Happy Birthday in Blue

Hello friends.  I have another birthday card to share today using the same Altenew Mom flowers as on my last card.  I had stamped and die cut several of the lovely flowers.

On this set of flowers I used  blue and green Copic  markers to color with.  Blue is my favorite color and I really like the finish card.  I also used my new Spellbinders Woven EF I received after stamping the flowers so it was a perfect match.  I embossed a white panel and added the flowers with foam tape.  I punched a 1-1/2 " circle and stamped the sentiment from a retired SU set.  I matted it with a scalloped Boho Blue mat which went perfect with the colored flowers.  I also mounted it with foam tape.

I am linking to Darnell's NBUS challenge since this is my first time using the EF.

Birthday Card for Two Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a birthday card to share today.  I made this one for a friend with two challenges in mind - Color Hues (Lilac & Mint) and Just Us Girls (Stencil).

ETA;  My card was a Runner Up at Color Hues.

I used Altenew Sphere Stencil and SU Purple Posy ink on the white panel for my background.  I then stamped Altenew Mom flower stamp, colored with SU Purple Posy & Mint Macaron Blends, and then die cut with the matching die.  I have had this set for quite some time and this is the first time I have used them.  I will definitely be using them again soon.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders Fancy Sentiment Strips Pressplate, cut with the included dies.  I mounted the flowers and sentiment with foam tape and then mounted the panel to a Mint Macaron panel,  I glued this whole panel to a white card base and my card was done.  I really like the end result and hope you do also.

Seize the Birthday - Red as the Main Color

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and I chose the "topping" to Use Red as the Main Color.  I thought it was perfect for a February challenge.  I hope you have fun playing in this challenge.

I have a lot of red on my card and of course flowers.  I used Impression Obsession Dotted Argyle background stamp and stamped it in SU Real Red, and then matted it with a Real Red mat.  The pretty blooms are from SU Two-toned Flora which is a 2 step stamp.  I stamped the detail image in Real Red and then for the full image I stamped in Real Red but stamped off once before stamping over the detailed image.  The leaves from the same set are stamped in Gumball Green.  I used the matching dies to cut both the blooms and the leaves and glued them to a white panel cut with SU Radiating Stitches dies.  I used the next to the largest die but put it back in the die and cut one end to make it smaller.  I wanted more of the lovely background to show. I mounted the panel with foam tape.  The sentiment is from an older SU set and I love the font in it and use it quite often.  I added 3 red rhinestones to finish my card.

Be sure to check out all the Team's cards and our Guest Designers.  I know they will inspire  you.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge with my pretty blooms.

Thank You card

Hello friends.  I have a Thank You card to share today.  A friend requested several Thank You cards and Sympathy cards so I will have several to share.

For this card I used SSS Vine Canopy EF and inked the top (flat side) with DOI and then ran it through my machine with white cardstock.  I love the result.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Go To Greetings on a white strip and cut it to fit across the center of the panel..

I will link my card to Can You Handle the Pressure - use an embossing folder

A New Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I have a new anniversary card to share today. I have 6 to make for March. I used a new stamp set SU Enduring Beauty.  I was inspired this card on Pinterest that showed this large image split in half and wanted to give it a try.  I was pleased with the final result. I changed the colors and layout.

This bundle has the stamp set, dies and masks (stencils).  I thought about coloring with markers but used the masks with Regal Rose and Granny Apple Green inks and my blending brushes.  I cut the image in  half and mounted them to a white panel embossed with SU Hatchmark EF (one of the three 3D EF in the SU on-line store).  I added a thin pink mat, then added the panel to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Celebrating You (ret.) on white strip, added a pink mat and mounted it across the center of the card.  I added two pink rhinestones to finish it off.

I will add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this new stamp set.

Love You, Friend

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a very good friend.  We have been friends since high school and she just started making cards (thanks to me. 😉) and she loves it as much as I do.

The flowers are from an older CTMH set that I had borrowed and stamped for quite a while.  I colored them with SU Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Blends and then cut them with my Scan N Cut as I didn't have the dies.  The lacy circle is a die from SU Encircled In Friendship (ret.) I taped the circle back in after stamping the sentiment from SU Shaded Summer (ret.)  I masked friend and then stamped it below Love You, so it would fit in the circle.  I mounted it with foam tape and then glued the flowers and leaves around.  I did add foam tape to the bottom of the flower.  This was mounted on a panel of pale minty green embossed with Spellbinders Columns EF.  I used the debossed side as I thought it was pretty also.

This photo shows the detail of the embossing better.

Seize the Birthday - Splatter

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday.  Glenda is our hostess and she has asked us to use splatter on our cards.

The blue pattern paper is from my stash and didn't have a name on it.  I cut a panel of the paper and splattered some white watercolor paint on it (it actually has a pearl tint to it that shows up beautifully in the light).  I added a black mat to it and then mounted it on a white panel embossed with SU Exposed Brick EF and then mounted the panels to my card base.  The pretty flowers are from Gina K. Designs Whimsical Wildflowers Bundle and are die cut with the matching die.  I colored them with SU Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Blends, then mounted them with foam tape.  The sentiment is from an older Verve stamp set.  I thought about embossing the sentiment in white but thought it would look better in black since the image was stamped in black and with the black mat.

Be sure to check out all the team's cards and our SPG over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will be inspired to join in our challenge.

Card in Pink & Red

Hello friends.  I have an anniversary card to share today.  Red & Pink are great colors for February, so I made my card with two challenges in mind.

I used some new pattern paper from SU called Most Adored and I love it.  This paper was perfect for the challenges.  I die cut it with Spellbinders Fluted Classics Rectangles and the white panel with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  The flowers are die cut with flower dies borrowed from a friend.  I sponged SU Real Red ink in the centers and added a pretty rhinestone to the centers.  I stamped the sentiment in Real Red and mounted the oval with foam tape.  I glued the flowers around the oval and added some fancy leaves cut with Altenew Leaf Mix Die Set.

Alcohol Inks with Gilding Flakes

Hello friends. I have a couple of cards to share today.  I made these with the technique the Group of Seven Cardmakers are using this month.  I thought it would be fun to try it.

Group of Seven Cardmakers

I used Yuppo paper and 3 shades of Ranger Alochol Inks Monsoon, Pool, and Glacier). After squirting them on the Yuppo I blew them around with a straw (no puffer tool), adding a little Alcohol Blending Solution in a few areas. When the panel was dry in most places, I dabbed some gold gilding flakes on.  I really like the finished panel and decided to make 2 cards with it. I cut a panel to fit behind Avery Elle's Starburst Oval Die  and cut the die from white, I glued the Yuppo panel to the card base and mounted the die cut panel with foam tape.  I die cut Honey Bee's Anemone die from white cardstock and blended some blue ink to the centers, glued them together and then added a center die cut from the alcohol ink panel.  The leaves are cut from SU Pear Pizzazz. The sentiment is from an older SU set and I embosed it in gold and die cut it with a stitched die and mounted with foam tape under the starburst panel.  I really liked the finished card, and so did my daughter.

For my second card I die cut a Cottage Cutz Stitched Sqare from the Yuppo panel and mounted it with foam tape to a white panel embossed with SU Tuffted EF (ret.).  I stamped the Hero Arts Poppy in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with SU Sweet Sorbet and Old Olive Blends. I then die cut it with the matching die.  I did trim some of the white around the flower, then mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is an older Verve stamp stamped on a stitched shape from SU Enduring Beauty dies., and mounted with foam tape. I like this one too.

I will link to the Triple B Challenge
