Crafty Friends Are The Best Friends

MFTWSC134

I made another card with MFTWSC134 using some of my new My Favorite Things goodies:  Modern Moracco Die-namics, Pierced Circle Die-namics and PI-Crafty Friends stamp set.  I also used the Circle Stax 1 and Fishtail Flags Stax and Layers.  The card base and mats are SU River Rock CS, and Whisper White CS for the all the white layers.  I stamped this cute PI image in Mememto Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.  I paper-pieced her shirt and added some little squiggly lines on her card she is making to look like writing.  I cut her out with the Pierced Circle die, matted her with River Rock and mounted her on my card with foam tape.  I used some of the Ginger Blossoms DSP I had on my table from yesterday's card.  The buttons are from my stash.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped in Mememto ink and cut out with the Fishtail Flags Stax.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I really appreciate your comments.

Happy Birthday for Color Q, Freshly Made & Seize The Birthday

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 96 and the colors from the Color Q 199 challenge to make my card.  I am also entering it in the Seize The Birthday Anything Goes Challenge

I had to hunt through my papers to find some Groovy Guava from the Ginger Blossoms DSP. I chose this print as it reminds me of all the chicken wire and quatrefoil designs that are popular now. The Kraft strip is embossed with the SU Finial Press EF.  I hand cut the tag and stamped the SU Happy Birthday sentiment in Dusty Durango ink and sponged the edges with some Dusty Durango.  I punched a hole and added some retired SU ribbon and used the scissors blade to curl the ends.  The flower is from SU Flower Soft set and is stamped in Dusty Durango ink on white CS and sponged with DD ink.  I cut it out and shaped the petals with my bone folder, and added a button to the center.  The leaves are cut from Kiwi Kiss CS using the Little Leaves Sizzlet die.  That's it for my card.

Snowy Angel Christmas Card

I found this cute Snowy Angel (an old one from Close to My Heart) while I was going through my Christmas stamps and thought he would be fun to color and make a card with.  I stamped him in Mememto Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copics and Promarkers.  I added bling with a Sakura Clear Glaze Glitter Pen to his wings and the stars.  (it shows up a little better in the 2nd photo).  I used the Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval to cut out the image and SU Real Red CS mat, which is mounted with foam tape.  I added SU Bashful Blue ink to one side of the Cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed a piece of Whisper White CS, which is mounted to a SU Garden Green mat.  The card base is Whisper White.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

I Still Get Butterflies When I See You

ETA:  My card was an Honourable Mention at the Dynamic Duos challenge.

MFTWSC134
I made my card with MFTWSC134 sketch and the Dynamic Duos #62 color challenge, with the Dessert Option to add butterflies.  I will be adding this card to my box to go to Operation Write Home for the troops overseas to send home to their family and friends.

For my card base and mats, I used MFT Whip Cream and Black Licorice CS.  I stamped the butterfly from MFT LJD-Blissful Butterflies in Calypso Coral ink on Whip Cream CS and cut it out.  The sentiment from MFT You Make My Day is stamped with Mememto Black ink also on Whip Cream CS and cut out with MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2 Die-namics.  I sponged Calypso Coral ink around the edges while still in the die.  The flowers are made with MFT Upsy Daisy Die-namic in SU Calypso Coral textured CS and a Black Licorice CS center.  The center daisy is mounted with foam tape.  I glued just the center of the butterfly down, lifted his wings for dimension, and added a trail of Recollections Rhinestone flourish.  The DSP is from two different retired SU paper packs.

ETA: Thanks to Cheryl at A.R.T. Card Challenge for letting me know of their anything goes challenge this week.  I am linking my card in their challenge also.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

I also went over the scroll part with a Sakura Clear Glaze Glitter pen.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Thinking of You for The Paper Players

I made my card for a friend using the Paper Players Sketch 155.  I used MFT Whip Cream CS and SU Basic Black CS.  The DSP is from MME Remarkable 6x6 pad.  The sentiment panel is cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Layers Stax and the sentiment is from SU Curly Cute.  The image panel is cut using MFT Circle Stax and matted with Spellbinder's Lacey Circle.  The image is from SU Simply Sketched and I added color with blender pens and SU Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz inks.   The red is stronger than what I wanted but it will do.  I sponged around the edge with Bashful Blue ink.

