Happy Birthday for a friend

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend who likes purple.  I used PTI Gran's Garden set and SU Perfect Plum ink and pattern paper.
To stamp the flowers I used Perfect Plum for both layers but stamped off once for the lighter base layer and full strength for the top layer.  The dotted centers are SU So Saffron ink and the leaves are SU Wild Wasabi.  I die cut the images with the matching dies and mounted one flower with foam tape over the other one which is glued to the base.  The white panel is die cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz die. The sentiment is from SU Rose Wonder set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow

Hello and happy Thursday.  It's time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of Rainbow.  Of course it is always "anything goes" as long as it is for a birthday.

For my card I used a piece of watercolor paper and applied several colors in a rainbow fashion.  I then used Poppystamps Happy Birthday die to cut out the sentiment and glued it to a panel embossed with a We R Memory Keepers EF.  I stamped the flowers and leaves from a retired SU set, Secret Garden, in matching ink colors to go with the rainbow theme.  I shaped the flower petals and then added a pearl to the centers.  I really like how it turned out and hope the recipient does also.

Now be sure to check out all the lovely "rainbow" cards over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Hello friends, I have another card for the JUGS Color Week challenge.  This card is for a couple at church.

ETA:  Yea, my card won Chic of the Week at JUGS.
JUGS Chic of the Week

I used Altenew Layered Plaid Cover Die A (love this die) and placed it over some lt. green parchment card.  The flowers in aqua and yellow are from Altenew Painted Flowers stamps and dies.  The pierced tag die is by Pretty Pink Posh and the sentiment is a Verve stamp set.  The flowers and tag are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls #454 Color Week

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a young girl at church.  I used this week's JUGS Color Week challanged
The image is a cute Penny Black stamp called Birthday Wheels.  I stamped her on X-Press Blend Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  Her hat is paper-pieced with the same background paper which is from MFT Pastel Stripes 6x6 pad.  I die cut her with a Spellbinders Scallop Rectangle die and mounted the panel with foam tape.  I die cut the lt. green stripe paper with a MFT Blueprints 20 die.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  I just put foam tape on the ends of the sentiment strip and place it over the corner of the image panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Mix Up - Monoprint

Good morning friends.  I had to try this monoprint technique for the CAS Mix UP challenge.  They have several links to explain this technique so I watched all of them and then gave it a try.  (I am getting lots of practice with the CAS style) ☺

ETA:  wow, my card was chosen as one of the Outstanding Designs on CAS Mix Up challenge.

I used an adhesive stencil from the Dollar Tree and 4 Distress Oxide Inks - Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Broken China, and Fossilized Amber.  Like the tutorial said I smooshed them all over the stencil, sprayed it liberally with water and then lifted it, turned it over and pressed it against another piece of card.  I like the final result but it was kind of hard with the sticky back stencil,   I like the flower design, but will have to try it with another stencil.  Then I die cut this lovely  Poppy Stamps Floral Stem Collage from a panel the same size as my card base and adhered it over the monoprint piece.  I adhere the whole panel to the front of my card base and added a tiny pink enamel dot to the flower center.  I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black Birthday Wheels underneath the opening.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Lovely Birthday for PTI Make It Monday #333

Happy Monday friends.  I saw the challenge on PTI Make It Monday #333 and the lovely cards made by Dawn McVey using the Laying Patterns Over Images technique so I watched Dawn's video and had to give it a try.  I love the Gran's Garden set she used and just got the new Cover Up Grid stamp so I used those sets on my card.  The sentiment is from PTI Vintage Linens.

I used PTI Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, and Scarlet Jewel inks for the flowers.  I stamped the leaves with SU Pear Pizzazz.   The Cover Up Grid is stamped in white ink.  The sentiment panel is cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags die.  I put the piece back in the die to cut off the other end and adhered it with foam tape.  The green mat is SU Pear Pizzazz.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a lovely week.

Party Like a Pirate

Hello friends and happy Sunday.  This afternoon I made a birthday card for my Great Grandson whose birthday is coming up soon.  It will be going in the mail tomorrow so I wanted to share it.

