Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I saw several challenges that I was inspired by so I made a card that fit all 4 of them.

ETA:  My card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players.

This is my first time using Altenew's Cute Open Rose die.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from white and blended SU Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral on the flower layers and Rustic Wilderness DOI on the leaves.  I glued the layers together and added the centers cut from Crumb Cake and colored the bottom layer with a brown marker.  The white circle was cut with a stitched circle die and embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) for a little texture.  After gluing the circle to the Soft Succulent card panel (Tasteful Textile EF), I glued the flowers and leaves to the circle element.  The sentiment is cut twice with Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Poe Script die.  I layered them for a little extra dimension.  I really love the finished card.

First is The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge - the center row down.

and The Flower Challenge - sketch challenge

and to JUGS challenge - die week #791

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for A Few Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used a new set from Gina K. Designs, Flower Medley, for the pretty blooms.  After stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I colored them with Copic markers and die cut with the matching dies.  I embossed a panel of Pool Party with SU Distressed Tile EF and added it to the white card base.  I then die cut a panel of Lost Lagoon with a stitched rectangle die and white with a smaller stitched rectangle die.  I adhered these two panels together and then adhered them to the card.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the extra leaves and bud under the edges.  I glued white enamel dots to the centers of the flowers and colored 3 smaller white enamel dots with a Copic marker to match the flowers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts.

I am linking to The Flower Challenge - Add Embellishments

and to Just Us Girls - die week, Florals.

and to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies (didn't use the inspiration board)

I will also add this to Darnell's IDEAS Challenge - Dies.  This is the first time I have joined and need to do it more often.  Thanks Darnell.

Happy Anniversary for Two Challenges

Hello friends.  I saw the new Color Hues Challenge of Pink and Grey so naturally I thought of flowers and the Flower Challenge which wants us to add embellishments.

I used a new to me set from Altenew called Dreamy Dahlias - stamps, dies, and stencils.   It is a large image so I used my SU Stamparatus (ret.) to stamp the image on white.  I used blending brushes, the stencils and SU Bubble Bath, Pretty in Pink, Smokey Slate and Basic Gray inks to color the image.  I then cut it apart to fit on my card (5-1/2 by 4-1/4).  I die cut SSS Double Plaid Cover from white and adhered it to the card base.  I then arranged the flowers like I wanted, sticking the flower stems under the bottom of the die cut and adding foam tape to the flowers and leaves.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey ink and glued it over the flower stems.  I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops, which matched the flowers perfectly, for embellishments. I really like the finished card and it will be going to some good friends for their anniversary.

I will also link to Darnells NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Altenew set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I saw the inspiration photo at The Flower Challenge and had to make a card for it using my new Spellbinders Cosmos dies.

I die cut 3 sets of flowers from white card and ink blended Salty Ocean DOI over them, making it darker in the centers.  I shaped them with my stylus before gluing together.  I die cut 3 of the spikey centers from black for each flower, shaped them with my stylus and glued together.  I added a rhinestone to the centers.  I found this peach colored DSP in my stash (it looks lighter in the photo) and thought it would make a good background.  I glued it to the front of the white card base and then had to decide how I wanted to arrange the flowers.  I tried several ways before I decided to make a white square, embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF, turned in a diamond shape for the sentiment, and then arranged the flowers around the bottom.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts Stamp & Die set.  I stamped it in SU Pumpkin Pie, die cut it, and added 3 plain white die cuts for dimension, then glued it to the diamond shape.

I will also link to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterfiles.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Best Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a fun fold Birthday card to share today.  I saw these cards on Pinterest and followed Jackie's video tutorial to create my card.

I used Crumb Cake for my card base and for the center panel.  After cutting the angle in the front of the card, I used some pattern paper from Scrapbook.com Vintage Patterned Collection that I thought went well with Crumb Cake.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Poised Peony (ret.) and then embossed the white panel with SU Subtle EF (ret.).  I already had the flowers stamped from SU Spotlight on Nature and fussy cut, so I colored them with Petal Pink & Soft Succulent Blends so they would match the color of the flowers in the paper.  I glued the flowers on and then glued the white panel  on.  On the inside I added another white panel with s sentiment from an older stamp from Hobby Lobby.  The photo below shows how the card opens.

I really like the finished card and now have to decide who to send it to. :)

I will link to The Flower Challenge as I do have dry embossing on the front panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Card for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I made this one with The Flower Challenge in mind.  They are looing for embossing - heat or dry.  I used dry embossing.

I used some retired SU products for my card.  The flowers are from Blended Seasons, colored with SU Pale Papaya  and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut the flowers and mounted them with foam tape to a white panel cut with a die from the new SU Impressions Abloom (on-line exclusive).  The sentiment is from SU Go To Greetings.  I mounted this panel to a Pale Papaya panel embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF, and then to the white card base.  I really like the finished card and hope the recipient does also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Card for 2 Challenges

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some friends at church.  I made this with two challenges in mind -

Color Hues Challenge - Coral and Green

The Flower Challenge - Add Embossing

I embossed a SU Soft Sea Foam panel with Spellbinders Christmas Wrap Pattern EF and glued to the white card base.  I used my new Gina K. Designs Flower Medley stamps, dies, and stencils to make the pretty flower images.  After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I used the stencils to blend SU Grapefruit Grove (ret.), a hue of Coral, Granny Apple  Green, and Old Olive inks to the flowers & leaves.  I die cut the images with the matching dies.  I used Spellbinders Essential Diamonds dies to cut a white panel and a mat of Grapefruit Grove.  I stamped the sentiment (an older Verve stamp) in Grapefruit Grove ink, then glued the 2 panels together.  I mounted the diamonds with foam tape and then mounted the flowers with foam tape in opposite corners.  I colored 5 clear rhinestones with the SU Dark Calypso Coral Blend and glued them around the diamond panels.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the Gina K. Designs set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Card for the Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today.  I wanted to do another card for The Flower Challenge - Add Spots or Stripes.

I had all the pieces done from other cards except for the main white panel which is embossed with a very old SU/Sizzix Perfect Polka Dots EF.  The flowers from Pinkfresh Studios Be Fearless set were already stamped, stenciled with SU Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Soft Succulent inks and die cut .  The Basic Beige oval and black frame are die cut with SU Impressions Abloom dies (an On-Line Exclusive).  The beige oval was already embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments stamp & die set.  It has 2 plain layers plus the stamped layer.  I glued the sentiment in the center of the oval and added the flowers with foam tape to the top and bottom of the oval and my card was done.  I really like the card and am glad I was able to use all the pieces together.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

I will also link the the AAA Birthday Challenge - it is their 6th Birthday.

Blue & Yellow Birthday Card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card that I made for the Color Hues Challenge - Blue & Yellow.

ETA:  Yea, my card was chosen as the Headliner at The Paper Players.

I made these pretty blue flowers with an older SU punch.  It has 3 petals so I punched it twice for each flower from some lt. blue card by Recollections (Michael's).  I used Copic Markers B21 and B45 to flick the strokes on the petals and colored the centers in with B45.  I shaped the petals with my fingers and then glued them together.  I added a fancy rhinestone gem to the center of each flower.  The white panel was die cut with a trellis die from SU Linked Together and then embossed with the Cross-Hatch EF.  I glued the panel to a lt. yellow panel (also Recollections) and then glued the trellis back in.  I glued the flowers in opposite corners.  The sentiment is from The Greetery Arched Sentiments stamp & die set.  After die cutting the sentiment, I cut 2 plain layers and glued them together for dimension and then glued it to the center of the trellis.

I will also add this to The Flower Challenge, as I think the trellis counts as stripes (I hope so).
and to The Paper Players - Something Old, Something New (the punch is several years old and the SU trellis die cut is new to me.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

New and Old

HAPPY EASTER. Hope you have had a Blessed Resurrection Sunday.

I have a new anniversary card to share today.  I made this one using some old and new products from Stampin Up and I really like how it turned out.  It will be going to some really good friends for their anniversary soon.

