Monsters of the Deep - MFTSCRAP8

This is my layout for My Favorite Things Scrap 8 sketch.  You can check out the sketch and details on MFT's blog here.
This is the sketch
MFTSCRAP8

I took these photos of my granddaughters in the pool with their masks, flippers and snorkels on and thought about doing this layout with the title "Monsters of the Deep".  They are my sweet girls, not really monsters. :)
My layout base is SU Certainly Celery DSP.  The blue wavy paper is from DCWV Neon Chic Stack. I thought it looked a lot like water.   The pink DSP is some older paper from my stash.  The sun diecut and vellum bubble stickers are also from my stash.  I used 4 different MFT stamp sets:  Document It - Graph Paper Notes (Evidence); Document It - Right This Way (arrows and Check This Out); Journal It - Calendar Basics (Month & Year in black frame); Die-namics Jersey & Stamp Set (Of The Deep).  I also used several dies from the Blueprints 2 Die-namics. I cut 3 of the black frames and used the third one to add extra length to them.  I then backed them with the DSP and cut some of the cross pieces out and wrote their names in the sections.  The monsters part of the title was cut with my Cricut and I used MS Cherish border punch for the white border strip.

Let's Celebrate Layout - MFT Scrap Challenge #5

I made this layout of my great-granddaughter's birthday using MFT Scrap Challenge 5.  Check it out.   Simply follow the sketch and upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers using keyword MFTScrap5.  There will be a random draw from all the participants who have uploaded their scrapbook pages to the Splitcoaststampers Gallery using this month’s keyword MFTScrap5. One winner will be chosen and will receive a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. If the winner used MFT stamps, they will receive $ 5 in bonus bucks, for a total of $20. You have until noon on Monday, March 18 to play along.

For my layout I used some DSP from my stash along with some my MME DSP.  I also used assorted sentiments from MFT stamps: LD Document It-Captured Memories, Cleraly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn, and the new Birthday Sentiments (this month,s Triple Scoop set-free with a $60 or more order); and the cute little PI-Something Special Just For You.   The circles were cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 & 2.  I also used MFT Fishtail Flags Stax & Fishtail Flags Layers Stax die-namics.  The buttons are SU and I used DMC floss to thread them and also to hang the elements on.  I made my own pattern for the triangles and I used the SU Scalloped border punch for the trim across the top.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

Giddy up, Cowgirl - MFTSCRAP1

I am playing along in My Favorite Things first scrapbook layout challenge.  It has been awhile since I made a layout and was glad for the challenge.  That is my sweet great-granddaughter in the photos.  She loves to ride the horses (my daughter's) when she comes over.
I used a lot of MFT die-namics on my layout:  Sunflower; Medium Leafy Flourish; LJD-Howdy Frames (signs on side and at top); Dainty Bow (small bow - it matches the bows on her sweater); and Western Star Border Duo (I used the negative stars to add to the top portion of the layout). I used LJD-Howdy stamp set for the sentiments on the little flags and the stars on the top sign.  PI Cowgirl for the "Giddy up, Cowgirl" sentiment.  I added a MFT Kraft button with linen thread.  All papers and cardstock are Stampin Up, except the woodgrain paper is K&Co.

Thanks for stopping by.  Comments are greatly appreciated.

1st Grade layout

I finally did a new layout.  This is my great-granddaughter when she was in the 1st grade. She just started 3rd grade this year.  Her younger sister started kindergarten, so there will be more layouts to do.
I used all Basic Grey except for the pink stripe (K& Co.). Martha Stewart border punches.  I used my new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the the titles and scallop circle.  The bling is from Michael's.
