Seize the Birthday - Tic Tac Toe

Hello Friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has a  Tic Tac Toe board as our "Topping Option" for us to play with.

I used the diagonal row bottom left to top right - Slimline, Clean & Simple, Stencil. I used Pinkfresh Studio Blooming Branch stamp, die and STENCILS for the pretty flowers.   After stamping them, I used the stencils, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi inks to blend with.  I then die cut the image with the matching die and cut it apart to put at the top and bottom of my embossed panel (Spellbinders Columns EF) cut with a Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Slim Cuts die.   I mounted the flowers and sentiment (Gina K. Birthday Greetings) with foam tape.  I really like my finished card and it is clean and simple to do.

You can check out all the inspiration by the TEAM and our Party Guests using Glenda's Tic Tac Toe board and hope you will join in this fun challenge.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today. This one is for a sweet couple at church.  I just received the Spellbinders Floral Spray die and wanted to use it right away.

I die cut the pretty flowers from 3 shades of blue (Balmy Blue, Marina Mist & Misty Moonlight) and then layered them together. I did do a little ink blending to the center of the lightest flower and around the edges of the largest flower.  The leaves and stems were cut from Pear Pizzazz.  I added these to a white panel cut with Concord & 9th Basket Weave Card Front Die. I also added small rhinestones to the flower centers. The sentiment is die cut with a Creative Expressions die.  I really like the finished card and hope the recipients will.   They always enjoy my cards.

I am linking to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms & Butterflies.  Of course I always enjoy making floral cards.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  This one is for my great-granddaughter who has a birthday in August and she loves pink.

I started with a panel of Petal Pink cardstock which was cut with Sunny Studios Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace die, using just the outer frame.  I embossed the panel with Spellbinders Checkered Scallops EF and added it to the card base.  Then I cut Waffle Flower's Radiating Diamond Frame die and stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Birthday Greetings.  I glued the frame down just in the center.  All the flowers and leaves were cut with Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms dies except the dark peach one from Club Blooms dies.  I mounted the larger bloom with foam tape and glued the smaller flowers and leaves around it.  I thought it needed something on the right side so I added two small flowers with leaves.  I really love the finished card.

I am linking my card to The Flower Challenge - Birthday.

Seize the Birthday - Fruits

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen would like to see fruits for our birthday creations.

I have had the SU Sweetest Cherries for quite a while but this is the first time I have used it and I thought it was perfect for the "topping" option Colleen chose.  I die cut the white panel using Sunny Studio Fancy Frames-Lattice (I didn't use the lattice part).  I then used a SU Mask and Soft Sea Foam ink to lightly blend a background for the cherries.  I stamped the cherries and "Sweet" in Cherry Cobbler ink on white, then fussy cut them out.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and the stems in Soft Suede and fussy cut.  I glued the parts together and mounted them with foam tape to the background panel.  I also fussy cut the sentiments and mounted them with foam tape. This was a fun card to make.

Be sure to check out what the team and our party guests have created for this fun challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I am also linking to Darnell's NBUS challenge since this is the first time I have used this set.

Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  This one will be going to a friend at church.  I made the card with The Flower Challenge in mind - their theme this month is Birthday.

I had these flowers from Pinkfresh Studio You're the Best already stamped so I colored them with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  The white die cut border is cut with a Gina Marie Designs die.  I glued this to a SU Basic Beige panel and then to a white card base.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape around the border.  The sentiment is from Penny Black Super Day stamp set.  I really like the finished card and I hope the recipient does also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for JUGS #733

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made it with the JUGS challenge in mind - Anything Goes Stencil Week #733.

