Seize the Birthday - Stripe it Up

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules is our host this time.  She has chosen Stripe it Up for out "toppings" option.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that has to be for a birthday.

I used MFT Bold Stripes Cover Plate cut from white card and mounted it to a Sahara Sand card base.  The flowers are from MFT Wildflowers stamp and die set (discontinued).  I colored them with SU Soft Suede (centers of flowers) Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends, die cut them and arranged them on the bottom of the card.  The flowers are mounted with foam tape and the leaves are glued under them. The sentiment is stamped on one of the stripes of the die cut.

Be sure to check out all the great cards with stripes by the design team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

I Spot Someone Who's Having a Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today that I made for a cute little one that turned one this past weekend.

I used MFT Saddle Up and Celebrate stamps and die set.  All the images and sentiment are from that set except the fence and grass dies which are from a new SU set.  I cut the fence from woodgrain paper and 3 grass pieces from green card.  I colored the images with alcohol markers and mounted them with foam tape on a panel sponged with lt. blue for the sky and green for the grass area.  I matted the panel on a Soft Suede mat and then to the card base.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Happy Birthday in Yellow & Teal

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card I made for the Color Hues challenge with Light Teal and Yellow but didn't get it posted in time due to an early appointment this morning.  I wanted to share it anyway.

I used my new Memory Box Enchanting Poppy Stems die cut from SU Daffodil Delight and MFT Summer Splash cardstock.  I inked the bottom edges of the flowers with Crushed Curry ink and the bottom layer of the leaves with Summer Splash inks.  The flowers are mounted with foam tape and the stems and leaves are glued down on a panel which I lightly sponged Summer Splash ink onver Tim Holtz Dot Fade Layering Stencil.  This panel is mounted to a pale teal envelope I recycled and it matched perfectly.

I will link to MYNBUS challenge as this is the first time I have used the Memory Box die.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Photo Week

Hello friends. It is my fourth and last week as guest designer for Just Us Girls and I have really enjoyed it.  Thank you to all the designers for having me join you in these fun challenges.  This week is Photo Week and we have a fun photo to inspire you.

Here is a closer look at the photo.

and here is my card.

I was inspired by the blue birds, yellow flowers and cute little butterfly.  I used SU Friendly Hello which was a free Sale-A-Bration set and I am so glad I got it.  The bird on the branch is from that set.  I stamped it, colored it with alcohol markers, and fussy cut it, as there is no die to match it.  I mounted this with foam tape on a white die cut circle matted with a black die cut circle.  The little butterflies  are from another set and I fussy cut them also and just glued the bodies down.  Hello Friend is a Memory Box die, cut from white and black..  The blue check panel is mounted on a black mat also, to tie everything together, and then to the card base.

I will also link to Tic Tac Toe Challenge ( I used the middle row across - butterfly, free, flowers)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope to see you in the gallery at Just Us Girls.
Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for The Paper Players

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I had to play in the The Paper Players challenge this week, which is Blooms, as this is my favorite kind of card to make.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

I used Spellbinder's Magnolia Blooms (love this set and have used it several times) for the pretty blooms.  I die cut the solid bottom layer from white and sponged pink ink where the flowers are.  The top die cut layer has solid leaves so I masked the flower part and sponged green ink over the leaves, I then glued the two layers together and mounted it with foam tape on a panel cut with my new Paper to Ink Border Bling: Tin Stitched Die.  Birthday is from The Greetery Birthday Blooms stamp and die set.  Wishes is from a retired SU set and both are mounted with foam tape.  This panel is mounted to the card front and my card is done.

I will link to My NBUS challenge as this is the first time I have used the Ink to Paper die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Color Week

Hello friends,  It is my third week as guest designer at Just Us Girls and this is Color Week.  I love these soft and pretty colors and I think you will enjoy using them on your cards, I know I did.

I cut a panel of ivory card with Pinkfresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Plaid and mounted it to the ivory card base.  The flower from Ink to Paper Into the Blooms: Dahlia Dies is cut from SU Blushing Bride.  I inked the edges of the petals and shaped them before assembling the 3 layers, added a gemstone to the center and mounted it with foam tape.  The leaves are cut from SU Soft Succulent and I also inked the edges.  Birthday is stamped in Soft Succulent with The Greetery Birthday Blooms and die cut with the matching die.  Happy is from a retired SU set.  These are mounted with foam tape.  For a final touch, I added 3 small clear rhinestones.  I love the final card with these pretty colors.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope to see you in the gallery at Just Us Girls.
Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday in Green and White

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I am the hostess this week.  I have chosen the theme of Green and White for our "Topping" option since it is St. Patrick's Day.  If you are not into the "Topping" option, your card/project just has to be for a birthday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.

