Happy Birthday for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I saw the inspiration photo at The Flower Challenge and had to make a card for it using my new Spellbinders Cosmos dies.

I die cut 3 sets of flowers from white card and ink blended Salty Ocean DOI over them, making it darker in the centers.  I shaped them with my stylus before gluing together.  I die cut 3 of the spikey centers from black for each flower, shaped them with my stylus and glued together.  I added a rhinestone to the centers.  I found this peach colored DSP in my stash (it looks lighter in the photo) and thought it would make a good background.  I glued it to the front of the white card base and then had to decide how I wanted to arrange the flowers.  I tried several ways before I decided to make a white square, embossed with SU Distressed Tile EF, turned in a diamond shape for the sentiment, and then arranged the flowers around the bottom.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Elegant Thoughts Stamp & Die set.  I stamped it in SU Pumpkin Pie, die cut it, and added 3 plain white die cuts for dimension, then glued it to the diamond shape.

I will also link to the Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterfiles.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  So glad you stopped by.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

For the background I used Altenew Diamond Frame Cover die cut in white and glued to the white card base.  I die cut SSS Divine Peony from Bristol Smooth 100# card and ink blended with DOI - Worn Lipstick for the flower & bud, and Bundled Sage & Rustic Wilderness for the leaves.  I cut an extra set of leaves, cut them apart and added them for more fullness.  I colored the center for the flower with an alcohol marker. The sentiment was already done and left over from another project so I thought it was a perfect finish for my card.

I am adding this to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge - A Bit O' Green

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the flower die.

Birthday Card for a Dear Friend

Hello friends.  I made a birthday card for a dear friend.  I was inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest.  I love the colors and the design and this is the card I made using different dies.

I used Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber DOI for the blended panel and then embossed it with Spellbinders Argyle Plaid EF.  I lightly sanded the raised areas so the the white would show.  For the flowers I used Simon Says Stamp Aurora Blooms Dies to die cut from white.  I blended the same DOI inks in the center of each flower and then layered them together.  The spiky center is from a Memory Box die set.  I shaped the flower petals and glued them to the panel and then to the card base. The leaves from the SSS set was die cut from a light green and glued under the petal edges.  The sentiment is from an older SU set die cut with a stitched rectangle die and then glued on.

I am linking my card to the Triple B Challenge

Alcohol Inks with Gilding Flakes

Hello friends. I have a couple of cards to share today.  I made these with the technique the Group of Seven Cardmakers are using this month.  I thought it would be fun to try it.

Group of Seven Cardmakers

I used Yuppo paper and 3 shades of Ranger Alochol Inks Monsoon, Pool, and Glacier). After squirting them on the Yuppo I blew them around with a straw (no puffer tool), adding a little Alcohol Blending Solution in a few areas. When the panel was dry in most places, I dabbed some gold gilding flakes on.  I really like the finished panel and decided to make 2 cards with it. I cut a panel to fit behind Avery Elle's Starburst Oval Die  and cut the die from white, I glued the Yuppo panel to the card base and mounted the die cut panel with foam tape.  I die cut Honey Bee's Anemone die from white cardstock and blended some blue ink to the centers, glued them together and then added a center die cut from the alcohol ink panel.  The leaves are cut from SU Pear Pizzazz. The sentiment is from an older SU set and I embosed it in gold and die cut it with a stitched die and mounted with foam tape under the starburst panel.  I really liked the finished card, and so did my daughter.

For my second card I die cut a Cottage Cutz Stitched Sqare from the Yuppo panel and mounted it with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Tuffted EF (ret.).  I stamped the Hero Arts Poppy in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Sweet Sorbet and Old Olive Blends. I then die cut it with the matching die.  I did trim some of the white around the flower, then mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is an older Verve stamp stamped on a stitched shape from SU Enduring Beauty dies., and mounted with foam tape. I like this one too.

Another Wedding Card

Hello friends. I have another wedding card to share today.  This is for another granddaughter (sister of the one getting married this weekend) that is getting married in December.  Her wedding theme is formal black and white so I thought this was perfect for them.

I die cut the image (no name on the die) 4 times from black cardstock and layered them for sturdiness and dimension.  I mounted it to an off-white panel embossed with a Darice EF with lots of hearts.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set on a strip of the off-white cardstock and mounted it across the center of the image with foam tape on the ends and glued in the middle.  I had these cute little heart enamel dots (Altenew) and thought they were the perfect finishing touch.

I will link to Just Us Girls Challenge CAS - Use just the center of your card as I think it fits the challenge.

Happy Birthday You Little Rascal

Hello friends.  I have a fun birthday card to share today.  I made it for a little one at church who is turning 2.  I just had to get this MFT Little Rascal set when I saw it as I knew I would be making cards for the little ones at church and I don't have any little grandchildren as they are all growing up so fast.

I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and cut them out with the matching dies.  I die cut a stitched rectangle die and blended Speckled Egg DOI for the sky using MFT Cloud Stencil,  I blended Bundled Sage DOI for the grass area and then mounted the two standing images with foam tape.  I glued the log and sitting raccoon  flat.  I also stamped a balloon from another set on the panel and then on yellow card and cut it out to glue over the stamped image.  I also added the #2 sticker on the balloon.  I mounted the rectangle panel with foam tape on a piece of pattern paper from my stash, then glued it on the white card base.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as they are featuring MFT products.

You Make My Heart Race

Hello friends.  I made a card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Fun With Dies and they are showcasing MFT products.  I used this sweet MFT stamp and die set called You Make My Heart Race -  isn't she cute.  This is for a young girl at church whose birthday is Valentine's Day.

