O Holy Night - Merry Monday

I used the Freshly Made Sketches #79 for this week's Merry Monday Tic Tac Toe challenge. I chose the center row, Die Cuts, Paper Piecing or Piercing and Angel.  I love this cute little angel from MFT Pure Innocence line.   She is stamped on X-Press It Blending CS and colored with Copics. I paper-pieced the angel's dress, halo and wings. I stamped the wings on vellum with Mememto  Black ink, cut them out leaving a tab to glue under the dress and bent them forward for added dimension.  I shaded the edges of her dress to give it some dimension.  I used SU Basic Black and Sahara Sand CS and SU and MME DSP; and Lacey Circles and Circles Nestabilities.  The angel image and circle panel are mounted on foam dimensional.  The ribbon is SU Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon and the border is SU Scallop Border punch. The "O Holy Night" is a stamp from Michael's dollar bin that I have had for quite some time, and thought it appropriate to use with the angel. The Sahara Sand panel is stamped with SU Sanded background stamp (retired).

The Paper Players & Color Throwdown

I combined these two challenges for my card.  I love the sketch from The Paper Players and love the color challenge at the Color Throwdown blog.  Don't they look yummy with the inspiration photo.
All supplies are from Stampin Up, except the MFT Med. Scallop border Die-namic.   I used Whisper White, Choc. Chip, and Primrose Petals CS and Choc. Chip & Raspberry Ripple ink.  I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners and butterflies from Papillion Potpourri in Raspberry ink, cut them out by hand and mounted the sentiment on Choc. Chip mat. The butterfiles were glued in the center only with Tombow Multipurpose Glue and the wings bent up for dimension.  I added 3 little pearls to the body of each butterfly.  The main image is from Just Believe and stamped in Choc. Chip ink. The panel is mounted with foam dimensionals.  I embossed the Primrose Petals panel with the Petals-a-Plenty EF. The striped Primrose Petals DSP is from the In-Color DSP pad.

Nana's Sweethearts

This is my layout for My Favorite Things Scrap Sketch #6.  The photo was taken at our church's Valentine's Dinner.  My hubby was sick so our 2 great-granddaughters went with me. They are my little sweethearts.

Here is this month's sketch:   Check it out on the MFT Blog (click on the link above).
The base of my layout is from the Basic Gray Origins collection.  The red & black CS and the houndstooth DSP is SU.  The text DSP and title letters are from the Echo Park Yours Truly collection.  I cut the large circles with my Cricut.  I stamped the arrows from MFT LLD Document It-Right This Way in SU Real Red ink and cut them out.  Both sentiments are from MFT LLD Document It-Captured Memories, stamped in Real Red ink.  I used MFT Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax and the button die from Blueprints 1 Die-namics, and the larger doily from Decorative Doily Duo Die-namics.  I added the bottom border with the MFT Layered Heart Border Die-namic

Seize The Birthday #11 (2nd post for today)

I am catching up on some challenges I like to participate in, so this is my second post today.

This is my card for Seize The Birthday #11 skech challenge (a feminine card).  My card base is SU Crumb Cake with a layer of Rich Razzleberry DSP.  The center panel is SU Rich Razzleberry CS which is embossed with the CB Judi's Garden EF.  I swiped my SU Whisper White ink pad across the embossed image to give it some definition.  The butterfly is from SU Flores suaves (retired) and is stamped in Whisper White craft ink on Vellum and embossed with white embossing powder.  I shaped the wings with my bone folder and glued just the body part of the butterfly so the wings stand up.  The border is punched with SU Scallop Trim border punch.  The sentiment is from SU Something To Celebrate and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax Die-namics. The sentiment is mounted with foam dimensionals and the end is curled back a little.

Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown

For my card, I combined this week's Freshly Made Sketches #78 and Color Throwdown #234.
I used SU Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Garden Green, Real Red and Whisper White CS.  I made the flower following Selma's tutortial here. My flower looks like a full rose instead of the carnation.  I didn't have the Cheery Lynn Flower dies so I used the SB Rose Creations dies.  It only has 5 leaves so I cut several flowers and cut the leaves apart and used them as Selma did.  I used the 3 middle sizes for my flower made from Real Red CS. I added a MS pearl to the center, and cut the leaves from Garden Green CS also using SB Rose Creations dies.  The Garden Green border is cut with SU Adorning Accents Edgelits. The center white panel is embossed with SU Lacey Brocade EF.  The sentiment is from SU Itty Bitty Banners. I cut it out by hand and matted it on Basic Black CS, aslo cut by hand.  I finished the card with some Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but I also added some scored lines to the top and bottom white CS.

SWEET SUNDAY--MERRY MONDAY

I made my card using the Sweet Sunday #180 sketch by Karen Giron, although I made an A2 card instead of square.  Also, the challenge for Merry Monday #54 to use a snowman on a Christmas card.

I used SU Whisper White and Basic Black CS. The red/white DSP is SU and the green  zig zag is from a DCWV Christmas mat stack.  I stamped the SU cute snowman image (retired) in Mememto Tuxedo Black and did the little bit of coloring with Promarkers.  I tore some CS to make the snowdrifts across the bottom of the image panel and after adhereing them, I curled the edges back with my fingers.  The image panel is mounted with foam dimensionals.  I punched a MS snowflake and added a rhinestone from Michaels.  The scallop border was punched with a SU border punch.

