Seize the Birthday - Inspired by a Book

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen the "Topping" option of Be Inspired by A Book. Of course, if you don't choose the topping option,  the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I hardly ever read a book so I researched the title of some books and found The Sun Also Rises - not sure what it is about but I liked the title so I picked out seveal stamps and dies that I thought would make a good scene and showed the sun rising.  The stamped images are from a retired SU set Oceanfront and the black die cuts are from SU Paradise Palms (ret.).  I die cut a framed using 2 stitched rectangle dies and stamped it with a woodgrain stamp.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Artistically Inked and mounted the frame with foam tape.  The scene is made with the panel cut from the center of the frame  die cut and glued to the card base.

I will also link to Tic Tac Toe - my card fits the top row across and the middle row down.

Be sure to check out all the team's cards and see how they were inspired by a book.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Seize the Birthday - Circle/Circles

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has chosen the "Topping" option of Circle/Circles.  We also have a new Surprise Party Guest joining us for July and August - Isabella from Izzy Scraps.

I used all Stampin' Up products for this card - Night of Navy for the background panel and leaves; Merry Merlot ink for sentiment (from a retired set), die cut with a circle Stitched Shapes die, and Merry Merlot cardstock on which I embossed the larger flower from Irresistible Blooms (SU On-Line Exclusive) with white embossing powder.  The white panel is die cut with a circle die from the Irresistible Blooms die set and then embossed with one of the new 3D EF which is an On-Line Exclusive.  I mounted the die cut sentiment and the flower with foam tape.  The leaves are glued under the petals.

I am linking to the Color Hues challenge as I used their current colors of Merlot & Navy.

Now hop over to Seize the Birthday and check out the way the team used circles for their wonderful cards.  I know you will be inspired and I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Baby Card

Hello friends.  I have a baby card to share today.  I went to a baby shower this past weekend and this is the card I made.  I also made her a baby album and will show photos of that later.

The baby clothes images are from Sweet 'N Sassy Oh Baby stamp and die set.  I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with SU Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake, and Daffodil Delight Blends.  The sentiment and baby rattles are from an older Verve Little Ones set and colored with the same blends.  I die cut the sentiment with SU Stylish Shapes die and added a Soft Suede mat.  I mounted the sentiment and images with foam tape to a Seaside Spray panel embossed with SU Timeworn Type EF which is also matted with Soft Suede and then added to the white card base.

I will link to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Make My Monday - Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and it is a birthday theme chosen by Debbie.  I make a lot of birthday cards for family and friends so this was a perfect theme for me..

I used Spellbinders Gerber Daisy to make the pink flower and green leaves.  I shaped the petals of the flower with my fingers before gluing the 3 layers together, adding the yellow center and then a sparkly gem to the center.  I mounted the daisy on a white panel cut with SU Radiating Stitches die.  The greeting is from an old SU set stamped in Early Espresso ink.  I mounted this panel to my card base and the card was done.

I hope you will check out all the cards by the team over at Make My Monday and join in our challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
