Best Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I finally got a card made for the Color Hues Challenge - Yellow & Orange.
I had to think about how I wanted to used these colors and this is what I came up with.  I used PTI Bitty/Big DSP for the yellow panel and matted it on a thin orange mat, then to a white card base.  Then I used Penny Black Classy Frames and cut 3 of the middle frame and glued them together.  I used one of the center cuts to glued in the frame and stamped the sentiment from an older SU set in brown ink.  I die cut 2 sunflowers (Amazon) from Daffodil Delight and inked the centers with orange ink and added the brown die cut centers.  The leaves are cut from SU Crumb Cake and the edges inked with the brown ink.  I mounted these on the bottom of the frame and my card was done.

I will share this at Darnell's IDEAS as it is Anything Goes week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Freshly Made Sketches #750

Hello friends.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #750 to make another Christmas card.
ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

I had this cute little elf from Penny Black Sing Joy already colored and cut in the package and thought I would use her.  I cut two white Spellbinders Essential Diamonds and layered them together and them mounted the cute elf with foam tape.  For the background, I embossed a panel of SU Basic Beige with Spellbinders Christmas Tile EF and mounted it to the white card base.   I added 2 narrow strips of red behind the diamond and glued it all to the embossed panel.  The sentiment and music notes are from the the same stamp & matching die set.  I cut the sentiment apart and mounted it with foam, then glued the music notes around.  I really like this card and will probably give it to a friend at church who teaches the young kids music.

I will also share this at Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge - anything goes Christmas.

and also to Can You Handle the Pressure - use an embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Another new anniversary card for August.  I only had 2 to make this month for couples at church, but lots of birthdays. :)
I used Papertrey Ink Into the Blooms: Anemones for the pretty flowers.  I die cut them from SU Barely Blush and then blended Flirty Flamingo ink to the petals before assembling them.  The centers are cut from white and Soft Suede.  The leaves are cut from some green in my stash.  I stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Anniversary Flowers on the center cut out of the largest Penny Black Classy Frames (left over from another project).  I cut Waffle Flower Rhombus Die from SU Balmy Blue and glued it to the Balmy Blue card base.  I mounted the sentiment panel with foam tape and then mounted the center flower with foam tape to the top.  I glued the other 2 flowers and leaves around it.  For a final touch I added Wink of Stella to the brown centers of the flowers, but it doesn't show up in the photo.

I am sharing my card at the Triple B August Challenge

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas - Snowman

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.  I made this one for CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Snowman.  Thanks to Loll for starting the challenge again.

I looked through several of my snowman stamps and settled on Snowy by Penny Black.  He is easy to stamp and easy to color.  I stamped him on a panel cut with MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and colored him with a few Copic markers.  I added Flower Soft to his hat band and pompom.  I  have had these glitter snowflake stickers (Hobby Lobby) for a while and thought I would add a few small ones to the background.  The sentiment is from an older Sweet 'n Sassy Crazy About Snowmen stamp set.  It has quite a few snowmen also, but I wanted to use Snowy.

You can see the snowflakes and Flower Soft better in this close up photo.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues - Pink and Red

Hello friends.  I am honored to be the Guest Designer at Color Hues Challenge today and the colors are Red & Pink.

I was going through my stamps and found this older stamp from Art Impressions, Cupcake BFFs and thought it would be perfect to color in Red & Pink.
After stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored her with Copics and used SU Crumb Cake Blends for her hair and cupcake wrapper.  I die cut her with my new Penny Black Curvature dies and also cut a Real Red frame.  It cuts the center out as well a the frame.  I glued the red frame over the white frame for a little dimension, and then to the Pretty in Pink panel embossed with Taylored Expressions Weathered EF.  I then mounted this panel to the white card base.  The stamped image panel was then glued in the opening of the frame.  The sentiment from the same stamp set, is stamped on a white scrap and glued to the edge of the frame.

Now it is time to check out what the DT did with these colors.  Hope you will be inspired to join us in this fun challenge.

