New Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share.  I made this for some good friends for their 50th anniversary..

The pretty shiny blue flower is made with PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia from shimmery blue card stock and the leaves from SU Pear Pizzazz.  I shaped the petals with my fingers, glued the layers together and added a fancy rhinestone to the center.  For the white panel I used a die (no name) I have had for a while and mounted it to some gold foil paper.  The 50 was also die cut from the gold foil and glued to the top left corner.  I embossed the Verve sentiment in gold on the bottom right corner.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a red & white card I made for the Color Hues Challenge and just getting it done in the nick of time.

I used some older SU pattern paper and matted with Real Red card stock, then glued to the white card base..  The PTI Into The Blooms Dahlia was also cut from Real Red card.  The center is cut from white and I added a red rhinestone.  I used PTI Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket die to cut the white panel.  I also cut one from red, cut it in half to mat the white one and also cut the end to place at the top to have a mat for the whole frame.  I mounted the whole panel with foam tape to the pattern paper after stamping the sentiment, which is from an older Verve stamp set.  I die cut the two leaves from white using a die from Simon Says Stamp Hanging Leaf Ring set and glued them under the edge of the flower.  I also added 3 red rhinestones to the top right corner of the white panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used a new die, Birch Press Splendid Cosmos Contour Layers die for the pretty red bloom.  I die cut it from SU Sweet Sorbet card and layered it together.  The center is cut from scraps of yellow and black.  The leaves for from PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia cut from SU Old Olive card stock.  I mounted them to a panel embossed with Altenew Natural Wicker Pattern EF and then to a black mat.  The sentiment is cut from SU Wanted to Say dies and glued on in a slant to kind of match the embossing.  I then added it to a white card base to finish my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

Fall Items for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  Happy Thursday and HAPPY THANKSGIVING.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara wants us to use fall items on our cards -it can be food, flowers, or leaves, anything related to fall.

Surprise - No Flowers. :)  I decided to go with fall colored leaves, although we don't see the leaves changing colors here in Florida.  I used SU Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies which I have had for quite a few years but can't remember if I ever used these leaves.  I blended SU Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive inks on a cream piece of cardstock and die cut them with the plain leaf die.  Then I die cut the  detail die from Crumb Cake card to place over the plain layer.  I glued the leaves to a cream square and then mounted them with foam tape to a panel of green from my stash.  I embossed the cream panel with Taylored Expressions Brick EF and mounted it to a Sahara Sand card base, then glued the green panel in place.  The sentiment from PTI  Autum Hills and is stamped in Soft Suede ink on a plain cream square and glued in place.

Hop on over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the fabulous fall cards by the team and out guest designers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day, and again HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  This is for my granddaughter.  Her birthday is in a couple of weeks, in fact, I have several family birthdays in January and have several more to make.

The flower and leaves are from PTI Into the Blooms Dahlia.  I cut the flower from SU Sweet Sorbet and the leaves from SU Soft Succulent.   I shaped the flower petals and then glued the layers together.  I added a gold glitter gem to the center.  I glued  thin strips of gold foil to the Sahara Sand card panel and angled the ends.  I flicked specks with the Sweet Sorbet Blend marker by tapping it against the lid of the marker.  The sentiment is from SU Framed Florets.

Just Us Girls - Color Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card I made with some new dies I just received.  I used the colors from Just Us Girls Color Week.

I used my new PTI Lotty Dotty die to cut the white panel and layered it over a brown panel.  The sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts (retired) was stamped in brown ink.  The flower is from my new Creative Expressions Florals 7 die.  I cut it in Pumpkin Pie and then inked the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.  The flower center is from a SU set and cut in the same brown cardstock. The leaves are die cut in green with PTI Into The Blooms: Dahlia dies.  I inked the edges with green ink.

I will also link to Darnell's MYNBUS as I have not used the dies before.

Happy Birthday - No Stamping

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen No Stamping as our "Topping" option this time. Remember the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I had this pale green panel already embossed with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and used it as the background for my flower and sentiment.   The layered sentiment is from Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script die.  The base layer is white and the top layer is cut from a new SU In-Color called Sweet Sorbet.  The PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia is also cut from Sweet Sorbet.  There are 3 layers all glued together in the centers.  I added the black center from another flower set.  The leaves are from Memory Box Exquisite Leaf Set cut from a sage green in my stash.  I clipped one of the leaves off  to make it fit under the petals and glued them under the flower petals.  The flower and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.  I added this panel to a black mat to make it stand out better and also coordinate with the flower center.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday and join in our challenge.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card to share today.  I used some new goodies to make this card.

