Birthday Kitty

Hello friends.  I was inspired by the colors and the sketch over at Inspired By Challenge and made this birthday card for a little one at church. I love the blues, greens and yellows in the photo.

I used a Balmy Blue card base, white panel and blue & green DSP by SU.  I did change the right side pieces as I wanted the papers to be opposite one another.  I hope that is o.k.  I stamped the cute image from SU Best Day and colored with SU Blends, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green for the hat, cupcake wrapper and balloon and So Saffron for the cute kitty.  I added a little gray under the image for a shadow.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The white panel is cut with a Stitched Rectangle die and mounted with foam tape.

Festive Friday Challenge

Hello friends, would you believe this is my 3rd post today but I wanted to share this birthday card I made for my great-granddaughter, and she loved it.  I used the Festive Friday Challenge - Wear Red Day.

From the Inspo List I chose red, clothes, hat, and texture.  I embossed the white panel with SU Paint Texture EF, then added strips of older SU pattern paper in red check and blue print.  I stamped the image from MFT Saddle Up and Celebrate Stamps and dies (I can't find it on there website so it must be discontinued).  I colored her with Copics and cut her out.  I die cut a circle and sponged blue for the sky and green for the grass, and also stamped some grass images.  I mounted the cowgirl with foam tape to the circle and mounted the circle with foam tape also.  The sentiment from the same set was die cut with a die and mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

A New Technique

Hello friends.  I have a card to share using a new technique to me after seeing a new blog using old/new techniques.  It is called Group of Seven Cardmakers and was created by Loll and several blogging friends.  Can't wait to see all their creative endeavors.

After seeing all their beautiful cards I had to try the technique they were using - I used a crumbled paper towel and pounced Versamark ink on a black background and then sprinkled Liquid Platinum  and Rose Gold embossing powders over it, heat set with my heat gun and watched the pretty background appear.  I used Pinkfresh Studio Stitched Scallop Rectangles, mounted with foam tape, to frame the background.  I then die cut Simon Says Stamp Stacked Layered Daisy Stem twice to layer it for dimension.  The daisy has 2 layers so that is 4 layers on the flower.  I glued the daisy as an angle and then added the sentiment form Pinkfresh Studio Perfect Sentiments stamp and die set.

Make My Monday - Love is in the Air

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card for the new Make My Monday Challenge - Love is in the Air.  I thought an anniversary card was perfect for this theme as there is always love in the air when celebrating an anniversary.

I used Memory Box LaRue Heart to die cut the heart from a white panel.  I then embossed the panel with SU Tasteful Textile EF, glued it to the red panel and then glued the white heart back in.  The banner and sentiment are from SU Always in My Heart Stamp & die set (ret.).  I folded the ends of the banner and mounted it with foam tape in the middle and glued the ends down.  I added some red rhinestones for a little bling.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues

Hello friends.  This is my second post today as I just received my new embossing folder (Spun Glass)  from Simon Says Stamp and I wanted to play with it.   I created a card for the Color Hues Challenge using it.

I embossed the white panel with the SSS Spun Glass EF and mounted it on a pink panel cut with an MFT Blueprints 27 die, then mounted it to the white card base.  I used Spellbinders Club Blooms (Large Die of the Month Club) to cut the flower and buds from white cardstock and sponged them with Real Red ink.  The top buds are a little lighter and I made the bottom ones darker red.  The leaves and sprigs are cut from Crumb Cake (a neutral).  I stamped the sentiment from SU Art Gallery in Real Read ink and die cut with a flagged end die.  I mounted the sentiment and the flower with foam tape and glued the leaves and buds under the flower petals.  For a final touch I scattered a few clear rhinestones around and added a fancy rhinestone to the flower center.

I have to link this one to AAA Birthday Challenge #45 - Anything Birthday Goes also as I love the way it turned out.

Candles for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has chosen the "Topping" option of candles for this challenge.  Of course, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I bought this digital image (Birthday Cake Mouse) from Whimsy Stamps because I thought it was so cute and it goes perfectly with Colleen's topping choice of candles.  After printing the image, I colored it with Promarkers and die cut it with a Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Square die.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Shaded Summer and die cut it with a Stitched Oval die.  The image and sentiment panels are mounted with foam tape on a tiny pink check pattern paper from my stash, and them to the white card base.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by our party guest and the design team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join in our fun challenge.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share.  I made this one for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the top row across - White Cardstock, Flowers, Pearls.

The pretty flowers are from SU Happiness Abounds.  I colored them with SU Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends, with a touch of yellow in the centers.  After die cutting them with the matching dies, I mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the leaves under the petals.  The sentiment is from a retired set, stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and then I fussy cut around it and mounted it with foam tape.  I added 3 small pearls as a final touch.  The white panel is embossed with Spellbinders Dazzling Dots EF.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Make My Monday Challenge

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Top Four at January AAA Birthday Challenge.

Hello friends.  I have some exciting news to share - I found a new challenge to play in and they were looking  for new DT members.  I played in the challenge and was invited to join the Make My Monday Challenge Design Team and am so happy to be sharing my first card for the challenge.

