Happy Birthday You Little Rascal

Hello friends.  I have a fun birthday card to share today.  I made it for a little one at church who is turning 2.  I just had to get this MFT Little Rascal set when I saw it as I knew I would be making cards for the little ones at church and I don't have any little grandchildren as they are all growing up so fast.

I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and cut them out with the matching dies.  I die cut a stitched rectangle die and blended Speckled Egg DOI for the sky using MFT Cloud Stencil,  I blended Bundled Sage DOI for the grass area and then mounted the two standing images with foam tape.  I glued the log and sitting raccoon  flat.  I also stamped a balloon from another set on the panel and then on yellow card and cut it out to glue over the stamped image.  I also added the #2 sticker on the balloon.  I mounted the rectangle panel with foam tape on a piece of pattern paper from my stash, then glued it on the white card base.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as they are featuring MFT products.

Seize the Birthday - Use a Number

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Cathy has chosen the "Topping" option to Use a Number.  Remember if you are not into the "topping" option, it is always "anything goes" as long as it is for a birthday.

I made this card for my Great-Granddaughter who will be 20 soon and her favorite color is pink.  The flower, buds and leaves are cut with Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and Club Blooms dies.  I used Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo, Powder Pink (ret) and Pretty in Pink (ret) cardstock.  The sentiment is cut in Flirty Flamingo using Poppy Stamps Vintage Happy Birthday die.  20 is cut using a retired SU set.  The white panel is embossed with SU Absolutely Argyle EF (also retired).  I added a clear rhinestone to the center of the flower and mounted it with foam tape, then glued the leaves and buds under the petals.

and also Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with dies (I used a lot of dies on this one).

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Make My Monday - On the Water

Hello friends.  We are starting a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is On the Water chosen by Dawn.

I used this loon image from a retired SU set Moon Lake.  I love the images in this set and couldn't part with it.  It is great for masculine cards.  I colored the image with SU Blends and blended Pool Party ink for the sky section.  I die cut the image with a stitched oval die and mounted it on a Lost Lagoon oval die cut.  The pattern paper is also old and matched the Lost Lagoon perfectly.   I cut a 1-1/4" slit in the center of the panel and folded it from the corner to the fold (I think it is called a collar fold).  I saw several cards with this fold on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.  I mounted this on a white panel and stamped the sentiment from SU Artistically Inked set.  I added a 3/8" strip of the pattern paper before mounting the image with foam tape.  This is all mounted to a Lost Lagoon card base.  I am pleased with the final result.

Be sure the check out all the great cards by the team over at Make My Monday.  I hope you will join in our fun challenge.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share.  I made this one using the colors at the Color Hues Challenge - Green & Yellow.  Of course I thought of flowers right away.

I wanted to use my new SU Sketched Plaid stamp so I stamped a white panel in Granny Apple Green and matted it with Pear Pizzazz (which seemed to match perfectly).  I punched two large daisies and two medium daisies with SU punches (retired) from some lt. yellow I had on my work table.  I shaped the petals with my stylus before gluing all the layers together and then added a glitter gem to the center.  The leaves are cut with a Spellbinder's die and the sprigs from SU Cheerful Daisies, and then glued under the edges of the daisy petals.  The sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts was stamped on a stitched oval die cut and mounted on a scallop oval die cut.  I mounted the sentiment and the daisy with foam tape.

Brightest Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a pretty birthday card in yellow to share.  When I saw the challenges at Tic Tac Toe and also at Dobule D which both have yellow in them, I had to make a card.

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Top 3 at Double D Challenge.

Top 3 Badge

I had the background die cut (Spellbinders Candy Stripes die) in my unused stack and thought it would look good over the lt. yellow card.   It is cut twice and the bottom layer is reversed and glued together  for the crossed look.  I mounted this to a white card base.  The flowers from Honey Bee Spring Peony were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends.  I die cut them with the matching dies and arranged the flowers at the bottom right corner of my card with foam tape.  I glued the leaves under the edges of the large flower.  The sentiment is from SU Cheerful Daisies as I thought it went well with the cheerful yellows.  This will go to a very good friend whose favorite color is yellow.

