Merry Christmas for The Color Hues challenge

Hello friends.  I finally had a chance to make a card for the Color Hues Challenge - Cream & Gold.

YEA, my card was the winner at the Color Hues.

I had the cream/gold dotted paper in my stash so used it and matted with gold foil.  I stamped and embossed the middle and small poinsettia layers from SU Poinsettia Petals and the sentiment from SU Perfectly Plaid with gold embossing power.  I made two of the middle layer and one of the small layer and then shaped the petals and glued the layers together.  I die cut the center from gold foil also. The sentiment panel is die cut with a Nested Labels die and mounted with foam tape.  I glued the flower to the left side of the label and then added two cream die cut leaves and two of the berry sprays cut from gold foil.  I was really pleased with the final card and was glad I got to join in the fun challenge over at the Color Hues.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Mix Up Card Challenge

Hello Friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge -  Tone on Tone using stencils.

I die cut an oval from cardstock and used the negative to sponge the oval with Speckled Egg DOI, then I placed my new Newton's Nook Gingham Stencil over it (with the negative oval piece still in place) and sponged Salty Ocean DOI over the oval for the tone on tone look.  I had this pretty flower already stamped, colored and fussy cut just waiting to be used on a card, so I paced it to the bottom of the oval, off center, and then placed some die cut leaves around it.  The sentiment is from SU Fancy Phrases and die cut with a fishtail flag die.  I mounted the flower and the sentiment with foam tape.  I added a thin black mat and my card was done.

Seize the Birthday - Use Your Scraps

Hello friends,   It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time Lindsey would like us to use our scraps on our birthday project.

I had this flower from Altenew/Pinkfresh Studio Celebrate Us already stamped, including the yellow layers and just had to color the leaves and then die cut it with the matching die.  Luckily I had some scraps that went with the flower colors so I cut 3/4" strips and mounted them on a white panel embossed with SU Dainty Diamonds EF.  I added a thin black mat to this layer to make the colors pop more.  The sentiment from SU Fancy Phrases was stamped on a panel cut with a retired die.  The sentiment and flower were mounted with foam tape.  I added 3 yellow candy dots for a final touch.

Don't forget to check out all the fabulous cards by the design team over at Seize the Birthday and  join in the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Maculine Birthday Card

Hello Friends.  Today I have a masculine birthday card to share.  This was made for my granddaughter's friend's dad.  He rides and trains horses so she wanted a cowboy/horse theme.  She said he loved the card.

I downloaded this image from Pinterest and colored it with Copics and Promarkers. I sponged some lt. blue ink for the sky area.  I then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and matted it with Basic Gray. The sentiment is from SU Blossoms in Bloom, also die cut with a small stitched rectangle die and matted with Basic Gray.  The image and sentiment are mounted with foam tape on a white panel embossed with the Stone EF (retired) and then on a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Give Thanks

Hello Friends.  I have a new card to share today.  We will soon be in the season of giving thanks so I made a fall card for the season.

The pumpkin images are from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive Blends.  I then fussy cut them out and used them on a wreath die cut from the Arrange A Wreath Bundle.  The sentiment, small flowers (stamped in Cajun Craze ink) and the bow die cut from Cajun Craze Card are all from the wreath set.  I die cut a white circle to fit in the Crumb Cake wreath and glued the inner leaves and parts of the thin circle to the white die cut.  I fussy cut the flowers and glued them and the bow to the wreath and mounted it with foam tape to a Crushed Curry panel embossed with the Pinewood Planks EF.  I then mounted the pumpkins with foam tape. I am pleased with the final card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Let me explain our topping.
For this challenge we want you to make a card and/or project that is inspired by the graphic below.  Whether it be the colors, the balloons, the watercolor vibe, or the numbers, etc. Whatever sparks your creativity.
Remember for this challenge only, we are asking you to explain in your post how exactly you were inspired!

  Our "Topping"

So we are NOT having an option of Anything Goes
 for this challenge.
I was inspired by the colors, the watercolor look, and the balloons.
I used watercolor paper and added Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay inks with my waterbrush.  I die cut the Happy using SU So Much Happy dies and then cut each letter separate.  I also cut it in black and offset it to look like a shadow.  I stamped the cute bear from MFT Beary Special Birthday, die cut him with the matching dies, and colored him with Promarkers.  I stamped the balloons separately on pieces of the watercolor paper, pieced them together, and added  twine for the balloon strings.  The white panel is embossed with SU Subtles EF and lightly sponged with blue ink over the top section.  I matted the sentiment strip with Bermuda Bay and added it to the embossed panel.  The bear and balloons were mounted with foam tape.  All this was glued to the Melon Mambo card base.

I am one of the Mystery Design Team Members and this is the prize  I am offering:
Simon Say Stamp Circle Loops die and Newton's Nook Peony Blooms.

I will also link my card to AAA Birthday - Animals & Critters.

Thinking of You - Color Hues

Hello friends.  I have a card I made using the colors from the Color Hues challenge - Turquoise and Navy.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this color combo but I just received this new Pretty Frames 2 die from PinkFresh Studio and had to try it out.  It cuts a lot of frames at one time.  I used the 2nd largest, middle, and small center frames.  I mounted the outer frame and center frame with foam tape and glued the middle one down.  I stamped the sentiment from an older stamp in Night of Navy ink and added a very thin Night of Navy mat.  The flowers from SU Daisy Lane are stamped in Tempting Turquoise and layered.  I added a clear gem stone to the centers and mounted them with foam tape between the frames.  The leaves from a retired stamp set are die cut in Night of Navy card and glued under the flower petals.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas Challenge - Christmas Tree

Hello friends.  I have a card for the CAS Christmas September Challenge - Christmas Tree.

I printed this cute Lily of the Valley digital image (Teddy with Christmas Tree) and die cut it with my new Reverse Confetti Center Frame Cover Panel die.  I colored the image with Promarkers and added Fun Flock to the hat brim and pompom.  I added  modeling paste at the bottom of the image for the snow and sprinkled fine glitter over it for a little sparkle  The DSP is from MFT Candy Land 6x6 pad.  It has Christmas greetings all over it so I didn't need to add a sentiment.  I strategically placed merry & bright and merry Christmas in the top opening of the die cut.  For a final touch I added Wink of Stella to the star and ornaments.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends.  Today I have a birthday card for a little one at church who is turning 1 year old this week.

I used the cute zebra and sentiment from SU Zany Zebras.  I stamped the zebra, and his party hat, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy cut them out.  I colored the hat with markers and added it to the zebra, which I mounted with foam tape.  I sponged Pear Pizzazz ink over the bottom of the center panel and then over-stamped it with an older grass stamp in Wild Wasabi ink.  I sponged some lt. blue ink over the top portion for a sky.  I die cut the balloons and mounted them with foam tape.  I hand drew the balloon strings.  The sentiment is also mounted with foam tape.  The mat is Balmy Blue.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