I had several thoughts on these colors but finally decided on flowers (no surprise there).  I used the small daisy from SU Daisy Lane stamp set and stamped it 4 times in Soft Sea Foam, stamping off first before stamping for a lighter effect.  I punched them with the matching punch and shaped them with my fingers, then glued two together and added a green rhinestone to the centers.  I embossed a panel of Soft Sea Foam CS with Spellbinders Plaid EF.  The white panel is die cut with a SU Ornate Layers die.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts in Wild Wasabi ink and mounted the panel with foam tape.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape also and added Pear Pizzazz leaves die cut with a SU Forever Flourishing die.   I cut it apart and spread it out.  The final touch was the 3 small green rhinestones under the sentiment.

Be sure to check our all the fabulous cards by my teammates and our party guest over at Seize the Birthday.  I look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Trend Week

Hello friends.  This is my second week as guest designer at JUGS and this is Trend Week.  The trend is Embossing Folders.  You know we all have lots of EF, I know I do, so it will be a fun challenge.

I chose to use my new EF from SSS called Kaliedeschope and I sponged lt. blue ink in the area where I would lay the flower spray from SU Blessings of Home.  I colored the image with SU Daffodil Delight, Seaside Spray and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I die cut the image with the matching dies and mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp & die set.  I mounted it with foam tape also.

Be sure to check out all the wonderful cards by the designers over at Just Us Girls and join in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for the Inkspirational Challenge

Hello friends.  I made a birthday card for the Inkspirational Challenge - Word Prompt Curve

ETA:  Wow, my card was a weekly winner at Make the Cards Challenge.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Weekly_Winner_Watermark.png

Here is my card with lots of curves.

I used an older Cuttlebug EF with lots of curves and a perfect place to stamp the sentiment.  I added the flowers in a curve along the bottom of the embossed section.  I stamped the flowers from SU Boughs & Blooms in Regal Rose and Misty Moonlight, then fussy cut them out. They are mounted with foam tape.  I punched two boughs of leaves from the matching punch and added them to the sides.  The two leaves at the bottom were snipped off of the punched boughs.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Moments.

This is my first time using the new SU Boughs & Blooms so I will link to Darnell's NBUS challenge.

and also to Make the Cards Challenge - Use an Embossing Folder.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Lucky

Hello friends.  I am honored to be guest designing at Just Us Girls for the month of March.  It is Word Week and the word for this week's challenge is "Lucky".

I created the sentiment in Word on my computer as I couldn't find one that I wanted to use in my stamps.  I die cut it with a die from SU Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I have a special friend that will be receiving this card so I used yellow flowers (her favorite color) cut with SU Botanical Builder dies (retired). The leaves are from the same set.  I added large golden rhinestones to the flower centers and  mounted all this on a panel cut with my new Stitched Stripe Card Front Die by Concord & 9th (love it), and then to the card front.

Be sure to check out all the wonderful cards by the designers over at Just Us Girls and join in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Ocean Creatures

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  This time Glenda has chosen Ocean Creatures as our Toppings option.  We also have a new Guest Designer for March and April - Deepti at Handmade by Deepti.

I used an older Simon Says Stamp set, Beautiful Mermaids, for all the images, stamped them, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them out.  I made my background panel with blender brushes and several shades of blue Distress Oxide Ink and SU Sahara Sand ink on the bottom.  I mounted most of the images with foam tape and just glued the sentiment and starfish on.

I hope you check out all the fabulous cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday and join us in this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

A New Birthday Card

Hello Friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I used some new and old goodies on this one.

The flowers are from SU Botanical Builder dies (retired) and the leaves are from my new Concord & 9th Lovely Layers Anemone die set.  I added yellow rhinestones to the flower centers.  The background panel is die cut with Concord & 9th Stitched Stripe Card Front die, another new one.  The sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts is stamped on a label from Seasonal Labels dies (retired).  I sponged Pear Pizzazz ink around the edges of the label to help it stand out from the background and then mounted it with foam tape.

I will link this to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge - Any Occasion.

Color Hues Challenge Cards for Ukraine

Hello friends.  A special post today as the Seize the Birthday DT is joining with Color Hues to make #cardsforukraine,  featuring the colors of their flag, blue and yellow, and/or sunflowers - their national flower.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Ukraine.

May be an image of text that says 'Color Hues the color challenge #cardsforukraine #TCH #36 Please only use the Hues of these two colors but neutrals are always welcome. Have Fun.'

I used Memory Box Layered Fresh Flowers (2 large and 1 small) for my yellow flower and added a golden gem to the center.  The leaves are die cut from white using a SU and a Spellbinders die.  I also used Spellbinders Venise Lace die to cut the panel with the openings,  I stamped the sentiment in SU Pacific Point ink and then embossed it with SU Tasteful Textile EF.  I mounted this on a blue panel and then to the card base. The flower and leaves were glued on the panel.

I hope you will join us in this special challenge at Color Hues.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn
