VLVOct2012 Week 4 Christmas Greetings

My card for week 4 Viva La Verve October sketches. Card base & mats are SU Crumb Cake (kraft), DSP is SU Be Of Good Cheer. I have been wanting to make one of the dimensional elements that are all over blogland so i used the Christmas tree from Verve's Winter Fun die set, cut it 5 times, creased the center, folded in half and glued them together. I inked the edges with SU Gumball Green ink and adhered to the card. I think it turned out pretty good being my first time doing this. It wasn't exactly symetrical, but it worked. The sentiment is from Verve's Bright Spirits. I masked each word and stamped them separately on the banners cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax dies & layers. I added a star to the top with a punch and glittered it with a Sakura Stardust Clear glitter pen.

Thanks for stopping by.  Comments are greatly appreciated.

Here is my card for week 1 of the Viva La Verve October sketches.  I wasn't sure about this sketch to start with, but love the way it turned out.  The base is SU Very Vanilla and the mats are SU Choc. Chip.  The DSP is from MME Lost & Found Two Rosy 6x6 pad.  The circle has a lightly printed text on it and I embossed it with SU Fancy Fan embossing folder. It is mounted on a Nestabillities Lacey Circle die cut.  The sentiment is from Verve's Wishful Elegance and the flower is from Verve's Brighter Days. I stamped the smallest and medium flower on SU Riding Hood Red CS and cut them out by hand, mounted each layer on foam dimensionals with a brad in the center.  The leaves are made using SU's Bird punch.

VLVOct2012 Week 5 Merry Christmas

Here is my card for week 5 of Viva La Verve October sketch challenges.  I have 2 more to go.
I opted to make another Christmas card with this sketch. I am slowly building my stash up. My card base is kraft CS (SU Crumb Cake). The designer paper is from KaiserCraft Dec. 25th pad and is matted with SU Always Artichoke CS.  The poinsettia is from Verve's Poinsettia Christmas, and I used a flower from Verve's Fancy Florals Remixed for the leaves.  I thought it kind of resembled a poinsettia leaf.  The flower is mounted on foam tape and then the leaf & flower are mounted on foam tape also. The sentiment is from Verve's Bright Spirits.  I used my hole punch to punch 3 small cirles from the same paper as the poinsettia and glued them to the top right corner to give it some balance.  The button is from my stash and is tied with SU Natural Linen Thread.

MFTWSC95 - JOY

Here's my card for this week's MFT sketch challenge.   I thought about doing a poinsettia for the bottom right element, but settled on an ornament from MFT's Christmas Ornaments stamp & die set. The "Joy" is from the Seasonal Sentiments, Triple Scoop Free Set this month. I love it.  I inked the edge of the ornament with Cherry Cobler ink to give it some dimension. The little ornament top is cut from SU Daffodil Delight. I tied a SU Cherry Cobler Bakers Twine bow on top and mounted it on foam tape also. All the papers are SU:  Be of Good Cheer DSP, Cherry Cobler, Gumball Green, and Whisper White CS.  The image is MFT Sending You A Little Christmas. I colored her with Copics and paper-pieced her hat & coat. I added some Clear Rock Candy Distress stickles to her hat cuff & boot cuffs.  She is mounted with foam tape onto a WW panel embossed with a Sizzix EF.  The border on the red stripe paper is MFT Faux Crochet Border die.
The finished card is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2.

I then tied a Cherry Cobler Baker's Twine bow and adhered it with a mini glue dot.

This is my card for this week's My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge.  This card will be going to a friend who has cancer and was given only 3 months to live.  She has a wonderful spririt and I think she is pretty amazing.  I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her.
My card base is SU Blushing Bride. All the blue is SU Baja Breeze and the DSP is SU Twitterpated.
The sentiment is from MFT Complimentary Greetings.  The die-namics I used are Fancy Flourish, Layered Rose and Fishtail Flags Stax (can't wait for the Fishtail Flags Layers Stax- will be available tomorrow evening at the MFT Release Party on Splitcoast Stampers). The sentiment panel is embossed with SU Framed Tulip EF and is mounted with foam tape.  The pearls are Martha Stewart.  I inked the edges of the rose petals and shaped them on a mouse pad with an embosser tool.

My Cowboy

I bought this frame at Michael's and wanted to decorate it for my great-grandson's photo taken by his mother (our granddaughter). It will be a gift for her.

The papers are from MME and the "My Cowboy" and "boots" are stickers by My Mind's Eye.  I used the little cowboy stamp by My Favorite Things and colored him with Copics. I paper-pieced his outfit. He is such a cutie, I love using him.  I used an EK Success punch for the little border that separates the patterned papers.

MFTWSC92 - Happy Birthday

This is my card for this week's My FavoriteThings sketch challenge.
I used the sketch to make a birthday card for my son-in-law.  I have trouble making masculine cards as I like to use flowers, ribbon and frilly stuff on my cards.
I wanted to use MFT Just The Ticket set and created a pocket with the circle element in the sketch and mounted it on foam tape.  The photo at the left shows the tickets out of the pocket.
The card base, circle base and tickets are SU Sahara Sand CS. The DSP is from a new (to me, just got it today) 6x6 pad by Glitz called Vintage Blue.   I used MFT Circle Stax 2 dies and Retro Squares die.
I added the sentiment on the center ticket from MFT Birthday Balloon Jolinne. The rest of the images are from Just The Ticket set.
Thanks for stopping by.  Comments are greatly appreciated.

Supplies:
Stamps:  MFT Just The Ticket
Papers:  SU CS; Glitz DSP