For the flowers I used Waffle Flower Layered Poinsettia die and sponged Balmy Blue ink in the centers.  I think it is too pretty to use just at Christmas and it makes such a pretty flower.  I added a clear rhinestone to the centers.  The leaves are from PTI Into the Blooms - Dahlia.  I thought about using the blooms from this set but I already had the Layered Poinsettias inked and layered so used them instead.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates.  The pattern paper is from my stash and is die cut with an MFT Stitched Border die.

I will link this to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - All About Occasions.

Last Christmas Card for 2021

Hello friends.  I have one last Christmas card to share today.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the runner-ups at the Color Hues.

I used PTI Bold Borders Yuletide Die and the new Into the Blooms Dahlia die.  I die cut both from white and layered the Dahlia and added red rhinestones to the center.  I mounted these on Evening Evergreen pattern paper from SU Tidings of Christmas 6x6 pack.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp & die set.  I stamped it in Real Red ink and then die cut with the matching die.

I made this one using the Color Hues Challenge of red and green.

Hello for Just Us Girls - Fast Watercolors

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for JUGS #453 - Fast Watercolors.
I watched Jennifer McGuire's YouTube video linked to at JUGS and then tried it for my card.  Mine is not as good as Jennifer's or the JUGS designers, but it is a fun technique to try.  I will have to try it again.
For my card I stamped flowers and leaves from Altenew Perfectly Perfect on watercolor paper and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I smeared Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink on part of the flower and Twisted Citron on the leaves and then sprayed lots of water on them.  I set them aside to dry and assembled my base card with a black mat and orange dotted paper from a Recollections pad, it matched the flower pretty close.  The white circle is die cut with PTI Shape Shifters - Circle 1 die.  I laid it upside down, replaced all the cut out pieces and covered it with foam tape to mount it to my card base.  After the flower was dry, I die cut them with the matching dies and mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are just glued down under the edge of the flower.  I die cut the Tutti Designs Hello die 3 times and layered them together for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Wishing You a Lovely Birthday

This card will be going to a special friend.

I created my card using the splashing technique for the background panel using Victorian Velvet DI and then I colored the Pretty Pink Posh Cherry Blossoms that I stamped and die cut.  I hope this qualifies for the CAS Mix Up Challenge (color your die cuts) and also the CAS Watercolor Challenge - Using Splash Watercoloring.
I used a die that I recently got from AE and the sentiment is from PTI Vintage Linens.  I really love the Cherry Blossom stamp and die set and I colored them with Copics and mounted them with foam tape.  The white panel is mounted with foam tape also.  The card base is SU Blushing Bride which matched the distress ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Thinking of You

My sister requested I make her some cards so I am sharing one that I made for her.
I used an older sentiment stamp from SU and then used the same die to cut it from the PTI Mix & Match Scallops Die.  I mounted the scallop die with foam tape on a shimmery pink panel die cut with MFT Blueprints 20 die (discontinued).  The flower and leaves are from SU Peaceful Petals (retired), colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I mounted the flower with foam tape and glued the petals onto the die cut.  I really liked the way it turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Sequins

Hello and Happy Thursday friends.  It is time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of using sequins on your birthday card.
I used my new Papertrey Ink Bold Borders Flare die (love this die) and an old SU set Secret Garden with matching dies.  I stamped the flowers in MFT Electric Red ink, colored the centers with a yellow marker, and stamped the leaves in SU Wild Wasabi ink.  After die cutting them, I cut between the petals and shaped them for dimension.  I also shaped the leaves before adhering them down.  The sentiment is also an old SU stamp, Beautiful Birthday, I use it a lot.  As a final touch, I added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the die cut border and also around the sentiment.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday  and also our "Surprise Party Guest" Trina Pham.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

I am going to share this one over at The Party Players 400th Challenge - Celebration

Thinking of You for JUGS Color Week #441

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for the Just Us Girls Color Challenge and just got it completed barely in time.

