Happy Anniversary

I am sharing an anniversary card for a special couple at church.  I have several anniversary and birthday cards to make for August.
The flowers are from Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers.  I stamped them on X-pres It Blending Card and colored them with Promarkers.  I die cut them with the matching dies and mounted them with foam tape on an MFT Stitched Oval panel.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments.  The blue dotted paper is from an older Papertrey Ink Bitty Dots pad.  The red and the red/white stripe papers are scraps from my stash and are cut with MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags dies.  I mounted the white oval panel with foam tape and added 3 small red enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I appreciate it when you take time to leave a comment.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Wishing You a Lovely Birthday

This card will be going to a special friend.

I created my card using the splashing technique for the background panel using Victorian Velvet DI and then I colored the Pretty Pink Posh Cherry Blossoms that I stamped and die cut.  I hope this qualifies for the CAS Mix Up Challenge (color your die cuts) and also the CAS Watercolor Challenge - Using Splash Watercoloring.
I used a die that I recently got from AE and the sentiment is from PTI Vintage Linens.  I really love the Cherry Blossom stamp and die set and I colored them with Copics and mounted them with foam tape.  The white panel is mounted with foam tape also.  The card base is SU Blushing Bride which matched the distress ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

The flowers are made with SU Botanical Builders Framelits using PTI Hawaiian Shores CS.  The pattern paper is PTI Hawaiian Shores Bitty Big.  The sentiment is from TPC Studio Happy Birthday set, stamped in MFT Blu Raspberry ink.

CAS Watercolor Thank You

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the CAS Watercolor Challenge - Splash Watercoloring.   I finally tried this technique as explained on the CAS Watercolor blog.

They have a link to several video tutorials.  It is easy to do and I like the final result.
I used DI Tumbled Glass and Wilted Violet inks for the splash watercolor panel.  I played around with several ideas before settling on this Impression Obsession frame and the die cut flower stem is a die from Ali Express.  I cut it apart to fit in the frame and fill up the opening.  The frame is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from a new SU Painted Glass set.  I fussy cut the flag end and mounted it with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Stripes

Hello friends.  Our challenge this week for Seize the Birthday is to use stripes on your card.  Remember it is our "Toppings" option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.
I used a Spellbinders Curved Border die for the black scallop border mat.  The stripe paper is from my stash of paper. :)  The flower is made with dies I borrowed from a friend and the leaves are cut with Sizzix Branch w/Leaves die.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

Now check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday, and also our "Surprise Party Guest" Trina Pham.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

JUGS Watercolor Background

Hello friends and welcome to my blog.  I have a card I made for a friend using this week's JUGS Watercolor Background challenge.
I had these Altenew Painted Flowers already stamped and cut from a previous card so I did a watercolor background using similar colors from my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors and I like how it turned out.  I also sprayed the background with Hero Arts White Iridescent Shimmer Spray but it doesn't show up much in the photo. I think it looks great with the flower colors.  I used MFT Split Chevron Cover Up plate (discontinued) to put over the background and then added the sentiment panel and flowers with foam tape. The sentiment is an older SU stamp that I have used quite a bit.  I love the font in it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thinking of You

My sister requested I make her some cards so I am sharing one that I made for her.
I used an older sentiment stamp from SU and then used the same die to cut it from the PTI Mix & Match Scallops Die.  I mounted the scallop die with foam tape on a shimmery pink panel die cut with MFT Blueprints 20 die (discontinued).  The flower and leaves are from SU Peaceful Petals (retired), colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I mounted the flower with foam tape and glued the petals onto the die cut.  I really liked the way it turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas

I made a card for the challenge at CAS Christmas - Poinsettia.  I am glad I found this challenge.  This is my first time playing and hope to do it more often as I love making Christmas cards all year long.
I am learning to do the CAS style as I am used to using layers and embellishments. :)
I used the Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia die along with MFT Pink Lemonade and SU Mint Macaron cs.  I used 2 layers of the largest flower and 1 of the other 2 layers.  I love the way this die leaves the vein impression on the petals although it doesn't show up that well in the photo.  I embossed the sentiment from a Hero Arts Christmas set in gold to match the gold glitter gemstone in the poinsettia.  The white panel is embossed with the SU Filigree Frame EF.  I used the debossed side.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Friends are Special