I am also linking to Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) as this is the first time I used these dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Your Favorite Color

Hello friends.  It is time for a new post at Seize the Birthday.  I am the host this time and I chose "Use Your Favorite Color" as our "Toppings" option this time.  Of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

Any shade of blue is my favorite color so I used SU Boho Blue inks and cardstock.  The die cut frame is from Penny Black Double Frame set.  I used the larger frame for my card.  The beautiful bloom is from SU Thankful Garden set (stamps, dies, stencils).  After stamping the flower I used the stencils to blend Boho Blue ink for the flower and Old Olive ink for the leaves.  I glued the frame to the card base and then stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts, stamped in Boho Blue ink.  I mounted the flower using foam tape and the end of the stem glued under the edge of the frame.

Be sure to check our the Design Team & our Party Guests cards to see what their favorite colors are.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Two More Christmas Cards

Hello friends.  I am slowly getting my Christmas cards done and have two new ones to share.

For Card #1 I combined some old and new stamps/dies.   The old is Taylored Expressions In & Out Christmas stamps for the sentiment.  I stamped it in Real Red ink and fussy cut around it.  The poinsettia is from a retired SU set Poinsettia Petals stamp & dies.  I stamped the poinsettia in Smokey Slate ink and cut with the matching dies.  The leaves were stamped in Mossy Meadow on some green from my stash, and then die cut.  I added the die cut gold center to the poinsettia.  The Real Red background is stamped with my new Penny Black Christmas Story stamp with Whisper White ink.  I then added my new SSS Double Plaid Cover cut in white.  The sentiment and poinsettia are mounted with foam tape and the leaves glued under the petals.  I really like the finished card.

For card #2 I used Creative Expressions Festive Collection - Poinsettia Additions for the white poinsettias.  The leaves and pine boughs are cut from Evening Evergreen using Spellbinders Holiday Blooms die set.  The gold pieces are cut using SU Poinsettia Petals (ret.) .  Noel is cut from gold foil using SU Joy of Noel (ret.) and glued on an Ornate Layers (ret.) die cut. I glued the letters on the panel and mounted it with foam tape. The flowers and foliage are glued on over the banner. I like this one too and my granddaughter said this one is her favorite of all my Christmas cards.

I will link Card #1 to Darnell's NBUS as the die cut and background stamp are new.

Another Christmas Card

I am slowly getting some Christmas cards done before the rush and I have one to share today.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Top 3 picks at Peace on Earth.

I used some new dies to make my card - Birch Press Holly Sprig Contour Layers and Penny Black Classy Frames.  I die cut all of them from white and colored the Holly Sprig with Copics.  The white frame is the middle frame of the set.  The larger mat is the center cut out from the largest frame and stamped with a sentiment from SU Brightest Glow (ret.).  I blended some Crumb Cake ink around the edges.  I mounted the frame piece with foam tape on a mat embossed with Spellbinders Scattered Christmas EF, and then to a thin mat of SU Real Red.  I will probably make more of these for Christmas as I really like it.

I will link my card to the Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge.

Also to Darnell's NBUS as this is my first time using these 2 new dies.

Embossing on Vellum

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I did the embossed vellum technique the Group of Seven Cardmakers are doing on their blog this month.

I used the smallest butterfly from Penny Black Butterfly Trio and stamped it several times on a piece of Vellum and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I didn't stamp on the back (I missed this in the description) but I colored the back of the vellum with yellow and orange alcohol markers, then trimmed the vellum to fit inside a die cut Mama Elephant frame from Framed Tags - Madison Avenue.   I had an older lt. blue pattern paper and cut it to 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 and glued it to the white card base.  I then mounted the famed panel to the card base and added a sentiment from a retired SU set.  I like the finished card and am glad I tried this technique.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  This one will be going to a friend at church.  I made the card with The Flower Challenge in mind - their theme this month is Birthday.

I had these flowers from Pinkfresh Studio You're the Best already stamped so I colored them with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out.  The white die cut border is cut with a Gina Marie Designs die.  I glued this to a SU Basic Beige panel and then to a white card base.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape around the border.  The sentiment is from Penny Black Super Day stamp set.  I really like the finished card and I hope the recipient does also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Sky

Hello friends.  Happy Thursday - it is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Vicki wants us to Add a Sky. With that in mind, I made this cute card for a little girl at church.

