Last Anniversary Card for May

Hello friends.  This if my final May Anniversary card.
I was inspired by Gail Ellis' card on Pintrest, the blue one in the middle (blue IS my favorite color).  I changed a few things to make it my own,  the flower dies and Bloom Boutique pattern paper are the same, but I used an older Fiskars border punch for the white and blue panels and embossed the white panel with SU Cross-hatch EF (ret). The flowers are cut from SU Hydrangea Hue using SU Pierced Blooms (ret.),  I added Altenew Black Enamel Gems to the centers of the flowers.  The leaves are cut from SU Garden Green. The sentiment is from an older Verve set and mounted with foam tape.  I really like the finished card and I think the recipients will also.  Thanks for the inspiration Gail.

I will add this to Just Us Girls - Flowers

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday to You

Hello friends. I have a new birthday card to share today.  This one is for Just Us Girls Challenge - Flowers.  You know that is my favorite kind of card to make.

I just received some new dies from Brass & Bliss and couldn't wait to play with them.  I love their Basket Weave Cover Die and cut it from SU Basic Beige and mounted it to a white card base.  The flowers were cut from SU Pumpkin Pie with Brass & Bliss Build a Bloom Clematis Die.  It has 3 sizes of blooms and I cut 2 of the largest die and layered them for a fuller bloom.  I also doubled the two medium blooms.  I added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby), colored with a brown alcohol marker. to the center of each flower.  The leaves from another die set was cut from SU Granny Apple Green.  After shaping the flower petals, I arranged them on the bottom left corner and then glued the leaves under the petals.  I had the pressed sentiment already done so added it with some foam tape and my card was done.  I love the finished card and will be using these dies again soon.

I am linking to Just Us Girls Challenge #823,  Word Week - Flowers

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using these new dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today and I have one more to do for May.

I used a my new die from Gina K. Designs - Ornate Frame, cut from white card, matted with white and then placed on a mat of Pretty in Pink.  The flowers are from Gina K. Designs Thoughtful Flowers.  I colored the flowers with SU Blends - Pretty in Pink & Granny Apple Green.  After die cutting them with the matching dies, I mounted them with foam tape around the frame.  The sentiment is an older one  from SU, stamped on the center cut out and then placed back in the frame.  I mounted the panel to a white card base and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

I will add this to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Butterflies & Blooms.  Their May inspiration board is beautiful with all the lovely pink images.

and to Darnell's NBUS  as this is the first time I have used this new die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Feature an Animal

Hello friends.  It's time for our new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Nance S. would like to see an animal as the main feature on our cards.

I used this cute fawn from SU Notes of Spring stamp set.  I stamped the fawn in black and then over stamped (two-stamp set) with Crumb Cake ink.  I fussy cut him out and laid him aside to work on the white panel, 2-1/2 by 3-1/4, stamping the ferns and grass in Old Olive ink.  I stamped the sentiment toward the bottom in Early Espresso ink and blended a little Balmy Blue ink for the sky before mounting the fawn with foam tape.  I glued this panel to a narrow mat of Early Espresso and then to some tan pattern paper from my stash.  I mounted that panel to a mat of Old Olive and then to the Pecan Pie card base.  I think this is a great masculine card and will have to save it for a special birthday.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the Team and our Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues - Blue and Yellow

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today. I made this one using the Color Hues Challenge colors of blue and yellow.

This card came together quickly as I already had several of the items  done.  The blue panel was already embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF and I just used SU Scalloped Contours dies (ret) for the scalloped edge.  The sentiment label was already cut, I just stamped the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Spring Clusters and mounted it with foam tape..  The yellow cone flower (Honey Bee Designs) was already done form a previous project and I mounted it with foam tape.  I added a few clear rhinestones to the panel and glued it to the white card base and my card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy 2nd Birthday

Hello friends.  Tomorrow is my great-granddaughter's 2nd birthday and this is the card I made for her.

The cute bunny is from Penny Black's Flying By.  After stamping the bunny, I used some light Copic colors to give her and the flower a littler color.  I fussy cut the image and mounted her with foam tape to a white panel that I used a stencil and Balmy Blue ink to blend some clouds on.  I used two different sentiments to add the sentiment - "Flying By to Say" is from the Penny Black set (I cut the Hi off).  Happy Birthday is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts Stamp & Die set. I had a boo-boo stamping on the panel, so I stamped, die cut and glued the sentiment over the boo-boo and it worked fine.  2nd was an afterthought so I glued a die cut 2 on and stamped the ND from an older SU set.  The whole panel was added to a white card base.  I wish I had thought of adding the 2nd beforehand so there would be more spacing, but I think it turned out fine anyway.

I will add this to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I have several Penny Black Stamps and this is just ONE of my favorites.
also to the AAA Birthday Challenge (they are celebrating their 7th Birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for the JUGS Challenge - copy a designer's card.
ETA:  My card was Winner of the Week at JUGS.

There are so many lovely cards but I was inspired by Bobby's lovely card with the flowers tucked under the strip and the embossing.

For my card I die cut several of SSS Jaunty Stem flowers from Flirty Flamingo (flowers) and Granny Apple Green (stems/leaves).  I blended Flirty Flamingo ink in the centers of the larger flowers and on the bottom of the buds.  Instead of using the single flowers, I layered two together for more fullness and liked them better.  I colored the white dotted centers with a yellow marker.  After putting the flowers together, I tucked them behind a SSS Garden Fence die cut from white and the same lt. gray as the embossed background (Spellbinders Dazzling Diamonds EF).  I mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the stems down, then glued the fence on, and mounted to a white card base.  The sentiment is from SSS/Paper Rose Studio Stamptember 2025 - Thankful Florals stamp & die set and glued on the fence.  I really like the finished card

I will also add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used these SSS dies and the stamp/die set,

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
