Seize the Birthday - Use Script or Text Background

Hello Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time our "Toppings" Option is to use script or text background, of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

For my card I dug out an old SU En Francis background stamp and stamped it in SU Early Espresso ink on DSP from an older Prima Cigar Box Secrets 6x6 pad.  The SU Beautiful Birthday (retired) is stamped on some of the same DSP.  I cut it with an MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Oval and trimmed around the edge to mat it on Early Espresso cut with the same die.  The large scallop mat is cut with MFT Blueprints 20 die.  I cut MFT Sunflowers from SU Crushed Curry, the centers from Early Espresso and the Royal Leaves from Wild Wasabi.  I mounted the sentiment panel and the flowers with foam tape.  The card base is Recollections 110# Cream CS from Michael's.

Now you should check our all the fabulous cards with script/text by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #258 - Add a Penguin

Hello friends.  It's Monday and time for a new challenge at Merry Monday.  This week Colleen is our host and has challenged us to add a penguin to our Christmas card.
I used this cute image from Art Impressions.  It is an older set and there is no name on the package.   I colored the image with Promarkers and cut it with a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rounded Rectangle.  I sponged lt. blue ink around the edges before removing it from the die, and then added Snow White Fun Flock on the bottom for the snow and also on the penguins hat cuffs and pompoms.  I also used my clear glitter gel pen on the berries and candy cane.  The sentiment is from SU Christmas Bliss.  The DSP is from Studio Calico Wonderland 6x6 pad..

Now hop over to Merry Monday and check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates.  I hope you will join us for the challenge.  Can't wait to see what you create.

I am going to link up with Darnell's NBUS Challenge #12 as this is the first time I have used this cute stamp even though I have had it for quite a while.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Darnell's NBUS Challenge #12

This is my card for Darnell's NBUS Challege #12

I created this card using Sweet 'n Sassy Poppies and Greetings set, my first time using it (NBUS)  I colored it with Promarkers and added a real old CTMH stamp, Hillside Grass along the bottom.  I die cut the image with Lil Inker Designs Stitched Rounded Rectangle.  I put it back in the die to cut a little off the top and then sponged lt. blue ink around the image. I also lightly sponged some lt. green ink over the stamped grass.  The DSP was a left over piece on my desk and I don't remember which pad it came from.  The mats are SU Regal Rose.  I didn't add a sentiment so it can be used for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for The Flower Challenge September challenge.
I chose the bottom row - white, die-cuts, blue.
The card base is SU Soft Sky and the SU Tranquil Tulips are stamped in Soft Sky and Baha Breeze (blue).  I fussy cut the stems and leaves and glued them down and then mounted the flowers with foam tape.  The white panel is cut with Lil' Inker Designs Pointelle Cover Up die.  The sentiment is from SU Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired), cut with an MFT Blueprints 2 die and mounted with foam tape.

I am also linking to the Addicted to CAS challenge - Florals

Merry Monday Challenge - Use a Tag

Hello Everyone and happy Monday.  It is time for a new challenge at Merry Monday and this time Sue has challenged us to add a decorated tag to our cards.

For my card I die cut the Stitched Main Street Tag by Poppy Stamps from MFT Primitive Cream CS and them embossed it with SU Brick Wall EF.  I fussy cut the green mat. The stocking is from Power Poppy Poinsettia stamp set, stamped on Strathmore Bristol CS and colored with Promarkers.  I fussy cut the image and added it to the tag with foam tape.  I went over the ribbon, candy canes and center of the flower with my clear glitter gel pen for a little bling (but it doesn't show up in the photo - it is very pretty IRL).  I also added a small gold brad to the stocking hanger to look like it was hanging on the brick wall.  I added the Christmas ribbon and tied with a thread bow.  The tag is mounted with foam tape also.  The DSP and green mats are from an older DCWV Christmas Scrapbook pad.  The sentiment is from the Poinsettia stamp set.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous tag creations by my team mates over at Merry Monday and play along with us this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Balloons

Hello Friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and the "Toppings" option this week is to use balloons on your birthday project.

For my card I used this cute bear from MFT's Beary Special Birthday and die cut it with MFT Pierced Oval die.  I also stamped the extra balloons, die cut them, and then cut a slit around the green balloon to add the extra balloons.  They are colored with Promarkers.  I added white accents with a gel pen, and also drew in the extra balloon strings as they were hid behind the main image. The black mat is fussy cut and the large black scallop mat is die cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 20.  The DSP is from Doodlebug Design Take Note 6x6 pad.    The sentiment is from the same stamp set cut with MFT Blueprints 2 die.  The image panel and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous creations by the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.

Merry Monday #256 - Favorite Holiday Movie

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you over at Merry Monday and Nina has challenged us to make a card based on our favorite holiday movie.  I couldn't decide between It's A Wonderful Life or White Christmas but finally went with White Christmas.
The sentiment is computer generated and die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags die.  I re-inserted it in the die and cut the other end.  My white card panel was brayered with SU Bashful Blue ink and stamped with a snowflake from Verve Jolly Jingles in SU Marina  Mist.  The Memory Box Evergreen Trio trees were die cut in SU Always Artichoke.  I used my white gel pen to add the snowy details.  I added the Memory Box Deer Trio on some snowy slopes die cut with MFT Snow Drifts dies.  The deer trio and the bottom snow drift are mounted with foam tape.  The card base is SU Bashful Blue CS.

I hope you will check out all the great "favorite holiday movie" cards by the designers over at Merry Monday and join in the fun with us.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Exciting News - Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #255

Happy Monday friends.  I have some exciting news to share with you - I am now on the Design Team over at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  This is my first post as a team member and I am so thrilled to be joining the team as I love making Christmas Cards.

Marcia is our hostess this week and her challenge is to use the word Joy on your Christmas Card.

For my card I used Stampabilities Joy to the World stamp I got at Hobby Lobby.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed with black embossing power, but you can't tell it in the photo.
I die cut it with MFT Stitched Ovals and matted it with a black MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Oval.  I then mounted this with foam tape.   I was trying to decide on which DSP I wanted to use and had it laying on the this patterned paper from an older Martha Stewart Christmas Mat Pad.  I thought this would be perfect, as Jesus was our greatest gift at Christmas, so I went with that.  I used MFT Blueprints 20 die for the scallop mat.

Now be sure to hop over to the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog to see all the fabulous creations by the Designers.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
