Exciting News - Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #255

Happy Monday friends.  I have some exciting news to share with you - I am now on the Design Team over at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  This is my first post as a team member and I am so thrilled to be joining the team as I love making Christmas Cards.

Marcia is our hostess this week and her challenge is to use the word Joy on your Christmas Card.

For my card I used Stampabilities Joy to the World stamp I got at Hobby Lobby.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed with black embossing power, but you can't tell it in the photo.
I die cut it with MFT Stitched Ovals and matted it with a black MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Oval.  I then mounted this with foam tape.   I was trying to decide on which DSP I wanted to use and had it laying on the this patterned paper from an older Martha Stewart Christmas Mat Pad.  I thought this would be perfect, as Jesus was our greatest gift at Christmas, so I went with that.  I used MFT Blueprints 20 die for the scallop mat.

Now be sure to hop over to the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog to see all the fabulous creations by the Designers.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Snowman for Merry Monday

Happy Friday friends.  This is my card for this week's Merry Monday Christmas challenge.

I used this cute Country Snowman by Stampendous, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I added a mixture of white fun flock and flower soft to the cuffs of his mittens and Aleene's Glitter Snow (the glitter doesn't show up in the photo) to the bottom for a little extra texture.  I die cut this panel using MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies and mounted it with foam tape.  The DSP is from A Very Merry Christmas 6x6 pad by The Paper Studio.  The black scallop mat is cut with MFT Blueprints 20 die.  The snowflake is Simon Says Stamp Maryanne Snowflake cut from glimmer paper.

At Doris' request I am sharing my card at her new challenge:  http://do-allkreatives.blogspot.de/

and CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for Feberuary.

JUGS and MERRY MONDAY

This is my second post today.  Please scroll down for my Seize the Birthday card or click HERE.

Hello Friends.  I was thinking of the Just Us Girls Challenge, which is Travel and thought who wouldn't want to travel on Santa's Sleigh,
So I combined it with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - use Black, Gold and White.
This is what I came up with.  I tried several different papers and dies before I settled on this idea.  I like the way it turned out.

I cut the Impression Obsession Santa sleigh out of black CS.  The star, Merry Christmas by Elizabeth Craft Designs and the scallop frame by MFT Blueprints 20 die are cut from gold foil CS.  The star is a Memory Box die.  I mounted these on gold dotted DSP from the Paper Studio Gifts of Gold 6x6 pad.  The only stamping is my sentiment on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas

This is my second post today.  Scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenges post.

I made my card using this reindeer from Lawn Fawn's Toboggan Together set.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics, then fussy cut him out.  The circles are Spellbinder Classic Circles and Scallop Circles dies.  I stamped the tree background with an Inkadinkadoo stamp and SU Old Olive ink.  I sponged lt. blue ink around the trees and added a mixture of Flower Soft and Fun Flock to the bottom for the snow.  The deer is mounted with foam tape and so are the circle panels and sentiment flags.  The sentiment is from Inspired By Stamping's Festive Frames set.  The mats are SU Cherry Cobbler and the white is Coredinations Heavy White Card.  The DSP is from 'tis the Season by Echo Park.

Merry Monday #179 - Pink, Green and White

This is my second post today.  Scroll down for my Christmas Card Challenges card.
I didn't think I was going to get my card done for the Merry Monday Challenge this week, but I just barely made it in time.  I have had a very busy week.

The pine branches were cut from SU Certainly Celery and Old Olive with Memory Box Pine Needle Border.  The white panel is embossed with SU Brick Wall EF.  The sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season is stamped in Old Olive ink.  The ornaments are made from SU Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery CS with Memory Box Snowflake Ornament and Classic Ornment dies.  The bows are cute from Brushed Silver paper with Memory Box Precious Hearts, naturally, I cute the hearts off.  The pink ornament and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas

This is my card for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #178 - Red & Gold.  I used SU Cherry Cobbler and Coredinations Heavy White CS.  I stamped Heartfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettia in Versamark on Cherry Cobbler and embossed it with Ranger Gold Detail embossing powder.  I cut it using the matching Sparkling Poinsettia dies.  I shaped the petals and layered them, then added a Gold Glitter Gemstone by The Paper Studio.  The Merry Christmas is a die by Impression Obsession and cut from Gold Glitzy paper by DCWV.  The white panel is embossed with a folder I borrowed from my friend and I don't remember the name of it.  I think it is by Cuttlebug.  The gold scallop mat is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.

Happy World Card Making Day

This is the card I made today and am entering it in a couple of challenges.

The challenge at Merry Monday this week is to use rainbow colors on your card.

I used SU inks in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi.  I sponged strips on textured white CS and then cut the Merry out using SU Expressions Framelits Dies (retired).  I cut out two white layers and layered them to give it more sturdiness.  I curved it a little when gluing it on a white panel embossed with a Cuttlebug Snowflake EF.  The ornament and sentiment are from MFT's Christmas Ornament sets (Unfortuately it has been discontinued, but I love using it). I added it to the diecut Merry with a little gold twine.  Then I added  colorful rhinestones to the centers of some of the embossed snowflakes.  This panel was mounted with foam tape to DSP from MME Market Street 6x6 pad. The scalloped mat was cut from SU Wild Wasabi with a die from MFT Blueprints 20, and the card base is Coredinations Heavy White CS.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Card Making Challenge for World Card Making Day.

