Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a red & white card I made for the Color Hues Challenge and just getting it done in the nick of time.

I used some older SU pattern paper and matted with Real Red card stock, then glued to the white card base..  The PTI Into The Blooms Dahlia was also cut from Real Red card.  The center is cut from white and I added a red rhinestone.  I used PTI Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket die to cut the white panel.  I also cut one from red, cut it in half to mat the white one and also cut the end to place at the top to have a mat for the whole frame.  I mounted the whole panel with foam tape to the pattern paper after stamping the sentiment, which is from an older Verve stamp set.  I die cut the two leaves from white using a die from Simon Says Stamp Hanging Leaf Ring set and glued them under the edge of the flower.  I also added 3 red rhinestones to the top right corner of the white panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  So glad you stopped by.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

For the background I used Altenew Diamond Frame Cover die cut in white and glued to the white card base.  I die cut SSS Divine Peony from Bristol Smooth 100# card and ink blended with DOI - Worn Lipstick for the flower & bud, and Bundled Sage & Rustic Wilderness for the leaves.  I cut an extra set of leaves, cut them apart and added them for more fullness.  I colored the center for the flower with an alcohol marker. The sentiment was already done and left over from another project so I thought it was a perfect finish for my card.

I am adding this to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge - A Bit O' Green

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the flower die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thanks Card

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for a friend who deserves many thanks.  I used the colors from the Color Hues Challenge - Pink & Aqua, and the theme from The Flower Challenge - Thanks.

I also used some new goodies to make my card - SSS Rustic Layering Flower, PTI Cornered: Lace die, and an older Altenew Bold Thanks die.  I die cut the corners from the white panel and added it to a panel of SU Coastal Cabana.  I lightly blended some SU Pretty in Pink ink in the center where I wanted to place the flowers. I die cut two sets of flowers and leaves from white card.  I blended Coastal Cabana ink on the stem & leaves and then snipped the leaves from the stems so I could place them where I wanted them.  I blended Pretty in Pink in to the centers of the flowers and also the die cut centers.  I glued all the layers together and place them to the top of the white panel and then glued the stems under the flowers.  I glued the leaves to different spots on the stems.  I die cut Thanks from Pretty in Pink card and added it to the background layer cut from vellum.  I glued the sentiment across the bottom of the stems and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

Birthday Card for a Friend

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for a friend.  I hope she likes it.

The red flower is cut with MFT Bold Blooms and the leaves are SSS Grand Corner Leaves.  I cut 2 of the largest flower, layered them, and added a swirly gem from Queen & Co. The Balmy Blue panel is cut with SU Stitched Greenery die and mounted to the white card base.   The white panel is cut with The Greetery Deco Frames Dies and stamped with a sentiment from The Greetery Arched Sentiments

Happy Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my daughter and son-in-law.  I was inspired by the colors of the Mood Board at Just Us Girls Challenge.

The color in the middle photo of the bottom row was what caught my eye and I thought the rays shooting up reminded me of the branches of this Fine Floral Stem by Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut the image from white card and sponged Peeled Paint DOI on the stems and Peacock Feathers DOI to the centers of each flower layer. I then glued the flower layers together and added gold fancy rhinestones to the center of each flower.  I embossed a light blue panel with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and mounted it to my white card base.  I then mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the stem down.  The sentiment is an older one from Verve Stamps.  I mounted it with foam tape across the bottom of the stem.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this die set.

Blackout Technique

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I used the blackout technique (also called reverse embossing) that I have seen in several places lately.  I watched this video on the technique and wanted to try it so this is what I ended up with.

ETA:  Yea, my card was the top winner at April Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge.

Winner's Badge

I used Simon Says Stamp Peony Bundle embossing folder and embossed my white cardstock.  Using the de-bossed side and blending brushes, I blended SU Pretty In Pink on the flower sections, with a little Flirty Flamingo in the centers, and SU Soft Succulent on the leaves.   After the ink-blending, I took Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink pad and swiped it over the panel several times to cover all the white area.  Of course, some of the black ink got on portions of the flowers too, but I still like the final result.  I matted this panel with a Pretty In Pink panel and then to the card base.  The sentiment from SU Go To Greetings was mounted with foam tape to the center of the image.

I will add this to Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge with a feminine twist
Please Grab Our Badge

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is my first time using this embossing folder (and also using this technique)

CASE a Seize the Birthday Designer

This is Seize the Birthday's last challenge for 2022 and Barbara has chosen our topping option to CASE a STB Designer.

