Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I saw several challenges that I was inspired by so I made a card that fit all 4 of them.

ETA:  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

This is my first time using Altenew's Cute Open Rose die.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from white and blended SU Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral on the flower layers and Rustic Wilderness DOI on the leaves.  I glued the layers together and added the centers cut from Crumb Cake and colored the bottom layer with a brown marker.  The white circle was cut with a stitched circle die and embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) for a little texture.  After gluing the circle to the Soft Succulent card panel (Tasteful Textile EF), I glued the flowers and leaves to the circle element.  The sentiment is cut twice with Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Poe Script die.  I layered them for a little extra dimension.  I really love the finished card.

First is The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge - the center row down.

and The Flower Challenge - sketch challenge

and to JUGS challenge - die week #791

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Blue and Red Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.   I made this one for a little one at church who is turning two.

The images are from SSS Party Like A Panda. I stamped them in Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored them with SU Azure Afternoon and Real Read Blends.  The horn is colored with a Zig Gold marker.  I die cut the Panda and the Happy balloons with the matching dies and fussy cut Birthday.  The white oval and red frame are cut using SU Impressions Abloom dies.  I also used SU Pattern of Friendship Die on the white oval and then glued the red frame around it.  Then I used  The Greetery Stencils and SU Azure Afternoon ink on the background panel and added it to the Azure Afternoon card base.  I glued the oval on and then mounted the images with foam tape.

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time of have used the Pattern Of Friendship Die

and to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge - bottom row across (Red, Stencil, Rectangle Shape-card)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for Two Challenges

Hello friends.  I saw the new Color Hues Challenge of Pink and Grey so naturally I thought of flowers and the Flower Challenge which wants us to add embellishments.

I used a new to me set from Altenew called Dreamy Dahlias - stamps, dies, and stencils.   It is a large image so I used my SU Stamparatus (ret.) to stamp the image on white.  I used blending brushes, the stencils and SU Bubble Bath, Pretty in Pink, Smokey Slate and Basic Gray inks to color the image.  I then cut it apart to fit on my card (5-1/2 by 4-1/4).  I die cut SSS Double Plaid Cover from white and adhered it to the card base.  I then arranged the flowers like I wanted, sticking the flower stems under the bottom of the die cut and adding foam tape to the flowers and leaves.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey ink and glued it over the flower stems.  I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops, which matched the flowers perfectly, for embellishments. I really like the finished card and it will be going to some good friends for their anniversary.

I will also link to Darnells NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Altenew set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card to share today.  There are several couples in church with anniversaries in August and I am getting ready.  I usually make anniversary cards for all the couples in church.  I also used the colors for the new Color Hues Challenge on this one. Naturally I thought of flowers when I saw the colors. :)

I used an older flower stamp from SU Birthday Blooms.  There is no matching die so I stamped several and cut them with my Scan & Cut and they cut perfectly.  I colored the blooms with SU Lemon Lolly & Granny Apple Green Blends.  I die cut 2 MFT Rounded Corner Banner Stax in White & Black.  The black one was a little larger so I had to trim it down as I wanted a thinner mat to match the mat on the green gingham paper (from Hobby Lobby).    I stamped the sentiment from SU Layers of Beauty set and them glued to the black mat.  I mounted the banner with foam tape and glued the flower image to the banner, added a little foam tape under the bottom leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a red & white card I made for the Color Hues Challenge and just getting it done in the nick of time.

I used some older SU pattern paper and matted with Real Red card stock, then glued to the white card base..  The PTI Into The Blooms Dahlia was also cut from Real Red card.  The center is cut from white and I added a red rhinestone.  I used PTI Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket die to cut the white panel.  I also cut one from red, cut it in half to mat the white one and also cut the end to place at the top to have a mat for the whole frame.  I mounted the whole panel with foam tape to the pattern paper after stamping the sentiment, which is from an older Verve stamp set.  I die cut the two leaves from white using a die from Simon Says Stamp Hanging Leaf Ring set and glued them under the edge of the flower.  I also added 3 red rhinestones to the top right corner of the white panel.

Anniversary Card for 2 Challenges

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some friends at church.  I made this with two challenges in mind -

Color Hues Challenge - Coral and Green

The Flower Challenge - Add Embossing

I embossed a SU Soft Sea Foam panel with Spellbinders Christmas Wrap Pattern EF and glued to the white card base.  I used my new Gina K. Designs Flower Medley stamps, dies, and stencils to make the pretty flower images.  After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I used the stencils to blend SU Grapefruit Grove (ret.), a hue of Coral, Granny Apple  Green, and Old Olive inks to the flowers & leaves.  I die cut the images with the matching dies.  I used Spellbinders Essential Diamonds dies to cut a white panel and a mat of Grapefruit Grove.  I stamped the sentiment (an older Verve stamp) in Grapefruit Grove ink, then glued the 2 panels together.  I mounted the diamonds with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with foam tape in opposite corners.  I colored 5 clear rhinestones with the SU Dark Calypso Coral Blend and glued them around the diamond panels.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the Gina K. Designs set.

Blue & Yellow Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card that I made for the Color Hues Challenge - Blue & Yellow.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as the Headliner at The Paper Players.

I made these pretty blue flowers with an older SU punch.  It has 3 petals so I punched it twice for each flower from some lt. blue card by Recollections (Michael's).  I used Copic Markers B21 and B45 to flick the strokes on the petals and colored the centers in with B45.  I shaped the petals with my fingers and then glued them together.  I added a fancy rhinestone gem to the center of each flower.  The white panel was die cut with a trellis die from SU Linked Together and then embossed with the Cross-Hatch EF.  I glued the panel to a lt. yellow panel (also Recollections) and then glued the trellis back in.  I glued the flowers in opposite corners.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments stamp & die set.  After die cutting the sentiment, I cut 2 plain layers and glued them together for dimension and then glued it to the center of the trellis.

