Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card for a friend to share today.  I was inspired by this card by Angie.  I love her sponged background and the way she sanded the raised edges of the embossed panel.  I recently got this EF at Hobby Lobby and wanted to create the lovely background so I CASE'd Angie's card (thank you Angie).  I used a different sentiment and added some SU Stitched Blooms that coordinate with the colors in the background.  I had a third flower laid out but it didn't look right so just went with the two flowers.

The sentiment is from SU Well Written Dies which has been die cut from white and layered on black and then fussy cut. I glued the sentiment down and added foam tape under the flowers.

I will link to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes (as my card is different than Angie's).
I will also link to Time Out Chaallenge - 7th Birthday Celebration.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate the visit and when you take time to leave a comment.

Happy Mail for The Paper Players

Hello friends.  I am glad you stopped by.  I have a card for a friend that is in the hospital and I thought she would enjoy this cute card to cheer her up  She is a fellow cardmaker and loves getting handmade cards.

Edit:  My card was one of the A Cut Above at the Paper Players:

I used Newton's Nook Sending Happy Mail for the inage and sentiment.  I colored the image with SU Blends and Promarkers.  I sponged Pear Pizzazz for the ground and Bashful Blue (retired) for the sky.  I die cut the panel with SU Stitched Rectangle die and matted with a thin black mat.  The card front in embossed with SU Tasteful Textile EF.

I will link to The Payer Players challenge as LeAnne wants cards with a Feline Fix.

Create a Scene for STB

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  We have a new challenge for you at Seize the Birthday and for our "Topping Option" Lindsey would like us to create a scene on our card.  Remember if you are not into the "Topping Option", you just have to make a birthday card.

I created a scene with MFT Up In the Air set. First I sponged DOI on for the sky and ground and then stamped some hilly grass on the bottom edge.  I colored the hot air balloon and cute doggie with SU Blends.  The dog is separate and I glued him to the balloon and then mounted the whole image with foam tape.  The clouds are glued on and the cute little birdies are also mounted with foam tape.

Be sure to check out all the lovely scenic cards created by our guest designer and team over at Seize the Birthday. I hope you will be inspired to join us for this fun challenge.  See you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for 3 Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card for a friend that I am sharing today.

I had this pretty flower image stamped and ready to color so I colored it to match the new Color Hues Challenge - Peach & Green. The leaves are colored with markers and the flowers are colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsolI mounted them with foam tape.  The sentiment from a SU set is stamped in Granny Apply Green and mounted with foam tape on the right side and glued over the flower image. I matted a pale peach cardstock under the Hemstitch Oval die cut panel.

The image is from MFT Fresh Cut Flowers so I will link to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is showcasing MFT products. My favorite technique is coloring flowers.😀

And of course I have to enter The Flower Challenge as I am using my new floral stamp and new Spellbinder dies.

That was meant to be that my card fit the 3 challenges.  I really do love making floral cards, if you couldn't tell by all my posts. 😉

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share today.  It is for the CAS Christmas Card Challenge -  Dogs and or Cats.

I stamped the cute kitties from Newton's Nook Caroling Newton in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Promarkers.  I added some white Flower Soft to the hat brims and pompoms on the 2 kitties on the right.  I fussy cut the image and mounted with foam tape to a stitched rectangle die cut that I embossed with SU Snowfall EF.   The sentiment is from the same set and I fussy cut it and added it with foam tape also. I added a thin red mat and then added it to my card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Sympathy Card

Today I am sharing a sympathy card for a dear friend whose husband passed away. This is what I made.

The flowers are from the new SU True Love paper.  I fussy cut them and colored them with SU So Saffron Blends with a touch of Mango Melody. The white panel is embossed with the Subtles EF.  The b/w stripe paper is from the same paper pack and the So Saffron is from the 6x6 Subtles pack.  The sentiment is from SU Peaceful Moments, cut and matted with the Layered Ovals dies and mounted with foam tape. The flowers are also mounted with foam tape.  The leaves are cut with a die from the Forever Fern set. I cut it apart and added pieces under the flowers.  I added this to the black mat and then to my card base and my card was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  Today I have a birthday card to share that I made for The Flower Challenge - Latest Stamps or Dies.

For my card I used my new Altenew Wallpaper flowers and Honey Bee Stamps' Farmhouse Check Background. I stamped the background in Memento Tuxedo Black and matted with a black mat.  The flowers are also stamped in black and colored with Copics.  I fussy cut the flowers and added some black Nuvo Drops to the centers of the flowers.  The leaves are from Altenew Beautiful Day and stamped with two shades of green and then die cut.  The sentiment is from a SU set embossed in white on a black stitched flag die cut.  I mounted the flowers and the sentiment with foam tape, only putting tape on the ends of the banner and glue in the center.

Thanks so  much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Nancy has chosen hearts as our "topping option". Remember, it is an option and the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

My card is for a little one turning 3 on Valentine's Day.

I used a couple of different techniques on my card.  I stamped this cute bear from SSS Party Like A Panda and then stamped the heart balloon in his hand, masked the balloon and stamped a balloon on each side. I colored the image with different red and pink Copics.  I placed a square stitched die over the image and marked the top where it would cut.  I then hand cut around the tops of the balloons, placed the cut out part over the die and die cut it out.  I had not done this in a long time and it was fun to try it again.  The present is also a separate stamp which I colored with the Copics, fussy cut it out, and then mounted it with foam tape.  The image panel is also mounted with foam tape. The pattern paper is from an old paper pad in my stash. The mats are SU Real Red.

Don't forget to check out all the lovely heart creations by my teammates and Carol Mayne, who is our Surprise Party Guest starting today for the next two months over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.

I will link to the Color Hues Challenge where the colors are red and pink.

and also to Just Us Girls Challenge - Masking (I masked the balloons)

Birthday Card for TTC #098

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today. I used the bottom row across on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge -  Sentiment, Embellishment, Die Cut.

Edited:  My card was a Team Pick at Tic Tac Toe

The sentiment is from an older set from Inspired by Stamping Vintage Frames.  The die cut frame is by Mama Elephant and the flowers and leaves from Altenew Beautiful Day are also die cut.  I added 3 dark blue rhinestones for embellishments.  The background panel is embossed with a Darice EF (no name).  I mounted the frame with foam tape.  The flower and leaves are also mounted with foam tape and glued on the parts that touched the frame.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of white and then cut it into a banner shape and mounted it with foam tape also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate the visit and when you take time to leave a comment.
Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes for The Flower Challenge #52

Hello friends.  I finally got my card done for the Flower Challenge -  Embossing Heat/Dry

I stamped Honey Bee Winter Anemone in Basic Gray ink on watercolor paper and then re-stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut the image with my Scan N' Cut and then watercolored with DOI (Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed).  While this was drying I mounted the dry embossed panel (SU Tulip Border - retired) on a thin pink mat then to the card base.  I stamped Birthday Wishes (SU Fancy Phrases) on the embossed panel and mounted the flower image with foam tape.

You can see the shine from the embossed outline in the bottom photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Twofer Challenge and Just Us Girls

Hello friends.  This is my second post today and I have two cards I made for the two challenges:  Twofer Challenge and Just Us Girls Challenge

This is my first time participating in the Twofer challenge but since it was for flowers, I had to join in.

I originally made the card with the blue stripes for Just Us Girls Challenge

I used scraps of blue and cut different widths, added them to a transparency and then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom strip and then mounted it with foam tape to the panel embossed with the Ornate Floral EF.  The white flowers are die cut with Memory Box Daisy Silhouette.

Then I remembered the Twofer challenge was for flowers so I made another card using the same flowers.

For this card I embossed the white panel with the Stone EF.  I had the scrap of green pattern paper and cut it to 4 x 5-1/4" and then cut it in half diagonally, and then again.  The sentiment is stamped on a stitched oval die cut which I inked light around the edges before removing the die.  I mounted this with foam tape.  I die cut the flowers and colored them with Promarkers and then mounted them on the sides of the oval.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate the visit and your comments.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,

Seize the Birthday - Use Vellum or Transparency

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Ashwini has chosen the topping option of Transparency or Vellum.  Remember it is an option and the only requirement is that your project has to be for a birthday.

For my card I used some pattern paper I had on my table in pink and navy.  I added a mat of Night of Navy.  The flowers, leaves and sentiment are from Gina K. Stippled Flower Stamp and Die Bundle.  I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the flower with SU Flirty Flamingo Blends and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends.  I fussy cut them out and added the flower with foam tape to a die cut Night of Navy circle.  I added the leaves under the flower and then added the circle with foam tape also over the end of the vellum strip heat embossed with the sentiment.and black embossing powder.  I folded the end of the vellum around the pink paper and taped it down.  For a final touch I added 3 clear rhinestones for a little bling.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the team and our guest designer over at

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
