Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends.  Since I am making Christmas cards at the moment, I thought Michele's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #751 was perfect to use for one so this is what I made.

I had this Lawn Fawn Stitched Poinsettia already made from SU Cherry Cobbler cs and wanted to use it. I added 3 small gold gems to the center.  For the background I embossed a panel of white with Spellbinders Vintage Ornaments EF and glued it to the white card base.  I cut a panel of green using MFT Stitched Rectangles and shortened it to a square by running it back thought my Big Shot and then mounted it with foam tape.  I cut Altenew Burlap Texture Die from SU Crumb Cake and added that to the green square - it is larger than the small square in the sketch, but I hope it is o.k.  I then added the poinsettia and some leaves cut from a different green and the sentiment - a Betterpress Sentiment from Spellbinders.  One more card to add to my Christmas stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Freshly Made Sketches #750

Hello friends.  I used Freshly Made Sketches #750 to make another Christmas card.
ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

I had this cute little elf from Penny Black Sing Joy already colored and cut in the package and thought I would use her.  I cut two white Spellbinders Essential Diamonds and layered them together and them mounted the cute elf with foam tape.  For the background, I embossed a panel of SU Basic Beige with Spellbinders Christmas Tile EF and mounted it to the white card base.   I added 2 narrow strips of red behind the diamond and glued it all to the embossed panel.  The sentiment and music notes are from the the same stamp & matching die set.  I cut the sentiment apart and mounted it with foam, then glued the music notes around.  I really like this card and will probably give it to a friend at church who teaches the young kids music.

I will also share this at Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge - anything goes Christmas.

and also to Can You Handle the Pressure - use an embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for FMS 732

Hello friends.  I am making cards again and this one is for my daughter's birthday in May.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the color teal as she loves teal.

I used Altenew Darling Dahlia dies for the pretty blooms cut from SU Pretty Peacock and the leaves from Granny Apple Green.  I added some black enamel dots to the center of each bloom.  I thought the black/white pattern paper went good with the teal color so I added a strip to the left of the card base, as in the photo. The flowers are in a slightly different angle but I hope they are o.k.  I added a small strip of black to the edge and then arranged the flowers for the circles in the sketch.  I thought about embossing the white but left it plain and stamped an older SU sentiment to the bottom right.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Freshly Made Sketches #728

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card made with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Thanks Narelle for a fun sketch.  Lots of inspiration by the team and in the gallery.  I am glad I could get a card done.

I used Spellbinders Club Blooms for the pretty flowers and leaves.  I cut the flowers from SU Pale Papaya (ret) and blended SU Grapefruit Grove Ink (ret) in the centers.  The larger flowers are 2 pieces glued together.  I cut the centers from Soft Suede card.  The leaves are cut from Soft Sea Foam and I blended Bundled Sage DOI on them.  I glued the flowers and leaves on a panel of SU Basic Beige embossed with SU Cross-Hatch EF, and then to the white card base.  The sentiment is from an older SU set, stamped in Soft Suede ink and mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Card #5 for March

Hello friends.  Well, it has been a week since I posted but I was finally able to get my last anniversary card for March done and I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
ETA;  My card was one of the runner ups at FMS.
I used SU Charming Day stamps & dies for the pretty blooms.  I stamped them twice and colored with SU Melon Mambo and Soft Succulent (ret.) Blends.  After die cutting them, I mounted them with foam tape to a panel embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF and then to the white card base.  I added the stamped sentiment from an older Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set to the center using foam tape also.  A fairly quick and easy card but I love the finished results.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Blessings

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card to share today.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches to make my card, but made a regular A2 size instead of a square.

ETA:  My card was one of those chosen as a Princess at Freshly Made Sketches.