Sezie the Birthday - Sentiment on a Banner

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara wants us to put our sentiment on a banner. Thanks Barbara for a fun "Topping" option.

I had this lovely floral image and die by Technique Tuesday, Meadow Flowers, on my table and wanted to use them so I stamped them on a Stitched So Sweetly stitched scallop die cut and colored them with SU Highland Heather and Old Olive Blends.  The sentiment from Lawn Fawn Wavy Sayingts was stamped on the matching Simply Wavy Banners die cut and mounted with foam tape over the flower stems.  For the background panel I embossed it with SU Dainty Diamonds (ret.) and mounted a strip of Highland Heather pattern paper across the middle.  I glued this to the card base and them mounted the flower panel with foam tape and my card was done.

Be sure to check out what the design team and our guest designers have created for this fun challenge.  I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Happy Birthday for Color Throwdown

Hello friends.  This is my second post today, scroll down for Make My Monday card.  I wanted to get a card done for the Color Throwdown Challenge colors of yellow, green & white.  Of course I thought of flowers for these colors.

I used an old Cheery Lynn die called Daisy Strip for the pretty flowers which I cut from SU So Saffron.  I shaped the layers with my stylus before gluing them together and added a white enamel dot to the centers.  The leaves are cut with a die from my friend - no name on it, but I like it.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Thoughts (retired), stamped on a stitched oval die cut and matted with a scalloped green mat.  I mounted the sentiment with foam tape on a white panel embossed with SU 3D Cross Hatch EF (an on-line exclusive set of 3 different 3D EF).  I glued the flowers in the centers and glued the leaves under the edges of the petals.

Make My Monday - Summer Theme

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and I am the host this time.  I have chosen Summer Theme for our cards.  I hope you have fun with this challenge.

I thought going to the beach was a fun summer activity so I used 4 different stamp sets to create my beach scene,  MFT PI Beach Day for the girl and sandcastle; MFT Penguins in Paradise for the palm tree; SU Paradise Palms (ret.) for the sun and sentiment, and the wave image from On the Horizon (ret.) stamped over the ink blended water section.  I also blended Crumb Cake ink for the sand area and a lt. blue for the sky and a med. blue for the water area.  I colored the girl and palm tree with SU Blends and Copic markers.  I glued the palm tree on and mounted the girl with foam tape after fussy cutting them out.

I hope you check out all the great cards by the designers over at Make My Monday and join in our fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues

Hello friends.  When I saw the new Color Hues Challenge with the colors of Aqua & Red I had to make a card right away.

I had to decide if I wanted to use die cut red flowers or stamped flowers so I used SU Two-Tone Floral and stamped my 3 flowers.  The two lighter ones were stamped only in Real Red, stamping off once for the lighter base shade and full strength for the detail image.  I used Cherry Cobbler ink for the detail of the darker flower and Real Red full strength for the base layer.  I stamped the leaves from the same set in Tempting Turquoise and colored the leaves in with  SU Lt. Tahitian Tide Blend.  The sentiment from SU Peaceful Moments (ret.) was stamped in Temping Turquoise and die cut with a stitched oval die and matted with a Tempting Turquoise scalloped oval mat.  The white panel is embossed with my new Altenew Basic Plaid 3D EF and I love the look.  I mounted the embossed panel to the card base and then mounted the sentiment and darker flower with foam tape.  I glued the two lighter flowers down and glued the leaves under the edges of all the flowers.  I really like this color combo and am glad I was able to make a card using it.

All the ladies at the Color Hues Challenge have done a great job with this color combo, be sure to check them out.  I know you will be inspired.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is the first time I have used this new EF.
