Seize the Birthday - Add Gold

Hello Friends and happy Thursday.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and this time TaeEun would like us to add gold to our card.   Remember the only requirement is that it has to be a birthday project.

For my card I embossed the background in gold with Pinkfresh Studio's Diamond Tiles and also embossed the greeting from SU Magnolia Blooms in gold on a stitched oval die cut.  The flower is from SU So Much Love stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and colored with markers.  I mounted the oval and the flower with foam tape.

You can see the gold embossing better in this photo. It is so pretty in person.

Be sure to check our all the great cards by the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will play along with us.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happiest of Birthdays

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share that I made using Freshly Made Sketches #450.
When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to make a card and had to decide which flower to use on it.  I started with a Smoky Slate layer embossed with SU Parisian Flourish EF and then swiped white ink over the raised areas.  I then die cut the white panel with SU Ornate Layers dies.  The flowers are made with Daisy Lane stamps and matching punch, stamped in Real Red ink.  I also used SU Leaf Punch and Wild Wasabi card for the leaves.  I added some clear glitter gems to the center of the flowers.  The sentiment is from Birthday Blooms (retired).  I had a little ink smudge but the layer was already adhered with foam tape so it had to stay.  Overall, I am pleased with the final result.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow Colors

Hell friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara has chosen rainbow colors for our "Toppings" option.  Remember, if you are not into the "toppings" option, the only requirement is that it has to be a birthday project.

I used various Distress Inks in rainbow colors to sponge my main panel.  I then added the die cut leaves wreath and flowers from SU Build a Wreath die set.  The yellow flowers went well with the background and green leaves.  I mounted the wreath over a die cut stitched circle and stamped the sentiment from SU Peaceful Moments.  I added gold glitter gems to the flower centers and mounted the whole panel with foam tape.  I added a thin black mat to make the colored panel pop.  I really like the finished card.  I need to do more sponged backgrounds. :)

Be sure to check our all the fabulous cards by my teammates and our guest designer over at Seize the Birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  This one is for my great-grandson who is turning 7.
First I sponged the background panel with lt. blue and green inks.  I stamped these cute birthday critters from MFT Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes and cut them with the matching dies.  I colored them with assorted Copics and was pleased with the way they turned out.  I added a bunch of the confetti which comes in the set and colored with different markers.  I added the small blue dots with the ball on my stylus.  I combined two of the sentiments in the set by masking part of the one with Wishes.  The sentiment and the critters are mounted with foam tape.

I will link this up at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Midsummer Blues (I have lots of blue on my card, plus a blue card base)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a birthday card for a young girl at church.  I was inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest.
I changed a few things like the bear image, the embossed background (I used a retired SU EF), and omitted the banner sentiment.  I used MFT Beary Special Birthday stamps and dies, Stitched Circle dies and Happy Birthday Circle Frame die.  The image is colored with Promarkers and mounted with foam tape.  I added 3 small pink dots.  I thought it was such a cute card and perfect for a little 4 year old girl.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I am linking to The Flower Challenge - add sparkle.

For my card I used some new stamps from Pinkfresh - Layered Bouquet Stamp & Die set for the pretty blooms and Diamond Tiles for the background.  I stamped the background in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added a thin black mat.  I used my Stamparatus to stamp the layered flowers & leaves in Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamino (flowers) and Pear Pizzazz & Old Olive (leaves).  I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and I tried to get a good photo of it, you can see it some in the photo below.

The sentiment is from an older SU set and I embossed it with white on black and hand cut the flagged ends.  I mounted the fowers and sentiment with foam tape.  I was pleased with the final card.  You will probably see these flowers on more cards as I die cut and stamped several of them.

Thanks to Darnell, I will be adding this to her NBUS Challenge also as I had not used the flower stamps before.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary for The Paper Players

Hello friends.  I have been busy making birthday and anniversary cards for family & friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card for a couple of friends at church.  I am linking to The Paper Players - Wedding/Anniversary challenge.

ETA:  My card was one of the A Cut Above picks at The Paper Players.
This is a CASE card from The Technique Tuesday site.  I was inspired by this card
and had to get this Royal Jasmine stamp & die set.  I  made a few minor changes to my card:  the embossing folder, sentiment and added a little more color with SU Petal Pink Blends.   I only used 3 clear gems and added a lt. green mat.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates stamped on a stitched circle die cut.  The flower image and the sentiment are raised with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
