MFTWSC121 Hello There

I finally got my card done for this week's MFTWSC121.  Check out the challenge on the MFT Blog.

For my card I used SU Blush Blossom CS as the base and Soft Suede for the mats.  The DSP is from The Paper Studio Sweet Pea pad.  The cute image and sentiment is from the MFT a la mode Reflection stamp set.  I stamped her in Mememto Black Tuxedo ink and colored her with Copics.  I paper-pieced her dress.   I added Glossy Accents to the mirror for some reflection.  Here is a close-up photo so you can see it better.
For the bottom border I used the MFT Simply scallops Medium Die-namic and cut one out of DSP and one Soft Suede CS and layered them.  The sentiment is punched with the SU Word Window punch and mounted with foam tape.

That's it for my card.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Seize The Birthday #15

This is my card for Seize The Birthday #15 sketch challenge, which is for a masculine card.  I think it looks masculine, but could also be for a girl.

For my card I chose some DSP from SU Celebrations pack (retired). Love the red and blue.  The card base, vertical strip and scallop mat are Pacific Point.  I embossed the white panel with a Cuttlebug Argyle EF to give it some texture.  The sentiment is from a Studio G set from Michaels. It is two separate stamps and I stamped it in Pacific Point and Real Red inks.  I cut them out with a Spellbinders Classic Oval and Scallop Oval dies.  I sponged some ink around the edges while it was still in the die.  This panel is mounted with foam tape  The balloons are stamped in Real Red and Pacific Point ink with the balloon from SU Big Bold Birthday set.  I added the balloon strings with some twine from my stash and mounted the balloons with foam tape.

Guest Designer for Merry Monday #59

I am honored to be this week's Guest Designer for Merry Monday Challenge #59. It is so much fun participating in the challenges and making a Christmas card each week. Check out the challenge on www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.com, and play along.  This is my take on the sketch.

For my card I chose some papers from Echo Park's 6x6 Very Merry Christmas pad.  Stampin Up's Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke are perfect matches.  I cut the largest Spellbinder's Floral Ovals die from RHR cardstock and traced the inner part of the die for my patterned paper oval.  The striped paper is matted with Always Artichoke, and these panels are mounted to the white card base.  The image and sentiment are from MFT 's ala mode-Sparkling Season.  I stamped the girl with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I stamped the ornament, her sweater and hair bow on some of the DSP paper and cut them out and glued them on after cutting her out.  The sentiment banner is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax.   For the sentiment, I masked part of it and stamped it separately to allow space for her legs when I mounted her with foam tape.

That's it for my card.  Thanks again to Lesley and the Design Team for allowing to be the Guest Designer this week.  Don't forget to check out all the great inspriation from the Design Team and play along with the sketch, you might be the next Guest Designer.

Freshly Made Sketches 82 Happy Mother's Day

I made this card following this week's Freshly Made Sketches #82.    I used some of the pretty SU Twitterpated DSP. Love the colors in this paper.  I stamped the flower from Verve's Sunny Days twice on some of the DSP and cut it out, cutting the center out on the second flower and layering it with dimensionals.  I added a button from my stash tied with some linen twine.  The sentiment from Verve's Love Deepens is stamped in Marina Mist ink on a Spellbinder's Label Eight die. I inked the edges also.  I added the Pink Pirouette borders to the floral paper, one of them I cut with the SU Finishing Touches Edgelits die.  I added a scored line on the top and bottom for a little extra dimension.

That's it for my card.  Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate you leaving a comment.

Merry Monday #58 - The Magic of Christmas

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday #58 sketch challenge.  Click the link and check it out.

For my card I used some older Basic Grey paper from the Wassail 6x6 pad.  I thought the presents in the background paper tied in with the sentiment.  The Magic of Christmas really is in HIS presence.

The sentiment is from Verve's Peace On Earth Set, stamped with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on a panel of DSP.  I used a Zig Black pen and ruler to draw the lines around the edges. This panel is mounted with foam tape. The poinsettia is from Verve's Poinsettia Christmas.  It is a 2 stamp image and I stamped the outline and flower in SU Cherry Cobler ink and cut it out.  I went over the outline with a Cherry Cobler marker for a little more definitition.  I added some Queen & Co. Sunflower Yellow Pearls to the center of the poinsettia.  I glued the top half only of the poinsettia to the entiment panel.

The 3 flag banners are cut with a MFT Fishtail Flag Stax die from the DSP.

That is my card.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment.

