Happy Christmas for Merry Monday #68

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday #68 sketch challenge.  I used SU Whisper White and Basic Black CS.  The DSP is from Recollections Festivites 6x6 pad.  It has a lot of cute papers in it and I used one that had this cute border with the snowman, penquin & igloo.  The only stamping is the sentiment from SU More Merry Messages.  I thought the Happy Christmas sentiment went with the fun border scene.  I punched 3 snowflakes with a Martha Stewart punch and added a silver brad in the middle.  The banners are made with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax. I also added 2 brads to the sentiment banner. A fun and quick card.

I am also entering this in Hazel's Christmas card challenge here:  http://www.craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/

Happy Anniversary for Freshly Made Sketches 91

Here is my card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches 91.  I used the sketch to make an anniversary card for a couple at church.  We have had 3 anniversaries and serveral birthdays this month and I try to make each one a card.  The are very appreciative and I enjoy making cards for them.
My card base is SU Crumb Cake CS and then a mat of SU Baha Breeze CS.  The dark DSP is from Studio Calico's Atlantic 6x6 pad and the SU Naturals CS is embossed with a Darice Argyle EF.  The flower is from Verve's One Person and I stamped it with SU Basic Gray on Baha Breeze DSP, cut out both layers, inked the edges with Baha Breeze ink and layered them with foam dimensionals.  The leaves are stamped on cream CS and sponged with SU Certainly Celery ink.  The Baha Breeze scalloped border is cut with an MFT die.  The sentiment flags are cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics.  The sentiment is from Stampendous Special Messages Set and stamped in Basic Gray ink on a piece of the embossed paper I trimmed down.

A Child Is Born

I made my card using Swiss Pixies "Baby Jesus and Angel" from All That Scraps.  This is the first time I have inked this sweet image up even though I have had it for quite awhile.  I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Promarkers.  I added Sakura Clear Glitter pen to her wings and halo.  It shows up better in the 2nd photo although the colors are off.   I cut the image out with MFT Circle Stax dies and inked the edges while still in the die.  The mats are SU Basic Black and the DSP is from Echo Park's Very Merry Chirstmas 6x6 pad.  The ribbon is from a Christmas spool from Michael's.

My card is for  Merry Monday #67 sketch challenge at Lesley's Always Playing With Paper blog.

Seize the Birthday 19 and Color Throwdown 246

Sorry for all the posts today but I am trying to get caught up with some challenges.  I am glad if I get one card posted on some days. This is my card for Seize The Birthday 19 and Color Throwdown 246.
ETA;  Yea, my card won the challenge at Seize the Birthday.

The color challeng had me stumped for a little while, but I tried several different DSP and flower colors and finally settled on these.

The card base is Pear Pizzazz CS. The DSP is from 3 different SU packs.  The white mat and sentiment panel is SU Whisper White.  I stamped the SU Happy Birthday sentiment in Old Olive ink and matted it on Old Olive CS.  I stamped the flowers from SU Secret Garden in Rich Razzleberry and cut them out.  The top flower and sentiment panel are mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are from Build A Bird punch and the fern punch is a MacGill punch, all punched from Old Olive CS.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

The card base is SU Whisper White, then a mat of SU Night of Navy CS and Night of Navy DSP.  The image from ODBD "The Waves of the Sea" is stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  I added some white highlights to the water and around the boat with a Signo White Gel pen.  I sponged clouds on with SU Bashful Blue ink and a scalloped circle punch.  The botton corner pieces are from an older Cuttlebug die and I used the negative pieces for the top corners.

Merry Monday #66 - Merry Christmas

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday #66 sketch challenge.  I barely got it finished in time.

The card base and sentiment panel are SU Crumb Cake and the mats are SU Basic Black.  The holly leaves are from Spellbinders Little Leaf Sets cut out of SU Garden Green.  The little berries are silver dots from JoAnn's that I colored with a Sharpie marker.  The sentiment is from SU Greetings of the Season.  I used MFT Fishtail Flags Stax to cut the banners from Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium DSP pad.  The holly leaf print is from the same pad.   I left the bottom of the banners unglued and curled them up slightly with my fingers.

I am also linking my card to this challenge: http://www.festivefriday.blogspot.com/2013/06/welcome-back-to-new-challenge-here-at.html  for a vintage style Christmas card.  I think these papers from Graphic 45 have a vintage style.

