Happy Birthday for the Krafty Chicks

 Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I was inspired by two different cards I saw on Pinterest so I combined elements from each card to make this one.

I embossed a piece of tan pattern paper with the SU Cross-Hatch EF (ret),  I die cut two white strips with Spellbinders Ribbon & Trim dies and Winter Borders dies, then glued them together and glued them to the left side of the embossed panel, trimming off one end.  Next, I die cut two Spellbinders Essential Diamonds dies from white and blended Vintage Photo and Broken Chine DOI on the smaller diamond.  I stamped the greeting with Versafine Onyx Black ink, glued the diamonds together, then glued them to the embossed panel.  The PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia die was cut from white and blended with the Broken China DOI.  I glued the layers together and added the die cut center from the tan paper, then glued it to the left of the diamonds.  The leaves from the same set were cut from some green from my stash and glued under the Dahlia and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

Anniversary Blessings

 Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today - I have a couple to make in November and this one is for a couple at church.

I used a new die from SSS Petal Point Frames to cut the white panel, then embossed it with SU Cross-hatch EF for more dimension.  I used SSS Luna Flower for the pretty blooms & leaves.  I die cut the flowers from SU Hydrangea Hue and blended a darker blue ink to the centers, then used a sponge dauber to add white ink to the petal tips - I like this look.  I glued the layers together and added a fancy rhinestone to the centers (I am running low on these pretty rhinestones and Hobby Lobby doesn't have them anymore).  I cut the leaves from white and colored them with SU Lt. Granny Apple Blend.  I arranged the flowers how I wanted them on the white panel and glued the leaves under the edges.  The sentiment is a favorite from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, stamped on a white strip and mounted with foam tape.  I really like the finished card and think the couple will also.

Merry Christmas for Color Hues

 Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.  The colors at Color Hues of  Red & Green are perfect for making a Christmas card.

and here is my card

I embossed a panel of SU Evening Evergreen (ret) with Spellbinders Christmas Tile EF and mountned it to a white card base.  The larger poinsettias are cut from SU Real Red using Lawn Fawn Stitched Poinsettia dies.  I cut two medium and two small for each poinsettia and layered them together, adding 3 small gold beads to the center of each one.  The small Cherry Cobbler poinsettias are from another Spellbinders set. The foliage is cut from two shades of green using Spellbinders Christmas Bird Poinsettia die set.  The kraft leaves are from a different Spellbinders die set as are the small white flowers.  I also added a small gold bead to the center of each small flower.  The sentiment from an older SU set is embossed in gold and die cut with a label die.  I mounted it with foam tape off center at the bottom of the floral arrangement.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

 Hello friends.  When I saw Just Us Girls Challenge was CASE one of their designers, there were several that I liked but settled on Bobby's with that big pink flower.

I thought of this stamp & die set by Picket Fence - Brighter Days Gerbera Daisy.

I have had this set for a couple of years but have only used it once before.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Blends -  Daffodil Delight & Peach Pie for the daisy and Old Olive for the stem & leaves.  After die cutting the image, I trimmed some of the white around the edges as I was placing it on a SU Basic Beige panel.  I like Bobby's background paper so I used an older collage block stamp (Inkadinkado) to stamp my beige panel several times with the same Basic Beige ink, stamping off once for a lighter image.  I mounted the daisy with foam tape.  The sentiment is from SU Go To Greetings (ret.)  I fussy cut it and added foam tape strips on the right side and glued the left side on the stem.

It's the Best Day Birthday

 Hello friends.  I have another birthday card for a young girl at church.  She was born the day after the young girl I made the card for a couple of days ago and they are best friends, as are their families.

I embossed a panel of SU Basic Beige with an older Cuttlebug birthday EF and mounted it to a white card base.  The image and sentiment are from SU Best Day (ret).  I colored the image with several different alcohol markers and added Diamond Stickles to the balloon, hat pom pom and bow tie. The 2nd photo shows the glitter better.  I mounted it with foam tape to a stitched circle die cut.  I added a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe pattern paper to the center of the beige panel and then added the circle with foam tape also.  The sentiment is also mounted with foam tape.  I think she will like the card as I like it.

Merry Christmas Poinsettia

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share made with Altenew's Poinsettia 3D Die Set.  I was looking as all my Poinsettia stamps & dies and thought I haven't used this one this year so here it is.

