May Viva la Verve Sketh

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card that I made for my granddaughters to give to their mother (my daughter) for Mother's Day.  She loved the card.  I used Viva la Verve May Sketch and Verve's Favorite Mom Digital Set.

I printed the flower from the digi set in 3 different sizes, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them.  I layered them and added a pearl to the center.  The leaves  and sentiment are also from the set.  The sentiment circle was die cut with a circle die and also colored with Copics.  I added tiny pearls to the centers of those flowers.  The circle is mounted on an MFT doily die.  The papers are from some goodies in my Verve order (thanks Julee).  The white panel is embossed with a retired SU embossing folder.  I also printed one of the sentiments for the inside but forgot to take a photo of it.

ETA: Since I used pink I am also linking this to the Verve May Diva Inspirations Challenge - Pink

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #281

Hello friends and happy Monday.  Our Merry Monday Challenge this week is hosted by Kim who has challenged us to use this inspiration photo to create our Christmas cards.
I used this cute cup from Verve Coffee Helps set.  I stamped it, then enlarged it a little on my printer so that it would fill up my Spellbinders Circle die cut and Scallop Circle mat.  I cut a slit in the foam part and added the candy cane sticker by Recollections which I mounted on cardstock and fussy cut.  The cup is colored with promarkers and then fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.  I sponged around the circle with Natural ink before removing the die.  The mats are cut from SU Real Red.  The sentiment is from Verve Holiday Treats (discontinued) and cut with a Spellbinder Card Creator die and mounted with foam tape.  The pattern paper is from a Graphic 45 Christmas pad.

You can check out all the designers' cards and the rules to play along over on the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog.  Can't wait to see what you create with this fun photo for inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Wishes for The Paper Players #382

Good morning friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card I made for a couple at church.  I have 4 more to make for March.  I used the sketch from The Paper Players.
I used the retired SU Secret Garden for the flowers and leaves and stamped them in Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz inks.  I die cut them with the matching dies, and mounted them with foam tape.  I added a glittered enamel dot to the centers.  The sentiment is from Verve Love Story (sorry it is discontinued). I stamped it on a Wonky Stitched Rectangle from MFT and matted it with black.  The pattern paper is from a Recollections 6x6 pad and the center strip is MFT Natural CS.

ETA:  My card was chosen as a Cut Above at The Paper Players.

Happy Birthday for Viva la Verve

I am sharing a card I made for a good friend at church using the February Viva la Verve Sketch (love the sketch - this is my second card using it).  I used pattern papers from Recollections Home Basics 6x6 pad from Michael's, a strip of MFT Naural CS and thick white cardstock.  The sentiment is from Verve Cake & Candles, and was cut with Spellbinders circles and scallop circles with foam tape between the layers.  The flowers and leaves from PTI Gran's Garden were stamped with Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi inks, and die cut with the matching dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for Viva la Verve

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a friend at church using the February Viva la Verve Sketch.

I used 3 Verve sets: Wishful Elegance (sentiment) and Grateful Elegance for the flowers and the largest flower was a Plain Jane single stamp (sorry, they are all discontinued).  I colored the flowers with Promarkers and then fussy cut them, and layered them.  I added some blue Nuvo Drops to the centers to match the flowers on the DSP.  All the DSP, including the blue, is from a My Mind's Eye 12 x12 pad.  The leaves are punched with a SU punch and the white scallop border is also a SU punch.  The white circles are cut with Spellbinders dies and the top circle is mounted with foam tape to the scallop circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Sending You a Whole Latte Love

Happy Thursday friends.  We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option of coffee or tea on our cards.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

For my card I printed the two images from the Silhouette store and then fussy cut them out.  I mounted them with foam tape on some lt. kraft DSP from Teresa Collins Something Wonderful 6x6 pad.  The top sentiment is from Verve Coffee Helps (and it is on sale) stamped directly on the DSP.  I created "on your Birthday" on my computer and die cut it was an MFT Fishtail Flags die and mounted it with foam tape.  The red mat is SU Cherry Cobbler and I added some red gemstones from Hobby Lobby to bring out the red hearts on the cups, and mounted it all on a kraft card base.

I am also linking up to The Paper Players Color Challenge - red, kraft, white.

Now check out what the rest of the design team created over on Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.

Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Hello friends.  We are starting 2018 off with an "Anything Goes" challenge at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us.

 Here is my card.
The sentiment is from Verve's Cake & Candles and the flowers are from Verve's Winter Peace Digital set.  I colored the flowers with Promarkers, fussy cut them and mounted them with foam tape.  The DSP is from Go! Weekend by Nicole.  The mats are SU Smoky Slate.  The white panel is embossed with a Spellbinders EF.

I used the December Viva la Verve sketch challenge for my card and am linking it there.  I love this sketch and have made several cards with it.  The challenge closes tonight so I just made it in time with this card.

I hope you will check out all the cards by my fellow designers over at Seize the Birthday, and you will be inspired to play along.

Happy Valentine's Day Card

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for an upcoming card class I am doing at our church.  Since it is Valentine's Day next month I thought they would enjoy making a Valentine card, plus we will be making a couple of other cards.  I went by the December Viva la Verve sketch but altered it a bit. I used a rectangle and added the two hearts for the circle elements.
ETA:  Here is a better picture I was able to take today which shows the true colors.