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics and SU Blends - Flirty Flamingo (scooter) and Balmy Blue (dress).  I die cut the white panel with a Stitched Rectangle die and blended blue ink for the sky and gray for the road.  I added a thin black mat and mounted it to a piece of pattern paper from my stash, and then to the card base.  The image is mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment and die are from Hero Arts Ribbon Message Stamp & Cut, which I have had for quite a while.  I stamped the sentiment in black and colored it in with Flirty Flamingo and mounted it with foam tape also.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS Challenge as this is the first time I have used this new set.

Happy Birthday for Color Hues

Hello friends.  This is my second post today as I just received my new embossing folder (Spun Glass)  from Simon Says Stamp and I wanted to play with it.   I created a card for the Color Hues Challenge using it.

I embossed the white panel with the SSS Spun Glass EF and mounted it on a pink panel cut with an MFT Blueprints 27 die, then mounted it to the white card base.  I used Spellbinders Club Blooms (Large Die of the Month Club) to cut the flower and buds from white cardstock and sponged them with Real Red ink.  The top buds are a little lighter and I made the bottom ones darker red.  The leaves and sprigs are cut from Crumb Cake (a neutral).  I stamped the sentiment from SU Art Gallery in Real Read ink and die cut with a flagged end die.  I mounted the sentiment and the flower with foam tape and glued the leaves and buds under the flower petals.  For a final touch I scattered a few clear rhinestones around and added a fancy rhinestone to the flower center.

I have to link this one to AAA Birthday Challenge #45 - Anything Birthday Goes also as I love the way it turned out.

Christmas Money Holders

Hello friends.  I made these money holders for Christmas to give to my grandchildren. They are grown and it is easier to give them money so they can get what they want.  I will link them up at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Not a Card

I used an older Recollections 12x12 Christmas pad for the papers and it also had the cute tags in it, which I fussy cut.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom two form a couple of SU Christmas sets.  I used a scalloped border die to cut the flaps with.  I also added Velcro dots for the closure.

I have two more to make but wanted to get these linked to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge before it closes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Purple, Blue and Green

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Colleen has chosen the colors, Purple, Blue and Green as our "Toppings" option.

I strayed from my usual floral card and made one with balloons. I  thought it was a good choice for the colors (although flowers would fit perfectly also).  I dug out this older set from MFT( Party Balloons)  and stamped the balloons in Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather inks, then die cut them with the matching die.  I also stamped the confetti in the same colors.  The balloon strings, stamped in black, and the confetti were stamped on the white panel and then I embossed it with SU Tasteful Textile EF.  I glued the balloons on flat.  The sentiment is cut with an Impression Obsession die set in Highland Heather and Blueberry Bushel.  I die cut 2 sets and layered them for more stability and glued them on the embossed panel.

Be sure to check out all the great cards using these colors by the Design Team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Happy Stamping.

I Spot Someone Who's Having a Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today that I made for a cute little one that turned one this past weekend.

I used MFT Saddle Up and Celebrate stamps and die set.  All the images and sentiment are from that set except the fence and grass dies which are from a new SU set.  I cut the fence from woodgrain paper and 3 grass pieces from green card.  I colored the images with alcohol markers and mounted them with foam tape on a panel sponged with lt. blue for the sky and green for the grass area.  I matted the panel on a Soft Suede mat and then to the card base.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  This is for a sweet couple at church.  I have 6 anniversary cards to make for March and this is the first one. This card was inspired by a card of Lin's where she embossed with a hot foil plate. I just used a die cut and the cute flowers.

These cute little flowers are from Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms (larger flowers) and Mini Blooms and Sprigs (small flowers & leaves).  I cut them in several springy colors and layered them around a die cut from Spellbinders Elegant Ovals.  I mounted this with foam tape on a panel embossed with SU Danity Diamonds EF.  This panel was glued to a white card base.  The sentiment is from a Verve set that I have had for quite a while.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card I made for some good friends to share today.

I used Reverse Confetti's Peony stamp and die set for the pretty flower and leaves.  I stamped them in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Blends.  I used MFT Stitched Rectangle Frame die for the white panel and frame.  I mounted the frame with foam tape and glued the center cut out to the pattern paper from SU.  It was laying on my desk and I thought it went perfect with the pretty flower.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments.  I love the font in this set.  The flower was mounted with foam tape over the frame and the leaves were glued on the frame and I added foam tape on the sections not on the frame.

Merry Christmas in Red and Green

Hello Friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today.

I just received this new Reverse Confetti Open Drop Cover Panel die and wanted to use it so I die cut it from white and mounted it to the white card base.  I already had the red SU Poinsettia Petals die cut and thought they would be perfect with it.  I shaped the petals with my fingers, layered them, and added some small gold beads to the center.  The leaves are die cut from Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp and die set. and is stamped in Real Red ink.

Fun Fold Card

Hello friends.  I have new fun fold birthday card to share today.  I have seen several of these style cards on Pinterest so I decided to give it a try.  This card is for a special friend who has cows.

I used this cute MFT set The Whole Herd.  I stamped two of the cows, colored with Copics and then fussy cut them.   I sponged lt. green and lt. blue ink on the white panel and then stamped some grass with a really old CTMH stamp that I use a lot.  I also added a few birds from another set.  The pattern paper is from a SU Sale-a-Bration set, Perfectly Penned.  I masked off portions of the sentiment stamp to fit it on my little label die cut, cut 3 labels and layered them for sturdiness. The cows and the sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

The image panel is a separate layer that attaches to the card base, folds and tucks under the sentiment label when closed.  The photo below shows it opened.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes which is featuring MFT stamps this week.