The old is the flower, buds and leaves from the retired Paper Florist dies and the new is the Mini Corrugated EF, which I really like.  I die cut the petals for the flower from Bristol smooth card and blended Worn Lipstick DOI on them.  I shaped them with my stylus and glued the 6 petals together, then added the black die cut center.  I also added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) to the center for a little bling.  The leaves were die cut from Old Olive card and the small leaves and bud stems from Pear Pizzazz.  The buds were cut from a scrap of lt. pink card.  I added the flower with foam tape and then glued the leaves around it.  I also added foam tape under the small buds.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates (ret.), fussy cut it and added it with foam tape.

I am adding to The Flower Challenge - use Spring Colors.

and to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, & Butterflies

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I used my new embossing folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Blue & Coral Birthday card

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I had these flowers from an older SU set, Fresh Cut Flowers, stamped for a while but had not used them.  I colored them with SU Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends, then cut them with the matching die.  I snipped off the bottom leaves so it would fit on the white die cut from SU Thoughtful Expressions dies.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Labeled With Love and then mounted the flowers with foam tape.  This was added to the lt. blue panel embossed with Altenew Checkered Diamonds 3D EF.  I then glued the lt. blue panel to the white card base and my card was done.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

and The Flower Challenge - Use Spring Colors

Lime and Yellow Birthday

Hello Friends.  I made a birthday card with two challenges in mind - The Flower Challenge and Color Hues.

I recently watched this video by Tina Smith that showed how she used two sizes of pierced circle dies to make a background on her card.  I thought it was neat and wanted to try it.  I didn't have the same dies she used but had Spellbinders Essential Circles dies that has solid circles and dotted circles. I used the 3 smallest of the dies and made my background panel.  While trying to decide how I wanted to decorate the panel, I saw Color Hues challenge today and decided to go with yellow flowers and lime leaves.  I used a piece of Bristol Smooth 100# card and blended Mustard Seed DOI on it to die cut the flowers from Spellbinders Floral Spray.  I also cut some buds using Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms.  The Lime Green card is from a Recollections pack from Michaels. I cut a panel to back the white panel and also cut the leaves and flower stems from it.  I already had several of the Birthday Wishes white embossed sentiments so used one of them on my card.  I really like the finished card.

I am linking to Color Hues Challenge - Lime and Yellow

and to The Flower Challenge -  Add Circles.  It is also their 100th challenge and there are prizes.

Pink for the Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share today.  I made this one with the Flower Challenge in mind where they are looking for the color pink.

I used a new SU stamp & die set - Mixed Florals (on-line exclusive).  I stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Blends - Pretty in Pink, Flirty Flamingo (small flowers) and Granny Apple Green.  I cut them with the matching die and added them with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF.  Added a thin black mat and then mounted to a Pretty in Pink card base.  The sentiment is from SU Unbounded Love, die cut with an Altenew die and mounted with foam tape.

I will also link to The Triple B Challenge  (I love making floral cards)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thank You Cards

Hello friends.  A friend requested several Thank You cards so I am sharing a few I made for her.

I used Altenew Adore You stamp set for this one.  I colored the flowers with SU Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Blends.  The leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut the images as I did not have a die for them.  I embossed the white panel with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.) and added a white strip across the middle. I stamped the sentiment from the same set on the white strip and then glued two small strips of Granny Apple Green card stock to the two long edges. I then glued it to the panel.

I got this idea from a card on Pinterest.  I stamped the Crumb Cake panel with an older MFT Burlap Background Stamp in Crumb Cake ink.  I matted it to a Garden Green mat and then added the blue gingham strip.  I die cut the white circle with a die from Spotlight on Nature dies and then stamped the heart from SU Heart Shaped stamp set in Garden Green ink.  The cute blue flowers and sentiment banner are from the matching die set and thank you is from the heart stamp set.

My last card uses SU Memorable Blooms stamp & die set.  The octagon shape is from the die set and is cut from a white panel, then embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and mounted with foam tape.  I used an older text stamp to stamp in the octagon shape in Crum Cake ink.  The flowers are stamped, colored with SU Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends, and then die cut with the matching die.  I added foam tape to the section over the cut out area and glued the left side to the embossed panel.  I also added a green leaf die cut under the stamped image.  Thank you is from an older SU set, stamped on a stitched oval die cut, and then mounted with foam tape.

She really liked the cards and I am glad as I liked them too. :)

I will share the first card at The Flower Challenge (thanks Michele) as they are looking for Pink.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