I will also add this to The Flower Challenge, as I think the trellis counts as stripes (I hope so).
and to The Paper Players - Something Old, Something New (the punch is several years old and the SU trellis die cut is new to me.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Lime and Yellow Birthday

Hello Friends.  I made a birthday card with two challenges in mind - The Flower Challenge and Color Hues.

I recently watched this video by Tina Smith that showed how she used two sizes of pierced circle dies to make a background on her card.  I thought it was neat and wanted to try it.  I didn't have the same dies she used but had Spellbinders Essential Circles dies that has solid circles and dotted circles. I used the 3 smallest of the dies and made my background panel.  While trying to decide how I wanted to decorate the panel, I saw Color Hues challenge today and decided to go with yellow flowers and lime leaves.  I used a piece of Bristol Smooth 100# card and blended Mustard Seed DOI on it to die cut the flowers from Spellbinders Floral Spray.  I also cut some buds using Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms.  The Lime Green card is from a Recollections pack from Michaels. I cut a panel to back the white panel and also cut the leaves and flower stems from it.  I already had several of the Birthday Wishes white embossed sentiments so used one of them on my card.  I really like the finished card.

I am linking to Color Hues Challenge - Lime and Yellow

and to The Flower Challenge -  Add Circles.  It is also their 100th challenge and there are prizes.

Green & White Birthday for 3 (or 4) Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used my new Pinkfresh Studios Dashing Daisies Press Plate with white ink on the Granny Apple Green panel and think it turned out so pretty.  I did several colors but wanted to use this one for Color Hues.
The big white flower and leaves are made with Sizzix Corsage die (retired). I cut the flower center from Granny Apple Green card and added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) for some bling.  The sentiment is from SU Labeled With Love and cut with a stitched oval die,  I mounted the oval with foam tape.

I am sharing at the Color Hues Challenge - Green & White.

and to the Double D Challenge - Going Green

I will also link this one to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have use the press plate and the dies.

Thanks Lisa, I will add this to the JUGS challenge - dies - birthday

Color Hues 100th Challenge

Hello friends.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  Well it has been a busy month and I haven't posted any cards but have been busy making Christmas and Birthday cards.  I finally got one done for the Color Hues Challenge. It is their 100th challenge and I wanted to play along.

ETA;  My card was chosen as one of the Top 3 at Triple B Challenge.

I have had this Pinkfresh Studio Butterflies set for quite a while and this is the first time I have used it.  I thought it would be pretty in purple and blue and I like the way it tuned out.  I colored it with SU Azure Afternoon and Highland Heather Blends.  I also added some Stickles Diamond for a little extra glitz.  The sentiment is cut with Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script.  I did not use the bottom layer but cut the top layer from SU Highland Heather card.  I glued the sentiment to the white panel cut with Alex Syberia Sparkly Flakes Cover Die. I glued the body of the butterfly down and added foam tape under the wings.

I will also add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this set.

and to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms & Butterflies

Thanks Card

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for a friend who deserves many thanks.  I used the colors from the Color Hues Challenge - Pink & Aqua, and the theme from The Flower Challenge - Thanks.

I also used some new goodies to make my card - SSS Rustic Layering Flower, PTI Cornered: Lace die, and an older Altenew Bold Thanks die.  I die cut the corners from the white panel and added it to a panel of SU Coastal Cabana.  I lightly blended some SU Pretty in Pink ink in the center where I wanted to place the flowers. I die cut two sets of flowers and leaves from white card.  I blended Coastal Cabana ink on the stem & leaves and then snipped the leaves from the stems so I could place them where I wanted them.  I blended Pretty in Pink in to the centers of the flowers and also the die cut centers.  I glued all the layers together and place them to the top of the white panel and then glued the stems under the flowers.  I glued the leaves to different spots on the stems.  I die cut Thanks from Pretty in Pink card and added it to the background layer cut from vellum.  I glued the sentiment across the bottom of the stems and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

Thinking of You

Hello Friends.  This is my second post today, scroll down for my Color Throwdown #810 post.

I made this card for a friend that just got out of the hospital after major surgery.

I used Rusty Hinge DOI and inked a piece of off-white card to die cut Spellbinders Sunflower Serenade 4 times and then layered them.  The center pieces were cut from SU Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.  The leaves and stems are cut from SU Shaded Spruce.  I embossed a panel of off-white card using Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF, then mounted it to a Crumb Cake panel and then to the card base. I glued the sunflowers to the bottom section of the card, cutting the stem a little shorter on one of the flowers..  The sentiment from SU Layered Leaves is stamped in black on a stitched oval and mounted with foam tape.

I am linking to the Color Hues Challenge as I used their current colors to create my card.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues #92

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card I made using the colors from Color Hues - Pink & Brown.

I just received this stamp, die & stencil set from Pinkfresh Studio called Delighted for You and had to use it.  I stamped the pretty flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Pretty in Pink and Crumb Cake Blends. It was hard to do brown leaves instead of green, but I am happy how it turned out.  I didn't use the stencils this time but look forward to using them next time.  I die cut the image and mounted it with foam tape on a white panel embossed with Altenew Natural Wicker EF.  I then mounted the panel to a Pretty in Pink panel and then to the white card base.  The sentiment from a retired SU set was stamped in SU Soft Suede ink (ret.), fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

I am also linking to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time of have used this set and also the embossing folder.