Happy Stamping,

The Paper Players #141 Happy Birthday

I am playing in The Paper Players challenge this week.  I had to think about this color combo, but I like it.  I made a birthday card using the Top Note die from Stampin Up.  All the papers/CS are from SU also.  I punched squares from the Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake DSP, adhered them to a 4x5" cs base and cut it out with the Top Note die. I trimmed around the edges where the perforations are and then embossed it with the SU Snow Burst EF.  I then mounted it to a Rich Razzleberry Top Note diecut.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White CS and cut it out with a Spellbinder's Classic Oval die and sponged Crumb Cake ink around the edges while it was still in the die. I mounted it to a Rich Razzleberry Scallop Oval die cut and mounted that with foam dimensionals. The sentiment is a stamp I got at JoAnn's a few years ago and does not have a name on it. I also inked the edges of the Crumb Cake DSP before adhering it to the Crumb Cake card base.  The Rich Razzleberry butterfly is from SU Popillion Potpurri and the flowers are from Verve's Grateful Elegance.  I added SU pearls to the flower centers and the butterfly body.

Seize The Birthday #14

This is a great sketch for the Seize The Birthday challenge this week.  (Click on their name to go to their blog and check it out.)  I love playing with their sketches and getting some birthday cards completed.

For my card I used the colors from The Dynamic Duo challenge, but just missed their deadline.  The time slipped up on me. I love this color combo although it took me awhile to get it together.  My card base and sentiment panel are by Canvas Corp.  The DSP is SU Bashful Blue & Pumpkin Pie.  I inked the flowers from Verve's One Person set in PP and stamped on Whisper White CS.  I used my blender pens and PP ink to add some light color to the leaves of the flowers, then cut them out and added some SU pearls to the centers.  They are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Verve's Birthday to You single stamp.  I love the differnt fonts and sizes in the sentiment.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders Classic Oval, inked the center with BB ink while it was still in the die, and them mounted it on a SP Scallop Oval and mounted it with foam tape.  I did some paper piercing around the top part of my card to add a little definition.

I really like how my card turned out and I am sorry I missed the deadline for The Dynamic Duo challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

ETA:  My card received birthday honors.

Seize The Birthday #13

I made my card following this week's Seize the Birthday #13 sketch challenge, which has to be a masculine card.
I chose this cute little Elebration from SU and these pretty papers from MME Happy Day 6x6 pad. I love the colors and designs in the paper and think they make a great birthday card for a little boy. I stamped the cute elephant on X-Press It Blending Card with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Promarkers. The circles are cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 & 2 and the banner is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Layers Stax.  The sentiment is from SU Itty Bitty Banners.  I stamped it in SUBasic Gray ink and cut it out by hand.

MFTWSC119 Rock Star

Here's my card for MFTWSC119.  I wanted to use this cute little MFT ALM Rock Star as I have had her for awhile and hadn't inked her up yet.  These papers from the Colorbox Hopscotch pad were perfect for a rock star. Love the colors in them.  All DSP papers are from this pad, except the music paper which is from Teresa Collins Noel Christmas pad.  The white card base is by Canvas Corp.

I stamped the image with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card from MFT, and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I cut her out and mounted her with foam dimensionals on the music oval cut with Spellbinder's Classic Ovals. I cut the black mat by hand.  The sentiment is from the same set and is cut out with a die from MFT LJD-Howdy Frames. I pen-stitched around the edges and also inked the edges to give it some definition.  The banner is cut with Verve's Pennant Trim die, and I added some gems as any rock star needs some bling.  The pink scallop panel, striped panel, and long black strip were all cut with MFT's Blueprint 1 dies. (I love this set and now they have Blueprints 2 also).

MFTWSC118 Happy Birthday To You

Here is my card for this week's MFTWSC118.  I made a masculine card as it is for our music leader at church.  His birthday is today.

For my card I used SU Very Vanilla and Basic Black CS.  All the DSP is from Farmhouse Paper Co. Fair Skies 6x6 paper pad.  The circles and mats are cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 & 2 Die-namics.  The happy Birthday sentiment is from MFT Birthday Sentiments and the To You is from MFT DC-Gift Card Greetings.  The You is a single stamp in the set and for the To, I masked off the To in the "Yourself Today" stamp.  The tiny buttons are from my stash.

I would also like to enter this masculine card in the challenge at http://www.gingerloftchallenge.blogspot.com/

Seize The Birthday #12

Here's my birthday card for Seize the Birthday #12 sketch challenge.

