Seize the Birthday - Pink, Blue & Yellow

Hello Friends.  It is time for out new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Barbara would like us to use Blue, Pink, & Yellow on our cards.

I used this cute set from Simon Says Stamp called Party Like A Panda stamp & die set.  After stamping the images I colored them with SU Blends: Balmy Blue, Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lolly.  I die cut the images and mounted each with foam tape.  The Birthday sentiment is fussy cut.  The hat was separate and blued on the panda's head.  I mounted them to a panel embossed with a really old SU EF called Filigree Frame.  I thought it looked kind of like confetti so that is why I used it.  The panel was glued to the card base and the card was done.  I really like the finished card and will probably give it to a little one at church whose first birthday is next month.

Be sure to check out all the team's wonderful cards, along with our Party Guests over at Seize the Birthday.  Hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #295

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I chose the left column down -  Floral, Pink, Birthday.
and here is my card.
I used an older SU set call Two Tone Floral (which is a two-step set) for the pretty pink flowers and leaves.  I stamped the detailed stamp in Flirty Flamingo and the full image in Pretty in Pink and colored the stamens with a yellow marker.  The leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi (ret.)  I cut them using the matching dies and laid them aside to determine how to display them.  I cut the lacy edge panel using Gina K. Designs Master Layouts 19.  I taped the outer frame to the center panel and mounted it with foam tape to a panel embossed with SU Cross-hatch EF (ret.)  I mounted the flowers across the top with foam tape and glued the leaves under them.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp/Paper Rose Studio Stamptember set, and that finished my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Butterfly Card for JUGS

Hello friends.  I have another butterfly card to share at JUGS - dies, butterfly.

ETA:  my card was chosen as one of the Top 3 at Triple B.

I used another new die from SSS - Chelsea Butterfly.  This is such a pretty butterfly and I couldn't wait to play with it.  I cut it from a lt. blue card and blended a darker blue ink in the center of the wings.  I used a silver paint pen to go over the edge pieces before gluing them on, and then added the black body.   I had to think about how to use it on a card and I had this light gray panel embossed with Spellbinders Bamboo Screen so thought I would use it.  I die cut the white circle using SU Spotlight on Nature dies and glued the butterfly on.  I die cut two leaves stems from Peaceful Pine using SU Memorable Blooms dies and glued them on the gray panel and added the circle with foam tape.  I couldn't decide on a sentiment so didn't add one, maybe later.

I will also add this to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for JUGS

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for the JUGS Challenge - copy a designer's card.
ETA:  My card was Winner of the Week at JUGS.

There are so many lovely cards but I was inspired by Bobby's lovely card with the flowers tucked under the strip and the embossing.

For my card I die cut several of SSS Jaunty Stem flowers from Flirty Flamingo (flowers) and Granny Apple Green (stems/leaves).  I blended Flirty Flamingo ink in the centers of the larger flowers and on the bottom of the buds.  Instead of using the single flowers, I layered two together for more fullness and liked them better.  I colored the white dotted centers with a yellow marker.  After putting the flowers together, I tucked them behind a SSS Garden Fence die cut from white and the same lt. gray as the embossed background (Spellbinders Dazzling Diamonds EF).  I mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the stems down, then glued the fence on, and mounted to a white card base.  The sentiment is from SSS/Paper Rose Studio Stamptember 2025 - Thankful Florals stamp & die set and glued on the fence.  I really like the finished card

I will also add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used these SSS dies and the stamp/die set,

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Color Hues - Coral & Green

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card I made using the new Color Hues colors of coral and green.  Of course I thought of flowers with these colors and made an anniversary card for a couple at church.  I have 5 to make for May.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Divine Peony die, cut it from Mixed Media paper and blended SU Cameo Coral ink (ret.) over the flower layers and bud, making the centers and the bud darker.  The leaves are blended with Gina K. Designs Light Spruce.  The small center is colored with a dark brown marker.  I also rubbed the ink pad over a piece of the Mixed Media paper to die cut the Creative Expressions Mini Shadowed Sentiment from.  I didn't use the shadow though.  I also die cut 3 layers of the sentiment and glued them together for dimension.  I mounted the flowers, leaves, and sentiment on a white panel cut with Honeybee Spring Vine Layering Frames die.  I found this light green patterned paper in an older DCWV pad and thought it matched the green color so I glued the white panel to the pattern paper and then to a white card base.  The flower was mounted with foam tape and the leaves and bud glued under the petals. That's it for my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Last April Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  This is the last anniversary card I have to make for April anniversaries.  I do have several to make for May though.
I use some new dies I recently received - Gina K. Designs Ornate Frame and Simon Says Stamp Blossom Vine.  I cut the frame from white and also the flowers from white.  I blended SU Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the flowers and Soft Succulent ink on the stems & leaves. Thanks to Bonnie for the idea of adding the third flower. on this card.  I embosed a panel of Crisp Cantaloupe using SU Cross-Hatch EF and then mounted the white frame on it, adding the center piece back in.  I mounted the flowers with foam tape, gluing the stems down.  I cut the second flowers in half and added one to the center.  For the final touch I stamped the greeting from a Sweet n' Sassy stamp set, die cut it with an Altenew die and mounted it with foam tape.