For my sky I die cut a SU Scalloped Contours Die from white and then sponged some DOI Speckled Egg over it using a Taylored Espressions Cloud Die.  This is the first time I have used that cute bunny image from Penny Black called Flying By. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Blends Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green.  I also used a lt. gray Copic marker around the edges of the bunny image.  I then fussy cut the bunny and mounted him with foam tape to the sky panel.  The sentiment in the top right corner is from the same stamp set but I masked off the word "Hi" and than stamped a second sentiment (SU) on a scrap piece and added it to the bottom left corner.  I added this panel to a Powder Pink panel embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and then to a white card base.

I will also link this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is the first time I used that cute bunny.

and to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge (my first time playing in this challenge)

Hello

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share today.   I have been wanting to use this large butterfly stamp from Penny Black Butterfly Trio and when I saw the color challenge at Just Us Girls I thought I would give it a try.

I stamped the butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored over the black with my black marker as it didn't stamp real clear (I tried it a couple of times).  I colored the wings with SU Pale Papaya and Pool Party Blends, then fussy cut it out.  There is no matching die but it was easy to cut out.  I embossed the white panel with SSS Blossom Field EF and matted it with a thin Pool Party mat.  I die cut the Hello (Tutti Designs) twice in white, once in Pool Party, and layered them together; but it looked too pale on the white, so I die cut it in black and glued in on top of all the layers.  I thought it looked better as there was black in the butterfly.  I am please with the final result.

I am also linking to NBUS as this is the first time I have used this stamp.

Seize the Birthday - Food

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and the topping option this time is food, glorious food, which was previously chosen by our lovely teammate Lindsey, who passed away recently.

I was going through my stamps and paper recently and came across this cute stamp by Penny Black called Sweet Thing.  I thought it would be perfect for the topping option with that big cupcake.  The paper is some I have had for a loooong time but was perfect with the image.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics.  I then die cut the image with a stitched circle die and a mat from dark brown cardstock. She is mounted with foam tape. The pattern paper is also matted with the same brown.  The white panel is embossed with SU Timeworn Type EF and the sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moements, also cut with a circle die and mounted with foam tape.

Don't forget to check out all the fabulous cards by the design team over at Seize the Birthday.

Birthday Blessings

Good morning friends.  I have a cute little birthday card to share today.  This one is for a little one at church.
I used this cute image from Penny Black called Beautiful Day.  I colored her with Promarkers and think she turned out so cute.  I added Wink of Stella to her wings, but it doesn't show up in the photo.  I sponged the blue sky and green grass and added an older stamp grass image on top.  I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.  The sentiment is by Verve and cut with banner die.  Both of these are mounted with foam tape on a tiny pink check panel cut with MFT Blueprints 27 die from Sunny Studio DSP.

I am linking to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as I have not used this stamp set before.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas - Stocking

Hello Friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for CAS Christmas - Stocking.
ETA:  My card was one of the Outstanding Design picks for May CAS Christmas.

For my card I used this cute image from Penny Black Gather Around set. Aren't those kitties cute hanging on to their stockings.
I colored the image with Promarkers and also added a background by sponging Crumb Cake ink over an MFT English Brick Wall stencil.  I added to rhinestones, colored with a gray marker, to the ends of the garland to look like it was pinned on the wall.  I then framed the image with 2 dies from SU Stitched Rectangle dies.  I added a thin red mat to pick up the red in the stockings.  The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh Angel Friends set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a blessed day.

Just Us Girls #454 Color Week

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a young girl at church.  I used this week's JUGS Color Week challanged
The image is a cute Penny Black stamp called Birthday Wheels.  I stamped her on X-Press Blend Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  Her hat is paper-pieced with the same background paper which is from MFT Pastel Stripes 6x6 pad.  I die cut her with a Spellbinders Scallop Rectangle die and mounted the panel with foam tape.  I die cut the lt. green stripe paper with a MFT Blueprints 20 die.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  I just put foam tape on the ends of the sentiment strip and place it over the corner of the image panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello and happy Monday friends.  For our challenge this week over at Merry Monday, Nina wants us to add ribbon to our Christmas card.

I used this cute image from Penny Black Gather Around set stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I added some tiny bows on the ends of the garland using some older Christmas ribbon from Michael's.  I also added some fluff to the stocking cuffs with a mixture of Fun Flock and Flower soft..  The sentiment is from Powerpoppy Poinsettia set.

You should check out the other Merry Monday designers cards using ribbon.  I hope you join us for this fun challenge.