I cut the poinsettia from SU Cherry Cobbler, shaped the petals and layered it together. The center is cut from gold foil.  I used one of the dies to cut the leaves from SU Evening Evergreen (ret.) and shaped them also.  I found a lt. beige plaid paper in my stash and thought it would look good as the background.  I added it to a mat of SU Chocolate Chip (ret.) and then to a white card base.  The greeting is cut from gold foil with Creative Expressions Festive Mini - Stacked Merry Christmas (I have had this die for several years and love using it).  I also cut 2 white layers and stacked them for dimension and glued to the card.  I really like the finished card.

Birthday Cupcake

 Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I made this one for a young girl at church who is turning 9 next week.

I had this MFT cupcake left over from a previous project and the papers are scraps from my stash.  I colored the cupcake to match the colors in the papers - SU Pretty in Pink and Mint Macron Blends, with a little yellow on the candle.  I mounted the cupcake with foam tape to a white oval cut with Spellbinders Essential Stylish Ovals and then a mat of Pretty in Pink.  The pattern papers were mounted on white and cut with a stitched rectangle die, then mounted to the white card base.  Happy Birthday is from a SSS set and glued across the bottom of the oval.

I saw TGIF is celebrating their 600th challenge so will share my card there.

Seize the Birthday Geometric + Word Die/Dies

 

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nance has chosen Geometric + Word Die/Dies as our "Topping" this time.  Of course you can always just make our usual "Anything Goes" Birthday card if you wish.

I thought Spellbinders Argyle Plaid had a Geometric feel to it so I used it to emboss a panel of SU Basic Beige and mounted it to a white card base.  I also used Spellbinders Sunflower Serenade to die cut the pretty sunflowers from SU So Saffron and the centers from Kraft and Soft Suede.  The leaves are from a different die set (no name) cut from a green from my stash.  I used Memory Box  Happy Birthday Posh Script to cut the sentiment twice from SU Soft Suede and layered it for dimension.  I am pleased with the final result.

Happy Birthday

 Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today. This one is for a special lady at church who has a birthday this week.

ETA:  my card was one of the ones chosen for Honorable Addict at Addicted to Stamps & More.

The pretty flowers are from PTI Into the Blooms: Poppies.  I cut them from SU Blushing Bride and blended SU Sweet Sorbet ink over them for dimension.  The leaves from a different die set were cut with green from my stash.  They are mounted on a panel cut with Honey Bee Spring Vine Layering Frames, then over a panel to match the blooms.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments, cut with the matching die and layered 3 times for dimension.  That finishes my card.

Last Two Thank You Cards

 Hello friends.  I wanted to share the last two Thank You cards I made for my friend.  She will be going home on Monday and is very happy about that. She wanted 2 masculine cards so these are what I came up with.  They were inspired by cards I had seen on Pinterest, but I used different colors and papers.

For this one I used SU Cloud Cover to emboss the leafy border in white, then added a strip of Misty Moonlight to match the card base.  I embossed an older SU sentiment in white on the strip.  The butterflies are also from an older SU set and colored with Cloud Cover and Misty Moonlight Blends.  They are punched out with an older matching punch.

For this card I also used an older SU set for the plane, fussy cut it, colored with SU Pecan Pie Blends and mounted it with foam tape to a white strip bordered with Pecan Pie cardstock.  The striped paper is from my stash and had no name on it, but matched the Pecan Pie color.  I also stamped the sentiment with Pecan Pie ink.

I have also been working on more Christmas Cards and Birthday cards so will share them later.

Christmas Blessings

 Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.  I made this one for the October CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Poinsettia

ETA:  My card was one of the top picks at Krafty Chicks Challenge

I used Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia to cut the flower from white, cutting 2 of the largest layers, and then blending Kitsch Flamingo DOI to the centers before gluing them together.  I cut the leaves from SU Mint Macron.  I wanted a little something extra so I die cut Spellbinders Ribbon & Trim die from white and added it under the poinsettia, although not too much of it shows.  I embossed the sentiment with gold as the center of the poinsettia is cut from gold foil.  The background beige panel is a card front from an older SU Paper Pumpkin kit and has a light pattern on it.

Seize the Birthday - Double Frame

 Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nancy wants us to use a Double Frame on our cards.

I thought this was a good challenge to use the Double Frame by Penny Black.  I have only used one of the frames previously.  I cut them in SU Crumb Cake and Soft Suede (Ret.).  I layered them with foam tape between the layers.  The image and sentiment are from an older Newton's Nook stamp set called Loads of Blooms.  This is my first time using it although I have had it for several years.  I colored the image with SU Blends (Flirty Flamingo & Granny Apple Green) and Copics.  I layered the sentiment with foam tape and the card was done.  This is different than my usual floral cards but it does have flowers and  I like it.

