Seize the Birthday - Use Halloween Colors

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Vicki has chosen Halloween colors as our topping option this time.

I made a triple dipper using the colors of black, orange, purple and green, all the Halloween colors I could think of.  The sentiment and ice cream cones are from a retired SU set, Sweet Ice Cream..  I stamped the ice cream in Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green, then punched with the matching punch.  I did fussy cut around the edges to remove some of the white border.  The cone was punched from Crumb Cake and stamped in Soft Suede with the crosshatch stamp.  I mounted the ice cream cone with foam tape.  The sentiment is also stamped in Soft Suede and the white panel embossed with SU Tasteful Texture EF.  I added a thin mat of Pumpkin Pie and a black mat cut with MFT Bluprints 27 die (retired).

Be sure to check out all the fun cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a card to share that I made with SU Painted Harvest (retired).  My card was inspired by this card by my friend Bonnie. I told her I would share it.  Thanks so much Bonnie for the inspiration.

and here is my card.

I used the same colors (Pumpkin Pie, Peach Parfait, Crushed Curry, Old Olive) and layout but made a full panel for the front of the card, and used a birthday sentiment from Verve.  I die cut the sentiment with a stitched oval die and mounted it with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #67 - Poinsettias and Posies

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card with poinsettias that I made for the October Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

I used Spellbinders Holiday Blooms for all the die cuts, poinsettias from Real Red, leaves from Pear Pizzazz and pine branches from white.  The sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments is embossed in gold and cut with a stitched oval die.  The navy pattern paper is from SU Abstract Beauty (retired).  It already had the gold splatters on it and I embossed it with my new Spellbinders Circle Illusion 3D EF.  I sponged navy ink on the raised areas to highlight them more.  The sentiment and poinsettias are mounted with foam tape..  I am very happy with the final result.

Color Hues Challenge

I have a card for the the Color Hues Challenge - Orange and Green.  Naturally, I thought of flowers so here is my card.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I used a different background, sentiment and different colors.

I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms again (love this set).  I die cut the flowers from white and sponged the centers and small blooms with SU Peach Parfait ink (retired).  I die cut the flower centers and branches from SU Early Espresso card.  The leaves are cut from Wild Wasabi card (retired) and the sprigs from SU Certainly Celery card (retired).  The white panel is die cut with Ink to Paper Border Bling: Tin Stitches and layered with a mat cut from SU More Mustard (retired).  The sentiment is from SU Blossoms in Bloom (retired) stamped in Early Espresso ink and mounted with foam tape.  The larger blooms are also mounted with foam tape and the leaves glued under the petals.  Sorry for all the retired products but I find it hard to get rid of them. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

JUGS Color Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for the JUGS Color Challenge - lt. blue, orange and brown.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as Chic of the Week at JUGS.

ETA:  My card was an Honorable Mention at The Flower Challenge.

I just received an order from Spellbinders which included the lt. blue card stock (Glacier) and the Dazzling Dots EF, which were perfect for this challenge.  I die cut the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms from white and blended Pumpkin Pie ink in the centers, then added the brown die cut centers.  The sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts (retired) was stamped in brown ink on an Ornate Layers (retired) die cut and mounted with foam tape.  I then added the blooms with foam tape and brown leaves cut from SU Forever Flourishing dies.  I used the largest die cut from Soft Suede card and cut off pieces to fit around the blooms.  I colored enamel dots with a Pumpkin Pie Blend and added them for a little bling.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS challenge as this is the first time I used the EF and new card stock.

Happy Birthday to The Flower Challenge

Hello friends, glad you stopped by.  I made a card for The Flower Challenge.  They are celebrating their 6th birthday and have lots of prizes.  Happy Birthday Flower Challenge.

I used Spellbinders Layered Daisies for the flowers and also Spellbinders Mini Blooms and Sprigs for the 2 small flowers and sprigs.  I cut them from SU Blushing Bride and blended a darker pink ink in the centers.  After layering the flowers, I mounted them with foam tape on a white panel cut with Pinkfresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Plaid die.  I added the leaves and stems cut from SU Pear Pizzazz under the flower petals.   I cut the yellow flower centers 3 times and layered them for dimension.   Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script die is cut from Pear Pizzazz and White and glued together.  I added small strips of foam tape to mount it.

I am also linking to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies as I used quite a few dies on this one.

Seize the Birthday - Faces

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and the "Toppings" option chosen by Shirley is Faces - Human or Animal.

I got this stamp set, Cow Party, from Whimsy Stamps to make cards for friends at church that have cows.  I love the cute images and sentiments.  I stamped two of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Blends.  I cut them out and added a black mat.  The pattern paper is from my stash, not sure where it is from.  The sentiment is from the same set.  After die cutting the sentiments, I mounted the images and sentiments with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you join in our fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