Monsters of the Deep - MFTSCRAP8

This is my layout for My Favorite Things Scrap 8 sketch.  You can check out the sketch and details on MFT's blog here.
This is the sketch
MFTSCRAP8

I took these photos of my granddaughters in the pool with their masks, flippers and snorkels on and thought about doing this layout with the title "Monsters of the Deep".  They are my sweet girls, not really monsters. :)
My layout base is SU Certainly Celery DSP.  The blue wavy paper is from DCWV Neon Chic Stack. I thought it looked a lot like water.   The pink DSP is some older paper from my stash.  The sun diecut and vellum bubble stickers are also from my stash.  I used 4 different MFT stamp sets:  Document It - Graph Paper Notes (Evidence); Document It - Right This Way (arrows and Check This Out); Journal It - Calendar Basics (Month & Year in black frame); Die-namics Jersey & Stamp Set (Of The Deep).  I also used several dies from the Blueprints 2 Die-namics. I cut 3 of the black frames and used the third one to add extra length to them.  I then backed them with the DSP and cut some of the cross pieces out and wrote their names in the sections.  The monsters part of the title was cut with my Cricut and I used MS Cherish border punch for the white border strip.

Happy Birthday Dynamic Duos #56

I made this card for a friend's birthday using Freshly Made Sketches 89 and this week's Dynamic Duo challenge.  I didn't get it finished in time for the FMS challenge but am linking up to the Dynamic Duo challege to use Soft Suede and Blushing Bride.

The card base is from a pack of cards and envelopes by The Paper Co.  I used SU Soft Suede CS and Beau Chateau DSP (retired).  I stamped the flower from SU Secret Garden in Soft Suede on some DSP and cut it out with the matching Framelit Dies.  I inked the flower with Blushing Bride ink and added a Very Vanilla brad. It is mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are cut from the same set of dies in Soft Suede.  The sentiment is from SU Memorable Moments, stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with MFT Fishtail Flags die-namics and the edges are inked with Soft Suede.  The small Soft Suede flags are also cut with the same MFT dies. MFTWSC127 and JUN13VSNM

For this week's MFT sketch challenge and also for Brenda's water challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.
I used MFT PI-Sprinkler Girl, MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2, and MFT Fishtail Flags Stax. The DSP is from MME Ruby and the button is from my stash. The mats are SU Certainly Celery and I used the Swiss Dots EF on the large green circle. I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics and cut her out. When I started to paper-piece her swimsuit, I decided to make it a yellow polka dot bikini, so I drew the lines and cut it out. The background is sponged with Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue inks and I stamped the sprinkler by itself after I sponged the background.

Merry Monday #60

Yea - My Card won Honourable Mention.

Here is my card for this week's Merry Monday #60 sketch challenge (this is actually Merry Monday #65).  The card base is SU Crumb Cake and the DSP is from DCWV Christmas Matstack.  The cute gingerbread house and trees were on the paper so I decided to use it.  I added the stamped border from MFT LJD-Stitched Stockings, stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and then stamped the hearts, buttons and stars separately, cut them out and glued them on.  The sentiment is from the same set, but I masked off "a very" and stamped the rest of the sentiment on a Crumb Cake banner cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die. It is mounted with foam tape.  That's it for my card.

MFTWSC126
This is my card for this week's MFT sketch challenge here.
I decided to make a Christmas card with the sketch.  I used X-Press It Blending Card to stamp the sweet PI Angel and colored her with Copics. I paper-pieced her dress with some MME DSP. The other DSP is from DCWV Christmas Matstack.  The frame and mats are SU Crumb Cake CS.  I used 4 different MFT stamp sets on this card:  PI-Angel, PI-Sending You A Little Christmas (All Hearts Come Home for Christmas); LJD-Stringed Stockings (Heart) and Christmas Ornaments Set (Merry Christmas).  The stitched heart is stamped in Real Red ink, I thought it was perfect to go with the sentiment.  The Looped Border was cut from Wild Wasabi CS and the white banner was cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die-namics.

Sweet Baby Boy

These are two baby boy cards I made for a friend who requested them.

Card 1:  I used last week's sketch from The Paper Players.  The image is from SU A Slice of Life (I just love that cute little onesie with the heart) and stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card.  I used my blender pens and Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Pretty In Pink inks to color the image.  The sentiment is from SU Itsy Bitty Banners stamped in Mememto Black ink on Bashful Blue CS and cut out by hand. It is mounted with foam tape.  The DSP is from SU Nursery Nest (retired).  The hearts are from SU Heart trio punch (retired).  I round the corners of each panel and mounted them on Bashful Blue CS.  I inked the edges of each panel with Bashful Blue ink.

Card 2:  I CASE'd my self for this card.  You can see the original .here.  I used the same image from A Slice of Life, stamped in Mememto ink on X-Press It Blending Card, colored with blender pen and Bashful Blue ink.  I cut it out with Spellbinder's Ovals and inked with BB ink while still in the die. It is matted with a SP Scalloped Oval cut from Bashful Blue CS and mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from MFT PI Cute As A Button stamp set and cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax. The center panel is SU Bashful Blue DSP and the other printed paper is some from my stash, which I thought matched the cute image.  The buttons are from my stash also and mounted with Glue Dots.
