Make My Monday - Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and it is a birthday theme chosen by Debbie.  I make a lot of birthday cards for family and friends so this was a perfect theme for me..

I used Spellbinders Gerber Daisy to make the pink flower and green leaves.  I shaped the petals of the flower with my fingers before gluing the 3 layers together, adding the yellow center and then a sparkly gem to the center.  I mounted the daisy on a white panel cut with SU Radiating Stitches die.  The greeting is from an old SU set stamped in Early Espresso ink.  I mounted this panel to my card base and the card was done.

I hope you will check out all the cards by the team over at Make My Monday and join in our challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Make My Monday - On the Water

Hello friends.  We are starting a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is On the Water chosen by Dawn.

I used this loon image from a retired SU set Moon Lake.  I love the images in this set and couldn't part with it.  It is great for masculine cards.  I colored the image with SU Blends and blended Pool Party ink for the sky section.  I die cut the image with a stitched oval die and mounted it on a Lost Lagoon oval die cut.  The pattern paper is also old and matched the Lost Lagoon perfectly.   I cut a 1-1/4" slit in the center of the panel and folded it from the corner to the fold (I think it is called a collar fold).  I saw several cards with this fold on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.  I mounted this on a white panel and stamped the sentiment from SU Artistically Inked set.  I added a 3/8" strip of the pattern paper before mounting the image with foam tape.  This is all mounted to a Lost Lagoon card base.  I am pleased with the final result.

Be sure the check out all the great cards by the team over at Make My Monday.  I hope you will join in our fun challenge.

Make My Monday - Summer Theme

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and I am the host this time.  I have chosen Summer Theme for our cards.  I hope you have fun with this challenge.

I thought going to the beach was a fun summer activity so I used 4 different stamp sets to create my beach scene,  MFT PI Beach Day for the girl and sandcastle; MFT Penguins in Paradise for the palm tree; SU Paradise Palms (ret.) for the sun and sentiment, and the wave image from On the Horizon (ret.) stamped over the ink blended water section.  I also blended Crumb Cake ink for the sand area and a lt. blue for the sky and a med. blue for the water area.  I colored the girl and palm tree with SU Blends and Copic markers.  I glued the palm tree on and mounted the girl with foam tape after fussy cutting them out.

I hope you check out all the great cards by the designers over at Make My Monday and join in our fun challenge.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is Masculine.  I made this cute card for a young boy at church and he loved it.

I used an older stamp from MFT, Cowboy at Heart.  I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with Copics.  I blended lt. green ink for the grass and lt. blue ink for the sky, and added a Crumb Cake mat.  The white panel is embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF (ret.) after I stamped the sentiment from an older Gina K. set.  I matted the white panel with Crumb Cake and then added it to the card base and my card was done.

Be sure to check out all the great masculine cards at Make My Monday and join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Just Thinking of You

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is Clean and Simple (card base + 1 layer).  I made a Thinking of You card to send to a friend who is still recovering from a stroke.

For my card I softly blended Sahara Sand ink over Altenew Grid Stencil and then stamped SU Two Tone Flora in Calypso Coral ink, full strength for the detail image and stamping off once for the lighter base layer.  I stamped the first flower off the side and then added the second flower.  I wanted to add stems and leaves so I used SU Flowering Tulips for those and stamped them in Wild Wasabi ink.  The sentiment is also from the Flowering Tulips set.  For a final touch I used SU Stitched With Whimsy dies (retired)  around the panel - it just adds stitches but does not cut.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Make My Monday Challenge - Flowers

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is Flowers (my favorite of course).  Be sure to check out all the great cards by the team over at MMM and join in our fun challenge.

I combined some new and old items on this card.  The new are all Spellbinders products - Orange Peel EF, Stylish Oval Hello You Floral dies, and Essential Diamonds.  This is my first time using these products.  The old is Just Rite Large Fancy Sentiments (love the fonts in this set) and the die cut leaves from an older SU set.  I mounted the sentiment panel with foam tape and glued the flowers and leaves on the embossed panel.  I added some green enamel dots for a final touch.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS Challenge (Never Before Used Schtuff).

Frame It for Make My Monday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and the theme is Frame It.

I made an anniversary card for a young couple at church.  The flower is from Papertrey Ink Into the Blooms II dies, cut from SU Primrose Petals (retired), and the leaves from 2 different SU sets were cut from Wild Wasabi (retired).  The sentiment is from SU Celebrating You stamped in Early Espresso ink.  I made the frame using HoneyBee Wood Frame Builder dies, cutting 2 sides and 2 ends from Sahara Sand card and then taped the corners on the back.  I then cut a white panel and glued behind the frame for the sentiment and flower. The large white panel is stamped in Crumb Cake ink with Pinkfresh Studio Diamond Tiles background stamp.  I mounted the flower with foam tape and glued the leaves under the petals, then added a rhinestone gem to the center of the flower.  I also coated the flower petals with Wink of Stella for extra shine.

I will link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Frame Builder dies.

Make My Monday #197 - P is for...

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge at Make My Monday and Pamela has chosen P is for...

My first thoughts were pink or purple so I went with pink as I had these pretty pink pattern papers on my desk from a mini album I had made.

I used some scrap pieces of 2 shades of pink to die cut the Spellbinders Club Blooms (Jan. Large Die of the Month Club).  I die cut 2 of the flowers from a lighter pink and the buds from a slightly darker pink.  The leaves are cut from Pear Pizzazz and the stems from Soft Sea Foam.  All of these were scrap pieces so it worked together perfectly.  I already had the stitched oval die cut so I stamped the sentiment from  SU Peaceful Moments.  The sentiment oval and large flower are mounted with foam tape and I glued the leaves and bud stems under the edges.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by the design team and join in our fun challenge.  What can you think of with the letter P?

Spring Colors for Make My Monday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and this time we are looking for Spring colors.

I went with yellow, green and pink as my Spring colors and used Spellbinders Club Blooms (January Large Die of the Month Club) to die cut the pretty flowers and leaves.  After cutting the flowers I sponged a darker yellow ink in the centers, layered them together and added a frosty gem to the centers.  I used 2 shades of green for the leaves and stem and then glued the pink buds on.  I glued these to a panel embossed with Spellbinders Loops EF.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set and cut with a stitched banner die.  I mounted it with foam tape and glued the panel to my white card base.

I hope you check out all the inspiration by the designers and join in our fun challenge.

Make My Monday - Tag It

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Make My Monday and Mary has chosen Tag It for our theme.  I added a tag to my birthday card for a friend.

Make My Monday Challenge Blog

I embossed the top white panel with SU Timeworn Type EF, then added a strip of Night of Navy card and the striped DSP panel from SU Sun Prints.  The pretty flowers are from SU Sending Smiles and stamped in Calypso Coral and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.  I die cut them with the matching dies and then added the flowers to the leaves and mounted them with foam tape.  I stamped and cut an extra flower and tiny leaves to mount on the end of the tag.  I added small gold color rhinestones to the flower centers.  The tag is cut with SU Tailor Made Tags dies.  The sentiment from SU Flowering Tulips is stamped in Night of Navy ink and then mounted with foam tape.  Oh, I added the white Baker's Twine bow before mounting the tag.

Make My Monday Challenge

Hello friends.  I have a new card for Make My Monday Challenge #194 and the theme is All Creatures Great or Small chosen by Debbie.

I chose this cute image from SU From All of Us (ret.) as it has several animals, great and small.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with several different SU Blends.  I fussy cut the image as there is no matching die.  I blended DOI on the white panel for the sky and grass and then stamped two of the branch images and colored them with the Blends.  I stamped a third one on a scrap piece, fussy cut it, and mounted it with tiny foam pieces between the other two to make it fuller looking.  I mounted the cute animals with foam tape also.  The sentiment is from the same set and I cut it apart and mounted it with foam tape also.

Be sue to check out all the fun cards by the team over at Make My Monday.

Make My Monday - Love is in the Air

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card for the new Make My Monday Challenge - Love is in the Air.  I thought an anniversary card was perfect for this theme as there is always love in the air when celebrating an anniversary.

I used Memory Box LaRue Heart to die cut the heart from a white panel.  I then embossed the panel with SU Tasteful Textile EF, glued it to the red panel and then glued the white heart back in.  The banner and sentiment are from SU Always in My Heart Stamp & die set (ret.).  I folded the ends of the banner and mounted it with foam tape in the middle and glued the ends down.  I added some red rhinestones for a little bling.

Make My Monday Challenge

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Top Four at January AAA Birthday Challenge.

Hello friends.  I have some exciting news to share - I found a new challenge to play in and they were looking  for new DT members.  I played in the challenge and was invited to join the Make My Monday Challenge Design Team and am so happy to be sharing my first card for the challenge.

The first challenge for 2023 is to choose your favorite theme from 2022 for your card.  Of course, I went with a birthday theme as I am always making birthday cards for friends and family.  I  chose Challenge #185 - Birthday Wishes.  Here is my card.

For my card I embossed a Smokey Slate panel with Gina K. Designs Lattice EF and then swiped white ink across the raised areas for a little more definition.  The white panel is cut with Pinkfresh Studio Braided Oval die.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Little Delights (ret.) and added the oval panel with foam tape to the gray panel.  The flowers are from SSS Delicate Flowers.  I stamped them on watercolor paper with Versamark ink and embossed with black powder.  I used SU Berry Burst ink (ret.) and my water brush to watercolor the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves; then added a little Crushed Curry ink to the large flower center.  I glued these around the bottom of the oval and added a little foam tape under the leaves off the panel.   For a final touch,  I scattered a few clear rhinestones around for a little bling.

Be sure the check out which 2022 theme the designers chose over at Make My Monday and join in with our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Christmas Card

Hello Friends.  I made another Christmas card with some new dies I didn't get to use this Christmas so I am getting ready for next Christmas. :)

I die cut Altenew 3D Poinsettia from SU Cherry Cobbler card and shaped the petals with my fingers.  I also added a little Diamond Stickles Glitter to the petal tips.  I glued the 4 layers together and added a glitter gem to the center.  I mounted this on a panel of Crumb Cake card that I had stamped with an MFT Christmas type background stamp in Whisper White ink.  I die cut Creative Expressions Merry Christmas once from gold foil and layered it over 2 more Crumb Cake die cuts for dimension.  I really like the final result and will be making more cards with the 3D Poinsettia dies.

I will link this to a new challenge I found which is Make My Monday Challenge and they are asking for cards with Something New.

and another new challenge I found - Inspire, Create Challenge  #133 - New to You.