Everybody Loves A Parade

MFTSCRAP9

This has been a very busy month for me with family and Vacation Bible School at church so I almost missed the deadline for my layout (which was today at noon).

Here is my scrapbook page for MFTSCRAP9.  I flipped the sketch sideways and used photos from our local 4th of July Parade and one of the grandkids watching the parade.  I used SU Whisper White and Brillant Blue CS.  The DSP is some older papers from my stash.  I used a lot of My Favortie Things die-namics:  By The Letters Uppercase (PARADE) ; Happy Birthday (happy - with a white shadow); LLD Accent It-Celebrate (Good Times - with a white shadow); Stars; and Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax.  "Everybody loves a" was done on the computer and the small blue star was made with a SU punch (retired).  I added faux stitching to the blue and red stars with a White Signo pen.

That's it for my layout.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

Birthday Wishes

Edit:  My card was a PPA Pick.

PPAPickBadge(1)
PPA163[1]

Sorry for the glare on the photo, but I had to take it inside as it is a rainy afternoon here in Central Florida.
I made my birthday card using Freshly Made Sketches 94 and the colors from the PPA Color Challenge. I am also entering my card in the Seize The Birthday Anything Goes challenge.  I embossed the Very Vanilla layer with the SU Finial Press EF (retired) and the sentiment is from SU Bring On The Cake.  I stamped the flowers from SU Flower Soft in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla CS, sponged some CC ink over them, cut them out and added more ink around the edges of the petals.  I shaped the leaves with my stylus and a mouse pad and then added pearls to the centers.  The leaves are punched in Midnight Muse with the Build a Bird punch.  I love this sketch and will be using it again.

Happy 22nd Anniversary (This is my second post today)

Today is our daughter and SIL's 22nd wedding anniversary and we will be having dinner with them this evening to celebrate so I made this card for them.
The DSP is MME and CS is MFT Whip Cream and Hot Fudge.  I used the MFT Upsy Daisy Die-namic to make the layered flower with DSP and added a pearl brad to the center. The leaves are from MFT Leaf-Filled Flourish (I cut the leaves off as I couldn't make the flourish work on the card).  The main image is from SU Apothecary Art and Memorable Moments for the sentiment and 22. All are stamped in SU Soft Suede Ink.  I colored the small floral image with Pool Party and Soft Suede markers.  Lastly, I added an Early Espresso ribbon and 3 pearls.

Merry Christmas (in July)

I made a Christmas card with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #188. I used MFT's PI-Angel and stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics and cut her out and mounted her with foam on MME Christmas Wish DSP.  I also paper-pieced her dress with some DSP from MME Vintage Christmas. The rest of the DSP is also from the same pad.  I used SU Sahara Sand for the mats and the card base is MFT Whip Cream.  I inked the edges of a couple of the DSP panels and also added some faux stitching to the image panel.  I added some Baker's Twine to the long vertical panel and used a SU Scallop Border punch for the edge.  The sentiment is from MFT LJD-Stitched Stockings.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Merry Monday Challenge  Anything Goes Christmas Card Challenge
Crazy Hazelnut's Christmas Card Challenge:  A Christmas Card Suitable for A Child
http://operationwritehome.org/our-daily-bread-designs-july-challenge-2/ Challenge is for stitching (faux or real) and I did the faux stitching on my image panel - hope this counts.

It's A Good Day to Have A Good Day - MFTWSC131

MFTWSC131
I made this card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch #131.  I used the new MFT Chalkboard Greetings stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with White embossing powder on SU Basic Black CS.  I also smeared a little white ink around the sentiment.  I made the frame with SU Sahara Sand CS, Sahara Sand ink and MFT LJD Western Backgrounds stamps.  I cut the strips, joined them at the corners and rounded the corners with a SU Corner Rounder punch. The flower is made with MFT Upsy Daisy Die-namic and SU Rose Red and Pink Pirouette CS. I added some glitter to the center (and of course it got on the petals also).  I add the leaves with MFT Medium Leafy Flourish and cut it apart.  The DSP is from MME Dolled Up 6x6 pad, matted with Basic Black CS and mounted to an MFT Sweet Tooth CS base.

Happy Birthday for FMS93 and CTD249

This is a birthday card for my son, whose birthday is Wednesday.  I used the colors from The Color Throwdown 249 and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 93.