I will add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the frame die and flower die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Add a Tag

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules wants us to Add a Tag to our card.
I used Simon Says Stamp Rustic Layering Flower for my bloom.  I used Pale Papaya card for the flower and blended Grapefruit Grove ink in the centers of the 3 layers, then glued them together.  I added a brown center, colored with a Copic marker.  The leaves are cut from Granny Apple Green and blended with a little Mowed Lawn DOI.  I cut the largest and smallest tags from SU Tailor Made Tags dies (ret.) and mounted the flower on the largest tag and added a bow to the top with a glue dot.  I stamped the sentiment on the small tag.  I cut a panel of Pale Papaya and glued it to the card base and then added a white panel embossed with SU Crosshatch EF (ret).  I mounted the large tag with foam tape and then added the small tag under the flower petals with foam tape.

Check out all the inspiration by the DT and our Party Guest over at Seize the Birhday.  I hope you will join us in this fun challenge.  Hope to see you in the gallery.

I am sharing at AAA Birthday - use die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Have a Koala-ty Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  I made this one for a young girl at church who is turning 8.  I used a new to me stamp and die set, Koala-ty Birthday by Simon Says Stamp and really like the finished card.  Sorry, the photo is a little crooked but the card has already been given to the recipient.

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics.  After die cutting the image, I mounted it with foam tape to a Soft Seafoam panel cut with a stitched rounded rectangle die.  I stamped and cut the sentiment from the set in a brown ink and mounted it with foam tape.  I glued this panel to a pink & white striped paper and rounded the corners with a punch to match the green panel.  I mounted this to a white card base and then added some tiny pink pearls for a little bling.

and also to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using this set.

Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a red & white card I made for the Color Hues Challenge and just getting it done in the nick of time.

I used some older SU pattern paper and matted with Real Red card stock, then glued to the white card base..  The PTI Into The Blooms Dahlia was also cut from Real Red card.  The center is cut from white and I added a red rhinestone.  I used PTI Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket die to cut the white panel.  I also cut one from red, cut it in half to mat the white one and also cut the end to place at the top to have a mat for the whole frame.  I mounted the whole panel with foam tape to the pattern paper after stamping the sentiment, which is from an older Verve stamp set.  I die cut the two leaves from white using a die from Simon Says Stamp Hanging Leaf Ring set and glued them under the edge of the flower.  I also added 3 red rhinestones to the top right corner of the white panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  So glad you stopped by.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

For the background I used Altenew Diamond Frame Cover die cut in white and glued to the white card base.  I die cut SSS Divine Peony from Bristol Smooth 100# card and ink blended with DOI - Worn Lipstick for the flower & bud, and Bundled Sage & Rustic Wilderness for the leaves.  I cut an extra set of leaves, cut them apart and added them for more fullness.  I colored the center for the flower with an alcohol marker. The sentiment was already done and left over from another project so I thought it was a perfect finish for my card.

I am adding this to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge - A Bit O' Green

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the flower die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thanks Card

Hello friends.  I have a new card I made for a friend who deserves many thanks.  I used the colors from the Color Hues Challenge - Pink & Aqua, and the theme from The Flower Challenge - Thanks.

I also used some new goodies to make my card - SSS Rustic Layering Flower, PTI Cornered: Lace die, and an older Altenew Bold Thanks die.  I die cut the corners from the white panel and added it to a panel of SU Coastal Cabana.  I lightly blended some SU Pretty in Pink ink in the center where I wanted to place the flowers. I die cut two sets of flowers and leaves from white card.  I blended Coastal Cabana ink on the stem & leaves and then snipped the leaves from the stems so I could place them where I wanted them.  I blended Pretty in Pink in to the centers of the flowers and also the die cut centers.  I glued all the layers together and place them to the top of the white panel and then glued the stems under the flowers.  I glued the leaves to different spots on the stems.  I die cut Thanks from Pretty in Pink card and added it to the background layer cut from vellum.  I glued the sentiment across the bottom of the stems and my card was done.  I really like the finished card.