Thank You Card #4

 Hello friends.  I have another thank you card for my friend and I really like this one.

I used a SU Peaceful Pine panel and embossed it with SU Lovely Stripes EF, then mounted it to a white card base.  Then I die cut a white stitch octagon from SU Memorable Blooms die set.  I stamped the Thank You from an older SU set as I like the font.  I stamped and die cut the flowers from SU Charming Day set and colored them with SU Peach Pie and Soft Succulent Blends.  I mounted the white die cut with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with foam tape also.

Thank You Card #3

 Hello friends.  Happy World Card Making Day.  I did get another Thank You card made for my friend.

I embossed a Crumb Cake panel with Altenew Piped Floral Lace 3D EF and added it to a white card base.  I die cut the flowers (SU Pumpkin Pie) and leaves (green from my stash) using Spellbinders Hello You die set.  I also blended Pumpkin Pie ink to the centers of the flowers and shaped them with my fingers before gluing them together.  I added a gem to the centers.  The lacy frame is from SU Scalloped Wishes, stamped in Early Espresso ink and cut with the matching die.  I stamped Thank You from The Greetery Arched Sentiments in the same ink and mounted it with foam tape.  Then I mounted the flowers and leavers on the bottom of the frame.  I really like this one and I know my friend will also.  She has been in the hospital and then rehab with a broken arm and unable to make cards herself so she asked me to.

Thank You Card #2

 Hello friends.  I am still working on Thank You cards for my friend so here is #2.

I embossed a lt. blue panel with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and added a darker blue mat, then glued them to the white card base.  The flowers are from SU Birthday Blooms (ret.) colored with SU Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Blends.  There was no matching die so I stamped and cut several with my Scan 'n Cut.  The white circle is cut with SU Spotlight on Nature Dies and stamped with Thank You from SU Magnolia Blooms (ret.).  I glued the flower on the circle and then mounted it with foam tape, adding foam pieces on the flower sections not on the circle.

Thank You Card

 Hello friends.  A friend requested I make her a few thank you cards so this is the first one.

I had all these pieces left from other projects so all I had to do was put them together in a layout I like.  The white panel is embossed with Altenew Piped Floral Lace 3D EF, which I love.  The blooms and leaves are from Spellbinders Club Blooms dies.  I don't remember the ink I blended in the centers.  I just added the pretty rhinestones to the centers.  The leaves were cut from a green in a Recollections pack.  The ovals were already cut, I just stamped the sentiment from an older SU set - Magnolia Blooms.  I added the flowers and leaves to the ovals and mounted it with foam tape and my card was done.  I really like the finished card and so does my friend.

I will send this to Can You Handle the Pressure challenge - did not use the optional twist of trees.

and to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge - used the center row down, DieCuts, Free, Embossing Wet/Dry,  I used several dies and embossing.

Seize the Birthday - Use Fall Colors

 Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Linda would like us to Use Fall Colors on our cards.  Of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday - our Anything Goes option.

I always think of orange, yellow, green and tan for fall colors, so that is what I used for my card.  The pretty flowers are Altenew Cute Open Rose cut from SU Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  I used the same inks to blend in the centers and shaped the petals before gluing the layers together.  The Crumb Cake centers were cut using a Spellbinders die.  The leaves and stems were already cut using Simon Says Stamp Layered Perky Flowers - I clipped the flowers off of the stems.  I glued the stems/leaves and flowers on a Crumb Cake panel embossed with SSS Thread Plaid EF and then to a white card base.  The sentiment is from a SSS set also and mounted with foam tape.

Anniversary Blessings

 Hello friends.  I have several anniversary cards to make for October so I am getting a head start.  I like the colors at Color Hues Color Challenge - Purple & Artichoke, so I used those to make the first one. These colors are perfect for flowers.

I used SSS Jaunty Stems to die cut the flowers from SU Highland Heather and blended Gorgeous Grape ink to the centers of the flowers and the bottom of the bud.  I also cut two of each and layered them to make them fuller.  I added a clear rhinestone to the centers for the flowers.  The stems & leaves are cut from SU Always Artichoke (ret.).  I die cut one of the frames from Penny Black Double Frames and layered it over a white panel die cut with Waffle Flower Rhombus Texture Die for some texture behind the flowers.  I then glued the flowers and stems in place, reversing one of the stems/leaves.  I stamped the sentiment from an older Sweet 'n Sassy set in Gorgeous Grape ink.  I then die cut it with a die from Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and mounted it with foam tape.
