Seize the Birthday - Tic-Tac-Toe

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Ashwini has a Tic-Tac-Toe grid for us to choose from for our birthday cards.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.
I chose the diagonal line from top right to bottom left - one image, flowers, large sentiment.  Of course I had to choose flowers. :) Thanks Ashwini for adding flowers.

The flower image is from SU BIrthday Blooms (retired), but I love using it.  I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, then fussy cut it out.  I sprayed it with my shimmer mist spray (70% alcohol and a few drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint), then mounted it with foam tape to a white panel that is embossed with the new SU Tasteful Textile EF.  The large sentiment is die cut with SU Well Said dies.  I cut if from brown card as I colored the flower stamens with brown.

You can see the shimmer a little better in this photo.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by our party guest and my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Sending Healing Thoughts

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card for a friend who is recovering from recent surgery and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her.
I used Gina K. Designs Stippled Flowers for the pretty flowers and sentiment.  I colored them with SU Flirty Flamingo & Granny Apple Green Blends and die cut them with the matching dies.  I mounted the flower and bud with foam tape and glued the leaves under the flower.  The sentiment is cut with an MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags die.  I partially cut it and then stuck it back in the die to cut the other end.  I mounted this with foam tape also.  The white panel is cut with Sunny Studio Frilly Frames-Lattice die and makes such a lovely background for the pretty flowers.

I am linking my card to the Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge - Friendship. (Hero Arts stamps not required)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

I am sharing an anniversary card I made for a couple at church.
The flower is from Altenew/Pinkfresh Celebrate Us stamp and die set.  It is a layered set so I stamped the flower in So Safron and Crushed Curry.  I stamped the So Safron layer twice using my Stamparatus to make it a little darker.  The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz and I added Soft Sea Foam with my markers.  The white die cut panel is cut with A Gina Marie Designs die and glued to the card base.  I mounted the flower with foam tape.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates.  I added 3 small yellow pearls and my card was done.

I am linking to Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - Occasions as an anniversary is a very special occasion.

CAS Christmas Challenge - Nativity

Hello friends.  Today I have a Christmas card to share for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Nativity.
I had a boo-boo on my first card, so gave it another try and this is what I came up with.  I cut a white panel using Lil' Inker Designs die and then sponged Tumbled Glass DI in the center.  I stamped the sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy O Holy Night with Versamark Ink and embossed in gold.  I then die cut the nativity from gold foil paper with a Taylored Expressions die.  I glued it flat to the white panel and then added a thin pale blue mat and added this to the card base with foam tape. I was pleased with the final card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

Card for The Paper Players Using Mojo Monday Sketch #541

Hello friends.  I made this card for LeAnne's color challenge at The Paper Players.

ETA:  Yea, my card was the headliner at The Paper Players.

I love the soft color palette and was really pleased with the final results of my card.  I stamped the flower from  the Celebrate Us set by Altenew & Pink Fresh  I colored it with So Safron and Smokey Slate Blends and die cut it with the matching die.  The white panel is embossed with SU Tufted EF and matted with a thin Smokey Slate.  I then added the Seaside Spray and Smokey Slate pattern papers.  I die cut a stitched square from white and matted it with Smokey Slate, then adhered it with foam tape.  The flower is also mounted with foam tape.  I added a few Seaside Spray Faced Gems.  I will add a sentiment when I decide who to send the card to or I might just write something on the inside.  I think it looks good without a sentiment.

I used Mojo Monday Sketch #541  for the layout of my card.

I have to share this at The Flower Challenge also as I love making flower cards and I can enter up to 5 times.  This is my 4th time. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day and that you are staying safe.