Hello friends.  I am sharing a birthday card I made for a friend.  I hope she likes it.

The red flower is cut with MFT Bold Blooms and the leaves are SSS Grand Corner Leaves.  I cut 2 of the largest flower, layered them, and added a swirly gem from Queen & Co. The Balmy Blue panel is cut with SU Stitched Greenery die and mounted to the white card base.   The white panel is cut with The Greetery Deco Frames Dies and stamped with a sentiment from The Greetery Arched Sentiments

Happy Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my daughter and son-in-law.  I was inspired by the colors of the Mood Board at Just Us Girls Challenge.

The color in the middle photo of the bottom row was what caught my eye and I thought the rays shooting up reminded me of the branches of this Fine Floral Stem by Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut the image from white card and sponged Peeled Paint DOI on the stems and Peacock Feathers DOI to the centers of each flower layer. I then glued the flower layers together and added gold fancy rhinestones to the center of each flower.  I embossed a light blue panel with Spellbinders Diamond Plaid EF and mounted it to my white card base.  I then mounted the flowers with foam tape and glued the stem down.  The sentiment is an older one from Verve Stamps.  I mounted it with foam tape across the bottom of the stem.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this die set.

Blackout Technique

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I used the blackout technique (also called reverse embossing) that I have seen in several places lately.  I watched this video on the technique and wanted to try it so this is what I ended up with.

ETA:  Yea, my card was the top winner at April Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge.

Winner's Badge

I used Simon Says Stamp Peony Bundle embossing folder and embossed my white cardstock.  Using the de-bossed side and blending brushes, I blended SU Pretty In Pink on the flower sections, with a little Flirty Flamingo in the centers, and SU Soft Succulent on the leaves.   After the ink-blending, I took Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink pad and swiped it over the panel several times to cover all the white area.  Of course, some of the black ink got on portions of the flowers too, but I still like the final result.  I matted this panel with a Pretty In Pink panel and then to the card base.  The sentiment from SU Go To Greetings was mounted with foam tape to the center of the image.

I will add this to Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge with a feminine twist
Please Grab Our Badge

and to Darnell's NBUS as this is my first time using this embossing folder (and also using this technique)

CASE a Seize the Birthday Designer

This is Seize the Birthday's last challenge for 2022 and Barbara has chosen our topping option to CASE a STB Designer.

I chose to copy this card of Barbara's as I really love it.  Heat embossing is her favorite technique and I enjoy it also.

This is my card

I did gold heat embossing on a panel of Midnight Muse card (SU ret.) using the large floral image from SSS Beautiful Flowers, stamping off the edge like Barbara did.  I also used a large sentiment from Waffle Flower Happy Birthday Sentiments.  I used Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder for the embossing.  I mounted the 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 blue panel on my white card base and I was done.  I am really pleased with the final result and I hope Barbara likes my CASE design..

Hop over to Seize the Birthday and check out which designer each team member decided to CASE.  I hope you will choose a designer and play in our fun challenge.  If you had rather do your own card, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a friend to share today.   I used the challenge at Just Us Girls - 6 of anything to make my card. They are celebrating their 600th challenge.  Congratulations to Just Us Girls.

The image is from Simon Says Stamp Mandy's Flowers (retired) which has 5 roses,  die cut it with the matching die and stamped just the flowers again,  I fussy cut the small bloom and leaf on top and added it to the bouquet to have 6 roses.  I colored the image with SU Flirty Flamingo ,Grnany Apple Green  and Seaside Spray (jar) Blends.  The white panel is die cut with a SU Scallop Contour die. I cut part of the way and then moved the die up and finished cutting it to make it long enough to fit the jar and flowers.  The pattern paper is from Lawn Fawn's Gotta Have Gingham.  I have had the paper and stamps for a couple of years but this is the first time I have used them and I think both are retired.  The sentiment and die cut banner are from My Favorite Things.  I glued it to the image and added foam tape under the ends as the image is mounted with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have another anniversary card for some good friends that I am sharing today.

I love the flowers in my new Simon Says Stamp Look for the Rainbow set. ONE of my favorite flowers.  Like others I have so many that I can't just pick one which is what The Flower Challenge wants. I am sure I will be making more flower cards as it is my favorite kind to make.

I stamped the flower and leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with SU Blends.  I then die cut them and added to a panel cut with Spellbinders Ornamental Valance (it makes such a pretty background) with foam tape.  The sentiment from Verve is embossed in gold and then I added 3 gold glitter enamel dots.

Since this is my first tine using the flower set I will like to the NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge

My card also fits the challenge at Tic Tac Toe

I used the diagonal row from bottom left to upper right - embossing, coloring and flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn
