Peeking Snowmen

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today and there are no poinsettias. :)  This card is going to my grandson in West Virginia where they have been getting snow and really cold weather.  I thought they would like it.

I think these Cottage Cutz Peeker Snowmen are so cute.  I have had them for awhile and this is the first time using them.  I saw several cards on Pinterest using them so had to get them out to play with.  I die cut the images from white and colored them with Copics. After assembling all the pieces, I found some brick patterned paper to place them on.  I die cut Cottage Cutz Icicle Border  and added it to the top of the pattern paper, added this to a panel embossed with SU snowflake EF (ret) and then added the cute snow people with foam tape, as I colored one in pink, so she has to be a girl. :)  I am not sure which set the sentiment is from as I had it on a block and decided to use it.  After stamping it, I fussy cut around it and glued it to the snowflake panel and my card was done.

I will add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using these dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

A Couple of Christmas Cards

Hello friends.  I have a couple of Christmas cards to share today.

I used the Joy Nativity die from Cottage Cutz on both cards - I love this die and enjoy using it because it is about the true meaning of Christmas.  The first one is cut from copper foil and glued to a white SU Scalloped Contour die cut, then to a mat of the copper foil.  This panel is mounted on pattern paper (SU ret.) which has copper foil stars on it, then matted with a Night of Navy scallop mat (MFT Blueprints 27)..

The second card uses silver foil to cut the Joy die from, although the light is reflecting in it so it doesn't look like silver.  I mounted it to a white mat cut with MFT Rounded Banner Stax die, shortened to the length I needed and mounted with foam tape.. The silver foil pattern paper is from a Christmas pack from Hobby Lobby.  The sentiment is also from an older MFT set cut with a stitched flag die and mounted with foam tape.

CAS Mix Up - Inchies

Hello friends.  I have a card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge - Inchies to share with you today.
I used stamping, coloring, dry embossing and texture.
I have never used such small stamps before but wanted to give it a try.  I first cut 4 one inch squares and then stamped these cute images from Cottage Cutz Snow Fun.  The set was a gift from a friend.  I colored them with markers, sponged some light blue ink around the 3 sides and then added a tiny bit of Snow Texture Paste to the bottoms. I think they turned out so cute.  I matted them with a thin red mat and added them with foam tape to a panel that was partially embossed with SU Softly Falling EF.  I stamped the sentiment in SU Real Red with a Verve stamp, added a thin red mat and then added the panel to my card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #289 - Add Star to Your Card

Good morning Merry Monday fans.  This week our challenge is brought to us by Debbie and she wants us to add a star to our Christmas card.
For my card I used star pattern paper from Tim Holtz Christmas 8x8 pad cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 27.  The white circle is cut with MFT Stitched Circle Stax and the sentiment (done on my computer) panel is cut with MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags Stax.  I cut one end part of the way and then placed it back in the die to cut the other end.  The joy is a die by Cottage Cutz called Joy Nativity, cut from gold foil paper by Recollections.  I cut one gold and 2 white layers, glued them together and mounted it and the sentiment panel with foam tape.

Please hop over to the Merry Monday Challenge blog and check out all the wonderful cards with stars by the Design Team.  Can't wait to see your cards in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #268 - Use a Santa Hat

Happy Monday friends.  It is time for a new Merry Monday challenge and this week Deanne wants us to use a Santa hat on our cards.

I used this cute Cottage Cutz Santa Puppy and paper pieced him together with his stocking and Santa hat.  I die cut him from SU Crumb Cake CS and sponged a little ink for shading.  I then added him to a panel cut with Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats Rounded Rectangles.  The mats are SU Real Red and I rounded the corners to match the die cut.   I don't remember which pad the pattern paper is from but I think it was an Authentique Christmas pad.  The greeting is from Verve Peace on Earth on a banner cut with an MFT die.

Be sure to check out all the great cards by my teammates over at Merry Monday and join us for this fun challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I just found Tracey McNeely"s challenge for 25 Days of Christmas Tags.
They are on Day 10 but this is my first tag.  I was inspired by Birgit's lovely tag on Day 2.

I used my new  Poppystamps Main Street Stitched Tag; Cottage Cutz Christmas Cheer Candles die; and Impression Obsession Peace die.  I cut the largest tag die out of gold foil cardstock and the next size down out of white cardstock.  The candles are cut from various cardstocks.  I added red pearls to the holly leaves.  I really like how the tag turned out.

I hope I can create more tags for Tracey's challenge.  You can check out all the details and play along here.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday #126 - Have a Holly Jolly Season

I have had a lot of family stuff and a doctor's appt. this week and this is the first time I have been able to make a card.  My card is for the Merry Monday #126 challenge to make the sentiment the star of your Christmas card.
For my card I used all My Favorite Things products except the DSP from Little Yellow Bicycle Making Merry 6x6 pad and the Santa hat from a Cottage Cutz die.  I added a tiny pompom at the end of the hat. The sentiment panel is cut with the Textile Rectangle die from Smooth White CS and stamped the sentiment from Grand Holiday Greetings in Electric Red ink.  I also cut two of rectangles in red and cut them half (1 lengthwise and 1 crosswise) to make the mat for the sentiment. The mats are Electric Red CS and the base is Smooth White CS.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #112 - Santa Puppy

Good Sunday morning everyone. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
I have made a card for the Merry Monday #112 challenge to use a Santa hat on your card.
I have used this adorable Santa Puppy from Cottage Cutz.
I used SU Whisper White and Real Red CS.  I die cut all the pieces of the puppy, added a little shading (which looks darker than it is in the photo) and adhered him to the panel with foam tape. The panel is embossed with SU Decorative Dots EF.  His nose section and the stocking are mounted with foam tape also.  The sentiment is from an older Inspired By Stamping Festive Frames set. The DSP is from my paper stash.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

Happy Holidays for Merry Monday #95 & DS137

The Merry Monday Challenge this week is to use an animal on your Christmas card and the Deconstructed Sketch #137 has lots of layers, which I like. :)

DS137 by the Deconstructed Sketch
The white photographed a little wonky and I took several photos trying to get it right, but this is the best I could do.  I paper-pieced the cute penguin from Cottage Cutz Jolly Penguin die (I love it!). I added a little gray shading around the white parts.  He is mounted with foam dimensionals on circles cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set called Riveting, stamped in SU Garden Green ink. I used 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches for the sentiment pieces.  I hand-cut the small banners.  All the DSP is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas 6x6 pad. The mats are SU Basic Black and the card base is MFT Smooth White CS.
