Thank You For All You Do - MFTWSC 139

MFTWSC139

This is my card using this week's MFTWSC139 sketch.  I turned the sketch sideways as I wanted to use my new stamp set from MFT LJD-Grand Greetings. I love the fonts in this set.  My card will be going in my box for Operation Write Home (they send handmade cards to our service men and women overseas to send home to their families and friends).

My card base is Canvas Corp Heavy White Cardstock.  I used some new SU Coastal Cabana CS and DSP.  The sentiment is stamped in SU Basic Gray ink on X-Press It Blending Card.  I matted it with some gray paper from my stash - I think gray goes with the Coastal Cabana color so well.  I cut the scallop border from Coastal Cabana CS with a die from the new MFT Blueprints 6 Die-namics (love the Blueprints die-namics).  The little banners are cut with MFT Fishtail Flags Layers Stax.  I added a button tied with some SU White Baker's Twine to complete my card.

Merry Christmas for Merry Monday #72

This is my card for the Merry Monday #72 challenge.  I flipped the sketch so my wreath would be at the top.  My card base is SU Garden Green CS. I used the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder on my white cardstock so it would look like a brick wall.  I stamped the wreath from Verve's O Christmas Tree set in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with Copics, cut it out and mounted it with foam dimensionals on a 2" circle, punched from a piece of DCWV graph paper,  I stamped the bow on a piece of scrap paper, cut it out, added a little shading with a marker and mounted it with foam dimensionals also. I added some gold pearls from Michael's to the center of the poinsettias.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The Paver Red Grosgrain ribbon is from My Favorite Things and I added some SU White Baker's Twine around it.  That's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Seize The Birthday Challenge - Anything Goes

Happy Thursday my stamping friends.  This is my second post as a member of the new Design Team at Seize the Birthday and it is time for a new challenge.  Check it out HERE and join in the fun.   It is an "Anything Goes" challenge as long as it is a birthday project.  Need a sketch to get started then visit our sister challenge at Seize The Sketch and link up to both challenges.  We look forward to seeing your creations.

I am using the current sketch from Seize The Sketch #2 for my card.

I tried a technique I have seen quite a lot lately and wanted to give it a try.  It is called Starburst and Dawn Olchefske has a video tutorial on her blog here.  I used paper from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 pad for my starburst, Canvas Corp Heavy White Cardstock, and SU Regal Rose and Baha Breeze CS.  I used the SU Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch for the the Baha Breeze strip. The sentiment is from SU Perfectly Penned stamped in Basic Gray ink.  I hand cut the little banner at top and added a pink heart button from my stash.  That's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

You're Appreciated MFTWSC138

MFTWSC138

This is my card using MFTWSC138, unfortunately I didn't get it finished in time to post it before the deadline.  Since it is back to school time, I made a teacher card using MFT ALM-An  Apple For Teacher.  I stamped her in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card, colored her with Copics and cut her out. I paper-pieced her blouse & skirt with paper from the DCWV Edumacation Stack - all the DSP is from that stack, .  I glued her on the graph paper from the DSP stack, and mounted this panel with foam tape.  The card base is SU Crumb Cake and the mats are SU Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of SU Naturals Ivory from the last card I made.  The little banners at the top are made with MFT Fishtail Flags Layers Stax.   The black border at the bottom is punched with SU Scallop Border punch.  That's it for my card which will be going to one of my granddaughter's teachers this year.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate your comments.

A Little Birthday Wish for SC450

This is my card for Sketch Challenge 450 at Splitcoast Stampers. Check it out and play along.  I love sketch challenges as it gets my mojo going. This is a great sketch with lots of layers.

My card base and sentiment panel are SU Naturals Ivory CS.  The pretty DSP is from The Paper Studio Mirabelle mat stack and has a linen-like texture.  The mats and the flower are MFT Paver Red CS.  The flower is made with MFT's Upsy Daisy Die-namic and is on foam dimentionals.  The leaves and the textured center are included in the set and are cut from Naturals Ivory CS.  The sentiment from MFT's LJD-Birthday Sentiments is stamped in SU Bravo Burgundy ink and mounted with foam dimensionals.  I pierced the edges for more detail.  The pretty border underneath the panels is cut from MFT's Faux Crochet Border Die-namic in Paver Red CS.  That's it for my card.

I am also joining the challenge at A.R.T.#11 - Anything Goes

Freshly Made Sketches 100th Sketch

I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches 100th sketch celebration using their very first sketch. Check out their blog and all the fabulous inspiration shared there.

