ETA:  Yea, my card was a Fave at Festive Friday.

FF#001 Festive Friday Faves

I made a side step card from SU Balmy Blue card.  I punched the bottom of both sides with a retired SU pumch.  I cut 3 drawers and inked around the edges with Balmy Blue ink and mounted them with foam tape.  I added a piece of plaid pattern paper from my stash on the right side.  I stamped the cute onesie from Sweet n' Sassy Oh Baby set, colored with SU Balmy Blue and Soft Suede Blends, then mounted it with foam tape  The cute little images on the bottom are from MFT Hello, Little One stamp & die set.  I colored them with Copics and glued them to the bottom.    I added little pearls for the drawer handles and as a hanger for the onesie.

I will link to Festive Challenge Grandparents Day.  I chose Fancy Fold, Plaid and Pearls.

Happy Birthday in Emboss Resist Technique

Hello friends.  I have a new card to share today.  I made this one with a new technique I tried for the first time, emboss resist for the CAS Mix Up challenge.

I have used wet embossing, stamping, die cutting and sponging.

I used the Altenew Grid Stencil and stamped my Versamark ink pad over the center part and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I sponged Speckled Egg DOI over part of the embossing for a background for the lovely flower spray from Taylored Expressions Bursting Blooms.  I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with SU Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I cut it with the matching dies and snipped the top section off so it would fit on my card.  I embossed the sentiment from a retired SU set and cut it into a banner shape.  The blooms and the sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

I will also link to MYNBUS challenge as this is the first time I have used the Grid Stencil and the Bursting Blooms stamp and die set.

Seize the Birthday - Follow a Sketch

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and it is my turn to host.  I chose a sketch to follow.  Sketches are a great place to start when you need a starting point or a little inspiration..

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

I embossed the white panel with an older EF from Lifestyle Crafts called Courtyard 2 - it was a set of 2. The pattern paper is some older SU paper.  The flower and leaves are from a new SU set called Happiness Abounds.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Blends - Lt. and Dark Daffodil Delight, with a touch of  Lt. Pumpkin Pie for shading.  The leaves were colored with Lt. and Dark Old Olive.  After die cutting them, I mounted the flower with foam tape and glued the leaves under the petals.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts and die cut with an Ornate Frames die, then mounted it with foam tape also.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share today.  I made this one for CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Pine.

The white panel is embossed with Spellbinders Forever Green EF.  I used 4 different Memory Box dies for the Pine Needle Border - 2 layers off set to look fuller; Snowflake Ornament cut from champagne foil and layered over a silver glitter  bottom layer.; Special Merry Christmas cut from champagne foil and layered over 2 white die cut layers; and finally Precious Hearts for the bow - I used the smaller one and glued the heart under the ornament and the bow on the pine needle border.  The ornament is mounted with foam tape.

I am also linking to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies (I have used several dies)

Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I made this one with The Flower Challenge #71 in mind.  They are asking for circle/circles this month.

I used my new Spellbinders Puff Dotty EF for the background as it has lots of circles.  I stamped the sentiment on a SU Stitched Circle die cut and mounted it with foam tape.  The flowers and leaves are from Reverse Confetti Peony stamp and die set.  I colored them with SU Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Blends.  The flower is mounted with foam tape and the leaves glued under the petals. I also added Wink of Stella to the flower for a little shine, but it doesn't show in the photo.

I am also linking to MYNBUS (never before used schtuff) as this is the first time I have used the new Spellbinders EF.

Happy Birthday for Tic Tac Toe

Hello friends.  Today I have a birthday card made using the Tic Tac Toe challenge board.

I used the bottom left corner to top right corner row for my card - red/pink, patterned paper, die cut..

The Crumb Cake piece was cut with Altenew Burlap Texture Die and mounted on a SU Stitched Rectangle white die cut.  I stamped the sentiment before mounting the die cut.  The leaves are die cut with a retired SU die.  The flowers from SU Floral Essence (retired) are stamped with SU Sweet Sorbet ink and fussy cut, then mounted with foam tape and the leaves glued under the flowers.  The pretty checked pattern paper is from SU Gingham Cottage in Sweet Sorbet, then mounted to a black mat.  The whole panel was then adhered to a white card base.

