Cover Die-Eclipse

Hello friends.  I have a new card and a new technique to share today.  I saw the Group of Seven Cardmakers technique of Cover Die Eclipse. After seeing the teams lovely cards and watching Gina K's video I had to give it a try.

After looking through several dies and cover plates I finally decided on Pinkfresh Studios Choose Hope stamp set and Simple Diamonds Cover Plate, and this is the card I came up with.

I cut 2 panels of 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 white panels and stamped the image on both panels using my SU Stamparatus.  I colored the images with SU Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Blends and then cut one panel with the Simple Diamonds die.  I also cut 2 more plain white layers and glued them together and then glued the cut stamped panel on top for dimension (I saw Gina also did this in her video).  I like the dimension it gives.  I glued these layers over the stamped image, aligning it up, and then glued to my white card base.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Go To Greetings and flagged the ends.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape in the middle and glued the ends over the die cut.

You need to check out this fun technique over at Group of Seven Cardmakers and give it a try.

Thank You Card

Hello friends.  I have a Thank You card to share today.  I made this one for our Pastor's wife and she loves purple.  I added a few pink flowers also.

ETA:  My card was one of the March Top 3 Winners at Triple B Challenge.

Top 3 Winner Badge

also one of the Top 3 at Can You Handle the Pressure.

TOP 3 Badge

For the background I used Spellbinders Stylized Trellis and embossed a panel of SU Purple Posy, then glued it to the white card base.  The sentiment is die cut with Memory Box Thank You Posh Script and layered together, then glued to the panel.  The flowers are made with Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and Club Blooms dies.  I cut the pink flowers from lt. pink and then blended some darker pink ink on them. I arranged them in the corner and glued the leaves and buds under them.

I will add this to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms & Butterflies.
Please share our badge!

Thanks to Darlene, I will also add this to Can You Handle the Pressure (but didn't do the optional twist for birds)

Spring Florals for STB

Hello Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda wants to see Spring Floral on our cards.  Of course, this is right up my alley as I love making floral cards (which 90% of my cards are).😉

For my card I used a new to me floral set form Newton's Nook callked Easter Lily (very appropriate since Easter is this Sunday).  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers.  I fussy cut the image as I did not have a die for it.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments and cut with the matching die.  I mounted the sentiment and flowers with foam tape to a white panel die cut with Sunny Studios Frilly Frames Eyelet Lace (scalloped frame) along with Sunny Studios Frilly Frames Lattice (inner section).  I saw this card by Lin and love the lattice frame look.  The frame was mounted to a light green panel and then to a white card base.

I will link to Darnell's NBUS challenge as this is my first time using this stamp set.

Be sure to check out all the gorgeous floral cards by the team and our guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues - Blue & Cream

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made this one using the colors from Color Hues - Blue & Cream.

I used Spellbinders Infinity Punch & Pierce Plate for the navy blue panel, leaving out the center panel,  and mounted it on a cream card base.  I stamped the sentiment from The Greetery Arched Sentiments in SU Blueberry Bushel.  The cream flowers are die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs Florals 7.  I sponged SU Balmy Blue ink in the centers and shaped the petals before gluing the layers together. The leaves are cut from lt. blue with a Spellbinders die.  I sponged white ink around the edges of the leaves and glued them under the flowers.  I added the fancy rhinestones from Hobby Lobby to the flower centers and my card was done.

Seize the Birthday - Coordinating Card & Tag

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules would like us to make a coordinating card & tag.  Of course it can be anything goes, as long as it is for a birthday.

For my card I used my new stamp & die set from Pinkfresh Studio called You're the Best.  After die cutting the pretty flowers, I laid them on the Blushing Bride cardstock and the white just popped, so I only added a little color to the centers of the flowers and colored the leaves with Copics.  The Blushing Bride panels are embossed with one of the SU 3D Basic EF (cross=hatch).    I clipped a little off of the 2 flowers on my card and arranged the leaves on the top flower.  I mounted them with foam tape.  I stamped both sentiments from SU Go To Greetings and angled the strip across the card and the tag.  Lastly, I added a Baker's Twine bow to the tag.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous card & tag cobos by the team and our guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope you join in our fun challenge.

I will link to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is my first time using the flower & die set.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.

I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms dies cut in cream (flowers & buds) and then sponged them with SU Crisp Cantaloupe ink (ret.) I added rhinestones to the flower centers for a little bling.  The leaves & stems were cut from SU Soft Succulent cardstock.  I mounted them on a cream panel and a Crisp Cantaloupe mat cut with SU Countryside Corners dies.  The sentiment is stamped in SU Soft Succulent.  I mounted this panel with foam tape to a cream panel embossed with Spellbinders Dazzling Dots EF.

I made my card with two challenges in mind -
Color Throwdown - Peach, Sage Green, & Cream

and Can You Handle the Pressure - Use an embossing folder, with a twist of bling.

Another card for Color Hues

Hello Friends.  I made another card with the same supplies as my last card with a couple of changes.

While I had the Flower Shop stamp set out, I stamped more flowers in Bermuda Bay ink and added them to a panel cut with Concord & 9th Festive Corner die.  I added a panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock under the white cut out panel and then added it to the white card base.  I used some different leaves from a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is the same but I added it on a slant with foam tape.

I will link to Color Hues as I like this color combination and had fun playing with it.

Birthday Card for Two Challenges

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I made this one with the colors from Color Hues Challenge - Turquoise & Green, using Tic Tac Toe Challenge 242.

I used the right column down on Tic Tac Toe's challenge board - Floral, Embossing & Favorite Color (which is any shade of blue).  I used an older SU Flower Shop stamp & punch set for the pretty blooms which are stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.  I shaped the petals and added a fancy rhinestone to the centers.  The leaves are die cut from two shades of green using an Altenew die and an older SU die.  I placed the blooms on an embossed panel with Spellbinders Woven EF (love the texture), then added the leaves around them.  The sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts (ret.) is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, die cut with an oval die and matted with a scallop Bermuda Bay die cut.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made my card for JUGS Challenge -  using the colors from Color Throwdown (Sage, Rose, Burgundy).

ETA:  My card was an Honorable Mention at Just Us Girls.

I chose to copy Carol McFarland on the JUGS DT.  Love her layout with the 4 circles and the sentiment in the center and the white panel with the scallop edges.  I used Taylored Expressions Playful Plaid Background stamp to stamp a white panel in SU Soft Succulent ink (ret.).  I trimmed this panel and mounted it on a white panel cut with MFT Blueprints 27 die for the scallop edges.  For the circles I punched 4 white circles and matted them on Merry Merlot scallop circles.  I die cut 4 flowers from MFT Box Card Bouquet in SU Rococo Rose (ret.) and mounted them to the circles. I added Soft Succulent die cut leaves and a rhinestone to the centers of the flowers, then mounted the circles with foam tape.  I glued this panel to a Soft Succulent panel then to my white card base.  The sentiment from SU Sweet as a Peach (ret.) is stamped in Merry Merlot ink and mounted with foam tape.