I used SU Very Vanilla and Primrose Petals CS.  The DSP is from MME In Bloom 6x6 pad.  I love the pretty papers in this pad.  The flower is from Verve's One Person Set stamped on DSP in Primrose Petals ink.  I stamped two layers, cut them out, inked the edges and mounted the smaller layer with a foam dimensional.  I added a pearl to the center for some bling.  The leaves are from the same flower image, but I stamped them on SU River Rock CS, cut them out and attached them behind the flower.  The sentiment is a single stamp from Verve "Birthday To You".  I stamped it in Primrose Petals ink on an oval (tip: I traced the inside of the Lacey Oval die and cut it out as my SP ovals did not match up) and matted it with a Spellbinder's Lacey Oval.

Freshly Made Sketches #80

This is my card following Freshly Made Sketches #80 challenge.  I made a birthday card for a friend at church.

For my card I used SU Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink CS.  The DSP is from Basic Grey Hey Girl 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is stamped in SU Primrose Petals ink, matted with a Spellbinder's Lacey Scallop Oval and mounted on foam dimensionals. I have had this stamp for quite awhile and it doesn't have a name on it, so I am not sure who makes it.  I tied a Pretty In Pink taffeta ribbon bow and added some pink heart buttons from my stash.  A fairly CAS card for me.

MOJO Monday 287 - Birthday Wishes

This is a birthday card I made using Mojo Monday #287 sketch.  This is not my ususal style but I thought it turned out cute for a child's birthday card.

All the DSP is from a DCWV Celebration Stack I picked up yesterday on a shopping trip with my friend.  The white CS is from Canvas Corp.  The hardest part was deciding on which papers to use. Some of them have sparkle and shine. After I decided on the base panel, I chose colors to match it.  I used the largest Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Oval for the red panel and cut a white one also and staggered them for a matted look.  The number 7 was cut from one of the patterned papers.  The only stamping is the sentiment and frame from Verve's Borderline set.  I cut the sentiment and the mat out with Verve's Mini Classy Label die set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

Merry Monday #56 Jingle Bells

This is my card for Merry Monday #55 sketch challenge.  As you can see, I turned the sketch sideways to accommodate my hanging bells image.   All papers are Stampin Up.  The base and image panels are Naturals Ivory.  The mats are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.  I used some DSP from the Jolly Holiday pack (retired).  The sentiment and bells are from a Verve set "Bright Spirits".  I added the pine branches from SU's Watercolor Winter.  I think it added just the right touch for the hanging bells, which are paper-pieced and mounted with foam dimensionals. The ribbon is colored with Cherry Cobbler ink and a blending pen.  The sentiment panel is also mounted on foam dimensionals.  The banners are cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics.

You're so Bubbly - MFT Guest DT0413

I am throwing my hat in for the MFTGuestDT0413 challenge.  The deadline to enter is Sunday, April 7 at NOON EST.  Unfornuately this is their last Guest Designer challenge.  I love using their products and their weekly sketch challenges also.

For my card I used the cute MFT PI-Blowing Bubbles set.  I thought this would be a cute image to use for a spring time feel.  I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics and cut her out.  I paper-pieced her outfit with MME DSP from the Remarkable 6x6 pad.  The card base and center panel is SU Naturals Ivory CS.  The teal CS is from my stash and the other papers are all from the MME Remarkable pad.  I sponged the background panel of the image with SU Bashful Blue and a scalloped circle punch for the clouds and used Prismacolor Pencils for the grass.  The cute PI image is mounted with foam dimensionals.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the bubbles and bubble jar, which shows up better in the 2nd photo.  The two little tabs are made with MFT Fishtail Flags Layers Stax Die-namics.  The boder punch is from SU. To finish up my card, I stamped the sentiment under the main panel.

It's Your Day Soar High - STB#11

Here is my card for this week's Seize The Birthday #11 challenge.  It is a sketch and it has to be masculine.  My hubby loves eagles, so this will be his BD card.  The eagle is from Our Daily Bread Designs "On Eagle's Wings".  I stamped him in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  The tree image is from SU Lovely As A Tree and I stamped it multiple times with Old Olive and Always Artichoke ink.  I sponged the clouds in the background using a scallop circle punch for a mask.  The DSP is MME Come Away With Me and the CS is Choc. Chip and Crumb Cake.  I did the sentiment on my computer and punched it out with SU Oval Punch and matted with the Scalloped Oval Punch.