I cut a strip of SU Misty Moonlight and embossed it with Altenew Textured Tiles EF and glued it on the left side of the card.  The flowers and stem/leaves were made with Spellbinders Stylish Oval Hello You Floral.  I cut the flowers from SU Cloud Cover and blended Blueberry Bushel ink over the layers and shaped them with my stylus before gluing together.  I added the smaller flower to make it a fuller bloom, and then added the fancy rhinestone to the centers.  The stem & leaves were cut from Granny Apple Green and I blended a darker ink to the bottom edges of the leaves.  I cut the stem and leaves apart and placed them where I wanted to give it a circular feel..  The sentiment is from a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set and is mounted with foam tape.  This card will be going to a couple at church.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for FMS

Hello friends.  I love the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and had to play along.  I finally decided on which papers I wanted to use and this is what I came up with.

I used pattern paper from SU Lily Pond Lane (ret.) to cut the slanted panel.  I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms to cut the stems (Mossy Meadow) and flowers (white) to resemble the ones in the paper.  I trimmed some of the stems off the main one and left 3, to fit the flowers and like some of the flowers in the pattern paper.  I glued the stems along the bottom edge and then added a strip of black.  The sentiment is from an older SU set, but I love the font and the size of it, so I use it quite often.  After gluing the flowers on, I added clear rhinestones to the centers and the card was done.  I like the finished card and will be sending it to a friend soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Noel for FMS #702

Hello friends.  I am working on getting Christmas cards done and I thought the sketch at FMS would look good with a poinsettia for the circle element and the 2 leaves for the other elements.  This is what I came up with.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess cards at FMS.

I embossed a white panel with Spellbinders Holly & Foliage EF and glued it to the white card base.  The poinsettia is made with Concord & 9th Festive Blooms Dies with lt. pink card from my stash.  I blended a little pink ink to the centers.  I just used the individual dies and layered the poinsettia for a fuller bloom.  The leaves are cut with dies from SU Poinsettia Petals (ret.) as is the silver foil center on the poinsettia.  Noel is cut using Simon Hurley Handwritten Holiday Sentiments from Spellbinders.  I cut the top layer from white and the mat from silver foil.  I added little strips of foam for dimension and mounted it. I really like the finished card and may have to make a couple more, maybe with a red poinsettia.

I am linking to Freshly Made Sketches #702.
I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used these two die sets.

I realized it is Die Week at Darnell's IDEAS so will share this there also.

Freshly Made Sketches #687

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I just got this set from Gina K. Designs called Spring Clusters and thought the floral images were perfect for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I stamped the daisy image and colored it with Promarkers (alcohol markers).  I also stamped one of the other images. After die cutting with the matching dies, I snipped the longer leaves from the ends and tucked them under the ends of the daisy flower image.  I mounted the flowers to a panel embossed with SU Crosshatch EF.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set and die cut it with the matching die and also cut two plain layers then glued them together for dimension and glued it to the panel.  I really like the finished card.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using this set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

This is the Day for FMS

Hello friends.  I am getting my card finished just in time to link to the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This is the first time I have used the Papertrey Ink January Psalms and Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket and I love the way it turned out. I added two tiny flowers from Spellbinders Petite Floral Potpourri cut in coral cardstock and green for the leaves.  I added two small gold brads to the centers and mounted the sentiment frame and flowers with foam tape.  The lt. green pattern paper has a faint pattern that didn't show up well, so I embossed it with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.).

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this the first time using these stamps & dies.

Happy Birthday for Freshly Made Sketches

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I received some new goodies last week and was playing with this stamp & die set from Taylored Expressions - Meadow Aster.  I had the flower stamped, colored and die cut when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and thought it would fit perfectly, so this is my card.

I colored the flowers with SU Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends and added a small black enamel dot (Altenew) to the center of each flower.  I mounted them with foam tape to a white panel embossed with a SU 3D EF and then glued to the card front.  I added the strip of yellow pattern paper from my stash.  The sentiment is from SU Go To Greetings, also mounted with foam tape over the flower stem.

I will also add this to The Flower Challenge - Color Your Flower
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for FMS

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made this one for a couple at church using the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Princess Picks at FMS. Thank you Karren.

I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms die set, cutting the large flower and 3 small flowers from white and then blending SU Tahitian Tide ink in the centers.  The small buds are cut from Tahitian Tide Cardstock.  The leaves and stems are cut from a scrap of lt. green on my desk.  I mounted these to a panel die cut with a SU Scallop Contours die.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Celebrating You.  I glued a strip of Tahitian Tide Pattern Paper across the card base and then mounted the die cut panel with foam tape.  The large flower is also mounted with foam tape.  I really like the finished card and hope you do also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday with Two Tone Flora

Hello friends.  I made a birthday card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

I used SU Two Tone Floral stamps and dies for the pretty yellow blooms and the leaves.  The blooms are stamped in Crushed Curry and So Safron and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz on Pear Pizzazz card.  The Soft Sea Foam panel is embossed with the Tasteful Textile EF.  I added the white strip across the bottom after stamping the sentiment from an older SU set.  I mounted the blooms with foam tape and glued the leaves under the edges.  I added two yellow gems for the final touch.

Happy Birthday for 3 challenges

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I had 3 different challenges in mind when I made this card.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the colors from Color Throwdown Challenge (red, green and brown) and AAA Birthday Challenge - Anything Birthday Goes.

I stamped the pretty bud from Altenew Peony Bouquet 3 times, colored it with SU Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green, and then die cut it with the matching die.  I die cut 3 small stitched squares from SU Chocolate Chip (ret.) to mount them on.  I mounted them with foam tape under the bud and glued the stems down.  The green pattern paper is from my stash.  The sentiment from SU Celebrate With Flowers (ret.) is stamped in Choc. Chip ink.  I thought the vertical sentiment would be perfect with the sketch design.

Merry Christmas for FMS

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share made with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I stamped the pretty poinsettia from SU Merriest Moments in Blushing Bride and the leaves in Mint Macaron.  I cut them with the matching dies and mounted with foam tape to a circle cut from Encircled in Friendship dies.  The 3 strips are Blushing Bride cardstock.  These were mounted to a panel embossed with Tasteful Textile EF and then to the card base.  The greeting is a stamp and die by Waffle Flower - Essential Sentiments - stamped in Mint Macaron.  I added a gold glitter gem to the center of the poinsettia.

I will also link to Jingle Bells Christmas card challenge (Thanks Bonnie)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a good friend I am sharing today.  I made my card for two challenges.

I used this pretty flower spray from Clearly Besotted Beautiful Friend.  I stamped it twice, colored it with SU Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut both images and layered them over the curve of the PTI Hawaiian Shores dotted paper, (I hope the curve is visible enough for the sketch challenge). This is mounted on a white panel embossed with an older Quickutz Polka Dots EF.  The flowers are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment from SU Fancy Phrases is stamped on a punched label and mounted with foam tape.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today based on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was looking through my unused pieces and found this panel which I used a mask and sponged the yellow in the center of the panel and then embossed a stripe stamp over it with white embossing powder.  I thought his worked well with the sketch.  The butterflies are stamped and die cut with an old Sizzix/Hero Arts set, and colored with Copics.  I glued them just in the centers and raised the wings slightly.  I stamped "happy" from SU Pretty Perennials, fussy cut around it, and then mounted it with foam tape.  Birthday is from SU Well Said set and mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  Today I have a birthday card to share.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
and the colors from the new Color Hues Challenge by my good friend Nancy Leppek. The colors for their first challenge are yellow and green.

I used SU So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz inks for the pretty flower from PinkFresh Layered Bouquet and matching die.  The stripe pattern paper is some older paper.  The sentiment is from SU Blossoms In Bloom and cut with an MFT Stitched Fishtail Flag die.  I cut one end and then inserted it back in the die and cut the other end.  The flower and sentiment are mounted with foam tape on a white panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF (love this EF).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn
