CASE a Designer for Just Us Girls

Hello friends.  I wanted to play along with Just Us Girls challenge - CASE a designer.

I browsed several designers' blogs and have several that I follow but I chose this card on Ina's blog.  I loved it when I first saw it and happened to have the SU Botanical Builder dies.

Ina's Card

My CASE

I used Distress Watercolor Cardstock and Kuretake watercolors for the yellow background and stamped some dots with a darker yellow ink.  The leaves are from a different color cardstock but placed the same as Ina's card.  I added the white die cut flowers and a gem to the center of the large flower and small yellow pearls to the small flowers.  I used a different sentiment which is from SU Peaceful Moments.  I added the panel to a Mossy Meadow card base.

Thanks for this fun challenge Ina.  I enjoyed copying your card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Tis the Season

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share today.  I made this one for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Santa.

ETA:  Wow, my card was chosen as the winner at CAS Christmas challenge.

I got out this old set by My Favorite Things called Christmas and stamped the Santa image and the sentiment from this set.   I colored the Santa with Copics and die cut him with a stitched oval die, then mounted him on a black scalloped oval die cut.  I stamped the sentiment on a white panel and embossed it with an older SU EF called Perfect Polka Dots (retired) as I thought it looked like falling snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Anniversary Blessings

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  This will go to a sweet couple at church.  I made it for The Flower Challenge - Clean & Simple.

I stamped two flowers and 6 leaves from SU Prized Peony set (retired) and die cut them with the matching dies; I also fussy cut some of the white edging away.  I colored the flowers with Copics and the leaves with SU Granny Apple Green Blends.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape on a white panel embossed with SU Subtle EF.  I glued the leaves under the edges of the flowers.  The sentiment is from a Sweet n' Sassy anniversary set.  I masked the words separately so I could layer them.  I then die cut it with an Ornate Frames die by SU (retired), and mounted it with foam tape also.

I will also link to the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies Challenge as I used several dies on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Purple, Blue and Green

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has chosen the colors, Purple, Blue and Green as our "Toppings" option.

I strayed from my usual floral card and made one with balloons. I  thought it was a good choice for the colors (although flowers would fit perfectly also).  I dug out this older set from MFT( Party Balloons)  and stamped the balloons in Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather inks, then die cut them with the matching die.  I also stamped the confetti in the same colors.  The balloon strings, stamped in black, and the confetti were stamped on the white panel and then I embossed it with SU Tasteful Textile EF.  I glued the balloons on flat.  The sentiment is cut with an Impression Obsession die set in Highland Heather and Blueberry Bushel.  I die cut 2 sets and layered them for more stability and glued them on the embossed panel.

Be sure to check out all the great cards using these colors by the Design Team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Happy Stamping.

Happy Birthday in Peach & Gray

Hello friends.  This is my card I made using the colors for the Color Hues challenge.

The flowers and leaves are from Altenew Perfectly Perfect.  I colored them with SU Pale Papaya and Smoky Slate Blends, die cut them with the matching dies, and mounted them with foam tape.  I used Altenew Sphere Stencil and Smoky Slate ink on the white panel.  The sphere is large so I die cut a smaller circle from white cardstock and placed it over the Sphere Stencil to get a smaller circle in the center of the panel.  I then embossed the panel with SU Tasteful Textile  EF and mounted it on a Smoky Slate panel cut with MFT Blueprints 27 die.  The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate, hand cut with a flagged end, and mounted with foam tape.

Memorable Birthday for The Paper Players

This is my second post today and I was finally able to get a card done with the colors at The Paper Players challenge just in the nick of time. I love the new Tahitian Tide blue color.

I had the flowers and leaves (unknown stamp set) already stamped and cut in my stash so I pulled them out and colored them with Tahitian Tide, but I had to use Granny Apple Green on the leaves as I didn't have the Blends in Parakeet Party.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the leaves and sprigs under the edges. I did use Parakeet Party for the bottom mat and Tahitian Tide mat cut with a die from the Scalloped Contours dies.  The white mat is cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I stamped the sentiment (Timeless Tropical - retired) and them embossed the panel with SU Tufted EF (retired).

I will also link to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies (I used 2 different dies)

New Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card made with Memory Box Layered Fresh Flowers.  I love all the detail on these die cut flowers and they are so easy to use.  This one is for my Pastor and his wife - her favorite color is purple.

The flowers are just glued in the center and the leaves, cut with a SU die, are glued under the edges of the flowers.  The pretty floral paper and solid paper are from a pack I got at Michael's.  The white panel is embossed with SU Tufted EF (retired).  I lightly moistened the paper with water before embossing and it really makes the design stand out better.  The sentiment is from a stamp I have had for several years.  I stamped it on a die cut and mounted it with foam tape.

I am linking to Dies R Us Challenge #197 - anything goes using dies they sell.

Happy Anniversary for my Daughter & SIL

Hello friends.  I am sharing the anniversary card I made for my daughter and son-in-law. Their anniversary is next week, but she doesn't look at my blog. :)  I used 3 elements from the Festive Friday Challenge FF113, Frame, Stripes and Black..

ETA:  My card was a Fave at Festive Friday.

FF#001 Festive Friday Faves

The frame is cut with an older SU frame set; the black and white striped paper is from my stash.  The flower is from SU Birthday Blooms (retired).  I love this set and have several of the flowers already stamped and cut out with my silhouette.  I colored the flowers & leaves with SU Bermuda Bay and Old Olive blends.  After die-cutting the frame, I embossed it with SU Subtle EF and mounted it with foam tape.  I glued the flower on the frame and added pieces of foam tape on the sections not on the frame.  I stamped the sentiment on the center cut out and glued it directly on the the base. For the final touch I added some opal gems colored with the Dark Bermuda Bay Blend to match the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a blessed day.

Seize the Birthday - Metallic

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and Cathy has chosen Metallic for our "Topping" option this time.  Of course, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

We are also welcoming a new Surprise Party Guest - Karren Johnson.  You can find her blog here.  Glad to have you joining us Karren.

For my card I cut Memory Box Happy Birthday Posh Script from metallic paper from a Tim Holtz pad. I backed it with a white die cut for more sturdiness.  I also cut the flower center from the same metallic paper.  The flower is from Memory Box Layered Fresh Flowers.  I cut two of the large flower from pink cardstock from my stash.  I love the detail in the die cut.  I shaped the petals and glued them in the center only and then to the lt. blue rectangle, which has been embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF (retired), and mounted with foam tape  The leaves were punched with a retired SU punch.  The pink pattern paper is from my stash, sorry I don't know who it is by.  I added some clear rhinestones for a final touch.

Be sure to check out all the amazing cards by the team and I hope to see you in our gallery at Seize the Birthday.

I will link to Dies R Us July Challenge - Anything Goes (with dies from Dies R Us)(Both of the Memory Box dies are from Dies R Us)