I used this cute Party Like a Pirate stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.  I stamped the images and colored them with Copics and then die cut them.  For the background I tore a piece of paper and used temporary tape to adhere it to my card and then sponged Antique Linen DI for the sand.  I then adhere the other torn section over the sand and added a straight piece so I could sponge Salty Ocean DOI for the water.  I used my white gel pen to add some waves.  I used MFT Mini Cloud stencil and SU Bashful Blue ink (retired) for the sky.  I then stamped the birds and the sentiment from the same set.  I adhered the images with foam tape in a triangle so I am going to link up with MFT's Summer School  2018 - Visual Triangle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - No "Topping"

Hello Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time it is "Anything Goes" as long as it is birthday.

For my card I used this pretty Spellbinders Chantilly Paper Lace die (Tallulah Frill Layering Frame Small).  There are 3 pieces to the die set, but I just used the largest die.  It makes such an elegant looking die cut.  The flowers and leaves are from Avery Elle Floral Bouqet stamp set.  I fussy cut the flowers and leaves after coloring them with Copics.  The flowers are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is a Verve stamp.  I added 3 small yellow enamel dots under the sentiment.

Don't forget to check out all the fabulous cards by the design team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

The Flower Challenge #23 "One Layer Card"

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a friend at church using The Flower Challenge #23 "One Layer Card challenge.

For my card I stamped the flowers from SU Blended Seasons on Bristol Smooth card in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with my Copics. I also stamped a mask and fussy cut it so I could ink around the flowers.  My original intention was just to ink around the flowers but then I just inked the whole front of the card with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, gave it a quick dry with my heat gun, and then sprinkled some water on it.  I like that look.  I then stamped the sentiment from Verve Poppy Birthday in Tuxedo Black ink to finish my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate it when you take the time to leave me a comment.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello for Just Us Girls - Fast Watercolors

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for JUGS #453 - Fast Watercolors.
I watched Jennifer McGuire's YouTube video linked to at JUGS and then tried it for my card.  Mine is not as good as Jennifer's or the JUGS designers, but it is a fun technique to try.  I will have to try it again.
For my card I stamped flowers and leaves from Altenew Perfectly Perfect on watercolor paper and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I smeared Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink on part of the flower and Twisted Citron on the leaves and then sprayed lots of water on them.  I set them aside to dry and assembled my base card with a black mat and orange dotted paper from a Recollections pad, it matched the flower pretty close.  The white circle is die cut with PTI Shape Shifters - Circle 1 die.  I laid it upside down, replaced all the cut out pieces and covered it with foam tape to mount it to my card base.  After the flower was dry, I die cut them with the matching dies and mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are just glued down under the edge of the flower.  I die cut the Tutti Designs Hello die 3 times and layered them together for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls #452 - Beach

I just finished my beach card in time for the Just Us Girls Word Week challenge - Beach

I used this cute MFT Penguins in Paradise stamp set.  I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Promarkers, then fussy cut them, even though I have the matching dies.  I didn't want the white edges to show.  They are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I sponged the clouds using MFT Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and then sponged the water with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink.  I added the waves with my white gel pen.  The beach is a piece of SU Sahara Sand.  I inked the edges and also added ink around the palm tree and penguin for shadows.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello Friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card for a couple at church.  I have one more to make and I will have all August anniversaries done.
I used my new Altenew Creative Edges: Lace Die for the borders on the pink card and the flower is Clearly Besotted Perfect Peonies Stamp and die set.  I colored it with Copics and then die cut it.  It is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is a Stampabilities stamp from Hobby Lobby.  This was a fairly quick card and I think it turned out so pretty with that lace border die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Water

Hello friends and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge.  This time our "Toppings" option is to use a water theme.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that it has to be a birthday project.
For my card I used MFT Splendid Swans stamps and dies.  I colored them with copics and then die cut them.  I added them with foam tape to a panel sponged with Distress Inks for the water.  I mounted this to an MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle die cut and mounted that with foam tape.  The sentiment is from MFT Pretty Poppies (discontinued).

You should pop over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the great cards by my teammates.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello Friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card I made for a couple at church.  I used two challenges to make my card.  Just Us Girls - Photo Week
I used Concord & 9th Plaid Background Stamp in SU Peekaboo Peach ink for the background and mounted it on a black MFT Blueprint 20 scallop die cut.  The heart and the flower image are from Impression Obsession Floral Heart Set.  I colored them with Promarkers and fussy cut them.  They are both mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from a Verve set.  I added Studio G Self-Adhesive Gems in black to the flower center and also tiny ones around the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.
