paper.

I love this pretty blue plaid paper and wanted to use it on a card and thought it would be perfect with this cute angel image from SU Angels of Peace. I die cut it with a curved scallop die by MFT and glued it to the card base.  I stamped the angel on a scallop die cut and colored her lightly with alcohol markers.  I also added Wink of Stella to the wings but couldn't get a good photo of it - very pretty in person.  I mounted this panel with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set on the left side and added 3 pearly enamel dots. A quick and simple card but I love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Stitching, Faux or Real

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara has chosen the "Toppings" option of Stitching - Faux or Real   If you are not into the "topping" option you can just make it for a birthday.

I used Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rounded Rectangle die for the white panel, stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink and then embossed it with SU Subtle EF to give it a little texture. (click on the photo to see it larger and see the faux stitching around the die cut).  I added a thin Blushing Bride mat and rounded the corners with a punch.  I had this pretty floral spray from Catherine Pooler's Grateful Heart already stamped and die cut so I colored it with SU Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I added the top two single blooms to give it a little more fullness, and then mounted it with foam tape.

Now check out all the fabulous cards by the designers and our party guest over at Seize the Birthday.  There is so much great inspiration with faux and real stitching.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

CAS Christmas Challenge - Plaid

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share today.  I made this for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Plaid.  I like participating in this challenge as it helps me get an early start on my Christmas cards and I am getting used to the clean and simple style.

I stamped this cute pup from MFT Happy Pawlidays and colored him with alcohol markers.  I added the present (already cut) for a little balance to the design. The sentiment is from the same set,  I cut the panel down and added it to a plaid pattern paper from The Paper Studio Christmas pad and my card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

The Flower Challenge -Turquoise

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share using this month's The Flower Challenge - use the color turquoise.

I had the flowers from Simon Says Stamp Bouquet of Thanks stamp and die set already stamped and cut so decided to color them using turquoise shades of Copics and I think they turned out so pretty.  I mounted them angled from the side with foam tape on a Sahara Sand panel embossed with SU Brick and Mortar EF.  I colored the rhinestones (sparkle) with the darkest shade of Copic marker and added 5 of them to my card..  I also had the sentiment as an extra from the card I posted earlier, so my card came together quickly.

I will also link this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for the Color Hues

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I made this one using the Color Hues challenge - Yellow & Orange.  They are celebrating their one year anniversary.  Congratulations to Color Hues.

For my card I used the Daisy Bouquet stamp and die set from Paper Rose.  I colored the daisies with SU Blends - So Saffron for the daisies, a little Pumpkin Pie around the center and Crumb Cake for the stems and leaves.  I cut the oval grid from a white panel using Spellbinders Floral Oval die (retired) and then embossed the panel with SU Textured Textile EF.  I glued the panel to my orange card base and then glued the oval back in.  After die cutting the daisies, I did a little extra fussy cutting to remove the white border and the inside sections on the image.  I mounted them with foam tape over the oval cut out section.  I like how the orange card base shows through.  I stamped the  sentiment from SU Art Gallery and then die cut it using a die from MFT.  I added foam tape to the ends of the banner to mount it.  I added 3 yellow enamel dots for a final touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a friend to share today.   I used the challenge at Just Us Girls - 6 of anything to make my card. They are celebrating their 600th challenge.  Congratulations to Just Us Girls.

The image is from Simon Says Stamp Mandy's Flowers (retired) which has 5 roses,  die cut it with the matching die and stamped just the flowers again,  I fussy cut the small bloom and leaf on top and added it to the bouquet to have 6 roses.  I colored the image with SU Flirty Flamingo ,Grnany Apple Green  and Seaside Spray (jar) Blends.  The white panel is die cut with a SU Scallop Contour die. I cut part of the way and then moved the die up and finished cutting it to make it long enough to fit the jar and flowers.  The pattern paper is from Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham.  I have had the paper and stamps for a couple of years but this is the first time I have used them and I think both are retired.  The sentiment and die cut banner are from My Favorite Things.  I glued it to the image and added foam tape under the ends as the image is mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Pastel Colors Only

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I have chosen the "Toppings" option of using pastels only.  Remember if you are not into the "Toppings" option, it just has to be for a birthday.

For my card I have used Pinkfresh Studio It's A New Day Floral stamp and dies.  I used SU Soft Sea Foam Blends (leaves) and Copic RV02 & RV10 (flowers) and a yellow marker for the center.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape over a lacy frame die cut by Gina Marie Designs.  Tthe background paper is from my stash.  It is a pale blue with splotches and I stamped the sentiment from SU Magnolia Blooms on it.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team  and our party guest over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will link to The Paper Players - Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  I chose the first row down - feminine, birthday and florals. I love making floral cards.