The card base and sentiment panel are SU Whisper White. I embossed the Brilliant Blue panel with a Cuttlebug EF and also punched the 3 stars from BB. The striped paper is Poppy Parade DSP and I added a Bermuda Bay mat to the sentiment panel, which is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is an older stamp I got from JoAnn's, but there is no name on it.  I stamped in it Brilliant Blue ink.  I added brads from Recollections to the corners and also to the star centers. The scallop border punch is from SU.

That's it for my card.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

Mojo Monday 300 (again) and Paper Players 152

I created another card for the Mojo Monday 300 sketch using the Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge. I chose the top row, birds, blue, and birthday.  I made a birthday card for my husband's birthday which is soon, and he likes eagles so I used the eagle from Our Daily Bread's Designs On Eagles' Wings. I stamped him in Mememto Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copics, then cut him out.  He is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from Verve's Birthday To You Plain Jane (single) stamped in SU Night of Navy ink, and is matted with SU Night of Navy CS. The two small stars are also punched from the same CS and one is mounted with foam dimensionals.  The DSP is from Authentique's Pride 6x6 pad.  I embossed the SU Naturals Ivory panel with the SU Snowburst folder - it kinda  looks like stars.  The card base is SU Crumb Cake.

Happy 4th of July and a Card for SC443

Happy 237th Birthday America!
And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
Happy 4th of July to you all!
Happy 237th Birthday America!
And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the U.S.A

I borrowed the above photo and sentiment from Joan's Gardens blog HERE. I love that song and it expresses my sentiments exactly.

Here is my card for the current sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I flipped the sketch sideways so I could use this cute (new to me) stamp image from Inkyantics Heart Benton. I got it at StampFest in Orlando this past weekend for the purpose of sending cards to OWH for our service men & women to send home to their families. It will go in a box I am mailing out tomorrow.

I stamped Benton on X-Press It Blending CS and colored him with Copics.  The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in SU Choc. Chip ink on some ledger DSP from Echo Park's This & That. The other DSP is from MME Collectable-Unforgettable.  I matted all the papers with SU Choc. Chip CS and added them to a card base of Canvas Corp Heavy Weight White CS.  The image panel is mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Mojo Monday 300 with Dynamic Duos

This is Mojo Monday's 300th sketch and they are having a big celebration for this milestone occasion.  Drop by thier blog and check it out.  If you participate you could win a fabulous prize.  They have lots of sponsors helping them celebrate.
ETA:  I was Dynamic Darling at The Dynamic Duos challenge.
For my card I used the  Mojo Monday 300 sketch and the colors of the Dynamic Duos challenge #59 of Basic Gray & your choice of color - I chose Pink Pirouette, along with the neutral of white.  I love this sentiment from Verve's One Person so I stamped it in Basic Gray on some White Canvas Corp Heavy Weight CS and matted it with Basic Gray - all the mats are Basic Gray.  The sentiment panel is mounted with foam tape. The flower is also from One Person and is stamped in Basic Gray on some DSP and I inked the edges with Pink Piroutte ink, added a pearl center and mounted it with foam tape.  The leaves are stamped in Basic Gray on DSP and the edges are inked. The pink & gray DSP is from MME's Collectable-Unforgettable 6x6 pad.  The Pink Pirouette banner is embossed with Darice's Linked Circles EF.  The little Love banner is hand-cut and the sentiment is from Verve's Love Notes. I colored the heart with a pink marker.

Love You More Today for OWH Sketch #179

179
I made my card using OWH Sketch #179. Love all the layers and I like how they put the measurements for each layer.  Check their blog out.  This card is going in my box that I will be mailing to OWH this week.  They send cards to our service men and women around the world so they will have cards to send home to thier family and friends.  I think it is a great way to appreciate their service for our country.  My husband served in the US Army for 20 years, but they didn't have this kind of organization when he was in the service.

My card base is Canvas Corp. Heavy Weight White CS.  The mats are SU Choc. Chip CS.  The DSP is from MME's Honey Cake 6x6 pad.  The sentiment from Verve's Hundred Hearts is stamped on SU Shimmery White CS (which doesn't show up in the photo) with Choc. Chip ink.  I punched 2 small hearts to place in opposite corners.  I used a SU border punch for the little border piece at the end of the sentiment panel. I attached the sentiment panel with foam tape.  I added the 3 small brown brads on the love paper panel before putting my card together.

That's it for my card.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I really appreciate your comments.