I chose to copy this card of Barbara's as I really love it.  Heat embossing is her favorite technique and I enjoy it also.

This is my card

I did gold heat embossing on a panel of Midnight Muse card (SU ret.) using the large floral image from SSS Beautiful Flowers, stamping off the edge like Barbara did.  I also used a large sentiment from Waffle Flower Happy Birthday Sentiments.  I used Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder for the embossing.  I mounted the 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 blue panel on my white card base and I was done.  I am really pleased with the final result and I hope Barbara likes my CASE design..

Hop over to Seize the Birthday and check out which designer each team member decided to CASE.  I hope you will choose a designer and play in our fun challenge.  If you had rather do your own card, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a friend to share today.   I used the challenge at Just Us Girls - 6 of anything to make my card. They are celebrating their 600th challenge.  Congratulations to Just Us Girls.

The image is from Simon Says Stamp Mandy's Flowers (retired) which has 5 roses,  die cut it with the matching die and stamped just the flowers again,  I fussy cut the small bloom and leaf on top and added it to the bouquet to have 6 roses.  I colored the image with SU Flirty Flamingo ,Grnany Apple Green  and Seaside Spray (jar) Blends.  The white panel is die cut with a SU Scallop Contour die. I cut part of the way and then moved the die up and finished cutting it to make it long enough to fit the jar and flowers.  The pattern paper is from Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham.  I have had the paper and stamps for a couple of years but this is the first time I have used them and I think both are retired.  The sentiment and die cut banner are from My Favorite Things.  I glued it to the image and added foam tape under the ends as the image is mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card for some good friends that I am sharing today.

I love the flowers in my new Simon Says Stamp Look for the Rainbow set. ONE of my favorite flowers.  Like others I have so many that I can't just pick one which is what The Flower Challenge wants. I am sure I will be making more flower cards as it is my favorite kind to make.

I stamped the flower and leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Blends.  I then die cut them and added to a panel cut with Spellbinders Ornamental Valance (it makes such a pretty background) with foam tape.  The sentiment from Verve is embossed in gold and then I added 3 gold glitter enamel dots.

Since this is my first tine using the flower set I will like to the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge

My card also fits the challenge at Tic Tac Toe

I used the diagonal row from bottom left to upper right - embossing, coloring and flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Nancy has chosen hearts as our "topping option". Remember, it is an option and the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

My card is for a little one turning 3 on Valentine's Day.

I used a couple of different techniques on my card.  I stamped this cute bear from SSS Party Like A Panda and then stamped the heart balloon in his hand, masked the balloon and stamped a balloon on each side. I colored the image with different red and pink Copics.  I placed a square stitched die over the image and marked the top where it would cut.  I then hand cut around the tops of the balloons, placed the cut out part over the die and die cut it out.  I had not done this in a long time and it was fun to try it again.  The present is also a separate stamp which I colored with the Copics, fussy cut it out, and then mounted it with foam tape.  The image panel is also mounted with foam tape. The pattern paper is from an old paper pad in my stash. The mats are SU Real Red.

Don't forget to check out all the lovely heart creations by my teammates and Carol Mayne, who is our Surprise Party Guest starting today for the next two months over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

I will link to the Color Hues Challenge where the colors are red and pink.

and also to Just Us Girls Challenge - Masking (I masked the balloons)

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a young girl at church.  She is turning 4 and I thought she would like this cute panda image from Simon Says Stamp Party Like a Panda.
I used an oval die to cut the image after I colored it with Promarkers.  I stamped the heart balloon on pattern paper, and then stamped the presents, colored them and fussy cut them.  The balloon string is hand drawn.  The bear image is glued to the pattern paper and the balloon, presents and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moments.   I think the thin black mats make the panda bear stand out more.  I realized I should have mounted the bear image with foam tape also for more dimension.

I am linking up to Just Us Girls Challenge - Create Dimension as some of the elements do have dimension with the foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends. I am sharing a birthday card I made for a friend.  I found this pretty paper in an old DCWV Dots, Stripes & Plaids mat stack and wanted to do a card with it.
The gray plaid has glitter stripes in the design and is very pretty.  I used Simon Says Stamp Dot Scallop Border die on the darker gray paper.  I stamped the medium daisy from SU Daisy Lane in Smokey Slate ink and punched them with the matching punch.  I layered 2 flowers together and added a clear faceted gem to the center of each.  The leafs and sprigs are cut with dies from the Wonderful Romance set (retired).  I thought the white sprigs added a little extra to the design.  The sentiment is from SU Beautiful Bouquet, stamped in Basic Gray ink and die cut with the smallest Layering Oval die.  The scallop gray mat is also a die from the Layering Ovals and mounted with foam tape.  The card base is SU Smokey Slate (a perfect match for the plaid paper).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

