Seize the Birthday - Furry Friends

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Cathy has chosen Furry Friends as our "Toppings" option.  Remember, if your not in to the "Toppings" option, you can just go with our "Anything Goes Birthday."

.

I have used a sentiment and images from MFT  Pawty Time.  This set has cute doggies and kitties.  I used the balloon from another image in the set and added it to the pup's hand.  I colored the images with Promarkers and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I used blues and yellows and this card will go to a young boy at church and I think he will like it.  I drew a line to separate the walk and wall and then sponged lt. blue ink on the top portion and embossed it with the Brick & Motar EF by SU.  I added the images and sentiment with foam tape and added the panel to a thin black mat and then to they card base.

Be sure to check out all the great "Furry Friends" cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday. I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will also link to Time Out Challenge - Pets.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today based on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was looking through my unused pieces and found this panel which I used a mask and sponged the yellow in the center of the panel and then embossed a stripe stamp over it with white embossing powder.  I thought his worked well with the sketch.  The butterflies are stamped and die cut with an old Sizzix/Hero Arts set, and colored with Copics.  I glued them just in the centers and raised the wings slightly.  I stamped "happy" from SU Pretty Perennials, fussy cut around it, and then mounted it with foam tape.  Birthday is from SU Well Said set and mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Rainbow

Hello Friends.  I always like making Christmas cards and try to join in the challenges. When I saw CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Rainbow theme, it took a lot of thinking on my part.  I tried several different ideas and finally settled on this one.

I used my new Window Sphere Die by Altenew (I love this new die), which I used on a previous card and die cut the opening in my white panel.  I stamped the greeting from SU Poinsettia Petals in Rustic Wilderness DOI, and then embossed the panel with SU Subtle EF to give it dimension.   I used watercolor paper and DOI, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Rustic Wilderness, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves to make my rainbow background and mounted it under the die cut panel, and then to the card base.  I die cut 2 each of  the medium & small poinsettias from SU Poinsettia Petals, sprayed them with shimmer spray made with alcohol and SU Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, layered them together and glued it to the die cut panel.  I wasn't sure about the leaves but added two Pear Pizzazz die cut leaves and they looked fine.  I added a gold faced gem to the center of the poinsettia.  I was really pleased with my final card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Anniverary Card

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share that I made for some friends at church.

I saw this card by Cindy I knew it would make a lovely anniversary card.  I used different colors, sentiment, and a different embossing folder. I used the Tufted EF and a larger heart in the middle of the woven heart.  I also used 3/8" strips instead of 1/2' like Cindy used.  I was pleased with the final card and I hope the recipients will like it too.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates and is stamped on a Stitched Rectangle die cut..

Other supplies are SU Lots of Hearts dies and Bermuda Bay Cardstock.

I will link to Happy Little Stampers - Anything  Goes With Dies as I used several dies for this card.

Spring Flowers for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time for our "Toppings" option TaeEun would like us to use Spring Flowers on our cards.   Remember it is an option and if you prefer, you can just make it for a birthday.

For my card I have used Technique Tuesday Royal Jasmine Stamp and die set, and my new Window Sphere Die by Altenew (I love this new die). The sphere die just cuts an opening with slits in the panel and I put a lt. pink panel behind it.  I then embossed it with SU Subtle EF to give it a little texture.

The pretty flowers are colored with Pink Pirouette and Flirty Flamingo Blends and the stem & leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends.  I mounted them on the panel with foam tape.  I then stamped the sentiment from SU Art Gallery set.  I punched the flag ends and then glued it on leaving the end loose. This panel was mounted to my card base and my card was done.  I really like how it turned out.

Be sure to check out all the lovely spring flower cards by the team and our guest designer Lynda over at Seize the Birthday.

I will also link my card to Addicted to CAS Challenge - Flower

and to The Flower Challenge -Pretty Pastels

Happy Birthday for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I had stamped and die cut several of these Technique Tuesday Royal Jasmine flowers and I laid the yellow one on some of the ombre paper from the recent SU Sale-a-Bration that I was using for another card and it looked so pretty against the Bermuda Bay Ombre paper that I decided to use it for a card.

I remembered seeing this sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and went to work.

I cut a panel of the Bermuda Bay ombre paper and then cut a 1/2" strip from the darkest shade at top.  I embossed the top half with SU Tasteful Texture EF to give it distinction from the bottom half, and then added the strip across the middle as in the sketch.  The sentiment is from SU Good Morning Magnolia and is die cut with a circle die and mounted on a black scallop circle.  I added this with foam tape and them mounted the whole panel on a thin black mat.  I added the flower with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Pink Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a very good friend that I am sharing today.  I love how the card turned out and I know she will too.

For the flowers and leaves I used Altenew Fabulous Florets stamps & dies.  It is a layered stamp set so I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo.  I stamped the Blushing Bride off once for the base of the lighter flower and full strength on the darker flower.  I colored the leaves with alcohol markers.  The scallop mat is cut with Sunny Studio Lattice Frame (outside die only).  I then embossed it with SU Tufted EF after I stamped the sentiment from SU Happy Thoughts.  I matted it with a layer of Flirty Flamingo and then added it to the card base.  The flowers are mounted with foam tape and the leaves are just glued under the edges.  I added some older SU Candi Dots in pink.

I will link to the Color Hues Challenge - Pink and Green  (although I did add a little yellow for the flower centers.)

Anniversary Card for The Paper Players

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card for some good friends to share today.

I used this pretty flower from Altenew Nature Blossoms and stamped it in SU Bashful Blue and Marina Mist inks (both retired).  I colored the flower center and leaves with markers and then mounted them with foam tape on a Lattice Frame die cut  by Sunny Studio. This was mounted over a Bashful Blue panel and then to a Marina Mist card base.  The sentiment is from SU Many Mates, die cut with SU Layered Ovals dies and mounted with foam tape.  I added some clear rhinestones for a little bling.  I punched the corners of the white inside layer with a decorative corner punch to fancy it up a little.

The challenge over at the Paper Players is Springtime Flowers so I am linking my card up there.

I will also link to The Flower Challenge - Pretty Pastels since I used pastel blues.

Seize the Birthday - Squares

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time I am the host and have chosen squares as our "Toppings" option.  You can make a square card or use squares on your card, or if you prefer, you can just make a regular birthday card, your choice.

I die cut 4 small MFT Stitched Squares from white and matted them with black. I stamped these cute cupcakes from MFT All The Cupcakes and colored them with alcohol markers.
I did stamp an extra cherry, fussy cut it, and placed it on top of the green icing cupcake.  I then fussy cut them and mounted with foam tape on the white squares.  I glued all the squares to a piece of pattern paper from my stash and then stamped the sentiment from a retired stamp set. This panel was matted with a thin black mat and then adhered to the white card base.

Now check out all the great cards by our party guest and the team over at Seize the Birthday and join in our fun challenge.

Thanks  so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.