I had to take the photo inside and the color is not as bright as it should be, as it is a cold and dreary day here in Florida.  I know it is even colder in most states and even in North Florida.  I used retired SU red stripe paper, and some older Making Memories black dotted paper.  The hearts are cut with The Cat's Pajamas Heart Trio die.  The sentiment is from Verve's Love Notes and the heart border is from Verve's Scallop Trim Trio die set.  The white panel is embossed with a Darice EF.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #271 - Use Embossing

Good Morning friends and Happy Monday.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and the beginning of a New Year.  It is never too early to get started on your Christmas cards for this year and you can join us at Merry Monday Challenge where Linda is starting us off with a challenge to use dry or heat embossing on our cards.
I chose dry embossing and used the SU Holly EF on the white panel (I thought the holly leaves went well with the holly leaves on the cup & saucer image).  The cup image and the sentiment are from a A Cup of Kindness digital set designed by Julee over at Verve Stamps.  I colored the cup image with Promarkers, fussy cut it, and adhered it with foam tape.  The DSP is from the Mad 4 Plaid 6x6 pad by Photoplay.  I matted the DSP and sentiment panel with black CS and adhered them to the embossed panel, and then to the card base.

Check out all the designers cards with embossing over at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge and I hope you will join us.

Good Morning friends.  Just 2 more days until Christmas.  I hope you all are ready.

Today I am sharing a card I made for a good friend whose anniversary is a few days after Christmas.
The flower and leaves are from SU Painted Harvest set.   I stamped the flower in Pink Pirouette and Sweet Sugarplum inks, and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz. The center of the flower is stamped with SU Smoky Slate, stamped off once for a lighter shade.  The sentiment is from Verve Love Story (discontinued).  The sentiment panel was cut using a Spellbinders die and mounted with foam tape.  I fussy cut the Baha Breeze mat.  The pattern paper and card base are also SU Baha Breeze.  I added some Silver Nuvo Crystal drops to the sentiment panel.  The white panel is embossed with a Darice EF.

Merry Monday #268 - Use a Santa Hat

Happy Monday friends.  It is time for a new Merry Monday challenge and this week Deanne wants us to use a Santa hat on our cards.

I used this cute Cottage Cutz Santa Puppy and paper pieced him together with his stocking and Santa hat.  I die cut him from SU Crumb Cake CS and sponged a little ink for shading.  I then added him to a panel cut with Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats Rounded Rectangles.  The mats are SU Real Red and I rounded the corners to match the die cut.   I don't remember which pad the pattern paper is from but I think it was an Authentique Christmas pad.  The greeting is from Verve Peace on Earth on a banner cut with an MFT die.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Merry Monday and join us for this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #267 - Blue, Green, and White/Vellum/Silver

Hello friends and happy Monday.  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and are ready for a new Merry Monday challenge, gotta get those Christmas cards done as it is only 4 weeks until Christmas.
This week Colleen wants us to use blue, green and silver/white/vellum on our cards.
For my card I used SU Tempting Turquoise CS for the card base and ink for the blue ornament, and Pear Pizzazz CS for the Memory Box Pine Needle Border and Pear Pizzazz ink for the green ornament.   The ornaments are from SU Ornament Keepsakes stamp set (retired), cut with the matching framelits dies, and are mounted with foam tape.  I stamped just the hanger part of the ornament in silver ink and fussy cut it to glue on the top.  I die cut the bows from Memory Box Precious Hearts out of Brushed Silver paper.  The sentiment is from Verve Peace on Earth.  The background panel is embossed with SU Pinewood Planks EF.

Just Us Girls - Die Cuts

Good morning friends.  Hope you have had a good week.  We have had a lot of rain this week and we sure needed it.  The lawns are looking green again instead of brown.

I made an anniversary card for a couple at church.  I used die cuts so I am joining the JUGS challenge - use die cuts.
I used Cheery Lynn Designs Daisy Strip for the flowers with 2 layers.  I sponged CTMH Plum Mist ink in the certers and added a gold rhinestone.  The large leaves are made with LaLa Land Open Leaf Flourish die and SU Pear Pizzazz CS.  the small leaves are made with SU Flourish Thinlits die.
The sentiment and frame are from Verve's Love Story set, which has been discontinued.  The card base and pattern paper are CTMH Plum Mist, which I have had for quite some time.  I am trying to use some of my stash of papers.

Vellum for Seize the Birthday

Hello crafty friends, it is Thursday and time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  This week we have the "Toppings" option of using vellum on your birthday project.  Remember it is just an option and the only requirement is that it be for a birthday.

My first thought was to use flower images on vellum as they turn out so pretty, but decided I would use a Memory Box butterfly.  I die-cut it in white and then fussy cut the vellum to go underneath.  I glued just the body part and bent the wings up slightly.  Inked the back of the butterfly with some springy colors, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is a Verve stamp in SU Early Espresso ink.  The sentiment panel is cut with an MFT die, and mounted with foam tape.  The mats and the flourish are SU Early Espresso CS.  The pattern paper is from MME Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing.

Don't forget to check out all the fabulous cards by the designers over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will be inspired to play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