I will also link to Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies as I used several dies on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today.

I die cut the black background panel with Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments and adhered it to my card base.  The white flowers are cut with my new Spellbinders Cinch and Go Blossoms die set. I sponged some So Saffron ink in the middle and layered the blooms.  The yellow centers are cut from a scrap piece of yellow I had on my work table. I also added small yellow gems to the centers.  The leaves are cut from Memory Box Exquisite Leaf Set and I snipped them to make them fit under my flowers.  Happy Anniversary is a Creative Expressions die - I love the different fonts in this die.  I added 3 small pale yellow pearls under the sentiment.

Happy Birthday - No Stamping

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda has chosen No Stamping as our "Topping" option this time. Remember the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

I had this pale green panel already embossed with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and used it as the background for my flower and sentiment.   The layered sentiment is from Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script die.  The base layer is white and the top layer is cut from a new SU In-Color called Sweet Sorbet.  The PTI Into the Blooms: Dahlia is also cut from Sweet Sorbet.  There are 3 layers all glued together in the centers.  I added the black center from another flower set.  The leaves are from Memory Box Exquisite Leaf Set cut from a sage green in my stash.  I clipped one of the leaves off  to make it fit under the petals and glued them under the flower petals.  The flower and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.  I added this panel to a black mat to make it stand out better and also coordinate with the flower center.

I hope you will check out all the great cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday and join in our challenge.

I will link to Happy Little Stampers Birthday - Anything Goes

Anniversary Blessings

Hello Friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  This one will go to a dear couple at church.

I had the blue embossed panel already on my table and thought the yellow flowers would look great on it.  I used Spellbinders Be Bold Blossoms (love this die set) for all the flowers and foliage.  I used a smaller, darker yellow flower layered in the center of the large flower and added a sparkly gem to the centers.  The blue, yellow and green card is from my stash.  The white panel is die cut with an older die from SU Stitched Labels Framelits (retired).  I stamped the sentiment from Stampendous Brushed Sentiments and then mounted the panel with foam tape.  The yellow flowers are also mounted with foam tape and the foliage glued under the edges of the petals.  I really like the finished card and hope the couple will also.

I am linking to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and used the center column down - Die Cuts, Free, and Bright Colors.

Tribute to Lindsey

 Hello Crafters,

We are deeply saddened to share the news that we lost our treasured friend and teammate, Lindsey, last week, following her hard-fought battle with cancer. Lindsey was well-known for her amazing creativity, witty sense of humor, and immense capacity to support and encourage her design team members and challenge participants. The crafting community will miss her shining light.
Today The Seize the Birthday Team is playing along with their Sister Challenge-Color Hues where Lindsey was also a Design Team Member. This challenge was to be hosted by Lindsey, so the Design Team wants to honor and celebrate her beautiful, creative life by sharing "Lindsey Inspired" projects using her Blue and Purple combination, along with things she loved the most, as inspiration. We hope that you will join us as we pay tribute to our dear friend and teammate.

Here are a few of her favorite things:
humor, cats
gardening/flowers
love of reading
friendship
wine
tea
*If you are a regular at Color Hues and/or Seize the Birthday you might also know that Lindsey loved Clean and Simple cards too.
We would love for you to join us and you can find all the details along with inspiration from both of the Design Teams over at the Color Hues blog below.
Here is my card to pay tribute to Lindsey.  I used flowers on my card as that was one of Lindsey's favorites (and mime too).
I used Spcllbinders Be Bold Blooms for the flowers and foliage.  I sponged SU Balmy Blue ink in the centers of the large flowers and added a die cut Balmy Blue small flower to the centers, plus a white enamel dot to finigh them.  The leaves and stems were cut from SU Sahara Sand (neutral).  The small buds were cut from Balmy Blue and layered over a Highland Heather bud which shows through the small die cut circle in the bud.  The flowers were glued on the white panel, which is die cut with a Spellbinders Hemstitch Oval and then mounted on a Highland Heather mat.  The foliage were glued under the edges of the flower petals.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Thoughts.
I thought the sentiment was appropriate as we are all thinking of Lindsey.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you will join in this wonderful tribute to Lindsey.
