Another One for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I had to make another poinsettia card for The Flower Challenge since they are looking for Christmas Florals. I am so sad  this is the last challenge for The Flower Challenge.  I have always been inspired by the DT cards and many players and also enjoyed joining in.

This card is for a special couple at church.  I embossed a panel of Evening Evergreen with Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettia EF and tried to splatter it with gold paint but didn't do too good, so I took the end of a toothpick dipped in the gold paint and put the dots where I wanted them - worked out great, in my opinion. :)  I cut the small die from SU Poinsettia Petals (ret.) using SU Cherry Cobbler, shaped the petals and glued them together, then added a gold foil die cut center.  The gold foil sprigs are from the same die set, but the pine branches are from a Spellbinders set.  The sentiment panel is cut with a PTI Love to Layer: Soft Ridges die and stamped in Cherry Cobbler using an older Recollections stamp set.  I mounted the white panel with foam tape and added the poinsettia and foliage in the upper left corner.  This was added to a white card base and my card was done.

I will also link to Festive Friday Challenge - used red, white, green, and Christmas Sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Another Christmas Card

Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today.

ETA:  Yea, my card was one of the Top Cups at Sunday Stamps.

The white panel is embossed with SU Brick & Mortar EF and matted with a thin black mat.  The blue ornament is cut with a retired SU die from glittery paper.  I sponged dark blue ink about the edge, and added an ornament topper and a bow cut from gold foil paper.  The Penny Black Nativity ornament is also cut from gold foil.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set.  The ornament and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps.

I will also link to Festive Friday Challenge Christmas Challenge.

I used stars (top of nativity), ornaments, and peace on earth (Jesus gives us peace).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Grid Technique for JUGS and FESTIVE FRIDAY COLOR CHALLENGE

I made my card for the Grid Technique Challenge at JUGS.  (The photo quality is not that good as I had to take it inside with a flash). This is my first time trying the grid technique, but thought I would give it a try.  I cut a 4" square of Whisper White CS and scored it diagonally every 1/2" in both directions.  I stamped this image from Taylored Expressions Christmas Blessings set in Night of Navy ink and trimed it leaving a small white border.  I mounted this panel on SU Night of Navy CS and added a mat of American Crafts Silver Glitter paper.  This is mounted on Night of Navy DSP with foam tape.  I also added a Silver Glitter paper mat and Night of Navy CS mat.  The sentiment is from the same set stamped in Night of Navy ink and mounted on a Spellbinders Grommet Tag (which I trimmed down on both sides).  I used Night of Navy 1/8" ribbon and mounted  it with foam tape.  The base is Whisper White CS. My card size is 5-1/2 by 4-1/4.

Season's Greetings

ETA:  My card was a Favorite Find at My Favorite Things

I made my card following the Merry Monday #71 sketch challenge.  I used the cute PI-Holiday Hugs Snowman from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is from MFT Seasonal Sentiments.  I stamped the snowman in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink on the snowflake DSP by The Paper Studio (so I wouldn't have to cut out his tiny arms) and again on X-Press It Blending Card.  I colored him with Promarkers and cut him out - minus the arms - and glued him over the DSP stamped image.  I tore the snowbanks and inked the edges with SU Bashful Blue ink.  I strung the buttons from my stash on Linen thread and adhered them across the edge of the DSP after I stamped the sentiment in Mememto Tuxedo Black ink.  That's it for my card.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Always Playing With Paper - Merry Monday #71 sketch challenge
Festive Friday - Theme Challenge - A Holiday Project with a Children's theme
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Goes
