Fun Fold Card

Hello friends.  I have new fun fold birthday card to share today.  I have seen several of these style cards on Pinterest so I decided to give it a try.  This card is for a special friend who has cows.

I used this cute MFT set The Whole Herd.  I stamped two of the cows, colored with Copics and then fussy cut them.   I sponged lt. green and lt. blue ink on the white panel and then stamped some grass with a really old CTMH stamp that I use a lot.  I also added a few birds from another set.  The pattern paper is from a SU Sale-a-Bration set, Perfectly Penned.  I masked off portions of the sentiment stamp to fit it on my little label die cut, cut 3 labels and layered them for sturdiness. The cows and the sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

The image panel is a separate layer that attaches to the card base, folds and tucks under the sentiment label when closed.  The photo below shows it opened.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes which is featuring MFT stamps this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - By the Sea

ETA:  Yea!!  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy has chosen By the Sea for our "Toppings" option.  We also have a new member joining our team - Julie Peddicord (Jules).  Be sure to check out her blog.

I used an older (2008) stamp set by Our Daily Bread Designs (now Divinity Designs) and colored it with Copics.  I die cut it with a circle die and the black mat with a larger circle die and then mounted it with foam tape to a panel embossed with an older Cuttlebug EF.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Happy Sayings and the die from Lawn Fawn Simple Wavy Banners, then mounted with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday and join in this fun challenge.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew

Hello friends! And welcome to the Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop with Altenew!
The purpose of this hop is to raise awareness of all the challenge blogs
out there.  There is lots of inspiration and also prizes to be won.  The graphic shows the blogs participating and a list is on the Altenew blog.

Seize the Birthday is one of the challenge blogs participating and I am happy to join with Seize the Birthday.

I used 3 different Altenew sets for my card - Sweet Flowers and dies (flowers), Peony Bouquet (leaves) and Birthday Greetings for the sentiment. I colored the images with Copics and SU Blends. The flowers are mounted with foam tape.  I also used the Altenew Grid Stencil and Hickory Smoke DOI for the background on my white panel.  I used a fan brush and water DOI to splatter the background but the splatters are so fine you can hardly see them.  I was just going to mat the white panel but then I tried angling the two panels and I liked it better.  The green mat is SU Wild Wasabi (retired).

I will also link to The Flower Challenge - use a die

Happy Birthday for Color Hues

Hello friends.  Thanks for stopping by.  I have a card I made for the current Color Hues challenge - Pink and Yellow.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Watercooler Rockers

I just got these new Picture This dies from Stampin Up and used them to die cut the white panel and then placed it over a panel of pattern paper from an old pad I had called Watercolor by Ms. Sparkle & Co.  I don't remember where I got it but I like it and it was perfect for the challenge.  I colored the flower from MFT Magnolia Blooms with SU So Saffron and Crumb Cake Blends.  I cut it with my Scan n' Cut as I don't have the matching dies.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape and then stamped the sentiment from a retired SU set.  This is mounted on a Sahara Sand card base.

Merry Christmas for CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Hello friends.  I am glad you stopped by. I created a card for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Decorations.

I used Memory Box Clairmont Ornaments and die cut the different sections from gold foil, red and green glitter paper I had in my stash.  I pieced them together on a white panel that I sponged Speckled Egg DOI on for a background for the pretty ornaments.  I also die cut 3 small berries from another set and added them to the leaves.  The sentiment is from SU For Unto Us set.  I added a thin black mat and then to the card base and my card was done.  I think those sparkly ornaments are so pretty in person.

I will also link this to the NBUS blog as this is the first time I have used this die even though I have had it a couple of years.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card for some good friends that I am sharing today.

The flowers are from MFT Magnolia Blooms.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with SU BLends Petal Pink and Old Olive.  I fussy cut the flower and  mounted it with foam tape over Pink & Main Plaid Cover Die Panel A and also Panel B.  I glued the two die cuts together and they look so pretty together, as well as individually.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates, stamped in Soft Suede on a die cut from the Stitched So Pretty die set and mounted with foam tape..  The Soft Suede ink  looks good with the cream cardstock and as an afterthought, I wish I had stamped the flower in a brown ink.

I am linking to The Flower Challenge - Use a Die  (I used 3 dies)

Seize the Birthday - Stripes

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Vicki has chosen stripes as our topping option.

The striped paper is from SU Hand Penned and the pretty white frame is from SU Ornate Layers dies.  I stamped the flower, bud and leaves from Pretty Pink Posh Peonies stamp set, colored them with Copics and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I mounted the large flower with foam tape and glued the bud and leaves under it.  The sentiment is from SU Magnolia Blooms (retired).  I love the font in this sentiment and use it quite a lot.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team and our new "Party Guest" Jenny, over at Seize the  Birthday.   I hope to see you in our gallery.

Hello

Hi friends.  I have a card for a friend that I made with the theme from CAS Mix-Up - Stamping Through Stencil.

I was inspired by Bonnie's card the way she stamped the script through the stencil on the flowers.  I love making cards with flowers so this is how mine turned out.

I used Pretty Pink Posh Peonies Stencil and DOI Picked Raspberry & Bundled Sage inks.  I used the same flower and masked off sections of the stencil, stamped the script from SU Very Versallies in Crumb Cake ink after sponging each flower and leaves individually.  I used a yellow marker to add the dots to the center of the flowers.  I then die cut the panel with a stitched oval die and mounted it with foam tape on a panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF.  I used Bundled Sage DOI to ink a small scrap and then die cut the hello sentiment.  I die cut 2 white layers, glued them all  together and then to the card front..

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

Yea, my card was one of the Top 3 Winners at the Dies R Us Challenge.

Top Three Badge

The colors are SU Pale Papaya, Grapefruit Grove and Pear Pizzazz.  The flowers are die cut with Memory Box Layered Fresh Flowers, Grapefruit Grove, and the leaves with an older SU set in Pear Pizzazz.  I die cut the center twice, layered it and then added it to the flower.  I also added a rhinestone to the center and added it to the panel with foam tape. The Pale Papaya panel is cut with Memory Box Pinpoint Burst Plate and then with a SU Scalloped Contour die.  The white doily is from SU Encircled in Beauty dies.  I stamped the sentiment from Magnolia Blooms (retired) and mounted it with foam tape, and then the panel was added to a thick white card base.

My card fits two challenge themes so I will link Dies R Us Challenge - Anything Goes
Grab our Badge!

and to Global Design Project - Flower Power (my favorite kind of card to make is with flowers and I have LOTS of flower stamps & dies)