Seize the Birthday - Non-Neutral Card Base

We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and this time Glenda has chosen "non-neutral card base" for our Toppings option.  Remember the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.
I thought about what color I wanted to use for my card base and I had this piece of Blueberry Bushel on my table, along with the pretty flower from Tasteful Touches stamp set already stamped in blue, so I thought that was a great place to start.  I chose Spellbinders Venise Lace to die cut a panel of white. I stamped the sentiment using two different stamps.  I had to trace over the word birthday (Simon Says Stamp) as a couple of spots did not stamp well.  Happy is from SU Well Said.  I mounted this panel with foam tape and added the pretty bloom with foam tape also.  The leaves from SU Forever Fern are stamped in Garden Green, die cut with the matching die, and glued under the edge of the flower petals.  I sprayed the flower and leaves with a mixture of 70% alcohol and Champagne Shimmer Paint for some glittery shine - it looks so pretty in real life but doesn't show up in the photo.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates and our guest designer Jen over at Seize the Birthday and I hope you join us in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

I have another anniversary card to share.  This one is for my hairdresser.  Today is their anniversary so I told her I would make her a card.  I hope she likes it.  I will find out tomorrow.
Edited:  She loved the card.
I used Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel cardstock and ink.  The Balmy Blue panel is embossed with Stylish Scroll EF.  The white panel is stamped with flowers and leaves from Beautiful Friendship.  After stamping, I sprayed the panel with (alcohol & Champagne Mist) shimmery spray for a little sparkle.  I then added the die cut band from the Band Together set and trimmed it to the same width as the image panel.  The sentiment from Many Mates is stamped on a stitched oval and mounted to the die cut.  I was pleased with the final result, after all, blue is my favorite color. ☺

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for the Color Throwdown

I love the colors at the Color Throwdown Challenge this week and was able to get a card done for it.  Of course I used a floral stamp, no surprise there. :)
I stamped the background panel with Pinkfresh Studio Diamond Tiles with SSS Intense Black ink.  The flowers are from Newton's Nook Peony Blooms stamped in black and colored with SU Real Red and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I added a little yellow to the flower centers.  I mounted the flowers on an oval die cut mounted to a red scallop oval die cut and then mounted it with foam tape to the card.  I added a little foam tape to each end of the florals that stuck over the ovals.  The sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moments.

I am also linking this one to The Flower Challenge - Summer/Winter challenge.

Happy Anniversary

I have another anniversary card to share with you today.  This one will be going to some very good friends I graduated high school with so I wanted to make it special.
I used my new Altenew Celebrate Today stamp and die set.  I colored the image with SU Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Blends and then cut it out with the matching die.  I sprayed the die cut with my shimmer spray but it doesn't show up in the photo and I didn't take another one before I mail it.  The sentiment is an old one from Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments.  I stamped it and then fussy cut around each word.  The flowers and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.  The die cut background is from Honey Bee Stamps Winter Prism.

I will link this one to The Flower Challenge also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

Anniversary Card for The Flower Challenge

Happy 4th of July
MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA

I am catching up on my anniversary and birthday cards for July so I have another anniversary card to share with you today.  This is for a lovely couple at church.
I used a stamped image from a friend (I think it is Budding Peony by CTMH).  I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol (after watching a recent video by Gina K).  I hadn't used these in quite awhile.  I love the final result on the colored image.  I fussy cut the image and mounted it with foam tape on a panel of SU Tasteful Textures DSP.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates and is stamped on a stitched oval die cut and mounted on a scalloped oval die cut. This is mounted with foam tape also.  I added 3 small pink rhinestones for a little bling.

I am linking to The Flower Challenge - Summer/Winter - I think my peony is a beautiful summer flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Red, White, and Blue

Hello friends and Happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I am the host this time.  Since we are right at the 4th of July, I thought it would be nice to have Red, White and Blue as our "Toppings" option.  Can't wait to see your cards in our gallery.

I used SU Painted Poppies Stamps and dies.  I colored the flowers with SU Real Red and Poppy Parade Blends and fussy cut them out.  I stamped the leaves in Night of Navy ink and fussy cut them.  The sentiment from Simply Sketched (retired SU) is stamped on a Stitched So Sweetly die cut mounted with foam tape.  The flowers are also mounted with foam tape.  The pattern paper is from an older 6x6 pad.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday and join in our fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
