Mr. & Mrs. Wedding card

Hello friends.  I am sharing a wedding card that I made for my granddaughter who is getting married this weekend.

I got the idea from this card I saw on Pinterest.  Instead of stamping flowers, I copied the flowers from their wedding invitation serveral times and resized them to die cut the retried letter diess by SU. I also cut a plain letter to stack them for a little dimension.  I cut a strip of SU Misty Moonlight to match the flowers and embossed it with an older Darice embossing folder.  I matted the embossed panel to a black mat and added ribbon and bow from narrow white & silver trimmed ribbon.  I mounted the panel to a slimline card base - 8-1/2" by 8" and scored at 4", which fits a standard #10 size envelope.

I am pleased with the end result and I think she will like it also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Blessings

Hello friends.  I am sharing a Christmas card I made using the technique at the Group of Seven Cardmakers.    You have to do stenciling over a heat embossing.

Group of Seven Cardmakers

I used a Stampabilities Music background stamp (from Hobby Lobby) which I have had for several years and this is the first time I have used it.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Gold embossing powder.  I was inspired by Bonnie's beautiful poinsettia card using this technique so I used the Tim Holtz Poinsettia Layering stencil for my stenciling along with Lumberjack Plaid and Pine Needles DOI.  I messed up the top poinsettia when buffing it with a paper towel, so I cut it down using a Spellbinders' Fluted Classics Rectangles die.  I placed it back in the die to cut it shorter and then matted it with SU Shaded Spruce cardstock.  I glued this to a white panel embossed with Spellbinders' Scenic Poinsettia EF.  The sentiment is from SU Wrapped in Christmas, also matted with Shaded Spruce, and then mounted with foam tape.

The below photo shows the gold embossing better.

I enjoyed this technique and am looking thru my background stamps to try it again.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Have the Best Birthday

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card for a little girl at church.  She is best friends with the girl I made the cute bunny card for and their birthdays are two days apart.

I had this cute image already stamped and decided to color her and use her as she reminds me of the girl who will receive the card.  She has long blonde hair and loves being outside.  She is from an older MFT stamp set which must be discontinued as I can't find her on the MFT site.  After coloring her, I fussy cut her out and mounted her with foam tape to a stitched rectangle die cut after sponging clouds (Taylored Expressions Cloud die) using SU Baja Breeze ink (ret.) and a little green for the grass area. I drew the little grass sprigs with an Old Olive marker.  The sentiment  is from an older SU set.  I added the sun die cut as it looked like a bright sunny day (Florida style).  I added a #6 sticker to the sun.  I matted this panel with a blue mat and then to a white panel embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.) and finally to the white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Sky

Hello friends.  Happy Thursday - it is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Vicki wants us to Add a Sky. With that in mind, I made this cute card for a little girl at church.

For my sky I die cut a SU Scalloped Contours Die from white and then sponged some DOI Speckled Egg over it using a Taylored Espressions Cloud Die.  This is the first time I have used that cute bunny image from Penny Black called Flying By. I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Blends Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green.  I also used a lt. gray Copic marker around the edges of the bunny image.  I then fussy cut the bunny and mounted him with foam tape to the sky panel.  The sentiment in the top right corner is from the same stamp set but I masked off the word "Hi" and than stamped a second sentiment (SU) on a scrap piece and added it to the bottom left corner.  I added this panel to a Powder Pink panel embossed with SU Subtle EF (ret.) and then to a white card base.

I will also link this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is the first time I used that cute bunny.

Happy Birthday in Kraft & Yellow

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made using the colors at the current Color Hues Challenge of Kraft & Yellow.

I die cut the flowers from a lt. yellow (Recollections) using an older MFT Sunflower die set.  I cut 6 layers of the smaller flower in the set and layered 2 each for my sunflowers.  I shaped them with my stylus to give a little dimension.  The centers are cut from SU Crumb Cake (kraft), as are the leaves, which are from a Spellbinders die set.  I added the veins to the leaves with a dk. brown marker and also shaped them with my fingers before gluing under the flowers.  The white background is embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF (retired).  The sentiment panel and mat are cut with SU Countryside Corners dies.  I trimmed the kraft mat down a little before adding to the card with foam tape.  The sunflowers are also mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Thoughts (retired).

Just Us Girls Color Challenge

Hello friends.  I finished my card for the JUGS 700th Challenge - a color challenge just in time.

I love the colors for this special 700th challenge and had to play along, and of course I had to use flowers.  The orange flower and buds are cut with Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms dies from some Recollections card.  I die cut the leaves and stem from SU Sahara Sand card.  I die cut the Balmy Blue pattern paper and the white panel with SU Radiating Stitches dies.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set and I love the mixture of fonts in it and use it quite often.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Hot Pink & Lime

Hello friends.  Happy Thursday, it is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Shirley has chosen the colors of Hot Pink & Lime for our "Topping" option this time.

For the hot pink flowers I used SU Medium Daisy Punch (ret.) and punched 6 daisies, layering 2 for each flower.  I shaped the petals with my fingers before gluing them together.  I then added a white enamel dot to the center of each flower.  I die cut the leaves from white with a die from Spellbinders Club Blooms and inked them with SU Parakeet Party ink. The sentiment is from SU Artistically Inked stamp set.  I flagged the left end and then blended a little of the green ink around the edges to help it stand out from the white background. I mounted the sentiment with foam tape to a background die cut with The Greetery's Herringbone Parquet Die.  I just received this die and was anxious to use it.  It has a woodgrain texture to the slats and I love the way it looks.

I will also link to NBUS as this is the first time I have used my new die.

Be sure to check out the teams cards using this color combination.