I used a Tim Holtz String Stencil and SU Crumb Cake ink for the white panel,  For the pretty flowers I used Pinkfresh Studio Be Fearless set.  I stamped the images and used the stencils and my blending brushes to color them with - PFS Mimosa & Mango Sorbet inks for the flowers and SU Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  The sentiment is an older Verve stamp which is stamped in SU Early Espresso ink.  After die cutting the flowers, I mounted them with foam, arranging them on opposite corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Star

Hello friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Cathy would like to see a star(s) on our birthday cards. Remember, it is our"Topping" option and the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

For my card I used an older SU EF called Star Crossed.  You can see all the little stars embossed on the lt. blue panel.  The cake and sentiment are from an older SU set - Happy Birthday to You.  I colored the flowers with SU Flirty Flamingo & Granny Apple Green Blends, with a touch of yellow on the flower centers.  I used a lt. gray Copic to accent the cake frosting and a darker gray for the cake stand.  After coloring the image, I die cut it with the matching die and then mounted the sentiment and the cake with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the "starry" cards by the team and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my daughter and son-in-law.  I was inspired by the colors of the Mood Board at Just Us Girls Challenge.

The color in the middle photo of the bottom row was what caught my eye and I thought the rays shooting up reminded me of the branches of this Fine Floral Stem by Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut the image from white card and sponged Peeled Paint DOI on the stems and Peacock Feathers DOI to the centers of each flower layer. I then glued the flower layers together and added gold fancy rhinestones to the center of each flower.  I embossed a light blue panel with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and mounted it to my white card base.  I then mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the stem down.  The sentiment is an older one from Verve Stamps.  I mounted it with foam tape across the bottom of the stem.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this die set.

Let's Celebrate You for JUGS

Hello friends. I am sharing a card I made for the JUGS challenge -Word Week #731 - Celebrate.

I used Pinkfresh Studio Blooming Branch Stamp, Stencils & die for the pretty blooms.  After stamping them in black ink, I used the stencils and PFS Chasing Sunsets ink cubes to blend ink on the flowers. The leaves are done with SU Wild Wasabi ink (ret.).  I also lightly blended one of the ink cubes, Mimosa, on the card base and then attached Altenew Trellis die cut over it.  I die cut the flowers and mounted them with foam tape over the trellis panel.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Sweet Birthday, stamped in Mimosa ink and mounted with foam tape on the right side and glued over the edge of the flowers.

Birthday card for Pinkfresh Studio's June Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I made this one with new Pinkfresh Studio Be Fearless Stamps, dies, and stencils.

I stamped the images in black ink and used the stencils to blend Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Regal Rose inks over the flowers.  I only used Wild Wasabi ink for the 2 layers of leaves and the 2nd layer made the darker areas.  I cut a white panel and taped off the left edge and then blend the 3 pink inks over the section for the gradient look.  I really like how this makes the flowers pop with the same colors.
I had a little smudge when removing the tape so I stamped the sentiment on an oval die cut mounted it with foam tape over the smudge.  The flowers are arranged around the sentiment and mounted with foam tape also.  I really love the finished card.

Happy Birthday to You

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara wants us to use double stenciling on our cards.  For Double Stenciling, she would like us to use a stencil and before you pick it up, place another one over the top and fill in it. not just use two stencils but to double stencil.  Here is the link to a video explaining the technique.

and here is my card using this technique.

I used my new Pinkfresh Studio's Magnolias Stamp, die, and stencils.  The stamps and dies are all grouped together so you stamp them all at once. I stamped mine with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used the stencil to blend SU Blushing Bride ink over the flowers, then I placed Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil over that stencil and blended SU Melon Mambo ink over it.  After lifting the 2 stencils,  I added a little Regal Rose (ret.) ink with the 2nd flower layer.  For the leaves I blended SU Wild Wasabi ink (ret.) over the leaves and then placed the Dot Fade stencil over them and used the same ink for the dots.  I die cut the images and arranged them, with foam tape, on a pale blue panel embossed with Taylored Expressions Brick EF, and then to the white card base.  The sentiment is from Penny Black Super Day stamp set and it is mounted with foam tape also.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous stenciled cards by the team and our Guest Designers over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope you will try this fun technique.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for Two Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made this one with two challenges in mind - Color Hues (Blue & Yellow) and The Flower Challenge - Sketch.

I used SU Pacific Point for the center panel and embossed it with one of SU new Fun Patterns EF.  I gently dragged my white ink pad across the embossing so it would show up better and I like the added dimension.  I then added 2 narrow strips of black card to the back and mounted it to my card base.  The flowers from SU Happiness Abounds (ret.) was stamped in Memento black ink and colored with SU Daffodil Delight blends.  I added a black enamel dot to the center of the large flower, and then mounted them with foam tape.  I added 3 white die cut leaves from SU Cottage Rose (ret.).  The sentiment is also from the Cottage Rose set -  I angled the ends and added foam tape to the right side and glue to the left side over the flower.  I really like the finished card, it will be going to a good friend at church.