The first challenge for 2023 is to choose your favorite theme from 2022 for your card.  Of course, I went with a birthday theme as I am always making birthday cards for friends and family.  I  chose Challenge #185 - Birthday Wishes.  Here is my card.

For my card I embossed a Smokey Slate panel with Gina K. Designs Lattice EF and then swiped white ink across the raised areas for a little more definition.  The white panel is cut with Pinkfresh Studio Braided Oval die.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Little Delights (ret.) and added the oval panel with foam tape to the gray panel.  The flowers are from SSS Delicate Flowers.  I stamped them on watercolor paper with Versamark ink and embossed with black powder.  I used SU Berry Burst ink (ret.) and my water brush to watercolor the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves; then added a little Crushed Curry ink to the large flower center.  I glued these around the bottom of the oval and added a little foam tape under the leaves off the panel.   For a final touch,  I scattered a few clear rhinestones around for a little bling.

Be sure the check out which 2022 theme the designers chose over at Make My Monday and join in with our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for 3 challenges

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I had 3 different challenges in mind when I made this card.  I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the colors from Color Throwdown Challenge (red, green and brown) and AAA Birthday Challenge - Anything Birthday Goes.

I stamped the pretty bud from Altenew Peony Bouquet 3 times, colored it with SU Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green, and then die cut it with the matching die.  I die cut 3 small stitched squares from SU Chocolate Chip (ret.) to mount them on.  I mounted them with foam tape under the bud and glued the stems down.  The green pattern paper is from my stash.  The sentiment from SU Celebrate With Flowers (ret.) is stamped in Choc. Chip ink.  I thought the vertical sentiment would be perfect with the sketch design.

Seize the Birthday - Winged Things

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and the topping option chosen by Cathy is Winged Things.

I blended Speckled Egg DOI over a white panel and then stamped the stem image from SU Celebrate With Flowers (ret.) several times across the bottom of the panel, overlapping them.  I had the butterflies already stamped and die cut, so I colored them with Copics and glued just the body section to the panel. I also glued the butterfly antenna down so they wouldn't get bent or broke off.  I then added the panel to my card base.

Be sure to check out all the lovely cards with winged things by our team and guest designers over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Another January Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card I am sharing today.  This is the last one for January.

I used my new Spellebinders Optical Arches  EF on the white panel and matted it with a black scallop mat cut with an MFT Blueprints 27 die.  The sentiment is from SU Celebrating You cut with an MFT die as is the black mat.   The flowers are some I had already stamped and laying in my stash of unused items.  I don't remember who they are by.  I had several of them so I colored two with SU Sweet Sorbet and Granny Apple Green Blends.  The originals only have 2 blooms but I colored another one and cut one of the blooms to make it fuller.  I mounted the flowers and sentiment with foam tape.

I will link to Darnell's NBUS challenge as this is the first time I have used this EF.

Another Christmas Card

Hello Friends.  I made another Christmas card with some new dies I didn't get to use this Christmas so I am getting ready for next Christmas. :)

I die cut Altenew 3D Poinsettia from SU Cherry Cobbler card and shaped the petals with my fingers.  I also added a little Diamond Stickles Glitter to the petal tips.  I glued the 4 layers together and added a glitter gem to the center.  I mounted this on a panel of Crumb Cake card that I had stamped with an MFT Christmas type background stamp in Whisper White ink.  I die cut Creative Expressions Merry Christmas once from gold foil and layered it over 2 more Crumb Cake die cuts for dimension.  I really like the final result and will be making more cards with the 3D Poinsettia dies.

I will link this to a new challenge I found which is Make My Monday Challenge and they are asking for cards with Something New.

and another new challenge I found - Inspire, Create Challenge  #133 - New to You.

Birthday Card for Color Hues

Hello friends.  This is my second post today and I made a card using the new Color Hues Challenge colors of Lt. Pink and Gold.

I die cut gold stripe paper from SU Gold Silver DSP (ret.) using a SU Scalloped Contours die (ret.) and added it to the card base.  The lt. pink flowers were cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs Floral 7.  I shaped the 3 layers with my fingers, glued them together and added a gold gem (Hobby Lobby) to the centers.  The open leaves were cut from gold foil paper using a die from SU Cottage Rose set.  The sentiment panel was die cut with a SU Ornate Layers Die (ret.) and gold embossed with a sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts (also ret.); I love the font in this stamp and use it quite often.  I mounted the sentiment panel with foam tape and glued the flowers and leaves on opposite corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

It's the Best Day

 Hello friends.  HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I have a new birthday card to share today.  This one is for a young girl at church who is turning 6 next week.

I used this cute image from MFT Sweet BD Wishes, stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I colored her with Copics, fussy cut her out and then mounted with foam tape.  The white curved panel is die cut with SSS  Dot Scallop Border, then mounted over a panel of pink plaid paper from my stash.  The sentiment is from SU Best Day (new Jan- April Mini Catalog).  I added 3 tiny pink pearls for a little bling.

I am linking to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Party, as she definitely has to have a party for her birthday.