I used Canvas Corp Heavy White Cardstock for my base and the DSP is from Carta Bella's Giddy Up 6x6 pad.  The mats are SU Early Espresso CS, as well as the Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish diecut.  The flower is from SU Flower Shop set stamped in Regal Rose ink on some older Regal Rose DSP. I inked the edges of the flower with Regal Rose ink and added a pearl to the center.  The strip under the flower is Regal Rose CS embossed with the SU Snowburst EF.  The Early Espresso strip is punched with the SU Scallop Trip border punch.  The sentiment is a retired SU stamp.  I added some faux stitching around the sentiment panel with my Early Espresso Marker.  Lastly, I added the 3 small pearls in the top right corner and that's it for my card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate your comments.

Season's Greetings

ETA:  My card was a Favorite Find at My Favorite Things

I made my card following the Merry Monday #71 sketch challenge.  I used the cute PI-Holiday Hugs Snowman from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is from MFT Seasonal Sentiments.  I stamped the snowman in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on the snowflake DSP by The Paper Studio (so I wouldn't have to cut out his tiny arms) and again on X-Press It Blending Card.  I colored him with Promarkers and cut him out - minus the arms - and glued him over the DSP stamped image.  I tore the snowbanks and inked the edges with SU Bashful Blue ink.  I strung the buttons from my stash on Linen thread and adhered them across the edge of the DSP after I stamped the sentiment in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink.  That's it for my card.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Always Playing With Paper - Merry Monday #71 sketch challenge
Festive Friday - Theme Challenge - A Holiday Project with a Children's theme
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Goes

Have A Lovely Birthday

Happy Monday my stamping friends.  Here is my card combining a couple of challenges.

MFTWSC137

My card base and the sentiment panel are X-Press It Blending Card, the mats are SU Basic Black CS.

I really like this sketch and I think the colors work well together.  I used some of the Rose Red DSP in my stash for the bottom layer.  The two strips are Basic Gray DSP from the Twitterpated DSP (retired).  The small banner is some So Saffron DSP from the Subtles DSP pad.  I used MFT's  Sunflower Die-namic cut from Daffodil Delight CS for the flower, with some white CS and Basic Black for the flower center.  The sentiment from MFT's LJD-Birthday Greetings is stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink.  That's it for my card.

Happy Holidays

Yippee, I got another Christmas card done using Merry Monday's #70 sketch.  I used SU Very Vanilla and Old Olive CS and the DSP is from Authentique's Festive Collection, including the red mats.  Isn't that little Santa's Helper reindeer just the cutest.  He is from Verve stamps. I stamped him in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink, colored him with Promarkers and cut him out.  I added him to an oval cut with Spellbinders Classic Ovals die, embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake die. I lightly sponged some SU Bashful Blue ink over the raised snowflakes.  This is matted on an Olive Green Scalloped Oval diecut and mounted with foam tape.  The sentiment, from the same set, is stamped in Mememto ink, cut out with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics. I put the die cut back in the die and cut the other end also to make both ends look the same and mounted it with foam tape also.  Lastly, I added some SU Cherry Cobler Baker's Twine and that's it for my card.

I am also entering my card in CraftyHazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - anything Christmas.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by,  I appreciate your comments.

New Challenge for Seize The Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone.  This is my first post as a member of the Seize The Birthday Design Team.  Please stop by the blog HERE and see all the wonderful inspiration the Design Team has created for you and play along with our challenge.

Need a sketch to get you started, come and visit our sister challenge called "Seize the Sketch" and create a birthday card.

For my card I used this sweet Jilly's Candle image from Sweet November Stamps. I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics. I lightly sponged some SU Bashful Blue ink around the edges and paper pierced the top right corner for some added detail. I matted her with a Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangle cut out of SU Certainly Celery CS. The green DSP is some older SU paper and the striped and pink DSP is by My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from SU Vintage Labels set stamped in Certainly Celery ink and cut out with the SU Decorative Label punch and I handcut the Certainly Celery mat.

That's it for my card. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the inspiration at the Seize The Birthday blog.

Happy Birthday for the Dynamic Duos #65

I love these soft colors for the current Dynamic Duos Challenge #65 and they look so pretty together.  I used the challenge to make a birthday card for a friend at church.

My card base and the white panels are Canvas Corp Heavy Card.  I embossed the layer of Pistachio Pudding CS with the Finial Press EF.  The DSP is Blushing Bride.  The frame is from Just Rite Cast All Your Cares stamped in Pistachio Pudding ink and the flower is from the same set. I stamped it in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with a waterbrush pen and PP and BB inks.  I added the darker pink in the center of the flower with the Blushing Bride marker.  The sentiment is from SU Elementay Elegance stamped in Going Gray ink.  The frame and flower image are mounted with foam tape. Lastly, I added the 3 pearls in the top right corner for a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.