Merry Monday #171

I made this card for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #171 to make the sentiment the focal point of your card.  I used Coredinations Heavy White CS (from JoAnn's) and the DSP and mat are some paper I had on my desk.  I think the DSP may be from Hobby Lobby (not sure).  The light blue mat is cut with a die from MFT Blueprints #20.  The sentiment is from Verve's Peace on Earth, embossed in silver embossing powder and cut with a Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance die.  I cut 2 and layered them for extra sturdiness and mounted it with foam tape.

This photo shows the embossing and dimension better.

Thanks for stoppig by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas for Merry Monday - Holly

Hello friends.  I was able to get my card done for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge this time and we are to use holly on our card.

I took several shots of my card, but had to take it on an angle so the embossed layer would show up, white is so hard to photograph.  I used SU Garden Green and Coredinations Heavy White CS.  The image is from a Hampton Art stamp & die set.  I cut the included die and stamped the image with SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  I traced the outer edge of the die on SU Garden Green CS and fussy cut it out.  The holly leaves are cut with Spellbinders Little Leaf Set, and I added 3 small red pearls by Queen & Co.  The white panel is embossed with a Sizzix Holly EF.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello friends.  I was able to get my card done for the Merry Monday #165 challenge - candles and flowers.  Here is my card.
The image is from Flourishes Christmas Candles (unfortunately it is no longer available), stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Promarkers.  I added 2 tiny poinsettias with a Martha Stewart punch with gold rhinestones in the centers.  I cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals die, and matted with SU Real Red cut with Spellbinders Classic Scallop Ovals die.  The sentiment is from Verve's Glad Tidings.  Then I mounted it with foam tape on DSP from Teresa Collins' Santa's List 6x6 pad.  Added another SU Real Red layer and then to thecard base of Coredinations Heavy White CS.

Merry Monday #162 challenge - tag(s)

This is my card for this week's Merry Monday challenge - use tag(s).  I used MFT Smooth White CS and Recollections Black for the mats.  The DSP is from an older DCWV 8x8 pad.  I cut the tag with MFT Tag Builder BP 1 and the sentiment and cute snowman is from Recollections Winter Wonderland set.  I stamped the scarf in SU Real Red ink and paper-pieced it.  The sentiment is mounted with foam tape in the middle and I glued the ends down.  I sponged lt. blue ink around the edges of the tag and added snow with Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil and molding paste, but it doesn't show up much in the photo.  The only coloring is his nose and the stars.  I used Sakura Clear Glitter pen on the stars and snowflakes on the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #154 - Vintage Style Christmas Card

The Merry Monday challenge this week is to create a vintage style Christmas card.  I searched on line for some vintage Christmas images and found this one which had a frame around it.  I printed it and cut the image out without the frame and matted it to a Spellbinders Scalloped Oval cut from SU Always Artichoke.  The card base is also Always Artichoke.  The DSP is from Simple Stories Handmade Holiday 6x6 pad.  I cut the sentiment from one of the pages and matted it with SU Basic Black.  The image and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.   I think it made a quick and simple vintage style Christmas card - and no stamping either. :)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Merry Monday #153 - Angel or Cherub

I was able to get my card done for the Merry Monday #153 challenge - use an angel or cherub on your Christmas card.
This image is a cute free coloring image I found on Pinterest, (Click Here for the link).  I reduced the image and printed her out on X-Press It Blending Card and did a little coloring with my Copics and added shine with the Sakura Clear Glitter Gel Pen.  You can see the glitter a little better in this photo.

I cut her out with a Spellbinders Rectangle and sponged around the edges with SU Bashful Blue ink. The Riding Hood Red mat is cut with a Spellbinders Scallop Rectangle.  The DSP is from Authentique Festive 6x6 pad.  I cut the sentiment panel, the Old Olive Mat and the horizontal red mat with dies from MFT Blueprints 20.  For the red mat, I just got a narrow strip and then put it back in the die to cut the scallops on the bottom edge.  The sentiment from SU Contempo Christmas (retired) is stamped in Old Olive ink. The image and sentiment panels are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment.
Have a Blessed day.

Christmas Card Challenges #15

Good Morning friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a photo inspiration for you - blue & silver ornaments.

I love blue and silver together and they make a beautiful Christmas card.  I used 2 ornaments from SU Tags Til Christmas (stamped in Soft Sky ink) and Contempo Christmas (stamped in Marina Mist ink) - sorry, both are retired.  Then I overstamped them with Versamark ink, embossed them with Irridescent Ice embossing powder and punched them out with the matching ornament punch.  I cut the bows from silver foil paper with a Memory Box die.  The pine branch is from SU Watercolor Christmas, stamped several times in Wild Wasabi ink.  The ornaments are mounted with foam tape on DSP from Teresa Collins Studio Gold 6x6 pad.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season in Marina Mist ink. I also used the Silver Foil paper as a mat and the card base is Marina Mist.

This photo shows how shiny the ornaments are IRL.  They are so pretty.

My teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges have created some fabulous cards.  I hope you will check them out and join us in the challenge.

Merry Monday #148 - Red & Green

This is my card for Merry Monday #148 - use Red & Green.   I found these cute 3D Christmas Ornaments by The Paper Studio while I was shopping yesterday and thought they would be perfect for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  The center poinsettia is a puffy element.  The gold trim on the ornament doesn't show up well in the photo but is very pretty IRL.  I added a sliver of gold foil paper for the hanger.  The greenery is from a Memory Box die cut in SU Always Artichoke and Garden Green and layered for more dimension.  The sentiment from SU Greetings of the Season is stamped in MFT Electric Red.  The red mat is Electric Red and the card base is MFT Smooth White.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.
Happy Stamping,
