Repetitive Die Cut

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy has chosen the "Topping" option of Repetitive Die Cut.  Hope you join us in this fun challenge.

For my repetitive die cut I used a leaf die from Spellbinders Club Blooms die set. I was thinking of using it all over the background like faux embossing, but after I had the four die cuts in each corner, I liked it and stopped there.  The pretty pink bloom, green leaves, stems & buds are all from the same Spellbinders set, which I love using.  I die cut an MFT stitched oval in white and a scalloped mat in the same lt. pink as the buds.  I stamped the sentiment and then arranged the other die cuts along the bottom.  I did sponge some Blushing Bride ink in the center of the flower and then added a fancy rhinestone to finish it.  The oval panel is mounted with foam tape.

Seize the Birthday - Use Fall Colors

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda has chosen to Use Fall Colors for our "Topping" option.  Of course, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.  Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team over at STB.

I thought of orange, brown and yellow for fall colors, so that is what I went with.  I embossed the Crumb Cake panel with SU Dainty Diamonds EF.  I fussy cut the corners to match the smaller panels.   Then I die cut Spellbinders Club Blooms in orange - large flowers; yellow - small flowers and centers for large flowers; and green for the leaves and stems.  The white and brown panels were die cut with SU Countryside Corners die. I stamped the sentiment from a retired SU set and glued it all together, then mounted the flowers in the corners. I added dark brown enamel dots to the flower centers.  They were originally cream color, but I colored them with a Copic marker.

Hello

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share today.   I have been wanting to use this large butterfly stamp from Penny Black Butterfly Trio and when I saw the color challenge at Just Us Girls I thought I would give it a try.

I stamped the butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored over the black with my black marker as it didn't stamp real clear (I tried it a couple of times).  I colored the wings with SU Pale Papaya and Pool Party Blends, then fussy cut it out.  There is no matching die but it was easy to cut out.  I embossed the white panel with SSS Blossom Field EF and matted it with a thin Pool Party mat.  I die cut the Hello (Tutti Designs) twice in white, once in Pool Party, and layered them together; but it looked too pale on the white, so I die cut it in black and glued in on top of all the layers.  I thought it looked better as there was black in the butterfly.  I am please with the final result.

I am also linking to NBUS as this is the first time I have used this stamp.