Merry Monday #53

This is my card for Merry Monday #53 sketch challenge.  I am having so much fun playing along with the challenges each week.  Just think, I will have at least 50 Christmas cards done before Christmas.  No last minute rushing this year. :)

For my card I used some white & red CS from The Paper Studio and the DSP is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas 6x6 pad.  The green is SU Garden Green and is punched with SU Scallop Border punch.  I punched the red snowflake with a MS punch and added a red rhinstone to the center and mounted it with foam dimensionals.  I know snowflakes are NOT red but I have seen them on other cards and it went with my card. I think it looks cute with the snowman image, which I have had forever and don't remember where I got it.  It is a digital image that I printed out and had never used.  I colored him with Promarkers and added clear glitter gel pen to the little starry snowflakes and used a silver metallic gel pen on the bells, but it doesn't show up in the photo.  The large white panel is embossed with a SU Snowburst EF.

Let's Celebrate Layout - MFT Scrap Challenge #5

I made this layout of my great-granddaughter's birthday using MFT Scrap Challenge 5.  Check it out.   Simply follow the sketch and upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers using keyword MFTScrap5.  There will be a random draw from all the participants who have uploaded their scrapbook pages to the Splitcoaststampers Gallery using this month’s keyword MFTScrap5. One winner will be chosen and will receive a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. If the winner used MFT stamps, they will receive $ 5 in bonus bucks, for a total of $20. You have until noon on Monday, March 18 to play along.

For my layout I used some DSP from my stash along with some my MME DSP.  I also used assorted sentiments from MFT stamps: LD Document It-Captured Memories, Cleraly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn, and the new Birthday Sentiments (this month,s Triple Scoop set-free with a $60 or more order); and the cute little PI-Something Special Just For You.   The circles were cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 & 2.  I also used MFT Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax die-namics.  The buttons are SU and I used DMC floss to thread them and also to hang the elements on.  I made my own pattern for the triangles and I used the SU Scalloped border punch for the trim across the top.

The Paper Players - Happy Birthday

I am playing along with the Paper Players challenge this week which is a theme challenge "In Stitches".  I made a birthday card for a friend and sewed around the two yellow panels.  The DSP is from MME Moments 6x6 pad.  The cardstock is SU Whisper White and Basic Gray.  I used Spellbinders Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangle for the sentiment panel.  The sentiment is from MFT Western Sentiments, which was the Triple Scoop free set in February, but is available for purchase at the release on Monday, March 11th at 10:00 PM.  I used MFT Leaf-Filled Flourish die cut from SU Certainly Celery for the leaves under the flower.  I cut sections and then placed them under the flower.  The flower is made with Spellbinders Rose Creations die and inked the edges of the petals and shaped each one to give it some texture and dimension.  The yellow organdy ribbon is from JoAnn's.

MFTWSC113 Birthday Wishes

Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things challenge.  I just love the Pure Innocence stamps from MFT.  I used the PI-Cute As A Button but cut the button off and used some ballons from MFT alaMode Big Birthday Wishes.  The sentiment is also from that set. I colored each word separtely with a marker and stamped them separtely on the tag made with the smallest die from MFT Rounded Banner Stax die-namics cut out of DSP.  All the DSP is from We Are Memory Keepers Anthologie 6x6 pad.  I used SU Whisper White and Chocolate Chip CS.  The image is stamped on Whispher White, colored with Copics and Promarkers and cut out and adhered to the DSP circle.  I paper-pieced her top.  I used Nestabilities Circles and Scalloped Circles and mounted them with foam tape.  One of the ballons is mounted on foam tape also.  I drew the lines for the balloon strings with a Zig Writer.  I tied some Jute twine through through the tag and mounted it with foam tape also.

Seize The Birthday #8 - Nature Silhouettes

Here's my card for this week's Seize The Birthday #8 to make a masculine BD card using the sketch.

My card is 4-1/2 x 6" and the base is SU Whisper White.  Next is a mat of SU Marina Mist and DSP from SU Letter to Santa (retired). As you can see it has papers that can be used for more than Christmas.  I stamped the tree/grass from SU Nature Silhouettes in SU Early Espresso ink and then stamped the deer.  The image panel is cut with the Top Note Die from SU, trimmed along the perforation and then matted on a Marina Mist Top Note.  The Happy Birthday is from SU Tagtastic.  I inked the sentiment with an Early Espresso marker and huffed on it before stamping it.  The stamp is actually a tag with a bear on a bicycle, but I just wanted the sentiment.   The corner cut is from an older Provo Craft die.

Merry Monday #51 - Joy

This is my Christmas card for the Merry Monday #51 challenge which is a Tic Tac Toe.  I chose the top row of Red, Dry Embossing & Ribbon.

I used CS from The Paper Studio and embossed the large white panel with a Sizzix EF.  The stamped image is from SU The Sounding of Joy.  I stamped the star shaped image in Mememto London Fog and overstamped the Joy in SU Real Red.  I added a Real Red grossgrain ribbon across the bottom and that is it.  A clean and simple Christmas card and another one added to my stash.