I used SU Smokey Slate CS for the base and Smokey Slate ink for the leaves.  The flowers from PTI Gran's Garden are stamped in MFT Summer Splash ink and cut with the matching dies.  The center panel is cut with Spellbinders Flourish Ovals from Night of Navy CS and the white is cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval dies.  The sentiment is from SU Wetlands set and is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  I mounted this panel with foam tape and glued the leaves and flowers to the oval. The DSP is from a Christmas pad and I don't remember which one, sorry.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happiest of Birthdays for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week our "Toppings" option is to use teal and white on your birthday project.
I love any shade of blue as it is my favorite color, so this was right up my alley, and I love making floral cards.
I used an old SU set Vintage Vogue for my flowers and stamped them in SU Bermuda Bay ink.  The leaves are from my new Papertrey Ink Gran's Garden stamped in SU Pear Pizzazz ink.  I fussy cut the flowers and added rhinestones to the centers.  I die cut the leaves with the matching die.  I used MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Ovals and Stitched Ovals to make my frame.  The center oval is glued directly to the pattern paper and the frame is mounted with foam tape.  The large flowers are also mounted with foam tape.  I found this stripe pattern paper and it matches the Bermuda Bay perfectly.  The sentiment is from SU Birthday Blooms.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team over at Seize the Birthday and be inspired to play along with us.

I am also linking this one up to The Flower Challenge #18 - Anything Goes.

Another Anniversary Card

Yep, here is another one of the anniversary cards I am making this month. This one is also for a couple at church.  I found out they will be married 21 years.  Usually I don't know  how long they have been married and it is nice to add the number of years for a special touch.
I copied myself on this one, using this card.  I changed the orientation to horizontal, the colors to Blushing Bride and the sentiment to an anniversary.  The sentiment stamp and die is from Papertrey Ink Just A Number set.  The flowers are SU Flower Shop stamped in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo (stamped off once).  I added sparkly gem stones to the centers of the flowers.  The MFT Gingham Background (it must be discontinued as I can't find it on their web site) was stamped in Blushing Bride also.  The white embossed panel is embossed with SU Lacey Brocade EF (retired)

I will link this one up to The Flower Challenge - Anything Goes.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a couple at church.  I have 3 more anniversary cards and 2 more birthday cards to make for March.
I used March Viva la Verve sketch for my layout, but it is reversed.  When I put the green vertical panel on I didn't realize I had laid the card base upside down, so I just went with it and added the flowers and sentiment panel on the opposite side.
I stamped MFT Gingham Background in SU Blushing Bride for the main panel.  The green paper is from DCWV Home Basics 6x6 pad.  The flowers from PTI Gran's Garden are stamped in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo inks and cut with the matching dies.  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.  I added some b/w Baker's Twine around the green panel before mounting the flowers with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Verve's Love Story (discontinued) and cut with Spellbinder's Circle and the mat is cut with SB Scallop Circle die.  I mounted this with foam tape also.  The scallop border is cut with a retired SU border punch.

I am also linking to The Flower Challenge #18 - Anything Goes (I love making cards with flowers).

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  All comments are greatly appreciate.
Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Hello Friends and happy March 1st.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time it is "Anything Goes" as long as it is for a birthday.  I would like to welcome our new Surprise Party Guest, Kim Lackenbach from Kim's Cards and Crafts.  She will be with us for the months of March and April.  You can read all about her on Seize the Birthday and visit her blog.

I made this card for a special friend using PTI Gran's Garden and matching dies.  Her favorite color is yellow so I made yellow flowers with SU Daffodil Delight and stamped the leaves in SU Pear Pizzazz.  After die cutting, I layered them over a lace frame cut with a Gina Marie Designs die.  The center flower is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from MFT Pretty Poppies. I cut it in a banner shape and added foam tape just to the center part and glued the two ends.  The green DSP is from The Paper Studio pad I got at Hobby Lobby.

Now check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I am sure you will be inspired to play along with us.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday # - Use Poinsettia(s)

Hello Merry Monday Fans.  I am your host this week over at Merry Monday and I would like you to use poinsettia(s) on your Christmas card.  I think poinsettias are so pretty at Christmas and I can't wait to see what you create with them.
For my card I stamped Sweet 'n Sassy's Poinsettia twice and colored it with Promarkers and then fussy cut the poinsettia from one and layered it over the bottom flower, offsetting it a little so that it would look fuller.  The sentiment is from the same set and stamped in SU Wild Wasabi ink and then cut with an MFT stitched oval and mounted with foam tape.  I added it with foam tape over a PTI Mix & Mat Flourishes die.  The bottom white layer is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by the designers over at Merry Monday and join us in this week's challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