JUGS Color Challenge

I made a card for a friend at church using the colors Nancy chose at the current Just Us Girls challenge.
I used SU Floral Essence for the leaves and flower.  I colored the flower with Pink Pirouette Blends and then added the darker shading with Melon Mambo ink and my aqua brush.  The leaves are stamped with Garden Green and punched with the Leaf Punch.  The designer paper is from the Garden Lane pack and the sentiment is from Magnolia Blooms.  The border on the white panel is cut with Simon Says Stamp Dot Scallop Border and mounted with foam tape.  The flower is also mounted with foam tape and I added a clear faceted gem.  I then used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen to add a little shine to the flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Welcome Little One

Hello friends.  I have a baby card to share today.  This one is for the daughter of a friend at church.  I am also making a mini album and will share photos of it later,  It is not quite finished, but I will share the cover which matches the card.
The image is a digital image "Tex", from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I made it smaller for the card and larger for the mini album cover.  I colored both images with Copics and Promarkers.  The die cut sentiment is Welcome, Little One by Simon Says Stamp.  I like how it has the shadow die cut with it.  The papers are from my stash of baby papers. :)  I matted them with MFT Blue Breeze cardstock, which is a perfect match for the pattern papers.

Here is the cover of the mini album.  More photos to come.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Your comments are always appreciated.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time our "Toppings Option" is to make it CAS (clean and simple).  Of course the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

For my card I stamped one of the flowers from Honey Bee Cosmos set  on a panel that I scored a half inch from each side.  I then colored it with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp It's Your Birthday.   I made a mask for the flower and splatter some yellow and tan DI (to match the flower) over the panel and then mounted it on a thick white card base and my card was done.  It is really clean and simple, and quick too.

Be sure to check out what the Design Team at Seize the Birthday created for your inspiration and I hope you will play along with us.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Foliage

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of foliage.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.
I used the leaves from Reverse Confetti Fall Foliage set.  After applying different Distress Inks to my paper I stamped them and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I also die cut birthday from the inked piece with Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday.  I stamped Happy using a Neat & Tangled stamp from Floral Frame.  I masked the stamp for just the Happy.  I free handed the word Fall, as the card is perfect for a fall birthday.  I adhered the leaves to the sentiment panel and mounted the panel and leaves with foam tape.  The kraft panel is embossed with a Tim Holtz Wood Grain EF.

Now check out all the cards by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  Lots of inspiration for you to get your cards done.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS Watercolour - Green, Orange and Brown

CAS Watercolur is celebrating their 2nd birthday and this month's challenge is to use orange, green, and brown.

I made this card for the CAS Watercolour challenge.  I stamped the image from Simon Says Stamp Mandy's Flowers on watercolor paper and colored it with my waterbrush and Distress Oxide Inks- Gathered Twigs, Frayed Burlap, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Spiced Marmalade.  I cut it with the matching die and mounted it with foam tape on a panel that is embossed with SU Subtle EF.  I then mounted that panel with foam tape to the card base.  I added a lt green enamel dot to the center of the flower.  The sentiment is from a TPC Birthday set stamped in Gathered Twigs DOI.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Wedding Card - Congratulations

Hello friends.  This is the second wedding card requested by my friend for her granddaughter's wedding.  She had two granddaughters getting married within two weeks of each other. I did this one like their invitation also, with the flower border on top and bottom with the names and date in the middle.  I blurred out the names which I created on the computer.
The flowers are stamped with Simon Says Stamp Beautiful flowers and colored with Copics to match the flowers on the invitation.  I am pleased with the final result and I think she will be also.

I am linking this up at the Flower Challenge - Anything goes.  You know I love making floral cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I appreciate it when you leave comments.
Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for a friend.
I used Simon Says Stamp More Spring Flowers stamps and matching dies, and also Spring Flowers for a couple of the leaves.  I colored them with Promarkers and then die cut them.  I added texture to the Soft Sky panel with the Courtyard 2 EF by Lifestyle Crafts.  After embossing, I swiped my white ink pad over the raised areas for a little highlight.   I used MFT Stitched Circle Frame and mounted it with foam tape for dimension and then added the small yellow enamel dots.  The sentiment is from JustRite Fancy Sentiments and I mounted that directly to the Soft Sky panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