Hello friends.  I am sharing two cards I made for two special friends.  I wanted them to know how much I appreciate their friendship and made them in their favorite colors.
I was looking through my stamps and spotted this verse on MFT Words Of Inspiration and it was perfect for my cards.
The flowers are from SU Garden in Bloom and the leaves are from Peaceful Petals (both retired)  I stamped the flowers twice in each color, fussy cut them, and shaped the petals, then layered them and added a glitter gemstone to the centers.  The flower is a shaded stamp so it makes the flower look two-tone, love it.  The papers are from my stash.
The pretty lattice is from an older  Sizzix die - Rachel Bright, from Hobby Lobby.  I die cut the frame 3 times and layered it for dimension.  The white cut out panel is glued directly to the card base after stamping the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really appreciate it when you take time to visit and leave a comment.  Have a wonderful day.

Thank You for Color Throwdown #500 and MFT #392

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for our Pastor's wife as she has done so much getting ready for our Vacation Bible School and I wanted her to know she is appreciated.  I also have 2 other thank you cards to make.

I wanted to play along with the colors from Color Throwdown #500 challenge
and used the sketch from MFT Sketch Challenge #392.

I tried several things before coming up with my final card and am pleased with the way it turned out.  I stamped the flowers from MFT Funky Flowers with Versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I fussy cut them, mounted them with foam tape and added some navy leaves from MFT Stitched Blooms dies.  The white panel is fussy cut and the navy border is cut with
MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edges.  The sentiment is from MFT On The Line (discontinued).
I added the gold dotted paper from a mat pad from Hobby Lobby under the upper panel as I was inspired by the gold dotted cake layer.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for friends

I am sharing another anniversary card I made for good friends at church.
I sort of copied myself from this card.  I love this PIT Bold Borders Flare die and this time I added some pattern paper behind it.  I like the contrast of the blue and purple.  The flowers are from Gina K Designs Stippled Flowers.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics.  I die cut them with the matching dies and added the flowers with foam tape for dimension. I also added clear Wink of Stella to all the flowers, but it doesn't show up in the photo, it is so pretty IRL.  The leaves are just glued down.  I added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins in the frame and around the sentiment.  The sentiment is a Stampabilities stamp from Hobby Lobby.

I think this border qualifies for the Geometric Patterns challenge at Shopping Our Stash so I am linking it there.

Thinking of You

I tried a new technique on my card I am sharing today - faux stained glass.  I saw it on Darnell's blog here and she had another link to this technique.

YAY, my card was chosen as one of the Outstanding Designs for CAS Miz-Up challenge.

I followed the directions and die cut this Memory Box Perky Poppy die once and glued it down to my die cut panel which is cut with MFT Blueprints 20.  I colored the flower section with Copics and then added three more die cuts glued together, and filled it with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.  I let it dry overnight and then colored the bottom part of the die cut and added a touch of the Nuvo glaze to the small bud.  The sentiment is from an older SU set.  I did a light sponging with SU Pistachio Pudding ink and the MFT Moroccan Lattice stencil as I felt it needed a little something in the white space.  I am really pleased with the way it turned out.  I am not used to doing the CAS style.

I am linking my card up at CAS Mix Up - Color your die cuts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Sequins

Hello and Happy Thursday friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of using sequins on your birthday card.
I used my new Papertrey Ink Bold Borders Flare die (love this die) and an old SU set Secret Garden with matching dies.  I stamped the flowers in MFT Electric Red ink, colored the centers with a yellow marker, and stamped the leaves in SU Wild Wasabi ink.  After die cutting them, I cut between the petals and shaped them for dimension.  I also shaped the leaves before adhering them down.  The sentiment is also an old SU stamp, Beautiful Birthday, I use it a lot.  As a final touch, I added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the die cut border and also around the sentiment.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday  and also our "Surprise Party Guest" Trina Pham.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

I am going to share this one over at The Party Players 400th Challenge - Celebration

and also Just Us Girls - Anything Goes

Happy Birthday for a Friend

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for a good friend.
I used the W Plus 9 Modern Anemones stamp and die set, stamped and colored with Copics, then cut them with the matching dies.  The background die cut is MFT Modern Morocco (retired) and I used MFT Stitched Circle Frame and mounted the frame with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment from Verve Cake & Candles on the center cut out and glued it directly on the die cut panel.  I then mounted the flowers and leaves around the bottom of the frame using foam tape only on the large flower.

I am linking my card to The Paper Players - Celebration