Magnolia Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I recently received this Pinkfresh Studio Magnolias stamp & die set and couldn't wait to play with it.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics.  I cut them out with the matching die and arranged them how I wanted them.  I taped them together on the backs and mounted them with foam tape to a stenciled panel I had lightly stenciled with DOI Frayed Burlap and a SU Mask.  The sentiment is from an older SU set and I mounted it with foam tape also.  I mounted the panel to my card base and it was done.  I really like the finished card.

I am linking to Pinkfresh Studio June Challenge - ombre or gradient.  I hope the gradient colors of the pinks on the magnolias count.

Happy Birthday to You

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made this one for Just Us Girls Challenge.

I chose to copy Carol's lovely card.

I love the way she arranged her flower elements on the edge of the circle and added a die cut bow.
I had these flowers from SU Decorative Borders (ret.) on my table from a previous project so decided to use them. They are colored with SU Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I die cut the white bow from SU Stitched Blooms (ret.) and the circle is die cut from a new set, SU Spotlight on Nature.  I mounted the circle with foam tape to a white panel cut with Concord & 9th Basket Weave Card Front die.   The flowers were partially glued to the edge of the circle and I added bits of foam tape on the ends off the circle.  The sentiment is from Penny Black Super Day set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues - Coral & Teal

Hello friends.  I made a card for the Color Hues Challenge using Coral and Teal.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as one of Runner Ups at Color Hues

I used my new stamp and die set from Spellbinders - Lily Arch.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay Blends.  I also die cut 3 plain white layers to glue behind the image, instead of using foam tape, because of the narrow outline in the  image.  I embossed a panel of Bermuda Bay card with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and glued the image to it, then to a white card base.  I didn't add a sentiment as the image is so pretty by itself - I may add one when I decide to send it out.

I will also link to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

Use Metalics for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  Time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Ashwini would like us to Use Metallics on our birthday cards.

I used some textured gold foil cardstock for my metallics, cutting the mat, sentiment (Memory Box Birthday Posh Script) and the center of the bloom.  The flower is Honey Bee Lovely Layers Anemone die set.  I cut the flower layers from lt. blue card and blended Bashful Blue ink in the centers before gluing it together.  I also shaped the petals with my fingers to give it a little dimension.  The leaves are cut from SU Soft Sea Foam and blended with the same ink.  It gives a little shading to them.  I also added the cute little flower bud from the same set.  The white panel is embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF.

Be sure to check out all the great inspiration with metallics over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Graduation Card

Hello friends.  I have a great-granddaughter graduating from high school this week and this is the card I made her.

The school colors are blue and white so I used SU Blueberry Bushel DSP, ink, and Blends for the card.  The paper is from Glorious Gingham (ret.).  The white panel is die cut with an unnamed die (but I love using it).  I stamped congratulations from SU Filled With Happiness stamp set in Blueberry Bushel ink in the middle of the white panel.  The caps are from an older TCP Sudio Graduation set.  I stamped them in black ink, colored them with Blueberry Bushel Blends, fussy cut them, and mounted them with foam tape.  The white panel is also mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Pink tulips

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I made this one for The Flower Challenge - Color Your flowers.

I stamped Waffle Flower Tulips in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics (flowers) and SU Soft Succulent Blends (leaves). I cut them out with my Scan n' Cut as I don't have a die; then I used my Exacto knife to cut out the inner white parts.   I cut a Pool Party panel to 5-1/4 x 4" and embossed with  my new Spellbinders EF Lattice Work.  I swiped my white ink pad over it but it doesn't show up too much. The sentiment from Gina K. Birthday Greetings is stamped on a SU Thoughtful Expressions die cut.   I mounted the pretty tulips and the sentiment panel with foam tape.  I added 3 small rhinestones to finish it off.

I will link to May Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies.
